Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

A scientist and his assistant were working as usual, until suddenly: "AHA! I GOT IT!" The scientist jumped up and down happily, signaling to his assistant to come closer to him. "What is it, sir?" The clearly annoyed girl walked up to him. "I HAVE FINISHED MY NEW INVENTION! AFTER LOOOONG LAST! LET'S PARTY!" The scientist shouted, while dragging his assistant away to the living room of the scientist's house, afterwards, popping a bottle of liquor and pouring both of them a glass. The invention in question, was a humanoid robot. A robot with an ai resembling a human conciousness, and able to think like a human. He and his assistant have been working on this robot for two years now and they are glad that it's finally over. "What is that robot for, sir?" The assistant asked him, while getting herself her second glass. "Actually, I haven't really decided on a concete purpose for it yet but, I'm sure we'll work something out!" The scientist happily confessed.

Do not trust two drunk adults on their own, otherwise accidents happen.

One such accident is named Juliet.

The scientist looked at the baby in his assistant's arms and said: "I have finally found a purpose for Mr Robot over here!" The scientist jumped for joy. "He can be a babysitter for our little Juliet here!" And somehow the assistant agreed. Life was doing fine, until one day an experiment exploded. And it drove the scientist insane, and he stabbed himself. With his assistant watching. She then took Juliet and discarded of the robot.

Chapter Text

It was a normal night, for the PJ masks, atleast. Standing victoriously on the balcony of the Flying Factory, having just defeated the 'Terrible Trio' as they call themselves as. "I'LL GET YOY NEXT TIME, PJ PESTS!!" They screamed at possibly the top of their lungs as the heroes did their signature chant, while trying not to giggle. "PJ masks all shout hooray! Cause in the night, we saved the day!" While jumping up into their positions, then landing and giggling to themselves while enjoying the fresh air on the balcony of the Flying Factory. Romeo looked at them and felt something. A fuzzy feeling, a feeling that he yearned for, for so long.

The feeling of friendship.

The way those PJ's cherished their friendship and worked together reminded him of his friendship with the rest of the Terrible Trio. Atleast WHEN they get along. Most of the time, they are arguing, and bickering over silly and serious things. Always leaving him in the dark most of the time, ignoring his attempts to break up the fight, saying that he doesnt need to mind their business. But, they are his friends. He should be included too. He understands that it is for his own good but, we just can't shake the feeling that-

They are leaving him behind on purpose.

They are not taking him seriously at all.

And it hurt. A lot.

Meanwhile, a certain two villains were bickering again. "HEY, THAT WAS MY LINE YOU STUPID NINJA!" Luna screched into the ninjas ear as loud as possible. "THAT LINE WAS MINE! I ALWAYS SAY IT AT THE END OF THE FIGHT!" The ninja fought back, trying to hit Luna as they bickered back and forth. Romeo has witnessed them fighting way too many times and has finally had enough. He walked up to them and stood in between them. "Guys, please. The Pj's already defeated us. There's no need to be fighting like this over something so silly. There's always next time. And besides your sidekicks are waiting, anyway." He said while pointing to the ninjalinos and moths waiting for them on the land below. "HE/SHE STARTED IT!" They both pointed and glared at each other. "And besides-" Night Ninja then pointed at Romeo. "Stay out of this, stupid little inventor boy. Stop meddling and sticking your nose in others business, especially if we graciously decided you out of it!" Romeo stumbled back, clearly stunned and amused, but he wasn't supposed to feel this hurt. He was the victim of their scolding multiple times before, and everytime, it hurt. It reminded him of them.

He suddenly felt a flashback to her sitting on a chair, pointed and laughed at, and the words 'Zero' repeating over and over again, then starting to blur out. Until-

He was suddenly transported back to the present, and judging by the glances of Luna and Night Ninja, he was out for a while. Defeated, he raised his hands in the air and sighed. "Fine, fine. I'm going, I'm going." Romeo turned around on his heel and swiftly left, trying his hardest not to run and cry while he curled up behind the door that he felt was too big for someone his size.

