Work Text:

The sun was setting as Hellhound sat on a roof, knees pulled to his chest as he looked down at the buzzing streets. He didn't know why the city was so active at night, and he hated it. The sound of horns honking, yelling in the streets from teens on the way to get drunk at some party; a party he could have gone to if he had been anyone else. The fifteen year old boy's head whipped around as the sound of someone landing lightly on the roof behind him sounded.

He didn't even know how he picked up on the sound over the busy life below in the street. “Beast.” The voice changer in Hellhounds mask made his voice gruffer then it was, but his tone was as cold as always. “What’s a hero doing here?”

The male shrugged, his white fluffy hair bouncing slightly on his head as he sat down on the edge of the building with the villain, holding up a large bag of Mcdonalds. “It's time for my dinner break,” he explained, pulling the bottom part of his mask down. Beast had a two part mask, one to cover his eyes and one to cover his mouth. Hellhound found it stupid but in this kind of situation it's probably considered smart. “Thought you’d be hungry.”

“Cant.” He responded quickly, glancing over to see the hero's lips as he shoved a fry into his mouth. “It will reveal my identity.” That’s one reason, the other was because of the smoke which was drifting up here from down in one of the alleyways below, which could affect his lungs and he didn't want Sorrow to mother hen him for the third time that week.

The hero scoffed and rolled his eyes. “I wont look, plus I heard your stomach.” He said simply, his golden-purple eyes locking onto the silver ones which belonged to Hellhound.

His face went bright red. “When did you hear that!?” Hellhound's voice changer didnt help to hide how high pitched his voice went out of embarrassment. “You just got here!”

“Actually I was here ten minutes ago and I left to get food and then came back because of your grumbling stomach.” The hero explained, lifting up the bottom of the villain's mask just enough to force a fry into his mouth, fingers brushing against his lips. “Eat.”

The villain froze, his brain malfunctioning as he tried to process the feeling of fingers on his lips and the salty taste of the potato in his mouth. The hero's lips were twisted in a smirk as he watched Hellhound's face twist with confusion and then turn into flustered shyness. Hellhound turned away, pulling his mask back down. “Don't do that..” His voice isn't cold anymore.

Beast rolled his eyes and reached over, wrapping his arms around his waist, pulling the hound against his chest. “Why? Do you not like being fed by your favourite hero?” The white haired male cooed into his ear. “Would it be better if I fed you like this? That way I can see your face?”

Hellhound flushed more, however he made no move to get out of the tiger's arms. “You really are a beast…” He grumbled. “Fine.”

The hero smiled and reached around, carefully pulling the other male's mask down and hand feeding him fries. The mask removal revealed the face of a fifteen year old boy to the world– not that the world was watching– his silver eyes shined in the fading light as he was fed by the slightly older hero behind him.

“Your bangs were cut horribly, can I offer you a different place?” The hero's voice sounded, making Ryuunosuke hold back a laugh.

“It's a wig.” He said after making his voice sound gruffer just to make sure his identity couldn’t be exposed. “Blame Sorrow he cut it.”

Beast laughed. “Sorrow cut that? I feel bad for Mara, Shadow and Q then.” He shook his head, gently sliding a nugget between the villains lips. “So, how’d you get the name Hellhound?”

Ryuunosuke rolled his eyes, taking a bite and chewing for a bit so he could find the right words for the answer. Did he explain how it happened from the beginning or just when the news picked it up? “How long of a story do you want?” He asked after swallowing.

“As long as you wanna tell.” Beast said simply, resting his chin atop Hellhound's head, sliding the nugget back into Ryuunosuke's mouth to make sure he kept eating during this conversation. The villain wasn't complaining, he was liking this kind of gentle care, it made his heart flutter and cheeks heat up in a good way.

So this is what Sorrow was feeling around Dazai .

Ryuunosuke kept chewing the nuggets before swallowing, because Sorrow raised a young man with manors; one of those being ‘dont talk with food or drink in your mouth.’ He then spoke. “I was living on the streets with my younger sister about five years ago…” He explained, eyes widening slightly when he felt the arms around his waist tighten slightly.

Okay, so Beast has a hugging issue.

“Sorrow found us after I had been beaten by some adults who wanted money; he patched me up and started to come around every day with clothes, blankets and home cooked meals. When those men came back…” Ryuunosuke paused, not sure if he should tell the hero that a well known villain killed three adult men for two random orphans. “He scared them off and took us home with him. Went through the legal adoption process and we became his kids.”

Beast tightened his hold around the shorter male. “I see, I’m guessing your sister is either Shadow, Mara or Q?”

Hellhound laughed. “Shadow is my sister in that story, since it's been five years Sorrow adopted two other kids, Mara who's the baby of the family and Q is the second youngest.”

Beast hummed thoughtfully. “I offer my condolences, living with three sisters must be hard.”

The villain scoffed. “Q is a genderless demon who refuses to be acknowledged as female or male so I am tormented by two sisters, not three.” He rolled his eyes while correcting the hero, which caused him to laugh.

The laughter died as a voice sounded from behind them.

“Beast.”

Shitshitshitshitshitttttt!
It's Void!

Hellhound struggled to get his mask back on his face, hands trembling. Beast just sat up straight, keeping his eyes on his team leader and pulling Hellhound's face into his chest so the villain's face couldn't be seen. “Yes, Void?”

“Your shift ended two hours ago, why are you out here?” Void glanced at the male forced to hide in his subordinates chest and rolled his eyes. “Really? A date with Hellhound?”

“It's not a date!” Beast shot back, cheeks flushing.

“Is that so? Then why are you up here, cuddling and feeding him?” Void huffed then addressed Hellhound. “Is he keeping you here as a hostage?”

“N-no!” Hellhound choked out, too flushed to actually pay attention to the conversation.

“Void. What is it?” Beast repeated sternly.

“Your new mask is finished, come on.” Void shrugged and turned his back.

Beast sighed and covered the villain's eyes as he lifted the male head of his chest, slowly the hero connected their lips in a soft, kind kiss which seemed to last forever but really lasted for only three seconds. As Beast pulled away he pulled Hellhounds mask back on the male and left.

Beast and Void left the stunned, flustered Hellhound in the room alone with food.

*****

“Ryuu?” Sorrow's voice echoed in his ears, Ryuunosuke had finished the food by now and was just staring off into space, trying not to malfunction again. “Ryuunosuke?” The voice came again and Sorrow's signature hat with the veil and red gems came into view. However Ryuunosuke did not respond.

Sighing, Sorrow cleared his throat. “Nakahara Ryuunosuke.”

That snapped his attention to Sorrow, otherwise known as Nakahara Chuuya. “Beast kissed me…” The words left his mouth before he could stop them and his face went red all over again, Ryuunosuke had no idea why but telling his father made him get all flustered again, he was behaving like a schoolgirl who had just been kissed by her crush and he hated it.

Chuuya smiled softly and carefully helped him up. “Wanna tell me about it over ice cream? Miyo’s worried.”

His heart stopped. That's right, he had just vanished after Miyo and him had a stupid fight over who would be the princess in the game she wanted to play. It was so stupid of him to run away from a fight with a five year old, after all it was just a game. He sighed. “Sure… but after I play with Miyo.”

Chuuya nodded. “Alright.”
