Chapter Text
“Come on Kieran! Terastallize Terapagos! That will no doubt unleash its full potential!” Briar was simultaneously energetically encouraging Kieran and rapidly taking notes on what was going on.
Kieran took his Tera Orb out of his yellow bag and stared at it for a moment. Quickly, he took aim, and threw it at Terapagos. Once Terapagos reached its full potential, maybe, just maybe, that would be the key to finally defeating Florian. Kieran jolted his head up to watch as glimmering Tera Crystals grew into a rounded pedestal and slowly encased the fluffy blue turtle, climbing up until the transformation finished with a Tera Jewel in Terapagos’s image.
Briar was practically jumping for joy at the sight of the Terastallized Terapagos. “Yes!! Now try commanding it in this form!”
But before Kieran could plan what order to give to Terapagos, he saw that it was already charging energy for an attack on its own. What was it trying to do? Kieran hardly noticed, but his breathing began to quicken and his arms began to quiver. Terapagos readied a ball of Terastal energy and crystals, aiming to fire it at Kieran.
”OH NO,” Carmine yelled. “Florian, do something!!”
Florian began rapidly shuffling through his backpack. “Potions, no, Earthquake TM, no… Miraidon! There!” Once he had found Miraidon’s Pokéball, he sent out Miraidon. Miraidon began to attempt to change into its battle form, but, for some strange reason, it was taking longer than expected.
Kieran was hardly paying attention to what was going on. His eyes were wide, and his panic drowned out almost anything going on. In the background, he thought he heard something about Florian trying to save him. Knowing Florian, he’d probably succeed. Florian could do anything if he tried. He was perfect…
Kieran’s wandering thoughts were interrupted by a bright blast of energy. He looked up at the source of the light. Terapagos was firing the attack at him. His eyes widened as he realized what would happen in just a few moments.
He was going to die.
Thoughts flew through his head as the realization embedded in his mind.
He was going to die weak… and he was going to die worthless.
The flood of thoughts was cut off as Terapagos’s attack hit Kieran.
