Chapter Text
Seyka ran. She ran as fast as her muscular body could. It was weird, really, that she was running straight towards the shimmer addicts. The worst of the worst. But she's heard rumours. Rumours of a saviour, helping other get past their addiction and healing them. But she'd also heard a couple enforcers showed up, and their leader, Ambessa Medarda. Even though it sounded nice to maybe get a new arm, a real arm, she didn't need it. She needed to focus on who she was running for. She was running to Jinx. Jinx and Isha. They were like family to her. Even though she'd never say it out loud, she viewed them as family. Before, when Silco was alive, she just thought Jinx was an annoying girl. But now, after Isha entered their lifes, and Silco's life slipped from them, she saw everything differently. Isha ment more for Jinx, and Isha valued Jinx more than her. But she was fine with it. As long as they were safe. As long as she got to protect them from Piltover and their enforcers.
And now they were in danger, and she... she wasn't with them. She was close, she knew she was. The smell of shimmer, even as though she couldn't see the place. She ran through some rocks, stretching up towards the sky. Almost like mountains.
Her body hurt. She had tripped on the way, and with only one arm to catch her, she went straight to the ground. But it was starting to numb out, it always did, it had to.
As she kept on sprinting, she saw the place. It was often almost described as a palace, but this? This looked even worse than she remebered.
When she was close to the entrance, she looked around, and saw some tents on the top of the rocks. Enforcers.
"Shit"
She ran even more, hiding behing one of the houses that were barely able to stand up due to the damage.
She crouched down, listening and shooting looks over her shoulder to check if any Pilties were near her.
Nope, no one. The coast was clear.
"Jinx?" she whispered.
No one answered.
"Jinx?" ashe asked louder, this time standing up and walking to the middle.
"Jinx!" She basically hissed. But still, no answer. Where the hell was Jinx?
"Jinx i swear-" she stopped talking when she felt something hard hit her foot. she winced, her foot hurting after all the running.
She tilted her head to look down, ignoring the throbbing in her foot, and her heart. It was a helmet. But it wasnt the the Enforcers helmet. No, it had goggles attached to it and it didn't seem like it was supposed to cover the face.
She swore she had seen this helmet before-
Her heart sank, and she picked up the helmet. No, it couldn't be. She almost felt tears in her eyes. Almost.
After studying the helmet for a good minute, she was sure it was the little girl's helmet.
She had probably lost it on her way.
Sevika sighed and kept going. But not far away, something seemed to be lying. And it wasn't just something, it was someone. Maybe it was an Enforcer? Maybe it had a few weapons?
Sevika walked towards it, but the closer she got, the smaller the person became. So it wasn't an Enforcer, because who in their right minds would make a kid fight for a city. But one she got closer, she recognised the figure. Just like she had done with the helmet, she kneeled down and pushed a few strands of hair away from their face.
Isha.
Isha's dead body was lying in front of her.
One of the only people she told herself that she would protect, no matter how much it would cost her, was dead. And she didn't even get to try and save her.
She scooped up the body, and it was suprisingly not that hard. She already knew that Isha weighted less than a feather, but the fact that the body wasnt hard as rocks yet meant she didn't die that long ago. Maybe she died a few minutes ago, but then, Jinx would probably be there, screaming.
"Isha." She tried. it couldn't hurt, right? "Isha" Quiet as a mouse. The tears threatened to fall.
No. She reminded herself. Isha wouldn't want this.
"Please" She begged, resting her face on the kid's stomach.
Movement. She'd grown quite fond of movement. It helped her detect where her enemies were going to hit, or shoot for that matter.
But this wasn't a life threatening situation. It was the body of a child, whom she thought had died.
"Isha?" She lifted her head and looked at the kid's face, and she saw her open her eyes slowly. Isha looked around, probably searching for Jinx, before she became calm again. She looked up at Seyka, a smile forming on her little lips.
Her hand reached up, cupping Sevkia's face as if checking if she's real.
"Yes, it's me" She managed to get out. She couldn't express emotion infront of the kid, no, she's been through enough already. But the tears were trying to press through.
"I-Im sorry Jinx isn't here, she probably.. ran somewhere."
Isha gave her a small nod, she understood. But as she looked at the kid, she saw an expression she hadn't seen on her face for a long time.
"It's okay to cry" Sevika reassured. She told Isha the things she wished she had been told at that age. But no, she'd grown up mostly alone, sometimes she met a few people, but they were shimmer addicts, and weren't much.
With those simple words, Isha broke down and sobbed. The sobs turned into real crying once Isha seemed to realise what had happened. She buried her face in the crook of her neck, the little body shaking up and down.
"Shh, it's okay, it's okay." She told the child. She stroked her short hair, up and down and in circles. She wanted Isha to calm down, because she knew that the enforcer could be just around the corner. But at the same time, Isha needed this. She needed to get it out of her system.
"Jinx" Isha managed to whisper, before hiccuping. It sounded more like she said Jinss, but the kid barely spoke, so who could blame her? At least now she wasn't crying anymore.
"We're gonna find Jinx, dont worry" She stood up, Isha almost slumped over her shoulder. She held her like she'd seen a couple of mothers hold their children, with the only arm she had under Isha's legs and her hand on her stomach. It was like bridal style, exept with one hand because she lost her prosthetic to those stupid, fucking enforcers.
"Well, look who finally decided to show up"
