Wind russelled against the fabric of their tent, sending a soft howl through the air. The sky had started to darken the last time he had seen it, the moon starting to rise above the horizon. Pangi had started unpacking his sleeping supplies. Pangi placed his bed, smoothing out the blanket with his claws. He placed a pillow onto his bed, fluffing it up slightly. He untied the shoes he was wearing, kicking them off into a corner. He tugged at the soft blanket, shifting it enough to slip under them. His eyes fluttered closed, letting him relax. Footsteps cautiously approached him, slowing as they creeped closer.
"Heyyy Pangi" Derapchu mumbled, hints of worry obvious in his voice. Pangi sat up, letting out a joking sigh. "What do you want man?" Pangi laughed, struggling to keep up his phony annoyance. Derapchu hesitated, trying to gather his words to form a sentence. "I uhm- totally might have forgotten my bed.." Derapchu stammered out, a bit of amusement peaking through his voice.
"Ohooh uhm..." Pangi stuttered, running through solutions in his head. "I- I could make room!" Pangi blurted, not entirely processing what he had just said. Derapchu raised an eyebrow at him, "Uh.. okay..?" He responded. Pangi inched away to make room for him, he hesitatently sat onto the bed. Pangi layed back down, tugging his blanket over himself. Derapchu took a few deep breaths, laying down to join Pangi. He pulled the blanket closer to combat the cold, pulling it off of Pangi.
"Dude. Don't hog the blanket??" He scolded, his voice taking a mix of anger and amusement. Pangi pulled the blanket from him, Derapchu scoffed at him. "I'm hogging the blanket? You have all of it!! I'm the one freezing over here!!" He argued, Derapchu tugged the blanket back. Pangi gasped at him, "How DARE you!!!!" He pulled the blanket back "Now I'm cold!!!" Pangi dramatized. "Pangi. Give me the blanket." Derapchu muttered. "No!!! You should've thought of that before you forgot your bed!!!" Pangi laughed, trying to keep the blanket away from Derapchu's hands.
Derapchu snagged it from him, pulling it up to his face. Pangi continued to grab at the blanket, trying hard to regain his grasp. "C'mon man!! Give me it!!" Pangi pleaded, continuing to reach further. "No!! I'm not gonna- OW!!" Derapchu abruptly cut himself off. Pangi had nicked him with his nail while reaching for the blanket, leaving a small red gash on his cheek. Derapchu held his hand up to his bleeding face, completely abandoning the blanket. "What was that for?!" He questioned, "Sorry, sorry!! I was trying to grab the blanket!" Pangi explained, Derapchu whined, holding his face in pain. "I'm gonna get you a bandage, give me a moment-" He spoke, quickly standing to find a bandage in his bag.
He quickly rifled through his bag, checking diffrent pockets until he found the one he stored medical supplies in. Pangi grabbed a few cotten swabs and a bandage to put on wound. He walked over to the bed, quickly kneeling infront of Derapchu. "Okay, I'm just gonna clean the wound before I bandage it, this might hurt a little." Pangi warned, Derapchu nodded, turning his head to give him easier access to the gash. Pangi started to gently clean the cut, being as careful as he could manage. He placed more pressure onto the wound, trying to clean it more effectively. Derapchu winced, letting out a small whine. "Sorry, sorry." He apologized, lessening the pressure on the gash. He cleaned most of the blood from the wound, placing the cotten swab next to him. Pangi placed on the bandage delicately, making sure the adhesive wasn't irritating anything. "There, you should be good to go." Pangi added, taking his hands away from Derapchu's face.
"Well I'm gonna go to bed, AND I'm getting the blanket." Derapchu teased, yanking the blanket back up to his face. "No- wait man- we can share!!" Pangi protested, shifting closer to him. "Fine, but I get more of it!!" He demanded "Fine!!" Pangi responded. He nudged closer to him, Derapchu lifted the blanket enough for Pangi to sneak under. He shoved himself up to him, making sure he got all of the blanket that he could. Derapchu turned onto his side, letting him face Pangi. Pangi shifted into a more comfortable position, making him face Derapchu.
He started wrapping his arms around Pangi, placing his head on his shoulder. He placed his arms to Derapchu's back, putting his arms around him. Derapchu paused for a moment before speaking, "Dude, your like really warm." He commented, "Thanks??" Pangi responded. "No, like in a good way though." Derapchu clarified. "Alright?" Pangi laughed, lightly confused on what 'in a good way' meant in this context.
Pangi gave up on trying to decipher what Derapchu was saying at that point. He finally felt himself starting to drift asleep. He let himself drift off. Maybe Derapchu could forget his bed again, not that Pangi would mind anyway.
