There are Other Ways to Say No

Summary:

Someone under stress meeting someone looking pretty doesn't go quite as Hamilton expected

Notes:

This was something I just thought would be fun since I saw at least one person ship OdyHam and this idea came to my head. I guess this is a way to have my cake and eat it too. I hope you enjoy this and leave a comment!

Work Text:

It was a dark summer night of 1791 and Alexander Hamilton was busy writing. He was busy writing up a new financial plan to bring to congress. As Hamilton looked over the intricate system that he wished to put into place he heard a knock at his door. When the bastard orphan opened the door he found a beautiful young woman in her early twenties with dark curly hair in a red dress.
“Excuse me sir, My name is Maria Reynolds.” The Woman said, “I know that you must be busy but I had nowhere else to go. My husband 's been beating me and now he’s left and I have no way to provide for myself.”
“I should have some money here. How about I walk you home?” Hamilton suggested
“Thank you sir.”
So they walked down the dimly lit Philadelphia street to Maria’s house not too far from where Hamilton lived with his wife and kids. As they reached the shabby abode Hamilton gave Maria $10. “If only there is something I can do to repay you for your kindness, sir.” Maria said
“Oh that won’t be necessary.” Hamilton replied
“No please I insist, Please come inside.”
And so they did, Maria led Hamilton through the Reynolds house, up the stairs and to her bedroom. Where she sat on the bed and spread her legs.
“Would this be enough to repay you? "Maria asked seductively
“Yes I think that should be enough.” Hamilton said as he moved towards her.
Hamilton and Maria started to kiss their lips intertwined in passion until Maria pulled away.
“Before we go on with these there is something you should hear.”
“Yes?”
Maria then reached her hand up and pulled her dark curly hair off. Revealing short, but only in comparison to the hair she had earlier, brown hair. But Hamilton was only able to see this for a split second before Maria’s other hand reached up and punched Hamilton in a full clenched fist. The punch had landed hard enough that Hamilton fell off the bed and when He looked up he saw that “Maria’s” hair wasn’t the only thing that had changed; the previously soft face highlighted by black eyes had been replaced with a face hardened by war highlighted by striking teal eyes.
“You shouldn’t cheat on your wife!” scolded the mysterious man as he jumped off the bed and attacked Hamilton. Hamilton tried as hard as he could to fight him off but it had been nearly 10 years since Hamilton was in a physical fight, while this man had clearly been in a fight more recently than him. The man had gotten Hamilton in a headlock and started punching him over and over. Each blow hurt more than the last until finally well after Hamilton’s nose had been broken the man got up.
“My name is Odysseus remember it and what I said”
Before Hamilton could respond the man had disappeared. Hamilton got up and started to make his way home while he started to think of what would make for a good excuse for his broken nose.
