When a vampire meets a police officer

Summary:

Isagi forces Nagi to go to Bachira's annual Halloween party. It cost him a lot of convincing, but Isagi knows that Nagi's secret crush Reo will be there too, and he wants his shy and introverted friend to hopefully make a move on him once both of them meet.
He even buys Nagi a vampire Halloween costume.

And once Nagi spots Reo in his police officer outfit, he needs a few drinks first before he even dares to look at him a second time.

Work Text:

“Come on, Nagi. It's gonna be fun. I promise you, if you want to leave after two hours, it's okay. But I want you to at least try.”
Isagi tried to talk his best friend Nagi into joining his other friend's Halloween party.
They all knew each other from their soccer club and Bachira was always throwing the best parties, no matter what event it was. But Nagi always needed an extra invitation and a little coaxing until he would accompany them.

The white haired boy loved being at home and gaming the night away, which was fine. However, he was missing out on all the fun, and Isagi knew that his secret crush Reo was also coming. So Nagi had to be there too. Isagi wanted to help his friend to get a little closer with him and maybe even in bed. It was Halloween after all, and lots of alcohol would be served to ease their nerves a little.

“I don't know, Isagi. I don't have a costume and everything. It's so much work. And I love my bed and my games, I can stay at home….”
Nagi complained, pouting as he turned around on his bed, giving Isagi his cold shoulder who was sitting at his desk in his room.

The boy with the dark blue hair came unannounced into Nagis' apartment to make sure he was hearing him out. Nagi was always just sneaking off whenever someone tried to invite him to something, so today, Isagi thought ahead. At his own home, Nagi had no chance to ignore him and flee from the situation.

“No, you can't stay at home, Nagi. Come on, I will help you with your costume and all. You can rely on me. I just want you to have some fun with us and spend some time outside of your home. I promise it will be fun, and if not, you can still leave. But at least try. For me.”
Isagi shook him by his shoulder and forced him to turn around again, looking into his unique gray eyes.

Nagi shighed, driving a hand through his face in a slightly annoyed gesture. Isagi just wasn't leaving him alone about this. For days he tried to get him to join this stupid Halloween party. Nagi was sick of hearing it. He had said no so many times already, he couldn't even remember it.
Maybe he couldn't get around this stupid party.

“Will you leave and stop talking about it if I say yes?”
Nagi grunted, his eyes sharpening and his voice serious. He just wanted to be alone. Badly.

“Yes, I will. I promise. Just say yes and I'm out of there faster than you can blink.”
Isagi nodded his head eagerly, hoping to hear Nagi say what he wanted to hear from him. Nagi had truly no idea why he was so persistent with this particular party, but he knew that once he understood why Isagi had acted the way he did, Nagi would be grateful.
But Isagi wanted it to be a surprise and his friend should just roll with what felt right to him, so the dark haired boy didn't want to tell him directly.

“Fine. Then yes, I'm going. And now piss off.”

And Isagi held his word and Nagi only saw his back, walking towards his apartment door.

“See you then. I will text you for a costume and stuff. You won't regret it.”

Nagi just rolled his eyes, glad that he had his space for himself again.

*************

It was the day of the party. Bachira's Halloween party, to be precise. And Nagi indeed was walking towards his front door in his costume that he was allowed to pick with Isagis money. His friend wanted him at this party so badly, he even paid for his stupid costume.
Nagi had picked a vampire costume, he felt that it fitted him. It was simple and didn't draw too much attention to him.
He wore a heavy black cloak that went down to the floor, black tight pants and a silken, blood red shirt that had a low V Cut and was held together at the front with two lazy knotted strings.
Isagi told him to be at least a little bit sexy and show some skin, and so Nagi was showing a little bit of chest with this outfit.
He also wore fake fangs and his lips, chin and neck were covered in some fake blood that tasted like strawberries.
And that was it, that was his outfit.

Isagi followed Nagi one step behind, making sure he was really going inside. The blue haired boy was dressed up as a priest, wearing a dark suit with a white collar and a rosary cross hanging around his neck. It wasn't super creative, Isagi knew that. But he was only focused on Nagi and his goal to get him laid tonight. Isagi would get laid no matter what he wore, Bachira was hungry for him in every outfit. That little minx.

The party was loud and there were people drinking and dancing in the front yard of Bachira's parents house. They were always on vacation over Halloween and so Isagi's boyfriend had the house for himself.

“Hey, Isagi! Nice to see you! And oh wow, is that a Nagi in the wild I see ?”
It was Chigiri who was stumbling towards them, waving to them as they arrived, with the plastic cup full of beer in his hand.

“Chigiri, watch out for yourself. You always get drunk so easily. Where is Kunigami to watch you?”
Isagi grabbed Chigiri by the shoulders, making sure he wasn't falling to the ground. His cheeks were already flushed pink just like his hair, and it was obvious he already had a few beers. Chigiri was truly a lightweight.