Romeo was not an emotionally senstive person. Definitely not. Even after his first encounter with the PJ masks, where they aimed all sorts of 'bad things' at him. Saying things roughly along the lines of 'How about make a machine that makes you less stupid? Like perhaps a machine that can make you dissapear!' Or something along those lines. He definitely did not drive away and lock himself up in his room and cry for a few hours. Definitely not. Also during the many times his inventions failed or got destroyed by the PJ masks or someone else, or sometimes even himself. He definitely did not grieve for hours on a useless piece of metal that he could easily fix, crying and hugging it close. Definitely not. Emotional senstivity was not something to befall a villain. Especially someone as evil as him. Yet why was he like this? Why is he so easy to upset? Why was he practically on the brink of tears everytime something remotely silly and negative happens to him? It doesn't help that he is the youngest out of the Terrible Trio, heck, even Lizard Legs is older than him by a few months. No one ever takes him seriously. Even back when she existed. They would make fun of- Why are we thinking of her? She isn't here anymore. She doesn't exist.

But why does it still hurt?

It's not like some god can save him by some sort of wish.
Unbeknownst to the trio, the PJ masks have been listening in the whole time. They were clearly shocked and concerned by the whole event. The would not expect someone like Romeo to attempt to break up a fight like that. They would have assumed that Night Ninja was the most mature one, and now they are starting to doubt it. As they watched Romeo run off into his flying factory, they all exchanged concerned looks while nodding at each other. "I didn't know Romeo cared about friendship so much." Catboy started. "Sure, he IS a villain, and a pretty bad one but he's helped multiple times." Owlette nodded and replied, "I think I know what's happening!" She smiled at the other two. "What's are you thinking Owlette?" Gekko chimed in, curious. But they just ignored him. "He may have an evil exterior but deep down, he's a kind little guy who cares about his friends! It may not be all the time he shows this side of him, but, I can feel it's genuine." The others kept ignoring him and kept planning. "I do kinda feel bad for him now that I think about it." Gekko added while he and the other PJ's looked over to the duo who were still bickering. "I have a pl-" "I think I have a plan, guys!" Gekko was cut off by a confident Catboy. "Let's stop that fight before it gets out of hand." Catboy and Owlette nodded. Catboy and Owlette approached the fussy villains and the bird girl took off to the sky then shouted:"Super Owl Feathers!" Then a barrage of owl feather separated the squabbling villains.
"LET ME FREE, BIRD BRAIN! THIS IS MY FIGHT, NOT YOURS!" Luna screeched at the top of her lungs, while trying to jump out of her feather prison. "Not a chance Luna." Owlette spat back. "Super Cat Stripes!" Catboy shouted, then the stripes tied Night Ninja up. They were about to get Romeo too, but he was nowhere to be found. "Where's Romeo?" Gekko spoke up. "That little baby probably ran off again." Night Ninja begrudgingly spoke up.
"Stop fighting over something so silly. Look what happened to Romeo. He was just trying to make you guys get along, and you scared him off!" Gekko reasoned out to Night Ninja, who was too busy checking his nails. "It wasn't MY fault he's a pathetic little crybaby pushover. He may seem like a confident little brat, but thats just the side he shows you because he's a scared little coward." Night Ninja retorted back. Catboy and Owlette were obviously stunned at this while Luna rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

