Kai was staring at his laptop under a pile of blankets, watching some sappy romcom. He was having an off day, and his friends were busy. Cassidy was streaming some horror game. Kai did not enjoy horror, so he didn't stay in the Twitch chat for very long, only to tell her to have fun. Eva and Diana were in town on a movie date, based on the selfies Diana took outside the theatre. And lastly, Jean was in a different state for the marriage of two of his crew members.
So he was alone.

Okay, fine. He wasn’t alone—Damon was just in the kitchen getting something, and he’d only been gone for five minutes.
When Damon came back, he rolled his eyes and pressed a cold can of Sakura-flavoured soda against Kai’s forehead. The chill shot through his skin, and he let out a startled yelp as he jerked backwards and fell on his bed.
“What took you so long?” Kai pouted, pausing his movie and snapping his laptop shut.
Damon glanced at the gadget around his wrist. "I was only gone for ten minutes, you big baby," he said with great affection, something that always caught Kai off guard despite how often it happened.
“Felt longer.” Kai whined, reaching out and tugging Damon down with one hand, fingers brushing against the familiar fabric of his sweater.
“Sorry, Your Highness.” Damon smirked, pressing a kiss to Kai’s cheekbone. “Whatever shall I do so you’ll forgive me?” His voice dripped with sarcasm.
Kai scoffed. “I don’t know what’s worse, Damie. When you’re mean or when you’re just sassy.”
Damon shrugged, an innocent gesture that gave Kai the perfect opening to tackle him, knocking him onto the mattress and peppering his face with kisses. Damon’s golden-blond hair splayed out against the blanket, bouncing slightly from the impact.
“You missed me that badly, Monteago?” Damon teased, his smug smile evident even as he lay pinned under Kai’s body weight.
Kai glared. “Fuck you and your cute face.”
“I could say the same to you, dumbass.”
“Shut up.”
Kai narrowed his honey-yellow eyes, hands braced on either side of Damon’s face, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath his fingertips. Damon’s smug grin only widened, challenging.
“Make me.”
Kai rolled his eyes but leaned down anyway, capturing Damon’s lips in a kiss. It started slow and warm, a subtle contrast to the teasing words they’d just exchanged. Damon’s lips were soft and familiar, and when he responded, it was with a quiet sigh that sent tingles down Kai’s spine.
Damon’s fingers found their way to Kai’s waist, anchoring him there as he tilted his head slightly to deepen the kiss. Kai smiled against his lips, feeling the way Damon melted just a little beneath him, the cocky edge slipping away into something much softer and a thousand times sweeter. He pulled back only when the need for air became apparent, hovering just inches away.
Damon blinked up at him, green eyes half-lidded, breath slightly uneven. “Okay,” he murmured, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “That was decent.”
Kai scoffed, flicking Damon’s forehead. “Decent?”
Damon hummed. “Might need another one to make a full judgment.”
Kai rolled his eyes but was already leaning in again.
“You idiot, we’ve kissed fifty times before, and you keep acting like it’s the first.”
Damon shrugged.
“At least you’re getting better,” he snorted.
Kai huffed. “My followers will know my boyfriend is a bully.”
“They’ll side with me once they understand I was gone ten minutes, and you thought I had abandoned you.”
Kai sighed dramatically. “You know I can’t stay mad at you forever.”
“Damn, gotta step up my game.” Damon pulled him in for another kiss.
