Touch of Blue

Summary:

Crowley ponders on his feelings for Aziraphale.

Notes:

A poem written for Whickber Street Writers Five Words Friday. I chose to incorporate the GOetry Monday Challenge to give me a bit more of an idea where to head with this. So this is a Villanelle written to the prompt 'temptation' and incorporating all five of the words of the Five Words Friday challenge. The words were: whimsical, thrive, dulcet, elicit, nevermind

Work Text:

Ever-longing I follow you
In dulcet tones you’re calling me
I thrive on that touch of blue

The only thing that’s true
You are my apple tree
Ever-longing I follow you

Every whimsical wish I see through
Your smile I wish to set free
I thrive on that touch of blue

Myriad delights in your line of view
But my own desire is all I see
Ever-longing I follow you

Nevermind the pleas I would elicit for you
The shame too great even to bury
I thrive on that touch of blue

Constant companion, the cutting rue
Guilt I take from you to carry
Ever-longing I follow you
I thrive on that touch of blue