Meanwhile, Gekko spotted Romeo curled up at the back of the door. His head pressed up against his knees and he was... crying? Gekko swore he heard soft muffled sobs and saw small tears running down the scientists legs. Gekko kneeled to Romeos height and pet his hair softly. "Hey, Romeo. I'm sorry that happened to you. If it makes you feel better, I feel the same, no one really taking me seriously and being mentally beaten up by my friends." Romeo stopped sniffling and looked up to meet Gekko, who was smiling softly. Romeo sighed and leaned back. "Actually.." Gekko started. "I have a question for you, but answer this honestly for me, okay?" Romeo looked up and answered softly: "Okay.."
"Why do you want to take over the world so much?"
Romeo froze. Then he relaxed and looked at Gekko. He didn't want his pity. But hopefully finally talking about this will get them to shut up and leave him to mope alone. "Are you sure you want to know? It's a very s-stupid reason..." Romeo sniffled back, doubtful. "Mhm!" Gekko nodded back. "I don't care how stupid YOU think it is! To me, it's clearly not a stupid reason if it got you to do all the things that you do." "R-really?.." Romeo looked at Gekko, who was still smiling while gently nodding, clearly mocking him, he thinks. "....Fine." Romeo gave in. "But prepare yourself. It's gonna be a long ride coming."

-FLASHBACK-
A young girl wakes up and gets ready for school. She puts on her glasses and her school uniform and heads out to the kitchen. Her mother then greets her. "Good morning, Juliet." "Good morning Mom!" My mother, Claire, was not here often. She never tells me her whereabouts, so I assume that it doesn't matter. She smiles back as she grabs her bag and picks up a piece of toast and sticks it in her mouth and runs off to school. When she arrived, she was instantly greeted by multiple people menacingly surrounding her. "Looks like the little girl is not gonna stay a LITTLE girl for long." One of them named Charlotte walked up to her and giggled. She had short, feathery red hair."Her breakfast is so big that she has to carry it with her to school! She's gonna be the biggest girl in school!" Another girl chimes in, this one is named Eloise. She wears a dark blue jacket and her slit pupils remind Juliet of a cat. However, despite the numerous mean chants, laughing and pointing that were aimed at her, Juliet still managed to make it to her classroom on time. As she set her bag down, she looked at her table and realized that the words 'Dissappear!' Crybaby' 'Stupid' 'Worthless' 'Loser' 'No one ever liked you' scribbled in bold on her desk. But before she could stare at her desk for long, the teacher came in and class started.

Class passed by in a blur. The next scene then shifts to recess time. Juliet just sulks on her desk, watching all the students leave in their own friend groups. She selfishly wishes that she could be in a friend group like that. In a friend group where people actually like her for being her. Although she knows that someone as pathetic as her should never deserve kind friends when they should be with someone who will actually be worth it. Then all of a sudden, the teacher appears in front of the class. Juliet quickly grabs her notebook and takes as much notes as possible, although she finds it quite hard to focus on something so boring. The teacher is currently discussing 'Romeo and Juliet' and Juliet knew the new chants the bullies will recite later. Just the thought of it made her shudder.

The next subject was Physical Education. Juliet's worst subject. As she made her way to the locker room, she could feel all eyes on her, and she refused to look at them. The first physical test was an endurance race. When the whistle was blown, ran as fast as she can, she used up all her energy, even if she was aware that there would be activites after. She didn't care. All she cared for was to win. Winning meant finally proving that she was worth something. Even if her worth was tied to numbers on a piece of paper. However, even with all that, she didn't reach far at all, and eventually, everyone else outran her. The bullies looked back and laughed at the sight of the poor and struggling girl. They then came up with a plan. They took out their handkerchieves and threw them on the floor. Juliet was so focused on the bullies laughing and sneering at her that she didn't realize that there were handkercheives on the floor.

She ended up last.

On the way back to the locker room, her head kept pounding from the impact. All that echoed in her head were the fingers pointing at her and the evil faces who were laughing back. When she opened her locker, her clothes were missing. She rushed back and found them sunk at the bottom of the pool.

