Summary
Lost in a vicious snowstorm, Sara is quickly running out of strength as well as hope when an unexpected saviour appears. A non-human saviour. Is he an angel, come in answer to her prayers, or something else entirely?
The shape stepped closer, and her heart jumped back to life. It was a man. He appeared impossibly tall, his imposing stature emphasized by old-fashioned clothes. How he had found her, or what he was doing out here, she had no idea, but he was real. He must be. Her prayers had been heard; rescue had come. Thank you, God.
‘What have we here?’ he said, squatting next to her. Up close he was the most beautiful being she had ever seen, skin almost as pale as his long silvery-white hair, which seemed to put even the snow to shame with its pure brilliance, and his eyes… his eyes…
‘A human girl? What are you doing out here? This is no place for your kind.’