“He is… I think he is with B-Bachira somewhere. I dunno.. he… left me with that guy who should look out for me. B-But he seems to be searching for someone else but me.”
Chigiri pointed to someone behind him. Someone wearing a blue policeman uniform that fitted him like a second skin and looked everywhere but Chigiri.

Isagi cheered on his inside. So he was already here. Fuck yes. Now he only needed Nagi to…

“I'm gonna go inside and grab a beer as well. See you. And hi Chigiri.”
Nagi quickly ran up the porch stairs and inside the big, red house where even more people stood inside of and moved to the way too loud beats that Bachira was playing.

Nagi needed only one quick glance to know who was wearing the policeman uniform and he wasn't in the mental state to face him just now.
It was Reo.
Reo was here.
Why was he here?
And why didn't Nagi stay at home?
Fuck.

Nagi needed a drink for that.
He had never told anyone about his secret crush on Reo but Isagi, and it should stay that way. A crush. And a secret. The white haired boy was sure that the Reo wasn't interested in him anyways. He was a rich kid. Someone who had everything he wanted and needed and never had to worry about anything. He could get anyone he wanted. He had it all. So why should he be interested in an introverted nerd like him?

He better not get his hopes up. That's why he didn't even plan to make a move on him in the first place. He didn't need the disappointment.

Nagi moved to the big bar that Bachira had in his kitchen with everything you could imagine. Hard stuff, weaker stuff, beer, and non alcoholic drinks as well.
He saw Kunigami with Baru serving themselves whiskey and Gin and a third cup with beer, probably for Chigiri.
Kunigami was dressed as a ghost, a white sheet hanging over his body but his head was exposed. It was a cheap and uninspired costume, but who cares. This was a party, not a cosplay contest.

Nagi helped himself to a beer as well, his stomach wasn't made for hard alcohol that burned in his throat like acid.

He practically chugged the first cup within a few seconds, taking a deep breath before he downed the next cup.
He needed this if he wanted to survive the night.

“Woah, easy there tiger.”
Kunigami gasped as he watched Nagi downing the beer as if it was plain water.

“Shut up. It's none of your business. Your princess out there is fighting for his life, you better go to him and make sure he doesn't trip over his own feet.”
Nagi grunted back, Barou laughing at his dry words in the background.

Nagi served himself another cup, not nearly at the level that he needed to eventually face Reo.

“Pretty snappy today, aren't you? Maybe the beer will make you a bit more chill. This is a party, Nagi. Relax, no one wants to fight you here. We all just wanna have a good time.”
Kunigami and Barou moved out of his way and back out to the front yard where Kunigami's boyfriend was still being held by Isagi.
But Isagi was also eyeing Reo who was looking at his phone and then back to the entrance of the house where Nagi had disappeared inside of.

So Reo had hopefully seen him, and knew that Nagi was already here. Maybe he was nervous and needed a little encouragement, Isagi thought.

“Hey, Reo. Can you go grab me a beer as well? I kinda have my hands full at the moment. That would be super sweet of you.”
Isagi called out to the purple haired boy in the police uniform, hoping that he would do it without question.

And Reo nodded, moving towards the front door of the house. Isagi thanked him, a big smile on his face. Now his plan would hopefully flourish.

Kunigami and Barou were coming out of the house while Reo walked inside, nodding to each other.
“Thanks for watching Chigiri for me.”
Kunigami said, already seeing that Isagi was with his boyfriend now.

Reo only nodded, walking past them and towards the makeshift bar that Bachira had built himself. The music was loud and Reo didn't particularly like it, this place was too crowded for his taste.
He preferred it to be more quiet and peaceful, but this was a party, so what did he expect ?

He only came here for one reason and one reason only. And that wasn't Bachira or his stupid party.

Reo walked closer to the bar through the living room towards the small kitchen.
The purple haired boy saw someone standing there in a long black cloak and this unmistakable white, beautiful hair.

It was Nagi.
The one he had been looking for.

Reo balled his hands into fists at the side of his body, closing his eyes for a second. He needed all his courage. He couldn't be nervous right now. Now was his only chance to get him alone and he didn't want to fuck this up.
He has been eyeing Nagi ever since he joined their football team. He could never focus whenever he was close to him, everything he saw was him.

But he always seemed so disinterested and ran away right after training, never joining any parties or weekend activities. He never even talked to him or looked his way. That had discouraged Reo to approach the white haired boy and he kept his crush on him to himself, accepting that Nagi didn't want anything to do with him.

However, as soon as he saw him coming with Isagi, he knew that this was his one and only chance to get to have a chat with him. To see if he would run away again, or if maybe today, things would be different.

Reo summoned all of his strength and courage that he had within himself before he stepped up behind the boy dressed as a vampire and tapped him on his shoulder from behind.

“Don't vampires usually drink blood?”
Reo whispered into Nagis ear, making sure to be really close so that Nagi would feel his hot breath on his skin.

The poor white haired boy screamed from the shock and surprise of having someone so close behind him, since he didn't hear or notice someone walking up to him!

“Ahhhh! Oh my god! Who the fuck……?!
Nagi yelped, quickly turning around and shoving the person behind him off of him.

