The Tainted Void

Summary:

Nakahara Chuuya is a father to four children (all between the ages of four and sixteen), one of his children Nakahara Ryuunosuke joins Chuuya in a villian duo known as the ‘Tainted hounds’.

One day there's a news alert about a Villain known as flame who's forcefully taken three children out of school and holding them captive shows up on all devices. Instead of the news anchor asking the hero committee to send a hero to save the kids, they ask for a hero to take the kids to safety while three Villains battle it out.

The hero committee is forced to send their best out.

This is a rewrite of an old work on a different account which is from a different fandom (I will have it linked)

Notes:

This work is a rewrite on an older fic of mine from a different account which is here It was originally a DNF story however since I am no longer comfortable in that fandom I turned the plot into a BSD SKK fic instead. However I am leaving the og story up.
There will be updates announced for this book as well as random info drops, post and glimpses at Chapters on my tumblr page as well which will be linked here for any one who wants to stay connected with this story/au.

Chapter Text

Dazai sighed as he sat at his desk in the hero tower, a frown on his lips as he filled out a report on his latest attempt, in the river this time. He looked up through his lashes, checking the time. It was 10 am, he wasn't allowed to clock out of work until 5pm; which means he’d miss Chuuya’s open hours. Again.

Dazai huffed with a pout as he slowly stood up from his seat. He'd take a quick break from his report to make himself something to eat and drink (and maybe watch Tv). The brunette man with fluffy brown hair (which looked like it had been styled by a professional that morning- but it was really just his bed hair) walked into the floor's kitchen and grumbled under his breath about everything being moved as he looked through the cabinets.

Each floor in the hero tower had a different use or a different team living on it. As such it's one of the largest buildings in the city with a total of ninety floors above and below ground. The floors below ground are reserved for training with their powers, since it can be dangerous and no one wants any civilians to get hurt during it.

On the ground floor in the lobby, some bathrooms and two offices. That is where people go to complain about heroes who aren't doing their job ‘properly’ or ‘good enough’. It's mostly just the rich marching in with a bag of money, tossing it at the front desk person and demanding a certain hero group go to their neighbourhood instead of one of the poorer ones. However, throwing over one thousand dollars at the front desk person won't make it happen because they’d have to call that hero and ask if that hero wants to do it. While of course some heroes feel like they have to and do say yes, only going for an hour or so, if that hero says no then they’ve then spent one thousand dollars on nothing!

The floor above the lobby is where all the technical department is, so it’s all computers up there. Social media, clips of fights and new articles go to them and they add it to the hero tower socials page if it's deemed acceptable, which isn't very often. They also handle sending mass emails and text messages to everyone in the city when a fight is happening, warning them to stay away from that area and any place within a five minute car ride there.

Above that floor is the cafeteria and kitchen for all non-hero staff, there's also a staff room, a smoke room, and more bathrooms. There are four rooms with bunk beds in them; for employees who have two shifts an hour apart or have nowhere to go home to at the end of the day. On the fifth floor there is the armoury, where hero costumes and weapons are made, there are five staff members who live on that floor as it is more convenient (they have their own rooms on the floor as well).

Each floor above that has two apartments on them for hero groups, which are formed when heroes get out of training. Those floors hold up to eight heroes (four in each apartment). However on the last few three floors the apartment takes up the whole floor; as they are the top three hero groups in the whole city.

Dazai huffed as he looked around for the coffee, but they were out again. “Yosano!” He yelled, then rubbed his throat. That's right, he's the only one on shift today. Kunikida was volunteering down at the school, Atsushi was at school and Yosano was on a date with some woman known as Kouyou. The hero known as Void, due to his nullification power, walked back over to his desk and sent an email to one of the front desk people. He knew there were always four working at a time. The email was short and sweet; ‘Can we have coffee sent up to Void's floor?’

Dazai, of course, liked calling it his floor because he pretty much lived there, so it was normal to him. He turned away from his computer after ignoring the report he had written a million times and still had to rewrite and flopped onto the couch. Dazai turned on the tv with a pout on his lips as he looked through the channels; the tower didn't even have any movie channels- it was really just news channels.

An upset sound that resembled a sigh left Dazai Osamu's mouth for the third time that day and his shift had only started an hour ago. “This is going to be a long day…” He grumbled as he gave up on looking through the news channels and just stared up at the ceiling, letting the news lady's voice fill the room. It was better than sitting in silence.

“Breaking news!” The woman said loudly, eyes fixed on the screen, however he could tell by the slight tremble in her voice that it was a high pressure situation. “The Villain Flame has kidnapped three children, two which appear to be between five and ten and the other appears to be around sixteen.” Dazai's head tilted up as he looked at the TV, eyes locked on the small video clip behind the woman. He knew those kids.

Nakahara Miyo, five years old, Nakahara Kyūsaku, thirteen years old and Nakahara Gin, fourteen years old. Those were three of Chuuyas' kids. Kids who Chuuya would give his life for. Dazai’s heart dropped. He couldn't let them get hurt. The speakers on the roof suddenly echoed around the room. “Void please report to Crimson road, Flame has appeared,” was announced and then repeated for the whole time Dazai was rushing to get dressed in his hero costume.

Dazai glanced over, looking in the mirror as he hurried. The bandages which were around his mouth, neck, arms and legs were tight to keep them from falling off mid fight. His white button up shirt had lost a button last time he had worn it and he hasn't bothered to get it fixed yet, so it was a bit open at the top. His black dress pants were made with bullet and fireproof materials, like everything else on his body. His tan trench coat had blue gems sewn into it in a few places as a way for people to know it was him. Hidden on the inside of his trench coat Dazai had attached a small red heart-shaped gem which had a dragon carved into it, he'd found it awhile ago and it reminded him of someone. “Lets hope I can make it back before the trainee shows up...” He grumbled under his breath and hurried out of his room, hearing the lady on the television talking again.

“The Tainted hounds have shown up on scene, we need someone to get the kids to safety before a war breaks out,” The woman's slightly shaky voice echoed through the apartment and the studio.

What the hell is Sorrow and Hellhound doing on scene?!

Void arrives on the roof of a four story apartment building, watching as Sorrow throws a chunk of concrete at Flame while Hellhound is sneaking around to take the kids somewhere safe and using his power to block any attacks that might accidently hit them. These were two of the most wanted villains in the county and they show up after a week of absence to save Chuuya’s kids?!

Did they owe Chuuya or something?
