    Bruce pulled the hood of Dick’s sweatshirt down, letting them all see who he was. Dick could feel his heart pounding against his ribcage, and he felt absolutely ill standing there. He closed his mouth to keep himself from vomiting. He had a feeling he knew why he was there.

    To add to the gifts for the king. He didn’t know if it was the king of Tamaran, or whatever alien nation this ship came from, but either way, he wanted nothing to do with them. Yet, that didn’t matter, as Dick was legally under Bruce’s care, and if Bruce was saying that Dick would be among the king’s gifts, then Dick would be among the king’s gifts. Still, he felt sick knowing that he was worth noting more than just one more treasure to add to a tribute.
