“You are going to what? Repeat that, please!” Chan stared back at Changbin with wide-eyed excitement. Jisung too was bouncing in his seat waiting for him to answer.

“I am going to ask Hyunjin to marry me,” Changbin sighed, the relief of getting this massive secret off of his chest was immense.

“When?! How?! I need all the details!” Jisung squealed back in excitement.

Chan just watched happily as Changbin answered, “When he gets to Australia, I have it all planned out! He’s coming on a second plane later and Felix is in on it in case I need extra time. I’m gonna have it all set up, a romantic dinner and then when we get back to the room I’ll have a spread of all his favorite desserts waiting. If it goes well he will walk over to see it and grab the card and while he’s reading it I need some help actually for this part. Jisung, are you up for hiding a closet for a bit?”

“He hasn’t been in a closet for years,” Chan couldn’t help but cackle at his own joke while Jisung looked actually quite flustered.

“Well Chan, I'll have you know that keeping my clothes in baskets and neat piles is a much more effective way to organize for my brain!”

“Never Change Sungie,” Changbin smiled fondly at the joke going right over Jisung’s head. Meanwhile, Chan nearly fell out of the chair laughing, “ANYWAYS,” Changbin stated loudly to get their full attention again. “I am going to be down on one knee waiting for him to turn around and Jisung is probably the smallest of us aside from Felix that could hide long enough to sneak out and get a good picture without being immediately noticed.”

“Oh that’s so fucking sweet! I’m in!!!” Jisung was nearly crying happy tears as he jumped out of his chair to hug Changbin.

“Are you going to want us to clear out the floor for a bit or?”

“I don’t think that will be necessary, Hyunjin is going to want to tell everyone,” Changbin blushed at the thought of Chan offering them the entire floor of the hotel for privacy. A nice gesture but neither of them would probably be able to function knowing that it's possible that all the members and staff would know what they are up to.

“I’m really excited for you Changbin… Really proud too.”

“Don’t start crying!” Jisung smacked Chan’s shoulder, “It’s going to make me cry!” He squealed as if he wasn’t already emotional over this.

“Love you guys,” Changbin giggled as he tried his best to get back to what they were actually supposed to be doing. If they wanted any free time on tour he had to bust his ass in the studio now to get ahead. Working on the road was just not ideal.

      Hyunjin,

You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. It’s hard to put into words just how much you mean to me, you have been my rock, my everything for the past few years. I know we joke around saying my wife this and my wife that, but I don’t think it's a joke anymore. As if I needed any more proof but this last year living together proved you are my soulmate. My other half. You fit by my side as if I were made just for you and you for me. Even when I am busy and overworked you are still there at the end of the day waiting for me. I adore you more than you know, but if you will let me I’d love to spend the rest of our lives showing you just how much you mean to me. Hwang Hyunjin, will you marry me? (this is the part where you turn around)

Changbin folded the note after one last read-through and sat it beside a bouquet of a dozen red roses next to one of the candles. To my wife, was scrawled on the outside of the note with a small (to be) hidden in the corner. This was it, if he wanted to back out now was his chance. This was a big step and even with as sure as he was with his love for Hyunjin it was scary. Thankfully, Jisung, as oblivious as he could be, noticed.

“You love him right?” Jisung asked, grabbing Changbin by the shoulders.

“Of course! I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t!”

“And he loves you,” Jisung paused to help fix Changbin’s hair and brush out the wrinkles of his dress shirt, “That’s all that matters. Relax and try to enjoy dinner.”

“Thank’s Hannie,” Changbin sighed as he headed for the door, “I really appreciate the help.”

“Of course, have fun! Behave! Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!” Jisung yelled out as Changbin left the room. He wished the joking around would’ve eased his nerves but it really didn’t do much to quell the rumbling in his stomach.

One bottle of wine and two expensive steak dinners later Hyunjin had his arm wrapped around Changbin’s as they walked to their hotel room. He whined about not getting dessert, convinced Changbin’s promise of dessert back at the hotel was some dirty joke. So much so that he was genuinely shocked to see the dessert spread on the desk across the room.

As expected he walked over to the desk and after a bite or two of cake, he noticed the roses and the letter. After picking it up Hyunjin grabbed another bite of cake casually as he read it. Changbin was so shaky as he waited. Rather than gracefully getting down on one knee, he wobbled and nearly fell. Thankfully Hyunjin didn’t notice. Changbin hurried to get the ring box out of his pocket and open before Hyunjin turned around. It was a simple jewelry box but opening it with trembling hands felt like having to solve a Rubix cube in less than six seconds or else it would explode.

Just as he opened it Hyunjin turned around, dropping the note in shock. Changbin heard the click of the camera signaling that Jisung was right on cue, “Wait just a second!” Hyunjin looked like a deer and headlights as he ran for the door, shoving Jisung out of the way almost as if he were just another piece of luggage. Changbin’s heart dropped as did his body. It gave out beneath the weight of what was to come. The uncertainty hung heavy in the air even though Hyunjin didn’t leave the room. He was rifling through one of his bags staff brought up earlier, cursing under his breath the entire time before finally retrieving something. He held it hidden in his hands as he returned to Changbin’s side.

Hyunjin knelt in front of Changbin, visibly trembling, “I got you one too,” He said softly as he opened his hand revealing a simple gold band.

“Oh baby,” Chanbin whined, “I didn’t mean to ruin your proposal!” Even if they both wanted to ask, Changbin felt bad. Knowing Hyunjin it was going to be a whole ordeal, lights, cameras, a flash mob even. All of the dramatics.

“No, no Binnie! You didn’t ruin it! I actually did… I forgot the ring. I was going to ask you to go for a walk to the water after dinner, but I forgot the ring so I couldn’t…”

     “No dramatics?” Changbin giggled.

“I wanted it simple for you. I know you would probably be shy about it especially if there were others involved. Kinda shocked you had Jisung here taking pictures,” Changbin loved romantic gestures as much as Hyunjin, but his boyfriend was right. Had there been dramatics he may have been too shy to speak. Confident, cool, calm and collected normally but in front of the love of his life Changbin turned to a babbling fool in mere moments. They knew each other so well. Changbin had planned it the way Hyunjin would’ve wanted it, with every cliche romantic moment down to the photographer waiting in silence. Another bit of proof that they were perfect for each other if there were ever any lingering doubts.

They laughed softly together, all smiles and silly sweet kisses, forgetting for a moment Jisung was there, “So uh… not to interrupt, but do you need me to leave or…?”

“Oh! Right yea…” Changbin couldn't help but chuckle at how awkwardly Jisung was lurking in the corner of the room, “Did you want more pictures Hyunie?”

Hyunjin fumbled with the gold band in his hand anxiously as he spoke, “If you’re ok with it.”

“Yea, get over here,” Changbin ushered Jisung over to them and turned his attention back to Hyunjin after taking the ring out of the box, “Hyunjin will you do me the greatest honor and actually be my wife?”

“Of course,” Hyunjin smiled softly as their hands trembled together when Changbin placed the silver band on his ring finger. Now it was Hyunjin’s turn and again with shaky hands they exchanged rings, “Will you be mine?”

Jisung walked away as they shared a tender kiss, holding each other's hands tightly. He was able to read the room thankfully as this moment was one they weren’t willing to share. Their lips mingled as did the tears on their cheeks of pure joy. The years of push and pull finally culminated into one final tug of war that was declared a draw. Their love for each other smashed together, toppling through their souls, eventually merging into one. Two bodies, one soul, and one love that would last through the ages.