But as soon as he realized who it was, his blood was freezing in his veins and his jaw dropped.
It was…. Reo.
What was he doing here ?!
And why was he speaking to him like that ?

Reo looked at him with one eyebrow raised and a smirk on his lips, amused that he managed to scare Nagi like that.

“A vampire who is that easily frightened? Maybe you should have dressed up as a chicken, that would be more fitting for someone like you.”
Reo chuckled, taking another step towards Nagi to close the distance that Nagi had put between them.

Nagis gray eyes widened at the insulting words spoken in a teasing tone, unable to get offended by them. He couldn't believe that Reo was standing there in front of him, speaking to him like that. His heart was beating into his throat and he felt his anxiety pumping through his veins. But he didn't want to seem like a coward, so he straightened up his back and looked up in Reos pretty purple eyes.

“A police officer scaring innocent citizens isn't the perfect choice for a costume either. Maybe you should have dressed up as a ghost if you want to creep up on people.”
Nagi shot back, hoping that Reo didn't hear the trembling in his voice. He was so glad that he had already downed four beers that helped him to stay calm a bit.

Reo was impressed by Nagis comeback, given how he looked like a deer in the headlights.
So he wanted to banter a little, Reos heart was fluttering with joy that he didn't immediately take off and left him standing there alone. Nagi was talking to him, he couldn't believe his luck.

“Hmm, yes. You might be right with that. But are you that innocent, Mister Vampire ? I see you have a little bit of blood sticking to your face here. How sloppy.”
Reo reached his hand out, taking another step closer and grabbing Nagis chin, caressing the skin that was covered in fake blood.

He heard Nagis breath at that and his pretty gray eyes blew wide at his touch, but he didn't pull back. He let Reo touch him, looking at him and meeting his gaze.

Fuck.
Reo had no idea what to do from here, he hadn't planned that far ahead. He didn't even think that he would get so far.

“I .. uhmm. I am more innocent than I look, Officer. I promise.”
Nagi gasped, his brain short circuiting and he had no idea what he was saying. He just knew that Reo's touch was warm on his face and that he smelled very nice.
He wanted to stay like that, even though his heart was about to burst in his chest.

“Oh, is that so? Are you an innocent little vampire that accidentally has blood sticking to his lips as if he has just bitten someone? I don't know if I can believe that, I'm afraid. The evidence speaks for itself. But since I am feeling rather generous tonight, I will give you the opportunity to explain yourself in a more quiet room under four eyes with just the two of us.”

Reo let go of his face and grabbed his hand instead, pulling Nagi on his wrist with him. Reo knew exactly where Bachira's guest room was, and he wouldn't waste another second.
It was out of the kitchen and down a short hallway to the left and Reo opened the door, pushing Nagi inside. He wouldn't risk that he freed himself of his grasp and ran away.

Reo had seen the look in his eyes as he talked to him, saw the longing and the need. Nagi wanted him. He wouldn't have stayed this whole time if he didn't.

Reo pushed Nagi against the door after he closed it shut, his hands right next to his head and his face closely in front of the others. He could already smell the strawberry flavor from the fake blood on Nagis lips.

“And, what do you have to say in your defense, vampire? This is your only chance.”
Reo said in a cocky tone, continuing where they left off. He stared at the slightly taller boy in front of him, hoping he got the hint and that he didn't make a mistake by bringing them here.

He just wanted to have Nagi for himself and bring them to a more … intimate and private setting where everything was possible to happen between them. But Reo was sure that something was surely gonna happen very soon.

“I….”
Nagi had no idea what was happening at this moment, but he was glad that Reo had dragged him here, away from the crowded kitchen and living room and the music that nearly made him deaf. He wouldn't have the courage to do it, so he was glad that Reo was taking the initiative.
Reo who had pushed him against the door and whose lips hovered right in front of his.
The police officer wasn't touching him, but his hands were right next to his head and if Nagi just leaned a little bit forward….

“Maybe I'm not so innocent. You are right. Maybe I tried to bite someone. Just like this.”
Nagi gathered up all his courage as he looked into those beautiful deep purple eyes, leaning a little forwards and pressing his lips against Reo's.

Reo immediately opened his lips and welcomed Nagi into the kiss, wrapping his hands around his neck and back of his head.
Thank god.
Thank god he kissed him.

Their lips moved against each other, hungrily and almost desperately. It was clear that both of them had waited for this opportunity for longer than they wanted to admit out loud, so they poured their feelings into the kiss instead.

Nagi was snaking his arms around Reo's waist, pushing him slightly backwards towards the big bed behind them.

Reo did as he was asked, but none of them was willing to break the kiss just yet.
They stumbled towards the bed, their tongues dancing around between each other's mouths as they fought for dominance, both of them not backing down that easily, now that their lust was unleashed.

Reo's knees were hitting the edge of the bed from behind, Nagi pressing him down on his back on top of the mattress and kneeling over his body, both panting hard as their lips were parted involuntarily from the fall.

“I have a confession to make, officer. It was a lie that I am innocent.”
