“Well…this is eventful.” Blue Oak said to no one in particular.
Honestly, this is the least exciting part of his journey so far: being champion. Mostly because he’s just waiting around for someone to take his place.
Yeah, like that’ll ever happen.
Lance has been champion for like…a really long time right? So it should be the same for him. Would be the same for him.
Unlike Lance, he doesn’t stick to one typing. He considers himself more prepared to deal with difficult opponents. Why choose different moves to counter super effective attacks when you can just have super effective Pokémon? He never understood sticking to one typing anyway.
Neither did Red, it seemed. Which is good, because it’s something he can relate with, but also really fucking annoying. Does he have to copy everything? Why can’t he just, I don’t know, catch every single Pokémon in the Pokédex and leave him be? Oh, because you have to become champion before you can go into that cave?
(That better not be the reason or I swear to Arceus-)
He leaned against the wall, tossing a Pokeball up and down to pass the time. If time was really passing. It must be, because he can hear Pokémon cries coming from Lance’s chamber.
‘Already? It’s only been-‘
10 minutes?
There’s a challenger already and it’s only been 10 minutes???
Well, if anyone has to take him down, he hoped it would be Red. Because if it wasn’t, he was gonna be really pissed off. And maybe drag him up here, elite four and champion be damned.
Not that he wanted to lose his new position, of course.
He heard footsteps coming towards him and thank Arceus it was Red. He didn’t say anything as usual, which was fine because Blue did all the talking for him. And sometimes words just weren’t needed.
He did have to say something to get the ball rolling though, so he headed over to meet Red.
