Rio Vidal’s first year of teaching elementary school comes with many challenges - challenges that she believes she is well prepared for, or at the very least, able to manage on the sly (or in the worst case scenario, be able to ask her teaching mentor): rowdy students, helicopter parents, classroom management - what have you.
This, however, she’s woefully unprepared for.
Her degree program did not meet this requirement; no training covered this either. She does not know what protocol dictates; her colleagues don’t have the experience either.
