For Femslash February day 7: Muse

Notes:

Can't believe I've writing and posting for a week straight. Also ironically this prompt didn't give me any inspiration so enjoy this flow of conciousness from my brain

Work Text:

Once upon a time ago Charlie had made fun of Enchantress for always hiding around the artist types but that had been how they always met up.

The Arts has always been something that had drawn Charlie more than the other earthly creations.

Though lately Charlie had more time to really focus of them. Now that they're staying with the legends, longer than they've stayed anywhere before.

They've been getting back into songwriting and painting, Feeling more inspired than ever. Though after Heyworld they've been struggling.

Not really “struggling” they're still inspired but every time they've tried to complete something it feels like something's missing. Every time they're writing they can't find the right words to complete the lyrics. The faces on their painting keep ending up blank.

They've tried everything. Drinking, shagging, partying. Hell they even tried to meditate with Behrad. Anything to get some inspo to finish a piece.

One day they force themselves to finish a piece no matter what. It's terrible, the lighting is inconsistent, the strokes are all over the place.

But it's a portrait of someone, some dark haired woman with oilve skin and slender features. Charlie has been alive a long time and met a lot of people but they were sure that if they had met this person they would remember her.

They starts crying looking at the painting. A sudden wave of grief like lost washing over them.

From that day Charlie decides never to paint again, and they plan on sticking to that

But a few years later when their back in the 1980's. In a crappy apartment of theirs with two less controlling sisters, one less loom and memories again of Zari they paint again finally.

When they finish, the painting is perfect. They hang the picture of the dark haired beauty wearing flannel over their dresser.
