Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

White light blurred the vision for short time before a face of beautiful woman appeared. She stared with tired and loving eyes, and her lips moved along with the soft voice in sync.

"She's beautiful."

The corners of her lips twisted upwards into smile full of care. But then it saddened, until even the spark of emotion left her kind eyes. Baby cries filled the room as well as machine beeping and multiple panicked voices yelled over each other.

•••

A man's face showed up, wearing disappointed scowl. He shook his head and turned around with his hands behind his back.

"She's a failure. The Mutagen and DNA has done nothing with her. Get rid of it."

•••

This time darkness replaced surroundings, giving a scary vibe from what looks to be sewers. All of sudden, a giant rat of the size of human approached and stroked his beard thoughtfully, staring down.

He hummed to himself, followed with nod of agreement and final decision, reaching with his arms.

•••

"Catch her!"
"Quickly! Before father finds out."
"Any longer and she will catch cold!"
"Mikey, grab her!"
"Ow!"

A child giggle errupted in the ears, four turtles of the size of human child running after a little, cheeky girl that keeps escaping their grasp and their attempt to pull pants and socks on her.

•••

The girl, now few years older, frowns at her father with anger shown in her e/c eyes. Her fists clench in furry and she yells at him.

"Leave me alone!"

And she storms into the maze of sewers.

•••

"Hello again."

•••

Something between scream and shriek of pain echoes through the room, followed with whimpers and another cry for help.

"Help me!"

•••

The same girl sits in the corner of her cold cell, curled up into ball while facing the dirty wall, only light from single, small window giving a little of visibility.

"I'm sorry."

•••

Disgusting sound of flesh ripping doesn't bother the young girl, hence it's the unbearable pain in her back that has her full attention.

But then it faded into quiet whimpers and gasp, a new addition to her body showing itself on full display.

•∆•

A gasp is first to come out of me, right as my e/c eyes shoot open, my pupils for sure shrunk into tiny dots. I breath heavily, managing to fully calm down after a while. Sitting up, I rub my throbbing head, also groaning at the pain in my neck and back. I should stop taking naps in Vern's stupid van.

Which reminds me, my eyes scan the inside of van and sure enough the two aren't here, meaning they're outside, and I bet my best friend is running after people and annoying informations out of everyone that witnessed the Foot Clan attack.

And I'm right, when I open the back door so I can jump out, having to cover my still sensitive eyes from the sun shining down at us. This is also reason why I like to sleep through day and be active at night. The stupid sun is too bright.

Groaning in disgust, I approach Vern with my hands rubbing my sore back. He looks nervously down at his watch, glancing around and back at April talking to an annoyed looking man in orange vest.

"The Foot Clan attack still excites her?" Vern must've been too occupied by his own stress to acknowledge my presence, causing him to flinch when I suddenly appeared on his side.

"Jesus Christ, you scared me." I grinned maliciously at that. "But yeah, she's been butting every person in here about it. Now she got to Rivetti." I follow his gaze at April and the man in front of her, who must be Rivetti, as Vern said.

"Poor guy." I sighed.

"O'Neil, we're live in 30 minutes! Come on!" Vern called to April, pointing at his watch. Rivetti turned to walk away but April stopped him once more.

"Uh, no, no, no. I'll be right back. Please don't go anywhere. I'll be right back." She then jogged up to us hurriedly.

"Come on. You're killing me."

"I'm working!" She whinned in self defence.

"That's a paying job?"

"No" With crossed arms and amused smirk I watched the two arguing like an old married couple, till Vern opened the door of his van to driver's seat.

"Look, you don't think that every crime reporter in the city has been trying to work this Foot Clan story?" Vern asked her, very much annoyed.

"I know that but there's a new angle on this and I'm this close to getting it..." She showed a gap between her fingers. "...I just need a couple of more..." She turned and pointed at the place where Rivetti stood before, now the spot empty with no Rivetti.

"You exhausted him, girl." I stuck my hands into pockets of my hoodie/jacket, and April turned to stare me down for my comment. She sighed a tired sigh, her shoulders slumping which I rubbed in comfort.

"Let's stick to what we're good at. We're good at it." Vern got into driver's seat and me with April followed, her jumping next to Vern while I went back to my usual place when tagging with them: in the back.

•∆•

"In five....four...." Vern used his fingers to count down, holding the camera directed at April in front of him with microphone in her hand. Best on it is that there are trampolines. While Vern was recording April, I sat in the van, dangling my feet over the edge.

Ever since I escaped the bastard of man and was found by April, I kept having nightmares. Well, flashes of my painful part of past if I'm being correct. But lately I've been having more than bad memories to pop in my head during sleep.

Most of them I remember, know what kind of memory is which, like the ones when I was experimented on, or those with my brothers and father before the argument I regret very much until today. If I wasn't so selfish and stupid at the time, I could be still with my family. On the other hand, if it didn't happen, I might have never recieve what I have now and never meet April.

But back to my nightmares, they keep getting more and more confusing each time I dream of them. Because I have no idea who that woman is. The beautiful woman with kindest smile and eyes I ever saw has been the beginning of my nightmares since month ago. And it bothers me I cannot figure out who is it.

"So we're going to squad down and flap your wings. Right over there. Full extension." I got snapped back to presence when Harley, the guy showing April what to do, pretended to have wings and April doing the same but on trampoline, jumping.

My face cringed into grimace at the way they show 'wings', however, that doesn't stop me from snickering with laughter and pulling out my phone to snap few pictures of April embarrassing herself. She shook her head at me.

"Four years of journalism school so that I can do that. It's embarrassing." My best friend and sister figure said annoyed, putting her yellow jacket on when reportage ended.

"Embarrassing? Yes. Amusing? Also yes." She shoot me a glare, at which I responded with cheeky grin.

"Your not helping." My shoulders lifted in shrug.

"Look, O'Neil, I get it. You want to be a serious journalism. I see you sniffing around the newsroom for the big stories. But it's also okay to just give people something a little lighter. Little... Little froth" Spoke Vern, turning to April after putting cameras into his van.

"Froth?" Both mines and April's face crossed confusion.

"You know, how when you get a coffee, it's just...like...coffee then they put a little froth on it. It's kind of nice."

"Vern, that's a foam." April fix the stuttering guy, my next comment making the cameraman give me offended look.

"Vern, you're disgusting."

"Yes, foam, froth. You get the point. It's just nice. It taste good. It's candy. You ever heard the expression? 'Never take a candy from a baby'? It's because even babies love candy! It's nice and you're giving people smoothy they like that's good and nice. They look at you and they see 'Wow, there's a nice, there's a candy'? The point is I think that you should be rewarded not pushing yourself , okay? And I'm... I'm prepared to reward you. I say that we go to my buddy's old restaurant downtown. It's very vibey."

"We just ate on the way over here." April is quick to get her bike while I grabbed my skateboard from the van.

"No, I know. We just... I'm not saying for a full meal. We're just gonna eat appeteasers." I deadpanned at Vern still trying to convince us, well, April.

"I got to finish that interview. I'll see you at the office!" With her helmet on, April got on her bike and I jumped on my skateboard, in sync growing distance from Vern.

"I'll see you at the office!" Was last thing I heard Vern yell at us, aimed especially for April.

•∆•

Looking around if anyone's around, I don't see a single soul and turn to look down at April's phone, Rivetti's face on the screen as April just had to get more info about the Foot Clan attack.

"Hey, do me a favor. Lose my number." Were Rivetti's last words before he hang up. I couldn't help but chuckle at how annoyed he's from April. Again got on our bike and skateboard and went to Docks.

By the time we got there, it turned dark night. Going around some containers, we hear voices came from there. I shared a look with April, looking through the fence separating us. April pulled out her phone and dialed the number of her colleague, who picked it.

"Chris, Chris, it's April. Me and Y/N are at the Docks..." From what I know, April's colleagues are fine assholes and exactly like I assumed, Chris hang up almost immediately.

"Have co-workers like that, I'd snap easilly." April only nodded at me. We switched places somewhere to have better view. When we found the right spot, throught the hole that's in the fence we see people, or better Foot Clan.

It wouldn't be April if she didn't have the need to record it, but to her bad luck there was nothing she could record as it's too dark and her flash on phone does not help, so she began to climp up the fence. I shoot her wierd look.

"What do you think you're doing?" My dear best friend has this tendency to get herself into trouble, a lot of trouble, and most of the times drags me in with herself, so it's always on me to help her out of it. I'd like for today to go without problems.

"I need evidence." She didn't spare me a glance, not until she landed on the other side.

"And you can't do it from here?"

"No. Come on." My shoulders dropped with sigh, giving up and climbing after her. With the rain pouring on our heads, we hid behind containers, me throwing a hood over my head to both hide my identity and get my hair as less wet.

We peeked from behind the corner to see the scene unfold in front of us with some really big shadow fighting Foot Clan. But once I see its shape, my eyes widen in realization.

It's one of my brothers.

The last time I was with my brothers and father was 8 years ago, when I was 7. Never after I got the chance to stumble upon any of them, not even when I went to search for them. It forced me to believe they maybe moved somewehre else or....doesn't matter.

Still it's clear on my face how much shocked I am to see him, even though he himself most probably doesn't even know I'm still alive, not to say here with him. Foot Clan started to yell, asking who's the person fighting against them, and causing me to smirk at their panic. Serves you right, bitch.

"Retreat! Retreat!" Yelled familiar female voice and Foot Clan began to retreat. When the cars left, on top of one of the containers stood my brother, and if my mind isn't playing tricks on me, he looked our way.

Due to seeing sias attached to his hips, I recognize him as Raphael, the tough teddy bear. April pulled out her phone and took a picture but it caught only little piece of him as he disappeared again, leaving a ping of disappointment in my chest.

I joined April's side when she went to another container that has a symbol meaning 'family' drawn on it. April of course had to take a picture before deciding it was time to go home. And so glad I am.

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Chapter Text

~∆~

It took us some time to get back home, April being the one with energy pumping in her veins getting first into our shared apartment and ran into living room, finding Taylor, our roomate.

"Taylor. Taylor." Urgently April made the blonde switch her attention to us.

"Hey. I'm skyping with my mom." I can only hum in response to Taylor, not really liking her.

"You have no idea what we just went through. I am freaking out. We saw a Foot Clan attack."

"Are you two okay?" April, though, ignored the question and continued with her rant.

"I was riding my bike and Y/N was on her skateboard by the docks. It was night, it's dark already and there are Foot Clan soldiers everywhere. Then out of nowhere, there was this guy fighting back against them. And he... He left behind this symbol. And I know that I've seen it before. I can't remember where. But there is someone fighting back against the Foot Clan. There is a vigilante in this city. And no one knows, but we do. I know. And now I have my story. There is no more froth and foam for me." Taylor only stared at my breathless best friend.

"What?"

"Never mind." April waved hand at it, only now realizing to others' ears she sounds a little bit crazy. But not to me, because I know she's getting closer to revealing who and what my brothers really are, and I can't help but worry things won't go as good as I like to imagine.

•∆•

The next day I accompanied April to her work like most of time, and this day happened to be one of those where April is too much excited about her new discovery and talks about it nonstop, however, this one makes me worried.

If people will actually believe April, which I'm like 99% sure they won't, they would immediately put search for my brothers and when they find them, I don't even wanna know what exactly they'd do to them. But the worst one to get his hands on my brothers, dad and myself is Eric Sacks.

He's the cause why I was separated from my family. Yeah, it was my fault I got into argument with dad and stormed onto surface at daylight even though I had it forbidden, but he's the one that kidnapped me. He's the one that experimented on me for 3 years. And if my suspicion is being correct, he's the cause why I'm not normal.

From what my dad told me back when I was with them, he said he found me one day in sewers, covered in nothing but single f/c blanket. What also concerned him that day was my back, when he spotted the big mark in the shape of folded wings. None of us knew if it were just coincidence or caused by something from before he found me. Until today I can't figure it out, but I suspice Sacks having his hands in it.

Somehow, through the years of experimenting, he managed to mutate me. He gave me wings. Beautiful, gaint, black wings that I learned to pull out and shrink into what used to be mark. He also was curious about my mark, saying something in word like it wasn't there before, whatever that means, and hired a guy to tattoo the mark into wings.

I was 8 when they did it, and at such small age I was of course weak and very sensitive, which resolved in it hurting like bitch, especially since it was my first and too big one to that.

I hate him for everything he has done to me, the suffering and nightmares and more, but the wings, I can't bring myself to hate him for that, because they are the best thing that happened to me.

Maybe not through day but when it turns night, I can fly however long and wherever I want. In the sky I'm free. No one tells me what to do. Up there it's peaceful and quiet, best when you need to clear your head and escape from all the pressure, which for me is quite a lot lately, especially when I wake up from nightmare. And since I'm able to hide them in my body, it's no problem for me, unlike my brothers. At least we all are now wierd.

