Chapter 1: |Day 1: Masterpiece | Hwang Hyunjin X GN!Reader|

Chapter Text

“Just hold still, dear; you’re practically sparkling.”  Hyunjin said as he finished his sketch of Y/n on his canvas, they couldn't help but feel a little joyful that their lover was painting them; maybe that's why they can't keep themselves still. It was a beautiful day in the forest, and with beautiful flowers and glimmering ponds just outside their cottage, how could Hyunjin resist the want to solidify his partner in oil paints? The fairy was the only thing that the scene was missing. The air felt sweet in Hyunjin's lungs, maybe from the flowers or the stream Y/N sat near, but he liked to believe everything in his life was sweeter because of the loving fairy he shared a home with.

His brush picked up a small smear of pink on his brush and applied it to the first of the roses he would paint by y/n's feet, painting them as delicately as he could. "Don’t worry about every detail too much; I’ll love it no matter what, my love.” “You love those drawings from the village children; you deserve something that captures your essence as it is truly.” Hyunjin was no doubt critical of his art, no matter how much Y/N told him how pretty his paintings and sketches were, but maybe his problem was that none of them contained his world in them. The fairy smiled at Hyunjin whenever their eyes met; the human's heart palpitated as though mere eye contact with the fairy filled him with sugar and honey, though it didn’t stir his attention away from the painting. In fact, Y/N’s eyes and smile and his whole being only encouraged Hyunjin to keep painting in hopes of sealing this moment in time forever, creating a time capsule of the way Hyunjin felt and saw the fairy in this moment in forever passing time.

The painting was finished throughout the course of the morning, the evening, and the next day; Y/N had to coerce him with some tea at night just to get him to sleep. Hyunjin was up before breakfast when he had finished it, and he carefully hung it on a wall in the cottage he had preserved for his magnum opus; Y/N came in shortly after. “Oh honey…” a warm, and welcomed blush spread onto y/n’s face like a morning breeze upon seeing Hyunjin’s work, “it’s almost as beautiful as the real thing.” Hyunjin smiled and gently pulled Y/N into his arms as their eyes were kept on the painting. “That can’t be me… You must’ve had some other inspiration.” Y/N felt flustered at such a scene of them in their natural state, how organically beautiful it was.

“There is none more beautiful than you, my masterpiece.”
