Chapter Text

The classes in the cloud recesses can be defined by Wei Wuxian as boring. Like really, all he has done on this class is put his head on the table and try not to fall asleep from Lan Qiren's boring discussion, to which he has no need to learn the ancestry of the gentry sects.

And this has been going for 3 hours no. Please someone save Wei Wuxian.

Wei Wuxian already knew before he went to cloud recesses of how much boring this place would be like... The wall of rules is just there, and everyone would just start to run away from this place if they see it for the first time. Unfortunately, Wei Wuxian was not able to be far away from this place.

But hey, at least he has Lan Zhan to talk to, even if getting a reaction( positive one) from the boy can be hard, it is always fun for Wei Wuxian to speak or be close to him. He took it as a challenge when he first met Lan Zhan, able to get a reaction from the lil fuddy duddy is always fun and worth it, which Wei Wuxian is sure of.

So when he was listening to Lan Qiren's boring lessons ( his eyes are dropping) a sudden burst of energy shook the cloud recesses in tremor, he was shocked and also excited. Maybe his time here in cloud recesses was not for naught.

Currently, Wei Wuxian along with Jiang Cheng and Nie Huisang, they went to where the energy came from and when they look, they were not disappointed.

Two girls ( they look like twins) with the Lan foreheads and clothes greeted them, everyone's eyes where shocked. These two are unfamiliar to them. 

Even if both the men and women were separated to each other in cloud recesses, even Lan Qiren can't get to identify them.

But here's one thing they all thought. Those two have the beauty that define their comprehension or any mortal comprehension, both of them look like the immortals themselves 

Like really, one of them has golden eyes that are so sharp, that even Wei Wuxian who is a known flirt is uncomfortable when looking at it, combine with her sharp face and define jaw lines and clearly undamaged skin. She has a beauty of a strict immortal that punishes those who misbehave.

To which Wei Wuxian would definitely not mess with. ( Lan Zhan is different)

The other one has soft features, but her face is fine and soft, a face of someone who knows how to care for other people, her grey eyes hold a sense of understanding and mischief in them. Wei Wuxian know they would definitely get along.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here in the cloud recesses?" Lan Qiren asked, his eyes intensely staring at the two strangers.

"Sorry for the disturbance, great uncle. This grand nieces of yours is also troubled by the current situation we are in."

The girl with the golden eyes replied, and to Wei Wuxian's surprise, the girl actually smiled.

Now that was a shocking, since Wei Wuxian thought that this girl might be like Lan Zhan, who is a fuddy duddy. Now that Wei Wuxian is looking  at her closely, he can also see a bit of mischief from the girl's eyes.

Now, in Wei Wuxian's opinion, this made things more exciting.

Lan Qiren was stuttering, and Wei Wuxian is really trying his best to hold his laughter, which his current predicament is also being shared by Jiang Cheng and Nie Huisang.

"What?! Grand niece, what is this preposterous things you are saying?!" Lan Qiren basically shouted at the two.

"No shouting in Cloud recesses, Grand uncle" the girl with grey eyes just reprimanded Lan Qiren with his own clan rules.

To which Wei Wuxian was basically amused of. He will definitely befriend these two.

"Grand uncle, as me and my twin sister deduced our surroundings, we came to the conclusion that we may have time travel to the past, to which our parents are still students in the cloud recesses.

Time travel....... Now things just got more serious than interesting.

After the commotion.

In some room in the cloud recesses.

The Lan elders have assembled. To which can be cause of distaste from the twins, for which the twins will never fully trusts these old geezers, when all of them literally tried to take the twins away from their parents for 'early discipline'.

To which the twin's uncle intervene and threatened them, saying that he is the sect leader and they shall not touch his nieces, or else he might kicked the elders out of cloud recesses.

And from starting at that point, the elders had clearly did not tried that stunt again. And besides, their parents were not aware of that situation, and Lan Xichen tried his best to keep it a secret, since Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji's reactions might be unpredictable, and the risk is too high.

So, yeah the twins to hate these old geezer stick-up-in-the-ass elders.