The next day was nothing too special. The first subject was English. A subject that Juliet didn't particularly like either. She was tasked by the teacher to write a poem. Four stanzas, every ending word must rhyme, and have at least some connection or make at least one reference to 'Romeo and Juliet', the topic from yesterday. Juliet stared at the paper. She felt no thoughts coming to her head. All she could do is stare at the blank piece of paper, and felt all negative thoughts shouting and staring back at her. The teacher then walks up to her and takes the paper away from her. With a dissapointed face, she writes 'Zero' on the paper, then the bell rings. All she could do was stare. The bullies then walked up to her, with their friend Blaise in tow with them. He had dirty blonde hair, and was wearing a green jacket. Charlotte then walked up to Juliet and took the paper, muttered something, Juliet didn't even bother to register it anymore. She peeked at what Charlotte was writing, and could make out the words 'Hello, I'm a ZERO' on it. They then taped it to Juliet's face. She didn't even care. No one did. No matter how many times she told the teachers, they never listened. She even got scolded. The laughing resumed, this time with new chants: "Who's a zero? Little Mecano!" Over and over again, even if she could not see their faces, it didn't matter. She knew that they were smiling. Pointing. Laughing.

She did not even register the tears that flowed down her face.

Later that day, the teacher announced a science fair the month after next, and Juliet, for the first time in months, felt excited. Excited to show what she can do. No one wanted to listen to her rambling about science, math or whatever techonology was recently discussed. Everyone called her a little teacher, and she didn't mind. She knew that even though she was passionate, no one ever wanted to listen to her, because she somehow didn't deserve it. She didn't work hard enough. It was selfish to be someone like that and STILL beg of attention like a starved animal. A science test was announced for tomorrow.

After another PE failure, Juliet was on her way to the classroom for lunch. She was the last to arrive again. She opened the door and instantly was met with a bucket of water splashed on her and a barrage of laughter. She ran to her locker, only to discover that her belongings were stolen. She ran to the bathroom, hoping to hide there for the rest of the day, and was met with another bucket of water.

She remained there for the rest of the day.

The science test the following day was surprisingly easy. Afterwards, Charlotte and her friends were quick to bully Juliet again, saying how a frog could get a better score than her, and that it was a shame that they dissected such a frog last week for a project. Juliet could not care less.

Juliet scored a perfect score for her science test. She was estatic. The bullies tried to snatch the test paper from her, and she managed to keep and hide her paper. She felt proud.

Mother however, did not.

When Juliet happily showed her mother the perfect paper. She was met with a dissapointed face. "That's nice dear, but.." Claire replied, trying to hide the obvious dissapointment in her voice. "How about the other subjects, dear?" "Those may be nice, but I like science! It's very cool and I feel like it calls me differently, I don't know how to describe it." Juliet happily rambled on, while trying to not pay attention to the scared and dissapointed look in her mothers face.

The day before the science fair, a happy Juliet brought the project she was going to enter in the competition, a prized robot that can recite various interesting space facts that Juliet has in the back of her brain and with no idea what to do with it. It wasn't really a good robot by any chance, but it was functional. She brought it to school to store in the classroom for the event preparations. The day went on as usual, Juliet was trying her best to hide it from the bullies. However, during recess, the truly unlucky girl somehow managed to get shoved in a locker by her bullies. Eloise used a chair to block Juliet from escaping her prison. As if school was not a prison already. When the teacher finally noticed her, she opened the locker and gave her a hard scolding and forced her to clean the classroom as a punishment. Juliet could not care less. While cleanint, she walked over to her desk and found her beloved robot.

And it was smashed to pieces.

Bolts, screws and circuit boards scatteed everywhere.

All the sleepless nights, toiling to create it.

All the meals shes skipped to make that.

All the tests compromised to make it.

She fell to the floor and cried for hours.

Juliet could not care less.

Chapter Text

Claire woke up early. Juliet had already went to school. She thought about the science quiz and how genuinely happy her daughter was when showing it to her.

No. She can't let her be like her father.

But she can't handle raising her. She knew that she was a bad mother and did not deserve a child like Juliet. She can't be reminded of him.

She realized that she had to make a choice.

She put a piece of paper on the kitchen counter while packing her bags. Then she made a slice of cake for her daughter and wrote her a note, and snuck some money underneath it. Then she walked out the door. She had made for choice. It's for your own good, Juliet.
She never came back for that piece of paper.

