“Why are you looking at me like that, Half-and-Half? Got something stuck in your head?”
Todoroki didn’t flinch at Katsuki’s growl as he held up a small photo, one Katsuki hadn’t seen in years. It was from their first 3rd year mission together, a picture taken by some obsessed fan. Katsuki looked to be yelling at someone, Todoroki his usual stoic self, but they looked entirely in sync.
“Where did you even find that?” Katsuki asked.
“I asked Midoriya,” Todoroki replied.
Katsuki’s eye twitched. “You asked Izuku? Are you trying to get me to call him to force him to take care of himself?”
“No, I’m trying to remind you how far you've come,” Todoroki said, setting the frame on Katsuki’s desk. “It was a good moment.”
“Good my ass,” Katsuki muttered, but he didn’t shove the frame away. He stared at it, his fingers twitching like he wanted to pick it up.
From the couch, Kaminari whispered, “Dude, Blasty looks soft.”
Shinso smirked. “He’s two seconds away from breaking, and it’s beautiful.”
Later that night, when the rest of the class had retreated back to their rooms, Katsuki found himself alone at the coffee table, the framed photo still within arm’s reach. Ready for him to take the picture back to his room.
It was stupid. Just a stupid picture of them from a few months ago, but it showed growth.
“Damn idiot,” he muttered, thumbing the edge of the frame. “Always gotta pull this crap.”
Across the common area, Kaminari and Shinso lounged on the couch, clearly not as subtle as they thought. Kaminari whispered into his boyfriend's ear who chuckled before leaning in to kiss him.
Katsuki snorted, turning back to the picture, “Bunch of idiot saps,” he muttered under his breath. Yet, instead of going upstairs and putting the photo away, he set it down carefully where it could stay in plain view. Just in case.