"From the future, eh" an elder said, glancing at Lan Qiren for clarification.

"Yep, the claimed to be my grand nieces, from their forehead ribbon having cloud patterns, I do say that it must be the truth." Lan Qiren replied "And I also checked the incantation in their robes, which I can confirm is our clan's work."

"Has the God's really blessed us today, having these two is like having access to the future" An elder said "And if they said that it will not affect their future due to this "multiverse theory" then we can hope they will help us in our current situation regarding the Wens." The elder ended.

Lan Yuanjian raise her head, looking at the elders and said " The war with the Wens can't be avoided due to chief cultivator's insistence of reigning in supremacy, his goals does not align with the majority of the people, thus restricting our rights and our voice by using his power at his disposal."

After Lan Yuanjian spoked, her sister added " Wen Rouhan should be eliminated at all cost, that is the judgment that we shall give him, but we should also not condemned the innocents of the war in which they have not participated, this includes the people of the Wen clan, who disagrees with Wen Rouhan's vision. This examples the Dafan Wen, which is being led by Wen Qing, the well known doctor. Due to our Clan's intense hatred of the Wens, we failed to hear the voice of the innocents, and thus our clan condemned them in a fate to which they do not deserve"

The eyes of the elders, along with Lan Wangji's and Lan Xichen widened. Their Clan had just condemned innocents in the future.

"We'll keep that in mind, thank you" Lan Xichen said, glancing at his uncle.

"Now that settles some of the issues, you did say I was your grand uncle. Tell me, who is your parent?" Lan Qiren asked, glancing with interest towards the twins.

"The answer might be unexpected, since our father is just the same age as us." Lan Yuanjian smiled, mischief in her eyes.

Looking at her, Lan Xichen suddenly let out a laugh, it is a quiet one but was also noticeable by majority in the room.

It seems that the sect heir was able to identify it, who is the father of the twins are.

"Pray tell Xichen, tell us who it is." An elder said.

"Of course, the father would Wangji "

After those words were uttered, the room became quiet and pin drop can be heard.

All of the elders were shocked, but the most funny reaction would be coming from the twin's father itself, who's face looks like he's questioning things. While his older brother is trying to keep his laughter to himself.

Laughing at their father is not appreciated at this current moment, but the twin's so desperately want to laugh.

No the twins can't, the twins will have the opportunity to tease their father later along with their so called ' mother', and the twins ain't planning on revealing that information, yet.

For the fun of it. The twins can't be blamed, for they were raised by the Yiling Laozu, Wei Wuxian himself, teasing and having fun is in their genes.

Sorry, but the only thing that the twins inherited from the Lan Clan are their physical aspect, the humor, the personality and the chaos was from Wei Wuxian himself.

At the Lanshi

"Time travel, is it really possible?" Wei Wuxian asked, his head laying on the table.

"Well it may be Wei-xiong, we literally saw the twins earlier." Nie Huisang replied, carefully doing painting on his fan.

"Well they might be lying" Wei Wuxian said "I mean if it really is possible, it may have been discovered earlier. Just imagine how many problems would have been solved."

"Hey, stop letting that imagination of yours run wild yet." Jiang Cheng instantly reprimanded his brother. " We don't know yet, maybe it was just dangerous, that's why it's not yet common."

"Your right Cheng Cheng, that may be the problem, or maybe time travel was only invented in the future itself, that's why we don't know it yet." Wei Wuxian had risen his head from the table, looking at Jiang Cheng with a grin.

"Hey! Who are you calling Cheng Cheng?!" Jiang Cheng shouted, about to physically hit his brother.

"How about we ask the twins later, they might give us some insights." Nie Huisang brilliantly said.

"Great idea Nie-xiong, we should really ask the twins" Wei Wuxian grins and runs out of the Lanshi.

after the conversation with the elders.....

Lan Wangji is in a dilemma, whether he should accept to trust the twins, or deny their claims.

But in his perspective, the twins had not done anything that made him doubt them, in fact, they act like they knew Lan Wangji very well, as a matter of fact, not everyone can read Lan Wangji, not even his uncle that raises him since he was young. No, they do really understand what Lan Wangji is currently thinking right now.

