"Man, you don't get it! She was a hottie, I'm telling you" The green clad hero groans as his other green clad friend (the one with the arrows) pats him on the back.
"At this point what's the point of saving the world if I can't even have one hot lady waiting for me at home" Billy knows he was joking, and that it wasn't that serious as the others in the room chuckled in amusement but the scene made his stomach churn. He didn't like it.
"Seriously, you need to go find some other woman to get laid. This is honestly pretty pathetic to watch" And yeah, Billy knows that Flash also meant that in a joking way but he couldn't help but let the words of agreement slip out.
"Yeah, it is really pathetic" He says.
It's silent for a few seconds.
Billy blinks innocently as the rest of the heroes present, turn to look at him in surprise. Even Batman and Superman who were off to the side having their own small conversation paused. Green Lantern himself doesn't seem happy with his words.
"What do you mean by that cap?" Lantern says guarded, noticing the very much not joking tone of his voice compared to the flash.
Marvel blinks before sheepishly rubbing the back of his head as he smiles at him.
"Well yeah, if that's one of the reasons that influences you to help others, I really do believe it's pretty pathetic." Someone goes to say something but he continues before they could, "and I don't mean to say this to be mean or anything, but it's true."
"We all became heroes for a reason, and I know that's definitely not the main or hopefully not the first for why you had become one, but then again... I just don't really get how one's lust can even be associated with what we do." He frowns though his glance is more disappointed as he looks at all the heroes he heard joking about getting a hot woman out of their heroics.
"It's just sad. I feel like after everything we've done and been through we'd know better than to even joke about our purpose of saving people. The things we've seen, the people we've met..."
"It was just a joke Cap" Aquaman goes to say, but he just shakes his head with a sad smile.
"I genuinely didn't find it funny." His words impacted all the members of the league deeply, as the man is known to find everything funny. Like a child, he'd be stifling his laughs if one of them were to fall victim to a pity prank, or end up tripping on thin air. Over the smallest things he'd laugh, but right now...
"Seriously guys- I get you all have been doing this longer than I have but, just two years of flying around and witnessing all that we do? It's not something I'd want to water down to something so, I don't know, childish?"
Being called childish by Captain Marvel would have made them laugh at the irony on any other day, but today, it just made them feel...
Marvel sighs and sends them all a judging look.
It made them feel... not good about themselves, that's for sure.
"I'm gonna make my way back to Fawcett City, I think I should get back to patrol. Have fun" He smiles but it's tinted sadly as he shakes his head again and leaves.
They all feel like kids left to think of their actions after doing something immature.
And considering what Marvel just called them out on, they do suddenly feel like immature horny teens.
Batman and Superman share a glance, the two not having been involved in the other males shenanigans. It's a good thing Wonder Woman and Black Canary weren't here to witness this. He's sure they also would have had a few words with their fellow team mates.

Billy was just making his way across the watch tower and he happened to hear their conversation. It wasn't on purpose! They were there and speaking so loud and he did have super hearing in this form so it wasn't like he wanted to hear the female heroes talking about their love lives.
Wait, was Wonder Woman one of them?
What.
He pops up next to Black Canary as she reassures Wonder Woman (WONDER WOMAN?) that any guy would want her... another woman, Hawk girl, agrees and pats her shoulder. He also notices Zatanna there.
"What." He says, which makes Canary jump and wack him on the arm for scaring her (without any real force of course, not that he'd feel it either way).
"Captain? What are you doing here" Zatanna says, confused at his appearance and his perplexed state.
Billy scrunches up his face and cocks his head at the group of women in front of him.
"What do you mean that you're not sure if any guy would want you?" Wonder Woman coughs, blushing a bit in embarrassment. The other girls also send him glares but he ignores them.
"Those weren't the exact words, but it's nothing really. Just useless thoughts"
He relaxes and nods, "Good, I mean it'd be dumb if you actually felt like that" Someone gasped and another was about to say something but he continues once again, "I mean, you're Wonder Woman. Like, literally sculpted by the gods, Wonder Woman. It'd be weird if you were like, insecure over some normal guys ever liking you" He says with a shrug.
"And like, any of you guys would be too good to be worried over a man. You guys literally have super cool powers and have saved the world- many times! Like, it'd be really silly for one of your problems to be about a boy rather than all your other previous problems, like dealing with demons and natural disasters and stuff." He laughs a bit at the idea. He couldn't fathom these powerful women ever being wound up over a guy. That's stupid.
Wonder Woman stares at him for a moment before standing straight and grinning.
"You're correct brother, that would be quite silly of me" He grins back at the older woman.
The other female heroes present blush in embarrassment, given both an ego boost and reality check by the childish man. His words were sweet and they couldn't help but look at him with a fondness they'd hold for a little brother.
"Wow Cap, didn't know you thought so highly of us" Black Canary says as she wraps an arm around the other. He laughs.
"Of course I do! You guys are great"
Many are flattered and they allow the man to join their conversation as they decide to change the subject to something more important. Which Billy believes is which flavored ice-cream is best?
The other heroes couldn't help but agree that it was a better conversation than the previous.

These incidents showed the League that despite the air headed persona Cap seems to wear, he does hold a maturity to him that really goes to show the wisdom of Solomon the man seems to bear.
But really, it also made them all rethink themselves and why they became a hero in the first place. It can be so easy to forget their goals and what inspires them to survive each day. It sends a pang to each of their hearts to know that Captain Marvel never seems to forget that. And he doesn't hesitate in reminding everyone of that, or telling them to stand up and get their shit together in his own way.
They can only be grateful for it.