As I'm walking through New York with headphones on my head, I notice the multiple TVs showing the only person in world I hate most.

Sacks.

They talk about him and Sacks Industries and other shit I can only grit my teeth at. If I had a chance to punch that smug smirk off of his face, I would gladly do it. He doesn't deserve to be in the place he is. Rich and loved for his lies. If people really knew what kind of person he is, things would be different. Maybe not for us but for the people.

If people weren't so ignorant, right away I'd take the chance and tell them what he has done, what he's done to me. Unfortunately, hearing a 15-years old girl saying she's been experimented on and tortured by that man would only come as funny to these people. So 0 for me, 1 for Sacks.

Prick

Shaking my head with sigh, I continue my daily walk, stopping when an alley appears on my left with sewer lid in middle of the way. I hesitate in my spot for good seconds, bitting my lip if or not should I go and try to stumble upon my brothers or dad.

"Screw it." As final decision settled in my head, I walked over to the lid and looked around if anyone is watching or near, seeing no one, before jumping in with the lid falling closed after me.

My feet make quiet sound when I land, and my e/c eyes adjust to the darkness consuming me. There are two ways I can go, so I use my intuitions to lead me wherever I should go and go left.

To be honest, I completely forgot about the smell looming in the air of sewers, and it forced my face muscles to cringe. It took me while to get used to it, the terrible smell disappearing into thin air once I turned few corners.

I have no idea where I am, if I'm walking towards my family or something bad. It's one big maze down here, and I wonder how was I able to take walks here and back to our little home without getting lost over and over.

I go turn a corner when my ears catch heavy footsteps, making me slow down in my tracks. Only with my one eye I peek from behind the corner and I almost gasp when I see a silhouette of one of my brothers. I can't really tell from my spot here, him having his back to me not helping. Not at all.

I don't remember any of my brothers being so big and bulky. What did dad feed them with? Pizza can't do much, I'm very sure of that. He's muttering something under his breath and I peek my head more in attempt to hear his voice.

"Stupid, stupid Leo. Telling me what to do." My eyebrows rise in surprise, not expecting his voice to sound so deep. I certainlly missed a lot.

By his pick of words I'm guessing it's Raph, due to him being always the one jealous of Leo. I remember the times like at training when Leo did better impression on dad than Raph and it left him drowning in furry and jealousy, wanting to prove himself. Sometimes I left him alone, but most of the times I came to comfort him, telling him he doesn't need to prove himself, that he's good enough for me. It never trully satisfied him.

And I was confirmed right when the little of light cutting through the little hole of sewer lid shone down on his head, his red bandana beating into my eyes.

"Raphael?" Without realizing I breathed out, but once I did, I retreated back behind the wall, right as Raph turned his head my direction. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

"Mikey, don't even try scaring me. You won't success." Raph's voice flies into my ear and out the other. I don't move, only keep my hands pressing over my mouth to prevent any sound coming from me.

"Mikey, I'm not kidding. Get out." His heavy footsteps suddenly grew closer and closer to me, and my pupils shrank into tiny dots. No. Not right now. It's not the right time. Not yet!

Without wasting any time I sprint away, not even caring where I'm going. My main priority is to get away, totally unprepared if he sees me. I don't know what I'd do. Would he even recognize me after all these years?

When I'm sure I'm good distance away from him, hearing no footsteps behind me or somewhere else, I take a deep breath I need after all this running. I'm getting out of shape, that's not good. I'm starting tomorrow. But first I must get out of here, before I stumble upon someone else or Raph himself again.

•∆•

It's late in evening, dark sky replacing the bright blue one, and instead of me using the oppurity to fly and enjoy the moment of freedom, I'm being the best of friend to April and agreed to go with her to the prick's party.

As much as I disagree with everything Sacks is saying, I have to keep myself at bay to not create scene, in worse cause plug his eyes out and cut his tongue so he can finally be quiet.

Sacks talks about what happened years ago in laboratory, time when I wasn't born yet but my brothers and father had the chance to be there and experience what actually happened there, which father told me of course. And from what I'm hearing rolling down Sacks' lips, he's a fucking liar.

When Sacks finished his talk, everyone began to clap. Everyone except for me, of course. Without any warning forward April grabs my hand and drags me towards Sacks. What does she think she's doing?  We walk up to Sacks and stopped in front of him, me keeping my head down so at least my hair can cover my face and hope he won't recognize me.

"Mr. Sacks. April O'Neil. You worked with my father." Introduced herself April and Sacks turned to pay her attention.

"Oh, I can't believe it. I haven't seen you since-"

"-since his funeral. It was a long time ago." Finished for him April. From where I'm standing I notice tears in her eyes, holding them back. "I just wanted to tell you that your words really resonated with me, and I hope to one day contribute to the city in the way that you do."

"Well. It looks like you're doing a pretty good job. Channel 6, very impressive, April." Sacks stated and April looked down, a little embarrassed. I'd roll my eyes if I could.

"Um...Thank you. It's, uh...it isn't exactly everything I anticipated it would be." Thanked April.

"As loong as you are true to yourself, your father will always be proud of you." Heavy sigh left my nose drills, restraining myself from glaring at the man that has no right to bring up April's father. Seeing April on verge of tears, I hand her handkerchief, which she gladly takes. But to my unfortunate, it also draws his attention to me. Fuck.

"And who might your friend be?" He glanced shortly at April, still keeping his eyes on me. I curse in my head over and over.

"What? Oh. This is my best friend, Y/N." I straighten up when April says my name, putting on fake smile to cover the nervousness crawling up my spine.

"It's nice to meet you, Y/N." Sacks grabbed my hand into his, shaking it.

"The pleasure is on my side." No, it's not.

I tried playing it off, and it looks like I did good enough. Still Sacks scan my face with this suspicious glint in his eyes, and the fear of him recognizing me and taking me back rises in me. Until one of his bodyguards came and whispered to him that they need to go.

"I'll see you on TV." Sacks said to April before he turned and walked away with his bodyguard, not leaving without giving a last look at me. Uff.

"Hey, you alright there?" My hands grabbed April's shoulders, rubbing them in comforting way as she wiped her eyes.

"Yeah, it's just his words touched me a little." She sniffed and I frowned, knowing how it feels to miss your father and I pull her into my embrance.

"I believe it's very painful, April. I know you miss him dearly, and I know he misses you too, very much." I pull back to take a look at her.

"Come on, let's get out of here." With my arm around her shoulders we make our way back to Vern.

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Chapter Text

~∆~

Huff of annoyance leaves me, wishing to be already in my cozy bed after such a long day. But this horrible traffic prevents it. Ugh.

"Eric Sacks was so inspiring. I know this is a story that actually matters." April didn't spare neither me or Vern a glance, still feeling off after Sacks' shitty party.

"The superhero one? That's a good idea. I should chase that down." Said Vern. People suddenly began running past us, away from something with scream leaving their throats.

"Where's everybody going?" I have the same question as Vern, looking around at the running people. A panic and fear in their eyes was enough for me to understand something bad is happening and the worst gang here in NY is Foot clan.

"Do we look like we know?" Sarcasm lack from my voice, Vern's glare going unnoticed to me along with his rolling eyes.

April suddenly bolted from the van, and I groan when I see her running the opposite way the people are running. She's again walking towards trouble, and once again I must be the one to get her out of it. Great.

Rubbing my forehead tiredly, I use the back door to get out and run after April, ignoring Vern's calls for us to come back.

Soon I walked into subway station but saw no one nor April. With unhearable footsteps I walked below and hid behind a pillar. My e/c eyes scanned my surroundings, until pair of hands grabbed my neck.

Out of reflex I reached back and grabbed onto the person, using all my abnormal strenght to throw them over my shoulder at the wall across from me. My chest rose and fell from the adrenaline, watching as the Foot Clan soldier slid down onto the ground, unconscious.

Four more soldiers ran in from the stairs and I cracked my neck.

"Let's dance." They ran at me and I fought them back, using everything my father has taught me and more. I still have a lot to learn but it's enough to dodge their attacks and get a hit at them too.

I fought them all off with some struggle, until one jumped at me from behind and electrified me to the point where my muscles turned numb. They lifted me on my feet and dragged me down the stairs with one hand clutching handful of my hair.

My brows knitted together when I see dozen of innocent people being held hostage by Foot Clan fuckers. They threw me down as well, a huff of tired pain leaving me.

"We know you're out there! If you don't surrender, we start executing hostages!" Yelled female soldier, who I'm sure wants my brothers to show up. It made me smirk slightly because one thing I remember father teaching us: stay out of human eyes.

I looked over at April, who took a photo of the female soldier, which I remember is named Karai. Unfortunately, the camera made a click sound and it caught Karai's attention.

"You! Stand up!" Karai aimed her gun at April and made her way towards her.

"All aboard!" A familiar voice yelled and I have to bite my smirk back, knowing damn well my brothers are here, ready kick Foot Clan's asses.

The lights turned off and the train came, four big figures jumping from there. Okay, now I'm really curious what did those guys do to grow into such sizes.

Karai shoot at them, even though she can't see a thing. Having the chance, I stood up and threw a piece of broken wall at Karai. It grabbed her attention but she turned to face me too late, my foot already up and meeting Karai's face. I grabbed onto her vest and spun her at the wall, knocking her out. What a good feeling.

With satisfied grin I turned my head, meeting eyes of one of my brothers. His shadow isn't telling much, not even the little of light we have here from the train. But I can tell it's definitely not Raph. He broke our eye contact and ran off, disappearing.

Soldiers sat tied up against the wall, unconscious. People began to ask who saved them and pointed at the place where they ran off. I quickly found April, grabbing onto her shoulders tightly.

"April! What the hell were you thinking, woman?! You got a dead wish or something?!" I shook with her form after my scolding, flicking her forehead.

"Ow. Talk about yourself. Come on." She grasped my hand in hers and dragged me outside to stairs leading up at the rooftop, where are heard voices I had to roll my eyes at. Idiots.

April didn't wait for me and is already pulling down the first stairs, sprinting up with curiousness forcing her going. With groan at this whole day going down I sprint after April, reaching her right as she climbed up the ladder but stayed standing on it, blocking my way from going any more.

"Ah, that's what I'm talking about, brothers. Like shadows in the light. Completely unseen." April's flash was once again turned on when she took a photo of my stupid of brothers and I facepalmed, wondering if I should just drag April away and delete the photo or leave it to my brothers to eat up.

I decided for the first opinion and tugged on April's ankle for her to go down right as we hear my brothers whispering about what was it and who did it. But it was too late, a chain wrapped around April and swung her up, leaving me down here all by myself with my mouth hung agape and to catch her phone that has fallen out her hand. Well shit!

"Give me the camera." Snapping from the shock, I grimace at Raph's 'deepened' voice.

"Ooh, look, he's doing his Batman voice." This voice is different, not rough and dull one. They changed so much after the years. Curiousity got better of me and so I climbed onto the ladder, staying there pressed against it and peeking over the edge to see what is actually going on over there. And oh, I feel sorry for April.

"She's so hot. I can feel my shell tightening."

"We can hear you!" Raph's gaint form towers over April, who managed to scramble to her feet without taking her eyes off him. The tough turtle pulls out his sias I remember being tinnier than those and I wonder if they kept my own weapon stored or got rid of it.

"If you don't give me the camera, I'm gonna..." Raph didn't have the chance to finish because another, new voice intervened in.

"Enough!" I flinched down and nearly let go of the ladder when pair of large feet landed right in front of my face.

"Back off, Raph." For this one I don't need to see katanas to know which one is it. He always were the type to lead and command. And also the eldest and most protective out of them all. Freaking Leo.

"I saw Batman once!" Raph called out with arms up in defence and walked away. April turned to face Leo.

"Ma'am, hello. I apologize." When he jumped down from the edge and kicked dust my way, I could only curse him in my head and muffle my coughs.

"My colleague here forgot to say 'please'. So, would you please hand over the camera?" April backed away from my brother, until another one landed behind her. The impact startled her this much where her rapid breaths are seen in the cold night air, fear and confusion clear in her eyes.

"No, no, no, no, no, woah, woah. Chill. It's just a mask. See? Don't freak out." Mikey, the youngest and funniest out of them all, if we don't count me, unwrapped his orange mask and held it in air, grinning like the idiot he is. April passed out.

"Well, that went well." A sigh of tiredness and frustration leaves me, along with shake of head, and mentally prepare for the right moment when I'm gonna have to show up and face my brothers I haven't seen for a very long time, even though they don't know I'm their lost sister.

"What should we do with her?"

"Get rid of her."

"No. We can't leave her here just like that."

"Don't forget she took a photo of us."

"Yeah, right. Donnie, get to work and delete it."

"Alright."

"Shouldn't we at least put her over there? The ground looks uncomfortable."

