It had been cold that night. Cold like tonight. That was worth noting because I had experienced cold before, all kinds of it in fact. There was the stabbing kind; like icicles being thrust into my skin. There was the cloying kind; like mercury being poured down my throat. There was even a warm kind, believe it or not. It was like a blanket, lulling me into sleep. All to say, I knew cold. So the fact it was sticking out to me, both that night and this, meant something was up. She doesn't mind Arven though. Though he wasn't her first 'friend' in this new region, maybe he'll end up being the one she likes the best. Maybe, he'll be just the friend she needs to turn her life around.
