Agatha didn’t acknowledge her at first, too focused on finishing a garnish, but she felt her. Felt Rio’s presence settle beside her like a second heat, separate from the stove’s flame.
Finally, Rio spoke.
“Come over.”
Agatha blinked, glancing at her. “What?”
“Tonight.” Rio’s voice was steady. Direct. “You should come over.”
Agatha arched a brow, smirking despite herself. She picked up a whole carrot from her station, pointing it at Rio like a knife.
“Keep it in your pants, Vidal.”
Rio snorted, shaking her head, turning to leave. “Forget it.”
