Caelus was just thoroughly exploring new place for any hidden treasures, lordly trashcans and origami birds when he got a call. Just when he was trying to yank last one of birds in current place silver haired man heard his phone ringing in his pocket. He took it out and noticed that person who is calling to him is Topas, so he fastly yanked out origami bird and answered call.
"Caelus are you free?" Asked fastly Topaz without even giving Caelus chance to say hi.
"Yes I'm, do you need something?" Asked Caelus after lightly petting small origami birds that chirped happily and flew straight to it's tree after that.
"That's great, that's great..."
Caelus then was able to hear Topaz in distance saying to somebody to 'back off and leave her phone and Numby in peace'.
"Topaz you okay there?"
"Yes, no... but I will be if someone try his luck one more time, but let's come back to reason of my call. So you have some time to meet with me and help with some special case?"
"How special?"
"Trust me it's better to see it with your own eyes."
After thinking this out Caelus decided to agree and help white haired woman after all they often were helping each other out in different situations. "Alright, where do you want to meet?"
"I will send you address and order you transport, so don't worry. Thank you and see you there."
Before Topaz hung up Caelus could hear her telling to someone 'to not chase Numby' what make silver haired man even more curious with what she need help and if it will be some of her new animals judging from what he heard.
When he arrived to agreed place he noticed Topaz standing with Numby in her arms and looking warry to the side.
When he left car he immediately came closer to white haired woman.
"Hi Topaz, so what is it that you need my help with?"
"Caelus beware!"
Before silver haired man was able to react he was tackled down. When he looked up at who jumped at him he noticed Aventurine, but he was different than he remembered him. His eyes were cat like and behind him was swaying fluffy tail.
"Got you my friend." Said blond man and started to energetically rubing his cheek on confused silver haired man one.
In the process his hat fell off reveling two fluffy ears on top of his head.
"Topaz what's going on?"
"I'm sorry I should at least warm you in the message. Now Aventurine let him go and stand up instead of sitting on this dirty ground."
After some more time of trying to convince blond man to let go, Aventurine finally let Caelus stand, but still was standing close by.
"Alright let me explain everything now when you're finally up. We were sent to a mission and everything seemed to go well until one of people there started to argue more and more and wanted to leave without doing part that he was supposed to. Aventurine started to fallow after him, but he screamed that he don't care about any deals and started to shoot with this unknown weapon. Thankfully security caught him before he was able to do more harm, but beam from this unknown weapon hit Aventurine. At... Caelus don't move your left hand."
"What why?" Silver haired man instinctively moved his hand to his chest and almost ended up again on the ground when Aventurine pounced at him. "Why again?"
"He was eyeing your ribbon." Topaz pointed on Caelus long golden ribbon that Aventurine was playing now with. "Anyway coming back to what I was telling. At first it's seemed that it didn't do anything, but later he started getting cat features and then as you see yourself he started to behave like one. He started meowing that he want to see you that's why I called. So I wanted to ask can you look after him? Researcher's said it will wear off, but it's better that someone is looking after him because he can't control his new cat instincts and got free days to recover. Ofcourse I will repay you somehow for that, so will you watch over him?"
Aventurine got bored with Caelus ribbon and was eyeing birds flying around, his fluffy tail was swaying energetically from one side to another.
After thinking everything out Caelus took deep breath and nodded his head.
"Okay I will watch over him, but is there anything more that I need to know?"
"Thank you. It wasn't tested, but it's better to avoid things that can be harmful for real cats you never know. Main thing is he behave a lot like cat so beware for bird, fishes and other interesting for cats things, he almost fall to the pond after watching fishes when we were waiting for his test results."
"It's not that bad my friend she is exaggerating... oh what is that?" And like that Aventurine got distracted by some reflected on wall light.
"I see, I will try my best to keep him from any troubles."
"If it will get bad you can always call me, I will send somebody or personally take care of it. Now I need to take care of my work. Thank you again." Then Topaz put her hand on Caelus shoulder and add. "Good luck." After what together with Numby went away.
"Alright Aventurine what do you... wait Aventurine?"
Caelus noticed that blond man that was just moment nearby disappeared.
Silver haired man started to look around only to notice Aventurine on tree.
"How?" Caelus shook his head. "That not important what is more is can you go down please?"
"I would love to, but I can't." Said Aventurine and his ears went down and tail rolled around his leg.
"Don't move, I will help you."
Caelus carefully climbed on tree and helped blond man with going down. When they finally got back on the ground silver haired man caught Aventurine hand in his.
