Chapter 1: Prologue
Chapter Text
It was a Monday afternoon when Tucker posted his first TikTok. He figured that he could put his tech skills to good use and teach others. What he hadn’t realised prior to posting was that one) He had filmed the video with his back to the kitchen, two) Danny was in frame, and three) What he and his roommate got up to in their free time was not considered normal. Hence the flood of comments on his suddenly viral TikTok.
Tucker stares vacantly at the repeating video long enough for Danny to grow concerned over his best friend’s behaviour.
“You alright?” He asks.
“Yep, just dandy.” Tucker forces out. Danny looks at the video and bursts out laughing at the sight of himself being eaten by the refrigerator. “It’s not funny Danny! I’ve gone viral!” Tucker complains before seemingly realising something, “Oh ancients! Your sister is going to kill me!”
Danny only laughs at his face. “It’s alright Tucker, she’s already seen it. Thinks its funny too.” He reassures his friend. “I honestly think you should keep it up!” Danny says encouragingly, “I think it’s great.”
“Are you sure?” Tucker asks unsurely.
“Go for it man. I want to see what happens.”
“You’re a chaotic little shit you know that?”
“Jazz mentions it sometimes.”
“More like every time you check in.” Tucker mutters with a deadpan. Danny only laughs at him. Again.

Tim was lazing on his bed. He’d been forced to take a break much to his chagrin. He was in actuality supposed to be asleep considering he’d been cut off from his life’s blood and work, but what his family didn’t know wouldn’t kill them.
He absent-mindedly scrolls through his for you before coming across a tech self-help page. The likes count is higher than what Tim originally expected from a video that is clearly taken with a phone and in poor lighting.
Interested he waits and is not disappointed. The video starts with a dark-skinned man wearing a red beanie greeting the camera. “Hello! I’m Tuck, and I figured I’d start a TikTok to share some of my skills.” He steps back to allow his surroundings to enter the frame. He is standing in a living room with the doorway to the kitchen seen clearly on the right-hand side of the frame. “I figured I’d start with how to switch out the- “Tim stops listening at that point because someone, maybe his roommate, steps into frame and through the kitchen door. The other person can’t be seen well due to the lighting but Tim can sparse that they have black hair and are wearing a NASA jacket. Tim frowns and tunes back into Tuck’s explanation. All is well for a few minutes before a loud growling can be heard in the background, drawing Tim’s attention back to the roommate.
The only thing he can do it gape as he watches the other man on screen lean half of his body into the clearly growling refrigerator and Tuck doesn’t even react. The growling is loud, and Tuck is definitely raising his voice to be heard over the noise which clearly ruled out the theory that he no idea what is happening.
Tim pales as he observes the fridge begin to shake and vibrate its way across the kitchen and out of view. “And that’s a wrap!” Tuck exclaims to the camera, not once looking behind himself despite both him and the camera also vibrating along with the fridge. “Thank you to everyone who stuck around until the end, it means a lot. I may do another one of these.” He says casually as all noise in the background suddenly cuts off.
He gives a final wave before the video loops.
Tim is gobsmacked. He is speechless. The only thing he can do is gape.
“What the fuck.” He manages to force out, already knowing he is going to be spending a long while obsessing over this.
Chapter 2: In Which Danny Is At War
Summary:
He goes to war. What else can I say?
Chapter Text
The second video opens the same as the first one did. Tuck introduces himself and begins to explain his reasoning behind his preference for outdated tech and how to fix your own commercially made tech at home without having to pay a ridiculous amount of money to get it fixed by the same company you got it from. Tim can understand that kind of reasoning.
But the longer he watches the more he begins to notice the same roommate from the first video. The lighting has since improved from the first and more of the roommate’s features can be seen. He has unnaturally pallid skin, startling blue eyes and black hair. Prime adoption bait, if the rest of the Gotham population were to be asked.
Besides that, the roommate is in the kitchen again. Facing off against the fridge again. Said fridge is not growling this time, however the camera is still noticeably shaking. Of which Tim finds notably more ominous. He watches as the roommate opens the fridge and a blur of pale skin launches from within the cool depths with a war cry that is immediately followed by blurs of red and smaller but no less startling cries of war.
The roommate yelps as he attempts to fight off the sudden invasion.
“Tuck! Help! The chicken’s reanimated again and the hotdogs have unionized!” The roommate cries, brandishing a frying pan to fight off the horde.
Tuck seems to finally react to the absurdity occurring behind him much to Tim’s relief. Said relief however is short lived when Tuck replies with; “They tried that on Monday. At least they’re not using the toaster as a cannon this time.”
Tuck’s roommate shrieks and slams the frying pan into a hotdog at his ankle. “Little shit bit me! Alright that’s it, this is a declaration of war. I will not stop until there are none of you fuckers remaining.” The roommate swears seriously before launching himself into the fight with a war cry of his own.
“Danny, you said that on Monday as well and I’m pretty sure there’s still a piece of cheese revolting in the dairy drawer.” Tuck sighs and turns back to his video, proceeding to leave the ensuing war zone to its own devices.