"You're right. Mikey, pick her up."

"With pleasure."

I rolled my eyes at my brothers bickering, especially Mikey, who for sure feels like he won lottery and can touch a pretty girl like April. I got this as my cue to show up and climbed up the ladder, seeing all of my brothers having their shells in my vision and crowding around April. They are too occupied by my friend to notice me sneaking right in between them.

Donnie, the nerd and only one, besides father, that ever had the patience to teach me basic stuff they teach in schools, searched in April's pockets for the phone while muttering to himself with frown. I almost snorted at his clueness, but waited for them to notice me.

"Where is it?" Donnie spread his hands in pure confusion, however, when he lifted his gaze and meet my eyes inches from him, surprise crossed his face and he screamed girl-scream, falling back onto his ass. Believe me, it took a lot of effort to hold myself from bursting into laughter right here.

"W-who, who are you?!" Others got their attention on me as well, Raph and Leo standing tall in case I come out as danger to them, which I'm far from that.

"I'm, umm," If I didn't catch myself, the secret I'm their sister would slip right through between my lips, and I'm so not ready for that yet.

"I'm her friend." Pointing down at April's passed out form, the two doesn't ease up their guard, only Mikey changed his confusion into goofy smile.

"And she's not screaming in fright! I like this one, dudes." He spared a glance to standing up Donnie, at who I raised eyebrows up for growing into such tall bastard, even taller than Raph and that's impressive. No, really, what did father feed them with?

"Honestly, you guys are way louder than you think. I could hear each word you said from the bottom of the stairs." Shame fell upon them, lowering their gaze for doing such mistake.

"And I also overheard you looking for this." With smirk I held April's phone in my fingers. Raph snatched for it, but I knew better and pulled it back in time. Raph growled, causing my smirk to widen. Oh, I missed teasing and provoking them. Especially Raph.

"Why, you little-"

"Now, calm down, big guy. There's no need for violence and cursing or whatever runs through your head." Keeping my gaze locked with him, I walked around both April and him towards Donnie and handed the phone to the turtle with glasses and purple bandana. Taken aback, he takes it from me and waste no time in deleting the photo.

"Haha. A child talking back to our big, fearless Raphael. I'm liking this too much." Mikey suddenly appears behind me with his hands shaking weakly my smaller form by the shoulders, until his big arms wrap around me, the ground leaving under my feet.

"Can we keep her?" Mikey smiled brightly at the leader. Had there be nothing holding me back, the truth would be already out and I would reunite with them and father.

"Mikey, let her go before you break her bones." Leo shakes his head with his arms crossed, never taking his suspicing eyes off of me. Pouting, Mikey sets me down and I take breath of fresh air. They're stronger than I remember.

"Ugh, you got strong grip there." What wasn't supposed to be really a compliment flew into Mikey's ears as one, and he flexed his muscles proudly.

"I know. Ninjas must be strong, that's why all the muscles. Ladies love them." He winked and I shook my head, visibly amused. He never stopped being himself, only grew more flirty and funny.

"You got a tattoo at such young age? You can't be older than 15." My heart race fastened, eyes widening as I turned to face Raph and Leo, lifting the hoodie to cover my bare shoulders showing the tattoo. They held this frown with suspicion, scanning my expression.

"That's none of your business." If only they knew. The suspicious look didn't slide down, but it was broken when Donnie grabbed our attention. Thank God.

"Guys, she's waking up." Exactly like before, they crowded around my best friend regaining her consciousness.

"Breathing steady. Blood pressure stabilizing."

"Why are we still here playing doctor?"

"She may have a head injury."

"Who may have a head injury, which makes it out civic duty to..."

"Enough."

"Ma'am, ma'am. Can you hear me? Do you know what city you're in? Do you know where you are?" Asked Donnie, snapping his fingers in April's face.

"Have you seen that video where the cat plays Chopsticks with the chopsticks?" Leo pushed Mikey away by his face, the poor turtle landing on his butt right beside me.

"Can we focus here?" Donnie put a comforting hand on April's shoulder.

"What are you?" After helping Mikey back onto his feet I tried to get a glimpse at my friend, their stupid shells huddled together like a big wall surrounding her. Ugh

"Well Miss, uh, we're ninjas."

"we're mutants.."

"Well, technically, we're turtles."

"Oh, and we're teenagers! But we can still have adult conversation." Mikey finished, changing his voice I can only cringe at.

"Wait, wait, wait, so...You're ninja, mutant, turtle teenagers?" The reporter tried to understand what these four guys are, however that seems to confuse her even more than before.

"Well, when you put it like that, it sounds ridiculous!" Stated Donnie.

"See, she's looking at us like we're freaks. I bet thet's why you took our picture, wasn't it? To show your friends?" Said Raph and jumped down.

"Bro, that's a good thing! Maybe she's got hot friends. Like that chick over there." Mikey failed at whispering, using one of his three fingers to point at me. I know they don't realize I'm their sister but hearing Mikey call me 'hot chick' while knowing what's probably running through his head is just EEWWW. Maybe we aren't related by blood but we're still family.

I got so caught up in grossing in my head when April threw her arms around my neck in crushing hug. Poor girl is frightened but damn, she's starting to choke me.

"April, I need air." She thankfully released me with little 'sorry' and faced my brothers again.

"Looking for this?" Raph showed the phone in his hand, which I don't remember giving him and sent a scowl Donnie's way, who pretend to be interested in the midnight sky.

"Don't break it. No, no, no, no, no, please." Begged April and Leo snatched the phone from Raph.

"How many times do I have to tell you? We don't break things, we fix them. Donnie already wiped the phone, genius. Problem solved, moving on." When Raph pushed Leo's shoulder, sigh leaves me with shake of head and crossed arms. It were false hopes for these two to get along and stop arguing over the same topic.

"And who put you in charge?"

"You know who did." Leo held intenze glare with Raph, his slightly shorter form looking a little ridiculous in my eyes. Some things never change.

"Uuuh, tension! it's been like 30 whole minutes since you guys had this argument." 30 minutes?! This much?! Wow, new record.

"Leonardo, if we want to make it home before Master, we gotta hustle." Finally Donnie got between the two and broke their intenze glaring. Upon hearing him mention our father, my ears perked. They turned back to me and April and Leo leaned down into our height.

"Do not say a word about this to anyone. If you do, we will find you, April O'Neil. And your friend too." His eyes lasted on me a little longer, like inspecting me if I look familiar to him or who I am in the first place. Maybe if they knew my name, they'd puzzle it.

"We're on the move, Raphael." The leader turned to the grumpy one. My ears didn't miss April's quiet whisper, repeating Raph's name to memorize it.

"Yeah, we'll find you, O'Neil." Mikey tried to use his 'flirty and dangerous' voice and was about to leave but he turned back to us. "I'm sorry, that came across super creepy, okay? We will find you two, though." Mikey pointed at us with smirk and all the four brothers began to jump away on the rooftops, making their way home. April ran to the edge and took a photo of them. Again. I had to snap my normal expression back when she turned to me.

"When did you came?"

"When you passed out. I'm gonna tell you, they're funny. I like them." April only shook her head at me and went up to the ladder, me of course following.

"Let's go home."

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Chapter Text

~∆~

All the way back home April kept muttering Leonardo and Raphael and it's becoming annoying. As soon as the front door to our apartment opened, April wasted no time in running into her room and to her closet.

"Girl, what are you doing?" I asked my roommate when April took out some box and emptied it, creating mess. I'm so not cleaning that up.

"Those names. I heard them from somewhere before. I know them. I just can't remember from where." April didn't even spare me a glance. Instead she pulled out a camera and put in it a disk. My curiousity pushed me forward to sit on my knees beside her, both of our attention on the old video record.

"Good evening. This is April O'Neil, reporting live from my daddy's lab. I know it sounds pretty boring, but actually he does some pretty cool stuff." The video showed face of young girl, or better young April, back when father was still alive.

"Time to put the camera away, April." A man sitting in a chair looked behind the camera at April, and I recognized him as Doctor O'Neil, April's dad. But there's someone else standing beside him. Is that the prick called Sacks?

"Leave her alone, Doc." My eyes widen when I hear the gentle voice belonging to a woman. She turn to swat April's dad shoulder with amused grin on her face, also sending one Young April's way. I can't really puzzle her face from the quality of the video, but what I can tell is she looks damn familiar.

"And now I will show you something amazing. It's supposed to be from a different planet in outer space." Young April attempted for 'mysterious voice', showing the camera against glass so we can see the tube of shining Mutagen.

"Here we go." Sacks' stupid face appeared in the video with one of my brothers when they were only normal turtles and he injected Mutagen into him.

"Mr. Sacks, what sort of experiments are you doing here?" The scene switched to where Sacks stands with April's father and most probably the familiar looking woman, yet she's out of the vision, only her bigger belly showing with her hands grabbing some pills from Sacks' fingers and throwing them into her mouth.

"That's a very complicated question. We're trying to change the world." My fist clenched and nose crunched, sick of this man. He's full of bullshit. What were those pills he gave the woman anyway?

"Look at the camera. Hello, Splinter." My eyes widen when young April points her camera at a little rat. This is my father? Now I feel ridiculous. April switched disks and I furrowed my eyebrows at her trembling hands.

"And these are mine and Mrs. L/n's little turtles. Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and here this little one in Mrs. L/n's hands is Donatello." The camera showed each of my brothers as little turtles, the last one with purple paint on his shell in hands of someone. But when the camera rises to show who's holding Donnie, my breath hitches.

It's the same woman from my dreams that begin with every time. She has the same kind smile, gentle eyes and voice sounding so angelic it's almost unreal. What is the coinsidence this woman keeps jumping in my dreams? Never before have I seen this woman so how come?

"Come on, April. It's feeding time. I'm sure they starve for pizza as much as us." The woman rubbed her yet to get bigger belly, 'us' meaning herself and the baby in there.

"I knew it. The vigilante. I saw him. I saw them! We saw them. I've known them since I was a little girl. They were my pets. They were my childhood pets, and they were named after Italian Renaissance painters." I didn't pay any attention to neither April nor Taylor standing in the door, keeping my eyes locked on the paused video showing the woman.

April left the camera in my hands and went to rumage more in her own mess, searching for more information about my brothers and how she's connected with them. Meanwhile I rewatched the scene with the woman at least ten times, still not getting why she looks so familiar and why she appears in my dreams. It just doesn't make sense.

"April?" She stops in whatever she were doing and turn to me, but I only point at the camera. "Who's this woman?"

"This? Oh. That's M/n L/n. She used to be my father's and Sacks's close friend." She moved closer to sit beside me, recognizing who it is. I frowned.

"Used to be?" April nodded, bitting her lip.

"Five months after the fire, she died at giving birth. Sacks told me the child wasn't strong enough and died shortly after her." A shaky breath leaves me as I look away, outside the window at the darkness consuming this city. Why do I have this feeling there's more that lies behind it than this?

"I need air." Wasting no time I shoot onto my feet, using big steps to get to the window and climb out on fire escapes. But before I can climb higher, April stops me by grabbing my sleeve.

"Wait!" I look at her confused."I need your help at my work tomorrow." Groan of annoyance comes out of my throat. I like hanging out with April when she's reporting something but not when it's with her other colleagues. They're such assholes.

"What for?" I don't wanna go anywhere tomorrow. All I ask for is one normal, free day doing nothing. Without worries and people around me. At least for once! And maybe try to find my brothers' exact location.

"You know." I groaned again.

"April. You heard what they said. They're ninjas and what are ninjas doing? They're staying in secret. I don't have the feeling they want people to know about them. And do you really think that when we tell your boss that it's not one vigilante but suddenly four turtle guys, she will believe us? April, think about it." I shook my head at my stubborn friend.

"I have to try at least." Was only thing April said and continued in doing her own business. You have to be kidding me.

"Do whatever you want, girl." April ignored the rest so I climbed at the top and transferred to few rooftops away, ending on one that has beautiful sight at the city. Getting fresh night air into my lungs, I let my body fall from the edge, smiling at the feeling of cold wind hitting my bare skin.

When I'm 10ft from the ground, from where's my tattoo spring out pair of giant, black, beautiful wings and they carry me up into the night sky, getting lost in this kind of freedom I ever get.

Unnoticed to me, pair of blackish eyes watches from underground, and he stroke his beard thoughtufully.

•∆•

In the morning I was woken up from another nightmare by April and almost punched her, luckily she had luck and ducked. After putting on my casual outfit we went to April's work.

April prepared everything with little of my help before I went for her boss. "O'Neil? Alright, what was so important that your friend had to get me?" Asked April's boss when we walked back to April's office, impatient. I seated myself in random chair and watched how is gonna April make this work.

