Work Text:

Andy knew she should stay out of Joe and Nicky's room, but she also knew that Nicky had the best snacks in the safe house, so she decided to get a snack or two since the boys weren't home. While Andy searched for the snacks, Nile walked by the room.

Nile: "You do know that there is a chance karma will hit your ass for stealing snacks from Nicky?"

Andy: "I am willing to deal with the consequences, and if I get you a packet of Twizzlers, is that enough to keep your mouth shut?"

Before Nile could say anything, a power outage hit the safe house, and everything went dark. While adjusting to the darkness, Nile heard two things: Booker swearing in French in the living room and something hitting the floor. Seconds later, Booker walked past Nile with a flashlight.

Booker: "Don't say a word. Power will be back in a moment."

Nile: "I didn't say anything."

Nile then looked into the dark room.

Nile: "Andy, are you okay?"

Andy: "Yes, I found the snacks. And by the smell coming from the box, I can tell you it is a treasure chest."

The light returned, and Nile saw Andy eating snacks while she, at the same time, was stuffing her pockets with the goods.

Nile: "That is good to know, and I hope you are enjoying your last meal."

Andy: "What do you mean?"

Nile: "Look to your right."

Andy did it, and when she saw the broken figurine, she stopped chewing.

Andy: "Please don't tell me it is one of those figurines Joe has made of Nicky."

Nile: "Okay, I won't. Instead, I will tell you that you are doomed once Joe finds out what you did."

Andy: "As if I didn't know that."

Andy started picking up the shards from the broken figurine while Booker walked past Nile on the way back to the living room.

Booker: "Don't say a word."

Booker noticed Andy on the floor.

Booker: "What did she do?"

Nile: "She broke a figurine of Nicky while stealing snacks from him, and we both know what that means."

Booker laughed.

Booker: "Enjoy your last hours of living, Andy. You will be sorely missed."

Andy: "You have never been funny, Booker."

Before Booker could say anything, another power outage hit the safe house. Booker turned on the flashlight before he looked at Nile. Booker swore in French again.

Booker: "Don't say a word."

Nile: "I won't."

Booker turned on the flashlight again.

Andy: "Before you go and fix the power, give me the flashlight, Booker."

Booker: "No, not a chance. You didn't ask nicely."

Nile resisted giggling because she knew exactly what Andy was thinking.

Andy: "If you don't give me that damn flashlight now, I will kick your ass from here to Hong Kong."

Booker: "Nah, not going to happen. See you."

Booker left, and Andy swore in an old, forgotten language.

Nile: "What is your plan to prevent Joe's wrath from hitting you?"

Andy: "I don't know. If I only could see anything."

The power returned just as noise coming from the kitchen could be heard, followed by what could best be described as schoolgirls giggling.

Nile: "Looks like Joe and Nicky are back again. If they stick to their usual plan, you have less than three minutes to clean up and fix the figurine."

Booker walked past Nile.

Booker: "Since they are still listening to you, do you think you can kick them out of the kitchen before they use the table as a bed? We are some who actually use the table for what it is meant for."

Nile: "Sure thing."

Nile looked at Andy.

Nile: "Good luck, Andy."

Andy: "Nile, get back here."

Nile left Andy to clean up her mess. In the kitchen, Nicky was trying to find some grapes but Joe was more busy kissing Nicky.

Nile: "Hi, Guys. How was date night?"

Joe: "Hi, Nile. It was great. And before you ask, yes, we kept the promise we gave to you."

Nile: "So you did keep out of trouble?"

Nicky giggled.

Nile: "I don't want to know what you did, but could I ask you to find your bedroom? I have some work to do tonight."

Nicky: "Sure thing. I just need to find the grapes."

It was a good thing Joe was so busy glaring at Nicky's ass that he didn't notice Andy slipping into the kitchen with the broken shards before she hid them under a tea towel. When Joe looked at Andy, she quickly moved, so she stood in front of the tea towel, hoping Joe wouldn't notice anything.

Joe: "Hi, Andy. What did you do now?"

Andy: "I have no idea what you are talking about. And don't you have a date tonight?"

Joe: "Hmm, since when have you started taking any interest in my dates with Nicky?"

Andy: "Just doing what Nile always tells me to do - take an interest in the rest of you. She calls it being a good leader."

Andy was grateful that Nicky started kissing Joe, before she had to answer any more questions.