The day of the science fair just so happens to land on August 31. Juliet's birthday. She had been so focused on her robot to remember that fact. But now that it's gone, it doesn't even matter anymore. She watched with horrifed eyes as Charlotte walked up on the stage and recieved a first prize medal for her "efforts". Efforts being clearly stolen from Juliet's own masterpiece. Or used to be masterpiece. It didn't matter anymore since it now remains as crushed metal, a worthless piece of junk, like it's creator. All this bullying, all this pain. She could not handle it anymore. She thought of climbing up that stage and ripping Charlotte alive, but...

Juliet could never bring herself to do that. She was too kind. That's the reason why they targeted her, after all.

So she made a choice. She picked up her bag and with one last look, at everything she going to leave behind, all the painful memories, and all the loneliness-

Juliet then swiftly walked out of the school gates.

As she arrived at home, Juliet noticed a piece of cake lying on the table with a note. She picked up the note curiously and read it aloud. "Happy Birthday Juliet! Mommy needs to go for a while! It's really important so I can't tell you! But I left some money for you, but remember to spend it wisely on things you actually need, like food and water! I also baked you a piece of cake. Mommy doesn't have a gift for you this year, but she is trying! With love, Mommy Claire." After reading the note, Juliet was intrigued and confused. She happily ate the cake while wondering where her mother went this time. As she looked around, she noticed a piece of paper on the kitchen counter. She walked up to it and read its contents.

A copy of a one way ticket to Manhattan. With the name on it being Claire Mecano.

A one way ticket? Why would she buy a one way ticket? She needs to come back. If she's trying to bring home a birthday surprise for Juliet that is.

Then it settled.

Oh.

No.

She finally figured it out.

This can't be happening.

Her mother left her. Alone.

Just when she thought she was happy and free.

She never liked vanilla cake ever again.

Chapter Text

Juliet did not leave her house for days. She did not care anymore. Not even the ice cream truck outside could convince her. Until a loud, 'BANG!' startled her. It came from outside. Curiosity took over her and she stepped outside. She searched all over for the sound, until it came back again. It made her ears ring and her head pound. Yet she kept searching for the source of the sound. Eventually, she found the source: a junkyard. With one individual who she could not see for he was too far away, lifting cars and other heavy metal objects witn a crane and piling them on top of each other. That's where the sound came from. She walked around for a bit, until she tripped on something.

A foot. No, a metal foot.

She quickly looked to her side and noticed a shiny metal robot. However said robot was heavily damaged and needed repairs. She quickly discovered that the robot was low on battery. She somehow felt that the robot was familiar though having never mer such a robot before. So she made a choice. She used all her might to drag the robot back to her house.

A few hours of dragging, tripping, and struggling later, the both of them finally made it to Juliet's house. She has never fixed a robot as big as this one before. But she was determined. And besides, there was no one to destroy this robot this time. So she worked, day and night, skipped a few meals here and there, passed out a few times, but it didn't matter to Juliet. She was focused to saving this robot.

After days of toiling, the robot looked good as new. When she was about to turn it on, she finally realized why it called to her.

She wanted a friend.

And this robot could be her friend.

Someone who would not judge her for being herself. Someone who would be happy listen to Juliet ramble on about her special interests. Someone who would always be there for her. A friend.

She happily powered the robot on. While they were processing their surroundings, Juliet happily waved and introduced herself. "Hi Mr Robot! My name is Juliet Mecano! I will be your new friend from now on!" She smiled happily. "Master.. Mecano?" The robot questioned. Surprisingly they had a calm sounding voice. "Yes, that's me!" Juliet smiled even wider this time. "Juliet..." The robot felt a sense of familiarity. She had met Juliet before. But, it's probably not importanr right now. The robot mused, before pulling the little girl into a hug. "Thank you for saving me, Master." "Your welcome Mister Robot!" Juliet giggled. "You really want to be friends, huh?"