"Okay, are you ready??" April's boss nodded. "Okay. You know how we saw the vigilante? But I had no photos or evidence to show you, so I just sounded crazy. Okay. But we saw him again. Well, we didn't see him again, we saw them, because there's four. There's not just one, there's four. And I was standing as close to them as you are to me right now." April's boss just keep nodding until she asked how they looked like so April walked over to a photo of a turtle. Normal turtle.

"What? Like turtles?" Purching my lips, I force my hand down to stop myself from bitting my nails out of nervousness. I know no one will believe in April's story but you never know.

"Well, they don't look like turtles because they are turtles. They're over six feet tall and they speak English." Boss looked at her like at an idiot then at me in question if she should believe it, which I nodded at but boss didn't believed us either way, not even a single word. She turned to walk away but April stopped her.

"I was awake all night, please look. I was awake all night googling all of the thwarted crimes over the past three months, and this symbol appeared at every single one." April pointed at drawing of a symbol which my brothers left after each fight.

"Look! Every single one of them. This one, look. Here, here, here, here, here. And it's an anciont Japanese symbol that means 'family'." April pointed at pictures of symbols and I walked up to them with April's laptop, where's paused video of young April feeding them with pizza.

"This is my father's lab. This is the same lab where these things were born of created or mutated. I don't know the terminology but will you please just look at what I'm showing you and listen to me. It's all connected. The turtles are the vigilantes and the vigilantes are these turtles." April unpaused the video. Her boss grabbed the laptop and closed it.

"I just want to be clear. You are now telling me that there are four six-foot talking turtles walking around New York City, and no one has seen them but you two?" Boss points at both of us.

"That's what I'm telling you." My friend nods tiredly and I bite inside of my cheek.

"I don't mean to laugh, but is there anything else we should know about them?" Asked boss, visibly done with this shit April pulled.

"They're ninjas. And they do karate." April added.

"Okay, get out."

•∆•

We walked out the building that now used to be April's work place, and I look at her with pity when she sniffles.

"O'Neil. Y/N." Our attention is taken by Vern, who stops leaning against his van and approach us. "It could have been worse."

"I just got fired, Vern. How could it be worse?"

"Maybe it's good. Maybe you should... take a little time, take care of yourself. Come on, let me give you two a ride." Vern turned to walk to his van but April had different plans and turned other direction.

"Not unless you're going to the Eric Sacks estate. I'm not giving up on this story." Vern grabbed her arm, stopping her.

"Hey! You gotta put that to bed." He told her.

"Would all of those other great reporters that you worked with, would they have 'put it to bed'?" I roll my eyes at April being the stubborn herself.

"That's different."

"How is it different? They all started exactly where I am, right?" There was a minute of tense silence before Vern took April's box.

"I'm not driving the Channel 6 news van onto the Sacks estate." I shake my head at Vern giving in to drive her to Sacks, bad feeling settling in my stomach.

"I will see you at home." I turned to walk the other direction, having no mood to go any closer to Sacks. I had no time to make even a step when I was yanked back and dragged to the van.

"You are in this with me, girl, which means you tag along." I can only growl to myself, either way jumping to the back where I usually sit when going somewhere with them.

"So, what do you want with Eric Sacks?" Asked Vern, buckling.

"My dad used to work for him. He's the only person that's gonna be able to tell me wheter or not I'm crazy." When April said it, I began to panic. She want to reveal my brothers to fucking Sacks and if she does, everything will go wrong!

"Crazy about what?"

"I don't need you to laugh at me also." April cut Vern off.

"Oh, come on, O'Neil. This is the Fenwick Express, it's judgement-free zone. A cocoon of safety." I narrowed an eyebrow at Vern, remembering the time when he judged me for my behavior. Not like I cared.

"Promise?" Asked April, sniffing.

"I'm insulted that you would suggest otherwise." Were last words before Vern started the van and we made our way to Sacks place.

Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Chapter Text

~∆~

A little, young girl approached her father with hopeful grin playing on her lips and he turned when he heard bare feet coming his way.

"What is it, my child?"

He crouch down to his daughter's height with his hand landing on her shoulder, wondering what got her this happy. She glances the way she came from her quick walk through sewers and back at her father, crossing fingers behind her back.

"Dad, since I'm already 7 years old, could I go explore?"

But when she saw the look in his blackish eyes and hear him sigh, she know things won't go according to her imagination.

"Please, dad, just for a while. I will be extra careful. I can protect myself!"

She held her hands up clasped together, pleading her father for approval.

Out of all his five children, she's the most curious one about the surface world with people just like her, and he understand she wanna know more about her own specie. But it's not the right time. Not yet.

"Y/N. We have talked about this. The world you wish to know is way cruel than you think it is. It is too dangerous for you."

All the hope she held crashed down like plane into ocean, sinking down and losing itself.

"Dad, please-"

"No, Y/N. It is decided. End of discussion."

Splinter rose back into his full height and turned his back to his daughter with hands held back like professors in schools.

Her cheeks turned red in anger, her small fists clenching tigtly until her nails drew blood on her palms.

"This isn't fair! How am I supposed to learn about myself when I know nothing about humans?!"

Splinter turned back to her and held his hands towards her once he sees her fuming in anger.

"Y/N, I understand your curiousity, but your not ready yet-"

But the anger got better of her and she raised her voice at him, which she never does.

"No! Leave me alone!"

And she storm past her brothers into the maze of sewers, her father shaking his head in disappointment.

...

I jerk awake, gaining consciousness after this short nap I took again in Vern's van. I hate this. The nightmares are horrible. Are they ever gonna stop? I hope so.

"Y/N." An arm touches my shoulder, startling me and I snap my head to April, who's wearing look of concern. "Are you alright? You were mumbling 'sorry' over and over."

Staring at her in confusion, my heart race calmed down slowly. Shaking my head, I push myself into sitting position and lean against the wall of van. "I'm fine. Don't worry. Are we there yet?"

"Almost. You coming with me inside?" My look saying 'are you mental?' is enough answer for her, nevertheless I speak up.

"Not happening." She didn't say more, only bit her lips and turned back forward, while I wrapped arms around my knees pulled to chest, losing in thoughts of 'what if'. I didn't even realize we're here until Vern halted the van to stop.

"Thanks for the ride, Vern." Thanked April and unbuckled herself.

"Yeah. No problem. Nothing better than dropping off a pretty girl at a rich guy's house." Sarcasm drips from Vern's tongue and I pat his shoulder, at which he looks at me.

•∆•

By the time we got back home, it turned evening until the blue sky turned to my favourite midnight black, showing hundreds of stars. That's also when we parted ways, April going to our apartment and me hanging on the rooftops; my favourite activity.

Sitting on the edge of one of the roofs, my legs folded criss-cross, my phone buzzes and I pull it out to see April sent me text: 'THE TURTLES WANTS US TO MEET AT THE SAME ROOFTOP LIKE BEFORE. NOW.'

My eyebrows knit together in confusion, a little excitement in my chest for getting to be with my brothers again. However, I waste no time and make my way there, not using my wings though. I climb the fire escape to the top and see April already standing there with her back facing me.

"Hello?!" With unhearable footsteps I crept behind her and grabbed onto her shoulders, making her let out short scream. She relax once she sees it's me laughing my ass off.

"Jesus, Y/N. It's only you." She breathed out puff of air, her chest lifting up and down quickly.

"Disappointed to see me?" I teased with smirk, crossing arms on my chest. Before April can answer, Mikey appear behind her and turn her around to face him, startling her again. Scaring people seems to run in the family.

"Okay. Are you April O'Neil and her friend?" The question is aimed especially at April, pointing first at her then at me.

"In all our glory." A grin crawl on my face, doing small bow. Mikey grinned.

"Initiating retinal scan. Scanning, scanning, scanning, scanning. Scan complete. It's them. It's them. Guys, it's them!" Donnie walked out from behind corner with his scan light blinding us and I jump out of the way, rubbing my eyes and causing me to hit hard chest.

"Of course it's them, Donnie. Hey. Really glad you could make it. There's someone important we want to introduce you two to, but first..." Leo's arms wrap around mine and April's shoulders until she pushes away from him, giving Raph clear room to jump behind her and throw red bag on her head.

"Crap-" Before I can fully finish, they throw bag over my head too.

•∆•

"Where are we?" Is April's first question when we're set back onto our feet, and I can't help but snicker at their seenthrough bags that were supposed to block our sight.

"Are we in the sewer?" If I wasn't holding back secrets, I'd tell April she wil get used to it.

"No, technically yes." We hear Donnie admit and I see Mikey lower his arms.

"Yeah. Yeah, it's a sewer." The bag is pulled off my head and I'm ready to scold them for using wrong bags when my eyes land on figure standing in front of us, my father wearing his warm, fatherly smile I missed for years. And everything is my fault, because I was stupid and selfish.

"You brought us here, April." Even his voice carry the same care he always held for me and my brothers, and I feel like I don't deserve it.

"Splinter?" April breathe out and walk up to him without me following. Feeling all the guilt falling on me like bird poop, I wrap my arms around me, wanting nothing more than shrink back and disappear, but before that give a big hug to him.

"How does she know his name?"

"Did you tell her his name?"

"Maybe she's clairvoyants."

"Maybe she's Jedi!" Having not feeling anxiety crawling up on me, afraid dad is gonna push me away after what I said to him, I would've laughed at my turtle ninja brothers. Dad inspected April closely when she reached him, his warm smile never fading.

"It's been a long time. Hmm. You always did have your father's eyes. " He said.

"I don't understand." April said, confused.

"Don't be afraid. All will be made clear." He gestured with his hand.

"This is crazy." I can't see April's expression but know this is a lot to take in for her. And for me too.

"It's not as crazy as it seems to, April." Me speaking up brought eyes on me, ones belonging to my dad.

"Come closer, child." My breath hitched but listened to him anyway, moving till I'm standing right in front of him. Just like April, he inspect me closely, like searching in my tearing eyes if he's seeing who he think he sees. Then he smiles and hold my shaking hands in his.

"We may have been separated for years cause of your desire to know more, and it would be lie if I said our argument didn't print painful stains, but after all, father still loves his daughter dearly. And I'm proud to say, welcome home, Y/n."

The tears I was attempting to hold back finally spilled over, one after one, and I wasted no more time throwing myself into his opened embrance.

"WHAT?!" Five voices call out, but my mind is filled only with regret and guilt to acknowledge them.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, sorry, sorry. I didn't mean it. Please, forgive me, dad." I cried more, the tears staining dad's kimono.

"There's nothing to forgive, my daughter. Everybody makes mistakes." His hand rubbed my back and shoulder in soothing maneuver, causing me to snuggle even more into his arms.

"But Sensei, how can you be so sure it's her?" Leonardo stepped forward, scanning me up and down and trying to recognize me just the way dad did. And he ain't alone.

"Yeah. She looks so....different." Mikey tilted his head, all of the brothers matching expression.

"It's been 8 years, Mikey. If she hasn't died, she grew up with high possibility into unrecognition." Donnie stated, fixing his glasses. Dad hummed into smile and pulled from our hug so I can wipe my cheeks and face my brothers.

"A parent always know which child is theirs." Both of dad's hands held my shoulders. "But if you need prove." And he moved my hair out of the way, revealing the ugly x-shaped scar on the side of my neck I had ever since dad found me. It only stretched bigger and bigger by my time growing up.

Mikey is the first one to snap from the shock that dwell on them, walking to me to trace his finger over the scar to make himself sure it's not fake or anything and his long lost little sister is standing right in front of him.

"Oh my god, it's her. Guys, it's her! It's really her! I missed you so much!" It happened too fast for me to process but I found myself squished in Mikey's large arms, spinning us both around. His happiness lifted the corners of my lips upwards into giggle.

"She's back! Our little sister is back!" Another body joined our little reunion hug, jumping around along with Mikey as my feet dangled in air.

"Guys, let her breathe. We just got her back." This voice belong to the fearless leader, holding his arms open for me to jump in with that brotherly smile, not like usually with his strict self. Immediately I jumped into his embrance, not allowing another load of tears spilling over.

"I missed you guys so much. So, so much." My grip around his neck only tightened, wishing for this moment to never end, to stay with them. I'm not leaving them this time.

"We missed you too." His breath tickle my ear, yet I pay no attention to it, too occupied melting into his embrance. That was until I noticed the toughest turtle sitting down with his gaze lowered, staring at nothing particular. With tap on Leo's shoulder to lower me down, I slowly approach Raph with worry weighting in my chest, afraid he isn't glad to have me back.

"Raph?" At first it looked like he's completely out of world, zonet out and ignoring everything and everyone, when he lifted his head for me to notice his eyes are glozzy.

Back when we were kids, he never let any of us to see him cry, let alone know he actually does. Only once has it happened when I stumbled upon him on sewer walk, getting pushed away in the result.