"That's so you will not run into any more troubles. Now is there something you want to do?"
"I'm fine with holding hands." He took their interwined hands up and then he rubbed Caelus hand to his cheek. "We can go for a walk then we can get something to eat."
"Alrigh, but just for moment and don't let go of my hand during it. Also we will better just order something later, so I can make sure it will be safe for you."
"Of course my friend, I wouldn't wish to let go."
They then went to closest park and were slowly walking enjoying their time until Aventurine noticed something in distance.
"Can I go just for a moment? To just fastly check on it and I will immediately be back."
"You promised to not let go of my hand, so keep your promise please. I don't want you to get stuck somewhere again."
"But just for moment I saw something moving in those bushes it may be some bird or squirrel."
"No means no, you will end up in another troubles and I'm not taking you down from tree again."
"Alright..." Said a little disappointed Avgin with his ears down that immediately shoot up moment later. "Wait what is that tasty smell?"
After that Aventurine started to fastly go straight to source of nice smell bringing behind him Traiblazer. When Caelus noticed that he is going to snack stall he immediately checked in his phone if this food can be harmful for cats.
"Wait before you buy anything I need to ask for ingredients to make sure you will not get sick."
"What about buying this baked food?"
Caelus finally looked away from his phone and looked at sweet treats that Aventurine was showing to him.
"Sorry, but it's unfortunately a no for you. From here I can see chocolate on it. But don't worry as long as you are in this state I will look for things you can safely eat and are still good, also I will buy for myself the same things, so today we eat carefully."
"Caelus you really don't have to. You can buy whatever you want, you don't need to say no to any treats you want because of me."
"You're right I don't need, but I want to, so let's order some snacks for us."
Aventurine nodded and squeezed Caelus hand stronger. They check on some food stalls and after Caelus carefully checked them up they get themselves some cat friendly snacks.
They decided to sit down near fountain and enjoy their food in peace, at least in peace to the moment when Avgin ears shoot up when he heard something close by and silver haired man needed to hold him in place.
After finishing their snacks they standed up and decided to continue their walk. Caelus walked closer to fountain and lightly splashed some wather at Aventurine that immediately jumped away and looked at Traiblazer like he greatly betrayed him. After moment of laughing silver haired man apologised and patted blond man head and soon everything was forgiven.
They walked some more time and in the meantime between Aventurine getting interested in different sounds and smells he also was hiding from any to loud noises and dogs on walk, in those moments Caelus fastly take him to the side, so he will not hiss or maybe even worse try to come closer and start fight with them.
After the walk they decided to go to shopping centre.
While Aventurine was busy with watching fishes swimming in the aquarium Caelus checked stores with food and ordered for them takeout food for later.
'Maybe I should order some food with fish? He seems to want some, but I must make sure it will be safe and without fish bones, so he will not try to eat it whole and hurt himself in process.'
"My dear friend can we come in?" Asked blond man after finally leaving aquarium.
"For what you want to go to pet store?"
"To look around. I promise to hold your hand and I will try not to get distracted by any animals there."
"Fine, but you better keep your promise, your concentration now often stop working properly especially when you see or hear something interesting."
"I will, don't worry."
When they entered shop they noticed a lot of alleys with different animals products, toys and accessories. Caelus could feel that Aventurine is fighting his cat instincts by his moving around and restlessly wagging tail. Some shelfs later Avgin attention finally focused on small containers with toys for cats.
"If you want we can get you some toys that you like. It will not be any problem you can later take it for your cats, so pick something then tell me I will pay for it."
"Thank you, but I can pay for it after all it's part of my problem."
"Don't worry and treat that as a gift. I was hoping to buy something different as gift for you, but we can take care of this another time, for now pick whatever will catch your eye."
Aventurine was walking around shelfs checking on all toys one after another. Finally he picked one looking like ball of wool and one like small mouse plush, then after buying them they went straight to hotel room.
Caelus immediately laid down on the bed and put his arm on his eyes, but his rest didn't last long when he heard moving curtains. When he looked in the direction of windows he noticed Aventurine playing with curtains and pulling them down.
"Please just don't destroy curtains. Can you try to hold your cat instincts or it's still to hard?"
"Sorry my friend, but no matter how hard I try when something catch my attention I still can't stop myself."
"Don't worry it's not your fault, but I was thinking that after all this attractions you will be at least a little tired cats often sleep a lot during day."
"I don't feel tired, I have a lot of energy."
