    After a concerted push from the noble Boyars to begin a war with the Holy Kingdom, the princess decides to take matters into her own hands and creates a scheme, along with her court allies, to slay the boyars at a banquet held at her castle. In the aftermath, she confesses her true feelings to her childhood friend and captain of the royal guard. Knowing that he would likely object to such bloodshed, she had him kept locked in her room during the banquet. At last, though, the two grapple with their new position, as well as with their feelings for one another.