"We thought your gone, forever. We believed for years that.....you're dead. Ho-How?" Seeing him looking so vulnerable makes my heart crack. It wasn't like I had any favourite brother or one I liked to hang out with mostly, so it's quite surprising Raph has taken my disappearance to heart the hardest, not to say letting others also to see.

"Aw, Raph." He stiffed when I did the same like with others, hugging him tightly around neck. After few seconds of hesitation he eased up and wrapped his bulky arms around my smaller form, and I'm sure after this the guys won't stop teasing Raph about him being big softie actually.

"I don't understand." April cut in, watching the whole scene with confusion drawn on her features. She glanced between us all before at me. "How are you related with them?"

"Let's take a seat for this." Dad suggested, already sitting down so we went to join him.

Chapter Text

~∆~

"Listen closely, April. I don't remember a time before living in that laboratory. That fateful night started like any other. Sacks gave us our injections. Your father made sure our vital signs were strong. And you, along with Miss L/N, as always, provided us with a special treat."

"After the brothers went to sleep, I heard loud voices. There was the smell of smoke. Alarms sounded. Your father had discovered the truth behind the man he was working for. He set fire to the lab. His last breath was taken trying to destroy Shredder's plan. I was terrified. But then, you appeared. And ushered us to safety. I never had a voice then, but I thank you now, April."

"We wandered the sewers until I found this place. It was then that the Mutagen that was injected into our blood began to change us in miraculous ways. I saw how your father loved you and I knew I had to show that same love to the turtles. I became their father and they became my sons."

"That's when I found Y/n. A year after we turned, I stumbled upon a little human baby, no older than few months, wrapped in nothing but a single blanket while shivering in cold. I knew I couldn't leave her there just like that so I listened to my intuition, which told me to take her in. Along with the turtles, she became my daughter, the youngest child."

"You could've missed the part about me being youngest." I couldn't help but grumple, causing dad and brothers to chuckle.

"Like all children, they were drawn to the distractions of popular culture, one of the five having her interest most. And I knew one day they would want to explore the world above. They would be ridiculed. They would need to learn to protect themselves, both mentally and physically. And then I found a way."

"First, I would teach myself the ancient art of Ninjutsu. The brothers and sister followed my lead, accelerating at a woundrous rate! Their gift was also their passion. They lived, breathed and dreamed all things martial arts." Memories flashed in front of my eyes like tape being played, and I wonder if they saved my weapon or threw it away.

"Yet Y/n's curiousity grew heavier. She wanted to know more about herself, her species, how humans live and work. She wanted to explore. Due to her being just a youngling, I couldn't let her, ending with her walking away in both disappointment and anger. Until one day, when she begged for approval to go on surface and I refused, she ran away."

"Have I knew sooner that she won't be coming back, I'd follow her immediately. It was a mistake we both made. But even, after many attempts of searching for her, I never lost hope, because I believed she's somewhere out there. Unfortunately, her brothers did lose hope." I didn't dare to meet anyone's eyes, fidgeting with my fingers in my lap.

"Years went go by and then, they were ready. Everything they are and everything that they've become was made possible by the bravery that you displayed on that fateful night." Finished the whole explanation dad.

"I was just a little girl." Stated April, trying to process everything she heard.

"And you gave us freedom where others would have kept us in cage."

"Wait a minute, dad. All these years you told us we were rescued from the fire by a great guardian spirit, the Hogo-sha." Leo spoke up, kneeling down to match our height.

"That's right. And this is the Hogo-sha." Dad gestured to confused April. Leo stood up straight then took a step forward and bowed, Mikey doing the same and Donnie too after he scanned her.

"My girlfriend's totally the Hogo-sha." Mikey whispered to Leo, who slaped his arm to shut up, making me smile at them. Dad turned to me.

"But there's still a thing we don't know. What happened after you ran away?" Everyone's attention switched on me as my smile disappeared, all of them patiently waiting for me to start talking. Bitting my lip, I look down.

"Well, uhm, you most probably puzzled I went on surface. Hence I was nothing but a stupid child, knowing nothing about outside world, I got lost easily. Too mesmerized by the beauty of New York City, I didn't care. Until they dragged me to back alley and threw me into van." Glancing over each my brother, father and friend, I panted for air.

"It showed up they took me to Eric Sacks, for experimenting." Upon hearing this, April's eyes widen into size of plates.

"Yeah. He held me there for three years, ignoring the fact I was only weak child capable of nothing at all. Without hint of sympathy he experimented on me in all sorts of methods, abused me, starved me till I begged him, tattooed my mark. Believe me when I say he's crueler than he seems to be." Shaking my head, my eyes scan their expression.

April seems to be on verge of crying while dad only shakes his head, covering his eyes with his hand. Unlike my brothers, divided into two and two. Mikey and Donnie hold faces full of pity, regret, horror and pain, and Leo with Raph sharing dark cloud of murders above them, ready to puch anyone that even dare to speak up and break their last straw.

"What kind of thinking could he have to cause this lot of pain to an innocent child?" Donnie ask rather rhetorically. I shrug my shoulders.

"I don't know. Don't think I want to. All I know is he wanted to achieve some result from Mutagen working. And for some unexplainable reason it had to be me the one to end up like this. Though I have this feeling he wanted exactly me in the first place. Don't ask why, it's just a feeling." I was quick to shut Leo up when he wanted to ask what I mean.

"Did the Mutagen work?" Dad suddenly asked, my head turning to him.

"Oh, it did. Thankfully it happened after Sacks gave up on me and kicked me on street, where April found me and took me in. Otherwise I'd be still prisoned by him." I began pulling my hoodie/jacket off so I can make free room for my strong beauties to show up.

"Eh, is it just me or there's nothing really wierd about you that could Mutagen cause?" Mikey asked, looking me up and down in thinking way. I smirk.

"I went through different change than you guys did. How come I got these is still mystery to me, though." After I say this, from my back crawl out my amazing wings, stretching after some time being folded and hidden. I smile at both them and Mikey awing with Donnie.

"That is so cool! Our sister is half-bird mutant." The comment makes chuckle come out from my throat and I lower my wings, drapping one around April's back and getting her to smile.

She was the first one to ever know about me being wierd, different, a mutant, and was kind enough to help me get control over the new addition. My wings never disappointed me in anything, not even in making April smile.

"So you're now what? A bird-mutant-human child?" I shoot Raphael a look when he calls me a child.

"I'm 15. Two years younger than you, jerk." He squirm his eyes at me in glare for calling him 'jerk' and my mocking tone.

"But yeah, you could say that. At least I fully belong in the family now, right?" It comes out as a joke, in fact it being truth. When we were younger, I always wondered if there's something interesting or not normal about me like with my family. Now I blend in.

"No matter what creature you are, if you're human or animal or mutant, you will always belong in this family, my child." A warm hand places on my shoulder and I smile up at my father, my wings jerking.

"So tell us, dad, why is April here? There must be other reason than just give her explanation about us." I get us back to the topic and dad sits back in his place, crossing his legs.

"To find out who you told of our existence."

"Nobody that believed me, except for Eric Sacks." As April's lips leaves this name, my dad sigh and stand up, worry crawling up my chest.

"Sacks. Just as I feared. Sacks is not a friend. His soul has been poisoned by the influence of a dark master. The Shredder. Shredder practically raised Sacks in Japan. He's like a father to him. Sacks will do anything for his master." He slowly walked to my big brothers towering over us all. If this wasn't serious moment, I'd be giggling for comparing them to Dwayne Johnson standing next to Kevin Hart.

"Wait, wait. Sacks and Shredder? So why aren't we out there hunting them down?" Raph steps up, frown worn on his face.

"Because, Raphael. The Shredder is a skilled warrior whose cruelty is ever-reaching! And you are just teenagers. The mutagen in your blood is of great value to them. Now that Sacks has confirmation that you are alive, I fear they will bring the fight to us." April pull out from her jacket some kind of cart and my eyes widen in horror when I read what's written on it.

"Oh no." We muttered in unison, sharing a worried look. The alarm suddenly goes off, beeping annoyingly in the whole liar and with April I stand up, shrinking my wings back and pulling hoodie/jacket over my shoulders.

"Perimeter infringe. Breached! We have incoming!" Everyone but dad run to computers as Donnie tapped something there and check where are the intruders, or better Foot Clan.

"Oh, no! Oh, no! We got two breaches. Fan room, weapons wall!"

"Mikey, flank right! Donnie, on me! We gotta go! Go! Go!" Leo orders and they split, giving me no time to decide what should I do so I just follow Mikey.

"No! Get back!" Dad tried to warn but it's too late. The bomb Foot Clan set exploded and sent us flying back, some pieces of the wall hitting my form, containing head.

"Oh, jeez. Y/n, you alright?" Mikey's words are muffled in my ears, hence of the ringing in them, although it stops shortly after and I let Mikey lift me on my feet.

"I'm alright. Come on." We run to computers and jumped behind the wall.

"Where did you put my chain?!" I yell-whisper over the noise at Mikey in front of me.

"In the kitched! We used it as holder for shelf!" He yell-whisper back and I shoot him poker face. Are they serious?

"Over there! Tango at 12!" We hear yell one Foot Clan soldier, coming our way.

"Now watch me." Mikey stood up and turned to Foot Clan soldiers.

"Wassup, bra?" They shoot at him but he dodge with his nunchaks. "Ooh, you think you can handle this, huh? I'm a snapping turtle, fool. Snap, snap, snap!" He jumped at them and I only heard him knock them out. Peeking from behind the wall, I see all three soldiers knocked out on the ground.

"Learn from mister, sis." Smirked smugly Mikey, spinning his nunchaks. The only I do is let the dry laugh leave me. We're interrupt by Leo calling at us.

"Mikey, you gotta get April and Y/n out of there, now!"

"I got this!" Before I know it, I'm picked under Mikey's arm and on his skateboard he get to April, who was hiding from this fight. He began dragging us somewhere, much to my protest.

"April, come with me. I got a safe place for you two to hide. And if you get thirsty, I got a secret stash of Orange Cruch behind the fridge. Don't tell Raph." April nodded at him. Taking the moment of distraction, I tear my arm from Mikey's and run back into the fight.

"Y/n!" I pay no attention to him, only blowing him a kiss before vanishing behind a wall as I make my way to kitchen. And just like Miley said, there hang my chain, used as holder for random wood so they can put things on it. Very original. With one tug I rip it from the hooks, stuff along with the wood falling to the ground. Doesn't matter, I got my weapon back!

With my hand gripping the holder, I make my way to help brothers. A soldier was pointing at Donnie with his gun so I threw at him dull end of the chain, knocking him out and joining Donnie's side.

"Y/n?! You're supposed to be hidden!" He tries to look at me over his shoulder, the four Foot Clan idiots occupying him already with more coming. Giving him raised eyebrow, I use my chain to wrap around neck of soldier and pull him towards me, punching him into unconsciousness and elbowing in the face another that came at me from behind.

"Eh, I got bored?" Shrug of my shoulders to answer my nerdy brother and my chain flies at head of another soldier, the dull end hitting him hard enough to knock him out. I'm so glad it's still in my hands.

"Donnie!" Leo's pained voice echo into our ears, tearing my eyes from Foot Clan for quick second to see my oldest brother being electrified. No!

"Hang on, Leo! Be right there!" Donnie yelled to him but he's got too much work with fighting off Foot Clan soldiers, leaving it to my hands. This time I wrapped the chain around my arm after I slid the jacket/hoodie off of me, letting my beautiful dark wings stretch wide, in the process accidentally hitting a soldier in the face.

"Ups. Sorry!" I apologize to him and spread my wings, hitting something again until I'm in the air. None of the soldiers got time to realize someone is flying at them, till I kicked one away and jumped at another, for the other two using my wings to throw them against the wall, hard. Ouch. I turn back to Leo and offer him helping hand.

"Thanks. Nice moves." Smile comes on my face at his compliment, gesturing to my wings.

"Thanks, but I could use some training. What about after this ends?" He nod with smile in return and I nudge him with my wing. Only then our eyes drift to dojo, seeing dad getting thrown and beaten by the one and only Shredder.

"Sensei!" Me and my brother run to help our father.

"No, my children! Stay back!" Dad pulled the lever, bars falling down and blocking us from entering dojo. Mikey and Donnie came and as well tried to pull the bars up.

"Sensei! Dad! Dad! What are you doing?"

"Hide!" Shredder jumped to Splinter from behind, grabbing the back of his kimono and dragging him away. Tears began filling the corners of my e/c eyes, cursing myself for not being strong enough to pull these damn bars up.

"No! No!"

"Save yourselves!" Dad called to us before Shredder slammed him on the ground. Everything around me turned muted. No. This is not what I wanted to happen at my reunition with my family. This isn't fair!

Shredder threw dad in the air, making him hit a metal bridge above them and fall back down, Shredder punching him in the air. We managed to lift the bars enough for Donnie to put under them his shortened bo staff and it spread longer, forcing bars up and we step into the room in fighting position, ready to attack. Soldiers surrounded us, ready to electrify.

