It all started an unassuming morning.
He woke up, got dressed, brushed his teeth, had breakfast, went back to his room, and played Minecraft for a few hours.
Then, he heard commotion outside, so he put on his Spider-Man costume, left the house, looked into what was going on, dealt with a petty robbery, and then dove into an alleyway, where he found that his phone was buzzing because MJ was calling him.
When he answered, they did their usual greetings, but something seemed to be off about her. She was probably just tired...
He woke up in bed. Huh, he thought to himself. That was a weird dream.
He got dressed, brushed his teeth, had breakfast, went back to his room, and played Minecraft for a few hours. Everything in his game, he swore, played out the same as it did in his dream, but he decided he was probably just overthinking it.
Then, he heard commotion outside, so he put on his Spider-Man costume, left the house, looked into what was going on, dealt with a petty robbery, and then dove into an alleyway, where he found that his phone was buzzing because MJ was calling him.
A feeling of dread grew in his stomach as he answered the phone.
When he answered, they did their usual greetings, but something seemed to be off about her. She was probably just tired... Right?
He woke up in bed.
Now, he was sure something was wrong, but he got dressed, brushed his teeth, had breakfast, went back to his room, and played Minecraft for a few hours.
Everything in his game was definitely the same as he'd seen twice now.
When he got to the same stopping point he'd reached twice before, as if on cue, commotion was heard outside. He went straight to the site of the robbery and then went to the alleyway and waited for his phone to ring.
When it did, he answered, and immediately dove into trying to tell MJ that something is wrong, but she wouldn't even say anything.
He woke up in bed again.
No, he thought. He refused to go through the motions again. Time passed and he heard commotion. He felt guilty not interfering, but he knew it'd just repeat again, so there was no point.
Then, his phone rang.
He ignored it.
Time passed.
He woke up again.
Rinse and repeat.
Rinse and repeat.
Rinse and repeat.
Finally, he woke up and immediately called MJ.
"Hey, Peter" she said, and she sounded right this time. "What's up?"
"MJ, I'm stuck in a time loop"
"Oh shit" she replied. She knew better at this point than to question wild claims like this. If Peter said he was in a time loop, then he was stuck in a time loop.
"I don't know how to get out of it" he told her. "I'm getting pretty freaked out"
"Do you want me to come over?"
"Please"
MJ showed up at his house a while later. Soon after she arrived, commotion was heard outside.
"It's a robbery" he told her, but did nothing. A couple minutes later, his phone rang. He showed her his screen and she was shocked to see her own name had come up. "I don't know what's happening"
"I'm sorry" she told him. "I don't know what to do"
"Everything is gonna reset soon"
"Find me in every repetition" she told him. "I'll keep you company until we can figure out how to stop it, okay?"
"...Okay"
