I had this idea in my head where Ippo and Umezawa answer each other's personal ads and unwittingly meet up for sex. For context, Barazoku was a pioneering gay men's magazine in Japan that would've been popular around that time, and one of its draws was - you guessed it - personal ads...
Ippo has never done anything like this in his life. He adjusts his collar a little higher before pulling the baseball cap he’s wearing low enough to obscure his face, palms sweating.
Before he can think to turn around and forget this whole endeavour, there’s a voice somewhere in the shadows behind him.
“Bi-Curious Guy..?”Ippo bristles; the man is clearly trying to disguise his voice. Maybe he should do the same…
“Gay and Experienced..?” he says in answer, his heartbeat picking up. The other man grunts in what sounds like affirmation, and the hairs on the back of Ippo’s neck stand up when he hears a pair of footsteps casually closing in.
