Summary
“You have me!” He shouted out, the rumbling of the sky making this scene much more powerful. His disparity echoed against the walls of the alleyway. He wanted me to really hear the words he said. The words that had not hesitated to leave his mouth. Because even if I don’t believe in anything, not in the gods, not in myself…he needed me to believe in him. He desperately needed me to believe in the love he had for me.
“You’ll always have me, Selene. No matter what happens, no matter what you tell me. No matter what you do. You have me. And I’m not going to let you go.” The way his face scrunched up woke something within me. A spark that I had not felt in ages. A certain hunger for calling out to something that never answered me. But it felt different. This time, I knew that a voice would call back to me. Though it never would before.
