Starting his senior year at Midtown High was supposed to be one of the most exciting times of his life - and yet it seems that Peter's life couldn't be in more disarray than it already is. After the "tragic" death of Norman Osborn, Spider-Man's reputation is only just beginning to recover; meanwhile his reputation at school remains in the gutter after his breakup with Liz Allan. And what's worse still, he can only sit and watch as his friendships with Gwen and Harry further strain and crumble before his eyes.But little does Peter know that this is only the beginning of his problems. Deep within New York's Underworld, something troubling is afoot - and as the situation grows dire does he realize he may be the only one who can stop it. As the city is stricken by a strange new illness, Peter must race against time to battle his deadliest foe yet, and stop them before it's too late; for the conflict that he is about to face may not just decide the fate of New York - but quite possibly the entire world.
