Once upon a time, a golden girl was chained to her castle. All she could see was ruin and decay and all she could hear was rage. But in her mind, she travelled through many worlds. She thought that, once, she used to travel with someone. But those were the thoughts of the chained girl, so she put them aside and slid into her dreams.
The girl opened her eyes and found herself in a field. It was open and green and reached as far as her eyes could see. In the distance she could make out snow-tipped mountain and squat flat plateaus, a thick forest, and a ca—
'Princess, are you well?'
The girl turned, but could only see blue in her periphery.
'I think…' she began faintly, 'I think I've been here before.'
There was a cough behind her and the shift of metal.
'Well, yes, your Highness. We've visited Hyrule Field many times.'
The words rolled in her mind. Hyrule Field. When had she been there before?
The blue in her periphery jerked and coughed harder.
She blinked, and the world was red. The sky burnt and the ground was dark with ash. Smoke hid the mountains and the forest, but the castle… the castle was clear.
