Summary
When Yelena, Alexei, Natasha and Melina made their move to bring down the Red Room, Dreykov was a step ahead of them. He didn't trust anyone, and had long since been watching the world through a chip at the corner of Melina's eye. This meant that *nothing* came as a surprise to him.
It was child's play for him to expose Romanov to chemical conditioning. It was something that was specifically targeted at the female brain, so he would have been a fool to not pump the formula through the vents in his office. And Dreykov was many things - cruel, controlling, misogynistic, a psychopath - but he was far from stupid.
The only trouble was, these were subjects who had already shaken off his control once before. And something of that lingered.
From inside the control of the Red Room, this web of people, along with new allies and old, have to find a way to start putting themselves back together once more.
Meanwhile, on the outside, Clint Barton won't stop looking for his best friend. And the world, and the Avengers swing closer towards the inevitable confrontation with Thanos by the day.
