I'm walking happily in my own field of dreams,
Imagining how a life with you would be—
How many adventures we'd survive,
Never forgetting what they were like.
And the number of immaculate places we strike upon
While driving with your VW bus towards the sun.
Oh baby, you've got that slow-burn rebel look in your eyes,
The kind that makes me feel like walking through a field of dandelions,
Just to waste every single wish for you to be mine.
Because I'd like to hang out with you for my whole life.
However, that is not yet anywhere near reality,
So twinkling eyes and shy smiles it has to be.
For now, I'm waiting in the background,
Silently begging for you to stay around.
And even though I don't want to attach any strings,
I think you might be the one to fix
The holes in my butterfly wings.
And maybe you don't know it yet,
But I gave my fragile little heart to you—
Hoping I won't regret.
Because I want to trust you too.
Don't make it break or give it away;
