Kissing feels like the right answer

Summary:

NGL Prompt: Tim notice Lucy all dressed up? Oh wait maybe Tim is stressing about meeting Lucy at work, maybe he keep changing his henley🤔

Also

Tim and Lucy have a little “study” date with a little twist 🤭

Notes:

Was struggling for a while on what to do with this prompt. This idea came to me the other day when they again mentioned the Sergeants exam/Tim helping Lucy study.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Tonight is their first study “date”. Lucy insisted they go to his house so they’ll have a bit of privacy versus doing it at the apartment with Celina home. When Lucy said she wanted privacy, Tim raised an eyebrow but all he got in response was an eye roll.

Tim wasn’t sure why he was nervous. It wasn’t

like it was an actual date. He thought longer today about what he should wear than he’d ever like to admit.

Getting home, he has about 30 minutes before Lucy will be heading over. He walks into his bedroom and throws on a pair of black jeans. Simple but nice enough. Getting those on, he opens his shirt drawer.

He obviously doesn’t want anything too fancy, he doesn’t want to give Lucy the wrong impression. He will wait until she’s ready for that next step and not a second sooner.

He takes out a light blue Henley and puts it on. He looks into the mirror and just shakes his head before pulling it off and throwing it on his bed.

Next he takes out a black one… that wasn’t it. Grey, not it either. Maybe dark blue? Nope, definitely not that.

He finally takes out a salmon colored and thinks that’s the one. Except the jeans he has on he doesn’t like with the shirt. Pulling those off and throwing them on the floor, he pulls out a lighter washed pair and puts them on.

Finally satisfied with his outfit, he walks back out of his bedroom closing the door behind him.

He made sure to stop and get Lucy’s favorite wine incase she wanted some tonight. And if not, he could just save it for a later time. Perhaps a date night, hopefully sooner rather than later.

It took him longer than it should have to get dressed and he sees Lucy pulling up next to his truck. He smiles to himself before walking over to the door.

He notices as she gets out, she’s wearing a floral printed, low cut shirt and a pair of dark pants that hug her in all the right places. He has to stop himself from drooling before she sees him.

She’s surprised to see him standing there, wide grin on his face waiting for her to walk up.

“You know I’m not going to go easy on you tonight,” he jokes as she walks in the door.

“Wouldn’t expect anything else,” she smirks. “I just got us some sandwiches, I hope that’s okay.”

“You don’t have to feed me Luce, but thank you.”

“It’s the least I could do since you’re helping me.”

He doesn’t miss the wink as she walks past him. He doesn’t miss the way she purposefully walks close enough to him that their arms brush against each other.

“Kojo! Come here buddy!” She turns back after putting their food down on the table and moves closer, getting down on the ground to pet him.

“You’re not the only one that hasn’t forgiven me yet.” He says looking down at the two now almost wresting.

She doesn’t say anything but he can tell by her facial expression exactly what she’s thinking. Sighing to himself, he walks over to the table and gets their food ready.

After dinner was had and cleaned up, they get right to business. At first it starts out totally innocent. He’s quizzing her and giving her a smile or a nod after every right answer. The ones she isn’t getting right (which is very few), he’s giving her the answer and explaining it to her.

As the night goes on, both have had a few glasses of wine and have become more and more flirty with each other. Finding herself getting bored, she decides to shake things up a little bit.

“I think I need to start getting rewarded for getting them right.”

“And what would you like your prize to be?” He looks up at her with a smug look.

“Hmm… every answer I get right, I get one kiss.” She has a giant smirk on her face.

After pretending to think about her stipulations, “I think that can be arranged.”

After they both wipe the grins off of their faces, he asks her the next question,

“When evidence is obtained by the police in violation of a person's constitutional rights, that evidence may be inadmissible in any subsequent criminal trial against that person for which the evidence was a key component. This is known as?”

She pauses before answering, thinking about the answer. Tim knows she knows it.

“The exclusionary rule,” she states confidently.

“Correct,” he says proudly before leaning in and giving her a little peck.

“Okay, here’s another. Which of the following constitutional amendments contains the due process clause?”

She confidently shoots back, “Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.”

Giving her a nod, he gives her another kiss. He knew what he was doing. If she wanted to play this game, then he was making up his own rules. Every right answer, the kiss would get a little longer and a little deeper.

A few questions and right answers later, things were definitely heating up. They both had a feeling it wouldn’t be much longer before the books, notecards and wine were forgotten about.

“In order to allow for accurate and complete reconstruction of an accident scene, it is important for an officer to measure skid marks to?”

“The nearest inch.” She says with a proud smile.

He nods before leaning in, placing a hand on her cheek and giving her a passionate kiss.

They smiled as they pulled away from each other. Winking, “okay, last one.” He clears his throat.

“An object, measure, or model with which evidence is compared to determine whether both came from the same source.”

“Standard of comparison.”

He puts down the notecards and looks up at her with a smile.

“Very good. I think you’ve fully earned your reward.”

Not being able to resist herself, she leans forward and wraps her arms around his shoulders. He pulls her up off of her chair and onto his lap. Their lips immediately attach to each other and they only stop when air is necessary.

They make eye contact and without saying a word, they both know what the other wants. Tim stands up, still holding onto her. Now carrying her bridal style, he kisses her while walking to the bedroom and closes the door.
