Grian moved away, warm hands remaining on Scar’s shoulders. He was so close and held an almost electric gaze which Scar couldn’t really meet. Heart aching, he let even more tears flow down his cheeks.
“Don’t hurt yourself,” Grian whispered softly. “We all care for you. That’s why they called me back.”
“They called you back?”
“I was summoned,” the Watcher said, eyes momentarily flashing a subtle purple.
The words slipped out of Scar’s mouth before he thought about them. “I love you.”
