In the image of the Immortal Phoenix of Shuriman myth, the body must be burnt after death so that the soul may be released from its mortal tether: free to return to the Sun, Mother of all Fires—return to the cycle of reincarnation, so one may proceed into their next life.

At dusk, she lights the pyre on a tranquil beach once marred by blood. At dawn, she collects the ashes and sows them into the lapping tides.
After her mother's death, Mel returns to Noxus. The past follows in her heels.