"Yes, Master."

And that's how a great friendship started.

Actually, more like a parental bond. A strong parental bond.

Until a year later, Juliet felt something.

August 31st.

The most miserable day of her life.

She was standing in front of a mirror, in the bathroom. She felt all the traumatic memories resurface. All the pointing and laughing. All the name calling, all the mean chants. It all came back. And it was time to make a descision again.

But a random memory also came back.

The memory of that blank piece of paper.

According to what she remembered, she was supposed to write a poem about that 'Romeo and Juliet' play. She was supposed to write alternate ending for it. However all she did at that time was stare at a blank piece of paper for an hour. But, this time, she had an idea.

If all those people wanted Juliet gone, then she would be gone. Even Juliet wanted to be gone. However, what would rise from Juliet would be someone better than she could ever be. Someone being the complete opposite of that shy, timid, useless, self doubtful girl, the girl who could easily be taken advantage of. Someone who is confident and useful. She could change everything about her and become someone better. Someone Juliet could never be. The complete opposite of Juliet. They wanted Juliet to be gone, but in return they have to deal someone else.

Romeo.

And so it happened.

She untangled her braids and began cutting her hair. Raven black hair with white strands start falling to the floor. All the while, all kinds of thoughts are running through their head. Until,

He had done it.

He had become Romeo.

The opposite of Juliet.

And he could have never felt happier.

But he still felt like it wasn't enough.

He still had to prove his worth somehow.

You know what? Romeo had the perfect idea. The ultimate proof of his worth that will shut everyone up once and for all.

He was going to take over the world.

Yeah. That will show them.

If he took over the world then no one would bully him anymore. If he took over the world, people will like him. If he took over the world, he will finally have friends. If he took over the world, he won't be lonely anymore. If he took over the world, he can -

"Master?"

Robot asked through the door, despite having a robotic voice, Romeo could feel the concern in the robot's voice.

"You can come in , Robot!" Romeo called, not really sure how to feel right now. Robot entered and notice the child in front of him with short hair. "Nice haircut, Master." Robot replied, not really understanding the reason why the child cut their hair. Romeo could tell it was starting to get awkward so he broke the silence.

"Robot, I have to tell you something..."

Chapter Text

"No one listened to me back then, and still no one listens to me now! Robot only does because I'm ordering him to. He doesn't care. I know it. He would leave me in a heartbeat if he got the chance! So would Robette! Everyone will! No matter what I do, no matter what I say, no one will ever listen to me, or care, or love me, NO ONE! No one. So I trust myself. Only myself. The truth is, I join villain alliances just to not feel alone for another night. I just feel SO LONELY, EVERY NIGHT!" Romeo was basically crying now, he didn't care how ugly he looked, with tears streaming down his cheeks. He didn't care. He kept going. "They only care about more because I have all the tools they need! I am the only one who could make those inventions. They only care about my genius. Not really about me. And I hate it. Everyday I just wish that one of them would visit me to just have fun with me. No evil things, no bad stuff, nothing. Just fun. But of course that never happens. It will never happen. I'm just delusional thinking I should recieve a reward for my stupidity and incompetence when in reality I should be working harder. But no matter what I do, I can't get anything right. They were right. All of them were right. I am a zero. I am a zero at everything. I can't be a good villain, I can't be a good hero when the oppurtunity comes either. I am so bad and miserable as a villain that the universe has given me multiple oppurtunities to be a hero, but of course, stupid as I am, I always refused them. Even when I did help, it was my fault that I even caused those problems anyway."

Romeo finished, finally feeling more relaxed after having relieved such a large burden from his back. Metaphorically and not literally, of course. Gekko just stared, not noticing his mouth was wide open. "You're staring, lizard legs." Romeo chided, suddenly feeling rather stupid for outright outing himself like that. Gekko just stared and smilied.

Smilied.

