    It was in his face now, bulging eyes and dripping teeth mere inches from his face, breathing out hot, spoiled air as it examined him. A single massive claw came up to his face, tracing far-too-gently down his scar. "You aren't supposed to be scared of anything."

    The rest of Monster's hand, more a flexible set of talons, eased against his face, grasping at the sides of his head and pulling him up to meet his eyes. It was difficult to breathe just from the odor alone. "Not scared of anything. Fresh. That's what made you and your little girlfriend so special. Something broke you. Going stale."

    As if the very mention of BF's "fear" was enough to work up an appetite, the not insignificant amount of drool pooled between the creature's exposed teeth and spilled out over its chin. BF cringed reflexively. "Can't let you rot. Not like the others."