"We're sorry if it's too sudden, it was not our intention." The younger sibling, Lan Yuanjian, if Lan Wangji remembered, smiled at him with pity.

It seems that Lan Yuanjian sensed Lan Wangji's emotion, and she instantly assured Lan Wangji, and it assured him well.

If he deduce the current situation, the twins were also surprised when they end up here, and that is already a clue that they did not intent any of this to happen.

But Lan Wangji can't also ignore the fact that the twins know that their actions won't affect the future, as if they are trained for this.

"Our 'mother' trained us if this ever happen, after all 'mother' already avoided death many times, so 'mother' believes that this kind of situation can and maybe will happen" The older one, if Lan Wangji also remembered, Lan Xunwen calmly said.

Wait 'mother'? Did Lan Wangji's interest change? 

A subtle panic can be seen from Lan Wangji's face, from the looks of it, it seems that Lan Yuanjian is really amused by the reaction, much to the dismay of Lan Wanggi. It's a fact now that the twins can read him.

Currently, the three of them are drinking tea beneath a tree on the fields of the cloud recesses. Truly the atmosphere is very calm.

"Well, this is awkward...eh, what should we call you?" Lan Xunwen calmly set her teacup on the table, eyeing Lan Wangji.

Lan Wangji also placed his cup on the table and said " You can call me whatever you want."

Both sibling were surprised by the reply, Wei Wuxian always told them that their a-die is such a fuddy duddy that even he thought that his husband hated him.

But in Lan Wangji's point of view, it's different. Lan Wangji did not even knew he said his reply, it was like automatic, and that his instinct told him that his reply was the right one, even though it seems not.

Lan Wangji can't discern his feelings, the feeling of being protective and happy at seeing the two, as if they already form a connection to him, despite them only meeting recently.

"Well, can we still call you a-die?" Lan Xunwen asked, eyes fill with light.

When Lan Wangji met the twins, he thought that Lan Xunwen is like him, impassive and in the eyes of the most, emotionless, but it seems that he was wrong. He can see many emotions from Lan Xunwen's eyes, her face may can't speak it, but her eyes does.

Following his emotions, to which he is confused of, Lan Wangji replied" Yes.."

After hearing the reply, Lan Yuanjian stand up and hugged Lan Wangji.

Being hugged, Lan Wangji felt comfort, confident that these two won't harm him, and that they really for him.

"Then call us by our birth name then, wait no by our nicknames." Lan Yuanjian said, embarrassment being visible on her face.

Lan Wangji tilt his head in curiosity, and decided to ask, "What nicknames?"

Lan Xunwen faced Lan Wangji and said, " Well 'mother' being creative as they can be, created nicknames that are from our birth names, and since you let us call you a-die, it in your right to call us using those nicknames."

Now Lan Wangji's curiosity is at is peak.

"Tell me those nicknames." Lan Wangji said

"My birth name is Lan Shu, my nickname is ShuShu" Lan Xunwen replied

"Mine is Lan Lai, and my nickname is LiLi" Lan Yuanjian replied.

Now Lan Wangji can understand why these two are embarrassed.

Behind the bush, from the distance.

"Hahahahah, these twin's 'mother' is so funny, like who would give those silly nicknames to their children!" Wei Wuxian laughed, as he duck behind the bush.

Jiang Cheng, who's patience is being tested, hit his brother on the head, "You idiot! Stop laughing! They might see us."

Nie Huisang, who face can't also hide his laughter said, " I agree with Wei-xiong, whoever this twin's 'mother' is, they are really mean for calling their children with those silly names."

Soon enough, Wei Wuxian's laughter stopped, his face grinning while looking at his friends.

"You know what is even more funny? It seems that Lan Zhan married a person that has humor! By how cold Lan Zhan is, it's a miracle this he married that kind of person!"

After hearing what Wei Wuxian said, both Nie Huisang and Jiang Cheng agreed.

How in the world did the second jade of lan married a humorous person.

Without the three knowing, the twins were secretly looking at them from the distance.
