"Have you ever kissed someone, Boreas?" Questioned Helios.
"WHAT?" exclaimed Boreas, cheeks tinted with a bit of red. "So you have?" Helios remarked with a expression Boreas can't describe. Calming himself down, Boreas cleared his throat before answering. "N-no, just surprised is all." Said Boreas with a slight chuckle towards the end. "Why are you asking me this?" Asked Boreas.
"I'm just curious is all, I mean someone as popular as you, I surely would've thought you'd been kissed before." Answered Helios. That had Boreas thinking, since when was he popular? He was sure out of the two of them, Helios was the much more popular one. After all, he was the one receiving chocolates left and right during valentines day meanwhile Boreas only got a few. Not that he mind, in fact, he much rather be it that way.
Still, Boreas can't help but let his heart flutter just slightly faster than usual. Anticipation. Hope. Is what Boreas felt when he was asked that question, but he knows it was merely out of curiosity. It tugs his heart strings, some times he wishes he wasn't so in tune with reality like he is right now.
Building up a bit of courage, he a let out a breath. "What did you mean by that? Since when was I popular?" Boreas asked with confusion written on his face.
Helios, let's out a small laugh. "You're so dense, I feel pity for you admirers." Said Helios. Boreas merely scowls. "I'm not dense! I just... don't really take notice of my surroundings.." 'More like I have no time looking at others when I'm too busy looking at you' is what Boreas would've like to say in continuation, but he shall keep those feelings buried. "Sure you aren't, anyways aren't you curious what's it like to kiss someone?" Boreas blinked at that comment left by Helios. What was he trying to imply here? Is he looking too deep into this? God, why must feelings be so complicated.
"I don't know, I've never really thought about it, why? Wanna try it out ourselves?" RED ALERT RED ALERT!!!!! Boreas can't believe he just said that, since when did he become so BOLD?!?!??!? Now, he can only look away in shame and embarrassment.
"Okay," was all Helios said. "It's just a light touch. It shouldn't be anything big." Was Helios really serious right now? Was HE actually doing it right now?
As they both grew closer, Boreas saw Helios' eyes closing, slowly he panicked, and when he panics, he did things he regrets. Boreas puts his hand onto Helios' lips. "Wh-"
"You didn't actually think I was serious, right?" Boreas said quickly, face flushing red. Helios only stared at him blankly... and was that disappointment? Now Boreas really has gone into unknown territory. This made Boreas more panicked than ever. "I-I mean you wouldn't your first kiss to be a result of a curios attempt, right?" Boreas chuckled awkwardly.
Helios closes his eyes and let's out a deep sigh "I guess you have a point" After that there was silence as break time had ended and everyone started to fill in the classroom that once only consisted of both of them.
It was for the best, right? Boreas couldn't help but think that the aftermath of what could've been a kiss would only lead to disaster. It's fine. He reassures himself.
Boreas was wrong. He was so wrong. He said it would only become a regret to both of them if they kissed that day, and yet here he is, regretting those very words that spilt out of his foul mouth. He regrets not taking that chance. It's so foolish now.
He wished he had kissed Helios when he was still warm.
