Chapter Text
1.
Hal Jordan was the self-proclaimed king of ‘toughing-it-out’. In the words of his fellow Leaguers, he was a problem, and a menace, and the cause of a good handful of Batman’s newfound gray hairs.
Hal had just touched down in the Watchtower after a particularly harsh off-planet mission. Barry watched as his friend stood in the common room, looking around slowly.
“Hal? You good? How was your mission?” The brunette just looked at him, swaying slightly. A good amount of silence passed before Hal’s eyebrows scrunched up,
“What?” he slurred. The speedster felt time stop (not literally, he didn’t like time jumping all that much.) He blinked and put his hand on Hal’s shoulder.
“Hal…Are you drunk ?” The brunette blinked a few times before shaking his head, the white lenses of his mask closing with his eyes.
“...No…No! I-I’m not. Drunk. I’m good.” Barry did not believe him, but if Hal was gonna get in trouble with Bats, Barry wanted to be there to see it.
Hal would laugh about this later, preferably over shared drinks.
–
The meeting was incredibly boring, Barry had to give Hal that much. The other man was currently face down on the table, he was probably asleep, for all the speedster knew. He didn’t blame him, hell, now he wished had had a drink before he came.
“Flash.” Batman growled from his place at the head of the table. Barry gave him his full attention, eyebrows raising below his mask.
“Wake Jordan up, now.” Of course, because the Batman was too good to do it himself. Barry poked Hal’s shoulder, muttering a low ‘Hal wake up’. He got no response back from the Lantern. He tried again, this time thumping him on the back,
“Hal,” Barry said a little louder, dragging out his best friend’s name. The lack of response sent out red flags in the minds of the members watching the speedster try to wake the Green Lantern. Barry looked up at Bruce in a concerned manner when Hal shifted. Right out of his chair, and onto the floor.
“Hal!”
“Lantern?”
A few Leaguers had gathered around the man, who’s body made a concerning thump as he landed on the ground due to his suit having dissolved sometime during the meeting after he put his head down.
It was like magic, Hal’s eyes shot open before blinking hard, making Barry jump back startled.
“Hal? You good, man?” Hal paused, squinting up at the lights before saying slowly,
“...No.” Everyone looked around at each other before Hal continued,
“I think… my head hurts.”
“...Do you have a concussion?!”
“...Yes?”
“God damnit, Hal! You said you’d start going to the med bay when you got injured!”
“Oops.” The brunette passed out again as Clark scooped him off of the floor, resigned to carrying him bridal-style as Batman ended the meeting.
