Hermione Granger has laid down to die. It has been nine long months since she left Grimmauld place to find a cure for the contagion Voldemort has released onto the world. She is lost, battered and beaten and completely alone. Ready to succumb to the razor-sharp talons of the Harpy that circles nearby. That is until she spots the broom and its rider speeding across the skies. Firing off a signal spell in a last-ditch effort to live she comes face to face with the most unlikely of saviours.

Wracked with guilt, they are about ready to give up when they happen upon an old acquaintance, a former enemy who takes them to their long-lost friend.
