Work Text:
“Alright, Mimi,” Michael said, smoothing her damp curls. “Bedtime story!”
He swung the squealing toddler around and into bed.
He and Tori didn’t want kids, but he loved being an uncle.
Michael grabbed Mimi’s chosen book, but she shook her head before he started.
“Roo,” she said.
“I….don’t know what that is.”
“Roo!” she insisted. Michael was at a loss.
“Wan’ ‘Roo!!” Mimi practically shouted.
Michael looked on helplessly until Tori suddenly appeared behind him.
“She wants her kangaroo,” Tori said flatly, handing over the plush, tears stopping abruptly.
“Roo!” Mimi said happily, hugging her beloved tightly.
Crisis averted.