With difficulty blond man finally let go of curtains and sit down comfortably on bed near Traiblazer who didn't waste any time and petted fluffy tail that was lying near him.
Against his words Avgin head started to slowly fall down when he started to doze off. Caelus lightly smiled and stopped himself from laughing to not wake Aventurine up. But before blond man was able to fully fall asleep his ears shoot up and soon they heard knocking to the door what wake him up.
"That's probably our food. I will take it." Said Caelus and standed from bed. Moments later he came back with food he specially ordered for them and put it on table. Interested Aventurine standed up and watched Traiblazer from behind.
"You can sit down, I will take care of this."
"Alright then my friend."
Aventurine sat down behind the table and started to play with paper container.
Soon Caelus put ready food on plates and they started to eat peacefully, but some moment later he again feel piercing gaze on himself. Silver haired man looked from his food to see big cat eyes looking at him.
"What's up Aventurine?" Caelus didn't know why he is looking at him like this and was hoping that blond man will not pounce at him again.
Avgin slowly stand up and wordlessly went closer to Caelus that was getting ready for any potential attack. When Aventurine standed near him he slowly put his hand on silver haired man chin and then licked his cheek. After that he immediately came back to his seat leaving suprised Traiblazer.
"You have some of your food on your cheek." Was all that still in daze Caelus heard.
Rest of the dinner went without any more suprises, after finishing eating and cleaning silver haired man decided to get ready to bed.
"Alright I will go get ready to sleep and you can open one of toys you pic in the meantime. I hope that your cat instincts will not go crazy when I will go to the bathroom."
"Don't worry my friend it wasn't that bad as for now, so surely it will be good too."
"I hope so."
During his whole time in bathroom Caelus was afraid that he will hear something crashing and that room will look like cataclysm went through it, but what was even more concerning was that he didn't hear anything, no running, no playing just nothing.
When he cautiously went out of bathroom he noticed Aventurine laying on floor with plush mouse in his hands.
"Aventurine are you okay?"
"Shh you will scare them."
"Scare who?"
"Mice out there." Blond man then pointed to the ceiling.
Caelus fastly looked up to thankfully see nothing there. "Okay?" Silver haired man then slowly went to left on floor toy container and what he read on back of it explained everything. "Catnip... he got high on catnip. I shouldn't let my guard down and check on toys throughly too."
Caelus then looked on blond man that was slowly waving his hand up.
"Alright give me this and let's get you ready to sleep."
Caelus fastly snatched toy, wrapped it and hide away, after what he fastly checked another toy that thankfully was catnipless.
"Huh?" After some time finally reacted Aventurine when Caelus was trying to help him stand up. When he noticed that he is leaded to bathroom he started to try get free. "I don't want water..."
"Don't worry we will take care of this fast then we will go straight to sleep. I don't want to know what you will be able to do on catnip." Last part added quietly silver haired man.
After getting ready to bed, what Caelus felt that if blond man would have claws as well then after bathroom time he will end up with a lot of different wounds, so he was thankful for at least being safe with that part, they finally were laying in bed.
When Caelus was slowly dozing off he felt hands on his chest that started to knead his stomach lightly.
"Aventurine what are you..." Silver haired man stopped when he heard purring. He decided to let blond man make biscuits in peace.
When Aventurine was satisfied he laid his head on Caelus chest and while still purring fall asleep. Caelus petted his head lightly and fall asleep some time later.
When Traiblazer woke up next day he didn't feel weight on his chest anymore. He opened his eyes slowly to notice blond man siting on bed with his hands covering his face and his cat ears were gone.
"Aventurine?" Asked sleepily Caelus.
"I'm sorry..." Said quietly Avgin, what Caelus barely heard.
"What?"
"I'm sorry." Finally Aventurine took his hands down, revealing slightly red face, then looked at Traiblazer and spoken louder. "I'm really sorry for yesterday and all those things I have done."
Caelus sit up and put his head on blond man shoulder. "Don't worry and don't beat yourself over it. It was incident and you couldn't control it. Also I liked your fluffy tail and ears and when you stated to make biscuits and purr..."
Aventurine groaned and again hid his face in his hands for what Caelus laughed.
"But really it not a problem and I'm happy that I was able to help and spend time with you in the process."
"Thank you."
Caelus sneaked his arms around Aventurine and comfortably put his head on his chest. "It's still early and Topaz said you have free time. So let's use it more and first rest more and then we can spend more time together. What will you say?"
"I will say that I will gladly use this rare opportunity."
They then lay down still cuddled and came back to sleep.