Andy, in a low voice: "Oh, and I broke your statue."

Joe didn't hear anything because he was so busy directing Nicky towards the bedroom while they kissed.

Nile: "Something tells me he didn't hear you."

Andy: "Well, it isn't my fault he isn't paying any attention."

Nile: "That isn't an excuse, Andy, and you know it because whenever they are in that mood, neither of them is paying much attention to anything else but themselves."

Andy turned around and looked at Nile.

Andy: "Are you just going to stand there or help me fix that damn statue?"

Nile scratched her chin with a thoughtful mine.

Nile: "According to Joe, it isn't a statue but a figurine. And Isn't it you who always tells me I'm old enough to clean my own mess?"

Andy let out a frustrating groan.

Andy: "You are just as helpful as Booker is."

Nile: "Thanks, glad I could help."

Nile left the kitchen but returned a minute later.

Nile: "Speaking of Booker. He has just gotten a new toy, so maybe he can help you. Remember to ask nicely."

Nile took an apple before she left to find her laptop. Seconds later, she heard Andy call for Booker.

Booker: "I am busy, Andy."

Andy: "Tell me about your new toy."

Booker: "My new toy? Oh, you mean the 3D printer. Well, I would have gotten it to work hours ago if it wasn't for that damn fusebox."

Andy looked at the black box on the table.

Andy: "What does this do?"

Booker: "It prints stuff. And it will..."

Booker looked at Andy.

Booker: "Wait a moment. Why this sudden interest in my latest machine?"

Andy: "Can you print a new figurine for me?"

Booker: "I could, yes, but the question is if I want to do it."

Andy: "Name your price."

Booker: "There is a book I want, a really old one. But you are forgetting something."

Andy: "And that is?"

Booker: "I need a picture of the item you wanted printed- something you don't have."

Andy: "Leave that to me."

The next morning, Nile found Joe and Nicky eating breakfast in the kitchen. They were feeding each other pieces of toast with jam.

Nile: "Is there more cornflakes left?"

Nicky: "Yes, to your right."

Nile found the cornflakes and sat down to eat breakfast while working on her laptop.

Joe: "You look irritated."

Nile: "I am not telling you why before you are done with your vacation, which is at noon."

Joe and Nicky had taken two weeks' vacation because they had worked on their own mission for six months without a break.

Nile: "So I want you to enjoy the time with Nicky."

Joe: "Fair enough, but we do have the time to listen to you if needed."

Nile: "I know and thanks."

Andy came into the kitchen and aimed for the coffee pot.

Nicky: "Did you enjoy the snacks?"

Andy forced herself with a comical look on her face to look at the coffee pot.

Joe: "And I also want to speak with you about my figurine."

Andy: "What gave me away this time?"

Joe: "We found candy paper on the bed, and then there is the figurine. The one I made was out of clay, while the one standing in the bedroom is out of plastic."

Andy knew she had been caught in the act, and still, she tried not to look too guilty.

Joe: "My phone was no longer in my jacket but on the table. And you forgot to remove the shards behind you."

Andy could kick herself for not covering her tracks better, but before she could do anything, Joe kissed her on the forehead.

Joe: "You are forgiven because you tried to make amends, but what you aren't forgiven for is giving Nicky an extra head and a tail."

Andy: "What? When I placed that damn figurine..."

Andy realized something.

Andy: "Where is Booker?"

Nicky: "Something about a new fusebox. Why?"

Andy: "Because he must have printed another figurine after I was done."

Nicky: "Okay. When you are done killing Booker, remember you owe me new snacks."

Andy: "I promise. And sorry again."

Andy left the kitchen while plotting her revenge against Booker. On his way out of the kitchen, Nicky looked at Nile.

Nicky: "Joe? Wait for me in the bedroom. I will be there in a moment. I promise."

Joe: "Okay, hurry. We only have three hours left of our vacation before work calls."

Nicky kissed Joe before he looked at Nile again.

Nile: "What?"

Nicky: "It was you who switched out the figurine."

Nile: "I have no idea what you are talking about."

Nile didn't look at Nicky but at the screen instead.

Nile: "And don't you have a Hubby who is waiting for you, Inspector Clouseau?"

The last thing Nicky saw before leaving the kitchen was the proud smile on Nile's face because, once again, she had made it look like someone had done something they hadn't done.
