“Jayce, please stop struggling.” says Viktor, as gently as he can, even if he knows his words must sound like a joke coming from his monstrous, misshapen form. “No harm will come to you, I promise.” he swears next, hoping his intent will shine through the cavernous echo of his voice, before carefully dragging the rough pad of his finger on Jayce’s cheekbone in the distorted semblance of a caress-
And then, by some miraculous chance, Jayce’s body goes limp in Viktor’s grip. There’s suddenly a spark of recognition inside his eyes, something that makes his mouth drop open and erases the enraged wrinkles on his face, and his lips move to form the shape of a familiar name, one that he used to know as well as his own-
Until Viktor brings him closer, mouth opening just enough to reveal his upper fangs, and bites him right on the neck.
(Six years after he became a vampire, Viktor has to defend himself and his spawns from a threat with a familiar face: the Alchemist that he created Hexbrew with, and the man that condemned him to a life of darkness.)