"Children, drop your weapons, or your father will die." Shredder aimed his arm with knives at dad's chest, who looked up at us weakly. I growled under my breath.

Unlike my brothers, I'm ready to pounce and beat the shit out of every soldier here, along with Shredder. But then I see Leo straighten up, keeping his hard glare trained on the true monster in front of us while letting go of his katanas. And we others follow.

Right as we are fully unarmed, Shredder stabs his knives into dad and my eyes widen.

"NO!" Maybe it's only me but it seems like my voice pierced over my brothers' screams. However I pay it no mind and jump into the air at Shredder before they can electrify me. It was another mistake I made, Shredders gloved hand wrapping around my throat in tight grip, one in which I'm panting for air with grit teeth.

"You are a monster." It comes out choked, my nails and bare hands useless against his armour crawled at. He scans me from under mask, tilting his head. He pulls me closer, my nose inches from his mask.

"The only monster here is you and your so called 'family', stupid girl." And then, everything goes black.

Third person pov...

The three caged turtles listened to Sacks's stupid and cruel explanation of his evil plans, putting the brothers in mix of emotions, jerking their wrists in attempt to free themself, if the chains weren't so strong.

Since they're unable to do anything, they only glared at Sacks and everyone else in the laboratory like room, hatred evident in their eyes. Until their attention shifted to single cage to the left from turtles, grunts and groans coming from there.

Sacks smirks Leo's way, puzzling he's the most protective one by the looks of his behavior, and moved to stand some distance from the other cage, similar to ones turtles are held in.

"Good morning, Sunshine. Glad you can finally join us." All of the brothers' eyes widen in terror when they notice who's Sacks talking to, and what they see makes their hearts beat in pain.

It takes Y/n some time to adjust to the light so she can open her eyes and regain consciousness, feeling her whole body sore from the position she's been in most probably for couple of hours. But what wakes her up fully is the unbearable burning pain in her back, for some reason feeling too light.

She completely ignored Sacks talking to her, occupied by trying to turn her head and see what's causing the pain, hissing in the process. Before they knocked her out, she felt fully in her form, nothing missing, but now she feels...naked. Why, though? Her clothes are still on.

The answer comes when she takes glimpse of her back, her mouth falling open and back with no words like fish, till her throat let out first sob, followed with multiple ones along with whimpers.

"Now, now, let's make no big deal out of it-" Sacks is still ignored when Y/n's sobs turned into screams of pain and agony, couple of tears running down her cheeks.

The place began shaking suddenly once her screams got louder. It calmed down soon, Y/n's screams quietening back into whimpers.

"You have done this to me." Sacks turned his gaze back to the cage, this time Y/n's e/c eyes borring into him in hatred.

"Your wings, which are my own creation in the first place, are now in better place. They will be taken good care off." Sacks's face remain neutral, only holding hidden smirk at those thoughts whirling in his head. Y/n scoff.

"Your creation? Tch. Who do you think you are? Doctor Frankenstein?" There's no sadness or sorrow left on her face or in her voice, only anger and fury shown.

"Someone better. I'm the one that created them," Sacks point over at Leo, Donnie and Mikey, who's been watching them this whole time. The man then pointed at her. "and made you the way you are." Knitting eyebrows together, Y/N stared at him.

"It's unfortune your mother wasn't able to survive, despite not knowing to what she's gonna give life to." At the mention of mother, Y/n's head perk up in confusion, not liking the bad feeling in her gut.

"You knew my mother?" Sacks smirked at her reaction, having his arms folded on his chest.

"She was close friend of mine. Very pure and innocent soul. While of her pregnancy, she's been having unpleasant pains, and I wanted to help her. But I also was very curious man. And I had an idea." All four siblings listened closely to what's Sacks saying, waiting for new pieces of puzzles to be thrown at them so they can puzzle it all together.

"The Mutagen has changing effects, and I believed it will change her pain. To do it, mixure of Mutagen and bird DNA has been put into pill I gave her repeatedly. I had to lie they were pain killers, luckily it seemed to heal her pain and she had no reason to suspice me." Silence is followed in the room, all of them waiting for the next thing Y/n gonna say. Closing her eyes, she let Sacks' words settle in, gulping the amount of insulting words that so desperately wished to be thrown the man's way.

"Why the bird DNA?" It's another thing that crossed her mind ever since getting her wings, not like she's complaining about them, but if something it could have been ears or tail or deformed body or body parts, so why wings?

She took notice of the way Sacks is looking at her, either way cooking new evil thoughts or remembering at something, or someone.
"Her favourite animal was raven."

It, sure enough, makes sense. Y/n's wings are the same shade of black like raven's, as well as shape. Only way beautiful. Still, though, there's something that Y/n wish to have answer to when she remembered the video April showed her and told her about the woman, which now she understand was her mother.

"Why did you lie about me not making it when my mother died?" It quite surprised Sacks she knows such thing, either way he doesn't care enough to ask.

"To get people off of our back. I needed you to be kept in secret. Maybe your mother died but you didn't, so I continued with research. At the time, when you were only little baby, there were no signs of you being affected by neither the Mutagen or DNA, so-"

"So you threw me in the sewers." Y/n finished for him, putting two and two together. Everything makes complete sense now. She knew he's bastard, but didn't expect him to stand behind everything. He's worse than she thought.

"No, I ordered my people to get rid of you. What they did with you was no longer my concern." In this moment there are only two things that Y/n feel; fury and emptiness.

Even though in real it was Sacks that gave Y/n's mother pills when he wasn't sure what influence does it have, causing her body to change in more ways than only heal from pain, Y/n still feel the blame is on her. Because of giving birth to her, her mother died.

"You're sick, evil bastard." Despite her hands being chained, they shook visibly, clenched in tight fists. She gives him hated mocking face, leaning forward as much as she's allowed to. "People only see you as the good man that's gonna help them all, but I assure you, karma will find it's way to you. If not somebody else, I will make sure everyone know who you TRULLY ARE!"

Donnie, Leo and Mikey share looks, seeing their sister this aggrieved for very first time. Sacks, once again, only stare back, holding their intenze eye contact that seem to turn air in the room stuffy.

"In that case we gotta make sure it doesn't happen, right?" He half-smirk, unfolding his arms to wave his hand at the people in white coats. "Turn it on."

Right as a bald man in lab coat pressed few buttons, Y/N felt the not-so-slow change in her system, feeling the energy draining from her and replacing with weakness. And so does her brothers, them becoming weaker at slower pace than her, due to her smaller form.

Just then alarm went off in the whole building, meaning someone unwelcomed barged in without invitation. All the panic and noise, though, turned muffled in Y/n's ears, giving her head fine headache and cutting her time sensitivity.

Even though there's almost no strenght in her left, leaving her hanging in the glassed cage by her wrists, she's still conscious enough to pick up banging on the plastic glass across from her. And she's more than happy to recognize blurred red bandana, belonging to her tough brother that somehow avoided getting caught and thrown into cage.

He's talking to her, his mouth moving with incomprehensible words slipping out, in Y/n's ears sounding like there are hands covering her ears tightly. Much to Raph's worry, her head fell hanging again, unmoving like she's a doll held by strings on her wrists, a sight that no person wants to see of their loving ones. And it pisses Raph off.

So much he pulls out his sias, ready to destroy the cage into tiny pieces when it didn't budge at his strong fists hitting it. To his unfortune, some prick just had to get in way.

By the state she's in, Y/n lost track of time, barely conscious. All she wanna do is sleep and never wake up, which in her place is gonna happen when they completely dry her out of Mutagen, and unlike her brothers, she's got less time than them.

Leo, Donnie and Mikey all of sudden shoot up with life and energy, breathing heavily at the adrenaline rushing into them that April, who finally came and gasped at the state of her best friend, turned on.

They torred themself from the chains and tubes, breaking the glass cage by jumping out, running around filled with energy in them and saying stuff neither Vern or April can understand them.

"Donnie, get Y/n!" Leo ordered once their eyes landed on limp body of their sister, and Donnie wasted no time from running over to her cage, in blink of an eye breaking it along with the chains holding her up. Donnie caught her before she can collide with shattered glass, checking her over with the time they got. Not much.

Her skin is colder than usual, thankfully her heart beat is coming back to normal and that put the geek in slight relief.

He scooped her into his slim yet strong arm, following the way their brothers got down to Raph. He almost let go of her when he stumbled over after landing down, for more safety tightening his grip on her form pulled against his chest.

"New York City! Times Square!"

"Shredder's going to release a toxin!"

"It's gonna poison the whole city!"

"And Sacks is gonna sell the antidote!" The three brothers ran around in rush and spilling everything Sacks just told them, taking their weapons from Raphael.

"Good. Let's do it for Sensei." They all followed Raph outside, the bouncing waking their unconscious sister as she groaned in pain and weakness.

"Everybody calm down! Look how calm I am!" If she had any strenght to open her mouth, she'd tell Mikey to shut up.

"Sacks is airborne!" By the time they made it outside into the snowy weather that sent chill down Y/n's spine, Sacks is already in helicopter flying away.

"Get us out of here, Donnie!" Donnie did as he was told once he handed their weak yet at least awake sister to Mikey and scanned a truck before he noticed a soldier pointiong at them with gun.

"Oh, my gosh, they have guns!" He yelled in funny freaked out voice. Foot Clan began shooting, which left the four brothers to make a shield around April and Vern with their shells, Mikey making sure his sister is out of reach getting hit by bullet.

"Ha! Are you guys okay?" Leo asked, glancing at his brothers in pure awe, adrenaline still hitting him clearly hard.

"We're bulletproof."

"Sweet." Again they began to shoot, the loud noise giving Y/N slight headache she decided to ignore and couraged in her head to gain some little energy, at least enough to stand if not fight right away.

"Can you drive that truck?" Leo pointed at truck behind them as Vern nodded his head.

"Yeah!"

"We're on Raph. Ready?" Raph is as the first to back up and like that, others joined. Mikey helped April and Vern get safely to the truck Donnie scanned before, struggling to hold up his wriggling sister that grew too stubborn to let herself be carried and argued she's getting her strenght back.

"Oh God, Mikey, I'm fine! I can walk." But truth is bitch, right as her feet touched the ground, she stumbled forward, has it not been for her brother catching her.

"You were saying?" She only glared at him at his remark, though didn't protest when he looped her arm over his shoulder and helped her limp towards the truck.

"We have to go!" The other three joined by climbing into the back of truck, Raph holding carefully onto Y/n to make sure her knees doesn't give up or lose her balance, much to her dislike as she took from him her chain she lastly held back in sewers and wrapped it around her arm. She still feel the burning pain on her back, the coldness nipping at her skin in stinging way.

Raph banged his fist against the back of the truck's wall, yelling at Vern to move this thing so they can go. Right as they burst through the gate, the impact forcing all the siblings to hold tighter on anything available. Y/n noticed four cars filled with Foot Clan soldiers, including Karai, chasing after them.

"Oh, for fuck's sake." Using the wall as support, she managed to make her way to the opening of the truck.

"What are you doing?! Get in the back!" Her eldest brother scolded her, using his thumb to point into back where's only Raph standing. But she ignored him, needing to satisfy the urge to spit all kind of curses at these people after them.

"You know what?! Fuck you, people!" And she showed the four cars her middle fingers, knowing she's very much getting on Karai's nerves. A three-fingered hand grabbed the back of her tank top, pulled her back and held firmly against their side.

"You are unbelievable!" Once again Leo scolded, raising his voice to be heard over the noise. Rolling her eyes, Y/n only smirked as she held onto Donnie's arm for balance.

"What? That was nothing. I got yet plenty stuff to say. But that would be for long." The only both geek and leader did was shake of head.

All of sudden, a bomb exploded next to the truck, startling Vern to the point where he lost wheeling and ended up with half truck sticking out the edge. Y/n held her throbbing head in pain, accepting Donnie's help to lift herself from laying on her stomach.

"Where's Leo?" A flash of panic crosses her face when there's no sight of blue bandana, not asking for Mikey due to hearing him above them. Before she got thrown at the wall of truck, Leo pulled an arm around both her and Donnie in attempt to keep them from getting hurt, but then her body left their side when the truck jerked.

"He fell out." Hearing this, she was ready to jump out just to make sure Leo is alright and Foot Clan didn't get him, when the truck backed and leaned back down the long hill, making it almost impossible for turtles and Y/n to stand on their feet without slipping. And there he sat, with his shell and katanas facing them, completely unaware they're about to run him over.

"Leo! Move! Move!" Luckily he heard their warning and ducked under right in time. The truck turned around so Vern can see where he's actually leading them, turtles with Y/n now seeing the way behind them, where happens to be the four cars speeding down after them, one of them using some kind of wire to electrify now unconscious Leo.