Thats weird. He's supposed to pointing. Laughing. Something. But he smiled.
"I didn't know we had so much in common!" Gekko said with a genuine smile on his face. "W-what?" Romeo replied, clearly shocked but was interested, then he realized how rude he was, and composed himself. "I'm sorry, I mean.. Uhh.. W-what do you mean..?" Romeo stuttered back, mad at himself for replying like that. Gekko just stared at him with wide eyes before speaking. "Romeo.. Apologizing? I thought this day would never come." Gekko replied with a little smirk on his face but when he saw the other's empty eyes and sunken face, the smirk quickly faded. "I'm sorry, that was mean."

Silence.

"It's okay." Romeo responded. "Tell me more." The boy spoke up, interested and somewhat excited. As Gekko shuffled a little closer, the other replied. "About what makes us so... similar, I mean.." Romeo quickly sunked back. "Okay!" Gekko quickly responded and began to tell his own story. "Well I was bullied too. I wasn't the best at english or presenting in front either. I didn't really have any friends of my own too. I was pretty lonely for basically what seemed like forever until Connor and Amaya showed up and asked if I wanted to be their friend. They were targeted by the same group of people who bullied me, and so I felt a connection. Soon after, I became their friend. It felt nice. Then the whole pj thing happened and I was actually pretty afraid of the whole thing at first, fighting villains at night with powers and all.. Then I realized that I could spend more time with my friends this way. Then suddenly it didn't feel that scary anymore. But however, over time, my friends... How do I say this? They changed. It wasn't a good change." While Gekko was speaking, Romeo shifted closer to the other, getting more comfortable in knowing how similar they really are. He leaned in, listening really closely and nodding whenever he felt it was needed. Gekko spoke on about how friends cared about his powers, and his information more than him. They stopped listening to him, they stopped asking how he felt every time they thought of a plan. How he was the one they always blamed when something went wrong. How they didn't care for him at all. And Romeo felt the same way. Now it was Romeo's turn to stare wide eyed.

Then Gekko decided.

"Hey Romeo?"

"Yes, Li- I mean, Gekko?"

"Do you wanna be friends? It can be just me, not the others yet."

"R-really?"

"Yeah! You can still be a villain if you want, but incase you choose otherwise, the Power Heroes squad is always open!"

"Okay."

"You'll be my friend?"

"Yes. But I'm sure if I want to be a good guy yet. Is that okay? I'm sorry if it isn't."

"That's fine! We will always be ready to accept you in, whenever you're ready!"

"Okay."

Gekko then pulled Romeo into a hug. And it felt nice. Both of them felt nice. They stayed like that for a while. Then Gekko spoke up.

"Do you wanna go outside and meet the others?"

"I cried, remember? They'll find out and laugh at me."

"They won't, I promise."

"Okay, fine."

The two then make their way outside, where they were shocked to see that the others have gotten along quite well. It was Catboy and Night Ninja versus Owlette and Luna girl at a surprisingly fair game of moon-ball volleyball. They were teaming up and playing fair. Gekko and Romeo looked at each other and nodded.
The other four were shocked to see Gekko and Romeo working together to be the referees. Said duo was just staring them. "What?" Romeo spoke up. "Keep playing! The game's not done yet!" Gekko nodded beside him. The others smiled and kept playing.
After a while, they got tired and fell into a pile. Luna girl then spoke up. "I'm sorry for what happened earlier, that could have been easily avoided."
"I'm sorry for that too. I shouldn't have shouted at you like that. I was just really mad, but I should have dealt with it another way." Night Ninja added, while crossing his arms. Romeo smiled. "Thank you, really."
"You know, you really scared me when you ran off like that." Night Ninja replied, looking at Romeo, who was smiling happily.

Meanwhile, the PJ masks were all sitting next to each other, looking pretty guilty, atleast that's what Catboy and Owlette look like. Gekko is just smiling. "I'm sorry for being a bad friend to you, Gekko. I really don't have any excuses this time." Catboy started, scratching his head. "Me too Gekko, I shou