It is as the video is wrapping up that the roommate, Danny, lets out a cry of victory as he gathers the apparent corpses of his defeated enemies. “We’re having hotdogs for dinner Tuck! And chicken sandwiches.”
Tuck ignores him.
“And that’s a wrap! Thank you for watching this far, I’ve been enjoying creating these, so I’ve decided to make this a semi-regular thing. I will be posting Wednesdays and Saturdays, and I just have to say one final thank you the current support has meant a lot!” Tuck explains like he is completely unaware of the primary contents of his comments section and the incredulity of his viewers.
In fact as soon as the video loops Tim pulls up the comments.
‘Omg what are these effects??’
‘wtf?’
‘Are these special effects or is this shit real?’
‘His roommate lmao!’
Tim supposes he can only be grateful he isn’t the only one questioning the insanity of the roommates’ kitchen. He shakes his head and proceeds to run Tuck’s name and face through the bat computer. It pings near instantaneously.
‘Tucker Foley
21 years old
Graduated from Casper High School
Attending Gotham University’
That last bit makes Tim pause. They were located in Gotham?
Tim figures this isn’t going to end well.

Danny and Tucker think this is great, less so Sam and Jazz despite finding it humourous. Scrolling through the comments section has become a team bonding activity. And so has trolling Tuck’s viewers by purposely giving obtuse and vague answers.
Danny thinks he understands why Clockwork enjoys speaking in circles around him and his friends now.
He also figures that there is no way his involvement with the internet can go wrong. Which, while objectively correct, is however also balancing on technicalities. Said technicalities could also be described as plates balanced on sticks, which are in turn being balanced by an individual with perpetually no talent whatsoever. One may even say that the involvement of one Daniel Fenton with the internet is bound to end terribly when faced with the previous odds.
Chapter 3: In Which Danny Makes Holy Water
Summary:
And sets the kitchen on fire.
Notes:
So sorry about the delay.
Writers block, starting year twelve, helping my friend who got kicked out twelve months before the end of school. It all gets so overwhelming.
Anyway I'm back and I hope you all enjoy this installation.
Chapter Text
The third video of the account is posted on a Wednesday. Tim has admittedly had a really bad day. First there was the company presentation for Wayne Industries that went disastrously overtime, then he spilled his coffee which never happens, and then there was patrol, where everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong.
The confrontation between himself and a robber resulted in a shallow gunshot wound to the shoulder, Dick had managed to fumble on his grapple and trip himself into the side of a building and broke his nose (shocking considering the man is an acrobat), Damien dislocated a shoulder, and Jason had shot a man. In conclusion, a really bad day.
Now on bedrest, not that he thinks he needs it (It’s just a graze Bruce), Tim is bored. Scrolling through tiktok is his solution. Coming across Tuck’s third video is a surprise, although maybe he should really turn his notifications for the channel on, but it starts the same as usual. Tuck greets his viewers and introduces himself along with his topic of the day. He is still located in the same area, still facing away from the kitchen, where his roommate Danny is apparently doing something with the stove.
“And so, you replace the battery using this screwdriver, don’t worry if you don’t have one, I’ll be showing you how to make one very shortly-” Tuck explains and is cut off by a great billowing boom from the kitchen.
The stove is ablaze, Danny watches dispassionately as he watches whatever he was making burn.
“Danny what are you doing?” Tuck asks, turning around to face the other man.
“Makin’ holy water.” Danny replies blithely.
“Why? And how?”
“Bathroom’s haunted.”
“What?”
“Bathroom’s haunted.” He repeats.
“Right. That still doesn’t answer how you’re making holy water.” Tuck complains lightly.
“’m boiling the hell out of it.” Danny answers in a mumble and focuses on his task.
“Danny it’s on fire.”
“Exactly, that’s hell leaving the water.” Danny reasons evenly.
“I don’t think that’s how that works. Also, you’re going to burn down the kitchen again.”
“Again? I haven’t ever burned down the kitchen.” Danny complains, looking offended. “Also, what would you know about making holy water. I haven’t ever even seen you try.”
“True-”
Tuck gets cut off when Danny says, “So you admit I’m right.”
“I never said you were wrong.” Tucker defends himself. “Just that I don’t think that’s how it works.”
“I’m dead Tuck. And clearly, I’m still breathing despite it not being how being dead works. I can damn well do what I want with my afterlife.”
Tuck raises his hands in defeat and turns back to the camera to continue his tutorial. Right as he is about to say something he whirls around and calls out, “The stove is still on fire by the way.”
Danny looks over a deadpan expression on his face and dark eyebags that had their own bags packed, ready for their trip to nosleeplandia.
“I know.” He says and turns away. Tuck huffs and continues his tutorial. The tiktok ends on a normal note before repeating. Tim can only sit there in silence as he watches it again, because damn, Danny’s eyebags look more designer than Tim’s. Also, what did Danny mean by being dead? Surely there wasn’t another pit victim.
Hopefully not, Tim thinks, because that would be devastating and equally concerning. Does he experience pit rage like Jason? He really hopes not.