"Guys, Leo's in trouble!" Mikey yelled to them. Not like they're seeing it right now.

"Why can't family meeting end just well?" Y/n whinned to practically no one, her shoes/boots soaking wet from the snow that already managed to melt into it, doing nothing close to help.

Donnie passed her before jumping out, landing beside Leo and tearing the wire from his chest plate, but he remained unconscious.

Y/n giggled in awe when Donnie slid in front of one car, using his staff and rock to make the car fly in the air and land upside down, destroying itself. Cool. Donnie then slid his way back to Leo, grabbing onto him.

"I got you, brother! One car down, three to go!" From her spot Y/n caught them shooting at Donnie the same wire like at Leo, followed with painful grunt from the geek.

"Oh no. Mikey!" Mikey jumped from the roof and with Raph they destroyed the second car that electrified Donnie and it stopped as the car got destroyed. However, there are still two left that continue shooting at Y/n's brothers, and she can't but grit her teeth.

She doesn't really care if someone hurts her, but when somebody touches her loving ones, she's ready to draw blood.

Maybe she isn't fully in her form yet, still feeling a little lightheaded and weak, it didn't stop her from jumping from the truck at nearby tree with her long, strong chain wrapped around her arm, wrapping the end of chain around another tree across from her and the front wrapping around the tree she is on. She pulled, tightening it into firm line.

She saw one car rolling down, but that one wasn't with Karai. She's in the last yellow car. Y/n's brothers went under the chain but the car not and as it collided with the strained chain, the force sent it spin in air until it landed upside down against a tree.

Unwrapping the chain and around her arm, her feet landed in the snow while her eyes searched for way to get to them. A nice piece of wood imagined in her head as surfing board and she smirked, using it as one.

It took her less than few seconds to get used to it, laughing to herself when it appeared to be similar to skateboard, only a little more complicated. In mere seconds she found herself slidding along with her two brothers, doing everything to stay close to them and yet not trip over them or something in way.

"Guys! Where's Leo and Mikey?!" She called to both Raph and Donnie over the noise, almost losing balance at rock going under her feet. The two did double look, confusedly glancing at the truck.

"Weren't you in the truck a second ago?" Y/n looked between the truck and Raph, shrugging in process with goofy smile.

"Who do you think got rid of the last car?" But as she finished her sentence, the tip of her made up surfing board tripped over sticking rock that went unnoticed to her eyes, and if it wasn't for Raph quickly catching her and holding her form firmly on his plastron, she would be rolling snowball.

"Gotcha."

"Thanks." Seeing the situation, she tightened her grip on him. Farther down from them Leo held April and Vern close to him as the three of them neared the edge of cliff, Mikey trying to halt them by pulling at the wire attached to Leo.

"No!" Y/n's eye widen in horror when Mikey tripped, making him let go of the wire and the two humans with turtle mutant went over edge.

"Oh, no. Poor Leo, April...and that other guy. They were so young, so beautiful." Mikey whinned, hitting the snow with his fists. That was until Raph with his sister passed him.

"They ain't dead, numb nuts!"

"Oh. Right." The three walked over to the edge, seeing Leo holding himself and April with Vern only with his katana stuck in the gap between rocks, preventing them from the long fall down where the truck collapsed.

"Hey, guys! It's the maintenance hatch! Our ticket home!" Donnie pointed out, instead of helping the three looking past them down at the square hatch at the bottom of cliff.

"A little help here?" Raph and Mikey quickly helped to lift them up. Once everyone stood on their own feet, no one dangling off cliff, they looked wierdly but amused at Raph and Y/n.

"What?" The two of them asked in unison, until they realized Y/n is still clinging to Raph, arms around his neck and legs around torso as much as they reach. For a split second the sight reminded them of koala cuddling way bigger koala.

Before April had time to pull out her phone and take a picture, the two siblings pushed from each other, brushing themself like they were stained by something disgusting.

"Let's just go." They chuckled at the youngest pushing past everyone with chin lifted high, following soon after.

Once they got down and opened the lid, all of them jumped in with turtles holding the humans, hence only the brothers got shells to surf on. While Mikey enjoyed holding April, Raph grumply complained in his head for him having to be the one to hold Vern.

Meanwhile Y/n was enjoying this ride, carefreely holding her arms up with the wind blowing her hair back as she sat in her eldest brother's lap, having him both hold her and guide the way, much to his annoyance.

"Satellite imagery shows Shredder's reached the top of Sacks Tower." Informed them Donnie, the only one having no one to hold.

"If that's where he's releasing the toxin from..." Leo started and Donnie continued after him. "It's gonna spread all over the city!"

"We need to..." Raph was cut of when they went flying through air, water splashing them in faces like slap. "...break a left!"

"Weeeee!" Y/n cheered in joy, swaying them both to left and right, making it more fun only for her. Her brother, who rolled his eyes at her silliness, flicked the back of her head before hugging her to his chest in way she can't move, arms pressed to her sides. He smirked at her grumpy pout.

•∆•

They kicked the lid open so they can land at the lowest floor of Sacks Tower, turtles finally putting the three down.

"Alright, listen up. We gotta find the elevators and get up to the roof. You guys get out of here. Get to a safe distance." Leo commanded the three, if it wasn't for April wanting to be useful and cut him off.

"No, no, we can go find Sacks and get our hands on the Mutagen as a contingency plan. Just in case. You know." Y/n frowned down at the floor from her spot on April's right. The chase totally took her mind off Sacks and what he said and done to her, also again realizing how much in pain is her back, and the fact she has nothing to cover her bare shoulders with isn't much of help.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence." Admitted Raph.

"If we don't make it back, bring the Mutagen to Splinter. It can save his life." Leo turned around as well.

"Sacks's laboratory's on the 36th floor. I've already disabled the security system. Oh, and, uh..Good luck!" Donnie quickly spilled what they need to know, patting his sister's head with cute smile and following others. That left Mikey, who turned his attention to April.

"If I don't return, remember me, April. You can always find me...in here." Mikey pointed at April's chest where her heart beat. Y/n giggled at Raph grabbing him and dragging him with them. But as she watched them grow slowly farther, worry filled her.

"Guys!" Confused, they stopped to look at their sister, standing there while scowling nervously.

"Be careful." Reassuring smiles make onto their faces, taking mental note as a matter of course to come back to her and get their whole family back together once again.

With nod of head and thumbs up the turtle brothers of Y/n disappeared behind corner, leaving the mutant girl without wings to sigh, her shoulders slumping. April placed gentle hand on her shoulder.

"They'll be alright." The only Y/n did was nod, knowing her brothers are strong and will kick Shredder's ass, however worries about their safety never leaves her. In the end you can never guess what fate prepared for you.

"I know. Let's just go and get this done." The two adults agree and they began climbing the lot of stairs. When they reached the top, Y/n panted for air.

"I really do need training." They entered what seems to be laboratory. As they were to turn a corner, a shoot that missed them alerted them and automatically hid behind metal table. Y/n hissed quietly when her fresh cut back pressed against the cold metal, fighting tears that desperately wanted to spill out.

"Seriously, you three? You're adorable, really. I could just pinch your cheeks!" Vern peeked from over the table, in result getting Sacks to shoot their way twice, luckily missing. Trying something, Y/n peeked her hand and quickly back, Sacks of course shooting madly, and much to April's and Vern's confusion their younger friend giggled with snort.

That guys is scared and definitely not used to holding a gun, otherwise he wouldn't shoot anything that moves. He knows cutting her wings was a risky move if she survives. He knew she will come for him, to get revenge for the pain he caused her, and after telling her the truth that laid in his head, also for everything he has done to her.

"I understand a girl with dead daddy issues. I do, but you're not gonna stop me. This is history repeating itself. Your father walked in on me, April, just like you did. And L/ns once again witnessing it. It took a few less bullets to take him down, though."

Horror crossed the two girls' faces, putting two and two together. Y/n's mother was there when April's father found out about Sacks's real plans, and he must've took her hostage after killing April's father. This man is fucking monster.

"You killed my father." Hand grasped April's tightly, letting the woman know that her friend is there with her and for her, and she will make the man pay. Y/n gestured with her chin to Vern to go the other side and distract Sacks, leaving the rest for her to finish.

"Stay here." She whispered quietly to April, waiting for Vern's signal. Across from them, a glass reflected Sacks approaching their hiding spot and Y/n prepared herself. They see Sacks raise his gun at them, until a voice interrupt through the air.

"Y/n!" She took the moment of distraction and sprung onto her feet, using her chain to knock the gun out of Sacks's hands. Taking him by surprise, her fist collided with his cheek before kicking him in chest, which sent him flying back into wall.

Tiles broke from the force, falling onto his head and shoulders. In any other situation she would laugh, yet now her mind is blinded by fury.

Sacks had no time to do anything when he lifted his gaze tiredly, foot on his chest holding him in place against the wall in almost painful way. And when he meet the furious e/c eyes of the mutant girl, he realized he's done.

"I should strangle you now, for everything you did to me, to April, her father, my family, and my mother." Her fingers wrapped around his thick throat, squeezing his wind pipe enough to complicate his breathing. "But, death would be only a service."

She grew closer, her breath tickling his ear in dangerous way it sent chills down his spine.

"Rot in Hell, prick." With that she slammed the back of his head against the wall, hard, knocking him out into unconsciousness. She watched as his body collapsed fully on the ground, a position police will find him in when they get here.

It's like all the anger was suddenly pushed aside and her true vision came back. Remembering where she is and what's going on, she turned to April and Vern standing there without word, witnessing the whole scene. None of them, no, no one EVER saw her in these colors, and made mental note to not piss her off.

"Make sure police will get him. I gotta go." Without another word she grabbed the tube with Mutagen and made her way to rooftop, sparring no glance at the glass showcase. But April and Vern did notice it, their eyes widening.

As Y/n made her way on top, the anger came back, not only at Sacks but also Shredder when a flash of him stabbing her father flashed before her eyes.

What made her thin line to snap is the sight of Shredder punching her oldest brother stomach, who is helpless at the moment, due to him and others attempting to hold up the tower filled with poision that Sacks and Shredder wanted to spread into the New York air.

"Shredder!" Her voice pierced through their ears, grabbing their attention. Seeing Shredder's gaze on her, she held the tube in the air, waving it mockingly. "See This?! This is all that's left, bitch!"

"Stupid little girl." Shreder jumped from his spot, landing few meters from the edge where Y/n stands. "That belongs to me."

She turned her frown into glare. The tower groaned and her eyes widen at the angle. Shredder took the moment of her distracted and ran at her, knocking them both over the railing as the tube was stolen from her grip.

"Y/N!" Her brothers calling her name went unnoticed by her ears, too occupied grabbing onto metal pole of the tower and holding herself up. Everything would be easier if she had her beautiful wings. She wouldn't be so afraid of letting go.

She gulped when Shredder pulled out a knife and threw it at her hands. The burning pain that went through her fingers forced her to let go, a bloody scream leaving her throat.

"NO!" Thankfully her brothers came in time and jumped after her.

"Got ya!" Raph wrapped his big three-fingered hand around hers as Leo grabbed his ankle, Donnie holding Leo while holding onto Mikey, who held them all up by the tower.

"Hold on! Hold on! Y/n!" Leo yelled, fixing his grip on Raph's ankle.

"What do you think I'm doing?!" She shoot back. Shredder threw one of his knives at Mikey, who dodged with his nunchucks back at Shredder. It burried in his shoulder, weakening one his arm so he had to hold with both now. An idea popped in Y/n's head.

"Swing me towards him!" Raph looked at her as if she's mad. And maybe she is.

"Do it!" Having no other choice, Raph did exactly what she told him to. Leo threw one of his katanas at Shredder, giving Y/n free room to kick him in the face when they swung her close enough. The impact made Shredder let go and they only watched as his form grew smaller and smaller, until it disappeared in cloud of smoke that created his metal body hitting the ground.

"Finally." She breathed out, satisfied they finished the two pricks and can calmly go home now. Or so she thought.

They lifted each other and her on the tower howering in the air. When the tower groaned, it evoked bad feeling in all of them. The tower jerked, filling them with panic and getting them to hold on tighter. But when it jerked again, harder, Y/n's hands lost their grip and she slipped.

"NO!"

"Y/N!"

Everything turned to slowmo. The fear that was held in her e/c eyes disappeared as she felt herself distancing from her brothers, sadness and peace covering her like blanket, much to the wind hitting her stinging back and flipping her hair annoyingly.

She feel disappointed in herself for not looking for her brothers and father sooner when this whole time they were actually under their feet, and now when they finally reunited they won't be able to catch up with everything.

But she's glad they defeated Shredder and Sacks. It brought her satisfaction, knowing neither of them will terrorize anyone again and New York, along with everyone else, is safe from them. She couldn't be at more peace than she is now.

All of sudden, pain went through her back. But this pain is different. It feels like growing bones, and when it calmed down a little, she again feel complete. And then the realization hit her.

Turning to face down, she attempted flapping her wings and catch air, but to her unfortune she's falling too fast for her to gain balance. So she grasped onto the only option that's left for her, wrapping her beautiful, big black wings around her form. Now she can only pray she survives this.

Grunt escaped her when she collided with ground, the impact creating a cloud of smoke around her like with Shredder. Before her mind drifted to unconsciousness, she heard something heaving land farther from her.

And then: darkness.

Chapter Text

~∆~

Dirty smoke surrounded the piece of tower, hiding the four turtles from human eyes. Much to their surprise, they survived the fall without injuries, only shaken up a little.

"Are you crying?" Donnie asked after the speech Raph spilled when they thought these were their last minutes living.

"No Ding-Dong. It's just a little dusty out here." The tough turtle turned his gaze away, preventing his brothers from seeing he actually does have tears at the corners of his eyes. But as he looked elsewhere, something caught his attention.

"Y/n!" Eyes widened to size of plates, he ran towards the black wings, a thought how come she has her wings back crossing his mind for split second. His brothers followed and they crouched down around the form, Donnie carefully moving one wing aside to show their passed out sister. She looks at peace, but then they remember the pain she went through.

"Oh no."

"Is she-?"

"No. She's still alive, only passed out." Donnie checked her pulse, feeling her heart beating and his answer made everyone let out a breath in relief, glad their sister that has only just returned to them won't be leaving them again.

•∆•

"Okay, the Mutagen is now entering bloodstream." Standing around their father, Donnie informed about the process of saving their rat father.

"Master Splinter."

"Nothing's happening." Raph grumpled, letting a little of his worries to be visible on his features.

"Why isn't it working yet?" Splinter started slowly opening his eyes, still weak to open them fully.

"Mikey. Mikey, come closer." Splinter whispered something to Mikey's ear when Mikey leaned to Splinter.

"What did he say? What did he say?" Eagerly Leo asked their second youngest, curious what their father said.

"He said 'Please get your knee off my chest'." Smile crossed all of their lips, relief washing them like hot shower. If they came any later, there might be chance Splinter wouldn't make it out.

"Sensei."

"You're alive!"

"It worked!"

"I'm sorry. This was all my fault." Others nodded, feeling the same guilt like their eldest.

"You were right. We weren't ready."

"No. It was I who wasn't ready to let you go. All you needed was to discover that your true power lies in believing in one another. I was also afraid of making the same mistake by letting you go, in the fear of losing another of my children. But when Y/n returned, I realized just like her, you are strong and responsible enough to take care."

Splinter scanned his children faces, however, when a face of his youngest child, his only daughter is nowhere to be seen, concern fills him.

"My sons, where's my daughter?" It only like now clicked in their heads that their sister lays in Donnie's laboratory like room. They helped their father onto his feet and to the lab, surrounding the unconscious body covered with giant, black wings either like shield or blanket.

"What happened?" Their father urged, needing to know in what condition his daughter is as the wing was moved, uncovering the paceful face of Y/n.

"Sacks cut her wings."

"And after we defeated Shredder, she fell off the tower." Leo and Raph began the short explanation and Donnie finished.

"How she got her wings back is what we don't know, but she used them to protect herself from instant death. Luckily she made it out with only broken wrist, bruises and few scratches, but she will be alright. The rest of Mutagen should be enough." He swirled the little of Mutagen in tube and got to work, running back and forth in his half destroyed lab, using everything that isn't broked or shattered.

Sighing, Splinter feel his shoulders relax, trusting his smart son to take good care of their beloved sister. He placed palm on his daughter's forehead, wishing no complications will follow and their family can be as one again.

They left Donnie be, giving him free room to work while they went to clean their home from Shredder's and Foot Clan's attack.

•∆•

Hours passed, the brothers with their father still having full hands. This time Donnie has joined them after getting Mutagen into Y/n's system, cleaning her wounds, bandaging her broken wrist into cast and checking for anything else that could have be done to her between everything.

Unbeknownst to them, a groan sounded in the lab room, followed with curses. E/c eyes flutter open, looking around her surroundings once her eyes adjusted and opened enough to see.

Finding this place unfamiliar, in panic Y/n sprung into sitting position, hissing in pain when she pressed on her bandaged wrist in cast. Confusion filled her, also fear Sacks has gotten away from police and took her back, ready to torture her with experiments she hated every day.

Hurriedly she got off the table by falling, due to her weak legs giving under her weight. But the fear pushed her forward, quickly scrambling up and running towards the only entrance that seems to be here, in the process knocking over some things with her wings on accident.

Right as she was about to walk out the room, someone else walked in, causing her to slam into their hard chest. Before she could fall flat on her butt, big hands grabbed her.

"Y/n?" She looked up, meeting very well known eyes of her brother. Breathing out, she visibly relaxed and threw her arms around his neck.

"It's only you. It's only you." By the tone of her shaky voice and her strong grip only tightening around Donnie's neck, he assume she got spooked by something. With one hand he held her up while using the other to rub her back, avoiding making contact with her wings, in case she's still sensitive about the area.

"Shh, shh. It's okay. You're safe now." Slowly but surely she calmed down and he placed her back on the table.

"I thought Sacks got me again." Donnie pressed his lips in line, with sympathy rubbing his sister's shoulders in comfort.

"Don't worry about that. Police arrested both him and Shredder. They won't hurt you again." The only Y/n managed to do is nod her head, not really feeling like talking. He got her water to drink before calling for others and checking her vitals. And soon others walked in, Splinter being the first one to walk in and to his daughter.

"My child." Seeing her father almost healthy and on feet erupted tears of joy into the corners of her eyes, one even spilling over.

"Dad!" The next thing she know she's enveloped into embrance of her father, something she missed for many years. "Your alive."

"Of course I am, dear child. And I'm glad to see all of my children under one roof." Pulling away, he moved off the way to show her other brothers in the entrance. Smiles crawled onto their faces once their eyes landed on their sister.

"She's alive!" And like first time when she came back, Mikey threw his arms around her, lifting her off the table to spin them around. And also hitting everyone in faces with her wings.

"Hey. Hey! Guys! Knock it off! You're doing mess." Both the youngest giggled, Y/n moving her wings to wrap around Mikey instead.

"There was already mess, Don." The geek threw glare his sister's way.

"Don't you start." Giggling, Y/n felt two more pairs of arms around them, and she grinned at Raph and Leo. She don't remember a time when they would share group hug, at least one included with Raph, but she's more than happy to share one, having her family with her once again.

•∆•

"There she is. New York's secret weapon." Bike by her side, April walked up towards smiling Vern.

"Did you get a new car?" Even from afar she noticed the new vehicle Vern's leaning against.

"Yeah. You're looking at the new Fenwick Express. Pretty sweet, huh? Kind of an upgrade. I figured I'd need new wheels after my old work vehicle went boom. Yeah, Channel 6 gave it to me. They said don't put a scratch on it, but, like, lightning's going to strike twice?"

Despite being slightly annoyed for having to come all the way here only because of stupid car, April laughed. "So, is that why you called me here, to talk about your new car?"

"I know that you're not exactly a fancy restaurant kind of girl, so I figured a creepy underpass in an abandoned neighborhood in the middle of the night was more your speed. I wanted you to be comfortable." But then something behind Vern caught April's attention and he followed her gaze when he noticed she's ignoring him.

A green van stopped some distance away from them, Mikey poking out from the side of van while Leo sat in passenger seat with Donnie next to him, Raph most probably in the back.

"DJ Mikey in the house!" They all smiled at April, and she returned toothy one, jogging towards them.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"We figured we owed you a thanks for keeping our secret." Leo said and April looked inside, seeing Raph sitting there behind Mikey.

"You had a lot to gain from telling people about us, but you had our back."

"Yeah, because that's what family's for, Raph." April grinned at the tough turtle wearing red bandana. A comment would be long thrown through air from how much April know her best friend, yet she seem to fail at spotting her anywhere around.

"Wait. Where's Y/n?" Upon hearing the mention of their sister, most of the brothers rolled their eyes or shook head.

"Did you know she's one hell of stubborn girl?" Even though she threw confused look at Leo, April, however, does know Y/n can be good pain in the ass when she wants to be.

It was then when the sound of wings flapping through air interrupt, their gaze turning to left. It was hard to spot but once the figure grew closer, April picked up on the features and wings of her dear best friend.

April's face cringed when Y/n landed clumsily on the ground just in front of the van, her knees having given up under the weight of both her body and wings from not being able to do much past this week, hence her brothers didn't let her.

"Oh gosh. Y/n!" Worried, April hurried to her younger friend to help, much to Y/n grinning out of happiness seeing April is great and healthy, no injuries. Unlike her. Helping her back on shaky legs, the woman enveloped the girl in crushing hug.

"Your arm." April did knew what happened at the tower when Y/n ran off, Donnie managing to heck into her pc again and communicate with her easily. Y/n looked at her hand in cast, shrugging unbothered.

"It's fine."

"God. And are you alright? You look pale." Pressing the back of her hand against Y/n's forehead, it switched to rest on her cheek. There are dark circles under her e/c eyes, h/c hair messy from the wind when she flew her way to here and that unstoppable grin on her lips makes her look like pacient that escaped sanitarium. "When was the last time you slept?"

"Ehm? Monday? Tuesday, I guess?" April blinked at her, dumbfounded. It's friday.

"She's been having nightmares lately and refuse to blink an eye." Explained further Donnie, the one that's been checking Y/n over and making sure she's healing up and not doing something that would do more harm than use. April looked at the youngest with 'that' look.

"Y/n, you need to sleep." On instant, Y/n shook her head in protest, ignoring her heavy eyelids wanting to fall.

"I can't. He's haunting me even in sleep." It wasn't hard to guess who exactly Y/n means, the man being like Devil himself in her eyes: cruel and evil. Even though he's in jail along with Shredder, she's still jumpy because of it.

"I know it's hard, but you can't keep awake forever." Y/n still shook her head stubbornly.

"We tried telling her that, but she stands for herself." Leo brought up, his head sticked out the window to have better look at them.

"In the first place she shouldn't be even flying, seeing the contition she's in." Added Donnie, giving his sister look at which the smile she held on her face disappeared, huffing annoyed instead and sticking her tongue at them.

"Yeah! She just won't listen." The other three nodded in agreement with Mikey, a thing that's been crawling at their minds. Smiling amused, April draped an arm around Y/n's shoulders, however, keeping her gaze on turtles.

"You got a lot of catching up, guys." The guys groaned, getting the hint there's more than meets the eye and they either will be okay with it, or annoyed.

"So, you guys are driving now?" After a long time being quiet and inspecting everything around, Vern finally spoke.

"Yeah, man. I pimped this bad boy out. Got a 42-inch plasme with the NBA package, shave ice machine, 7.1 digital rsurround sound." Donnie counted on his fingers what everything he created in the van, proud of his work.

"Check the bass, bra." Mikey pushed wrong button which pulled out a bomb, everyone's eyes widening when it went exactly at Vern's car, flipping it over into flames. The place laid in silence, except for the youngest that cackled from laughter.

"My bad. I'm still figuring out the buttons." Apologized Mikey, sirens not long later calling from distance, most probably seeing the fire here.

"That was my new Fenwick Express! I just...I just got that." Vern held his chest, like he were stabbed right now. It did feel like that for him.

"We better get out of here. Want a ride home?" April touched Vern's shoulder and with unsure smile assured the brothers.

"You know what? I think we're gonna take the subway. We're going to take the subway." She declared. She's not gonna say out loud she don't give slighest shit about the car, but still feel sorry for Vern.

"You sure? I got a real nice song that's all cued up. It's special, girl. For us." Mikey pointed at himself and April. Raph, Donnie and Leo groan in annoyance, telling him not to do it. Y/n, being the crazy sister of theirs, did the opposite.

"Do it, Mikey!" She cheered for Mikey, who grinned at her.

"No!"
"Shut up!"
"Don't encourage him!"
"Mikey don't!" The three protested, at one point feeling embarrassed of their brother wanting to do such a thing in front of their friend.

"~Imagine me and you. I do. I think about you day and night. It's only right. To think about..." Mikey began to sing, only to get pulled inside while Leo quickly shot from his place to snatch his sister.

"No! I wanna fly!" Despite her protest, he overpowered her easily and pulled her inside (her wings hidden as tattoo), right as Donnie started the van and began driving away.

Mikey dragged Y/n from their brother to his side, grinning.

"Ready?" Once she got the hint, she nodded her head. On three, the back door slammed open with the two sticking out and singing to April heartly, Raph holding them from falling out.

"~I can't see me loving nobody but you

For all my life

When you're with me, baby

The skies'll be blue

For all my life!~"
