Disturbed Children

Summary:

A story of children slowly becoming "Disturbed" due to circumstances, told by a narrator that caused them.

Notes:

I expected this to be out months in the future because I was going to edit this more, and re-write it a thousand times, but consider this a rough draft.

Chapter 1: Dearest Reader

Chapter Text

My dearest reader,

I regret to inform you that this is not a happy story. If you would like a happy story, I highly encourage you to never think about this book again. This is a story of the depressed, disturbed, traumatized, desensitized, and insane. I myself have been kept awake at night, wondering if my research will ever be finished, thinking about a world where these children are safe. I have been pushed to sickness, even in my immortal form, thinking about the tragedy these children went through, apologizing for whatever I myself have had to put them through.

This story is not for the faint of heart. It is full of gore, assault, harassment, mental illness, forbidden love, hallucination, abuse, outlaw, panic attacks, death, life, and other horrors. Only read at your own risk. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Within these pages you’ll learn the stories of children who have bonded into families, beautiful romances, strong sibling dynamics, and created safety. However, you’ll only find this if you have the stomach to get through what these children did or perhaps are not highly affected by vomit.

If you have not seen anything that scares you on this list, or you can’t take a warning, continue reading. I invite you to lay awake at night and think about these people that have only been documented here. This has been my torture and my passion, my comfort and my agony. I hope it to be the same for you. Or maybe it will end up simply being what it is. Documentation. A biography of children nobody cared about but me, and hopefully you.

I suppose you’ll want some explanation. You’ll get one. Not until you start reading, which in hindsight might cause you to overlook the warnings, but that’s your own fault. Keep in mind, curiosity did kill the cat, but people tend to forget that the second half of that phrase is that satisfaction brought it back. Perhaps you will enjoy this story. Perhaps you’ll imagine this as fiction, and not a real story, simply a bit away from your world. This is not fiction, but maybe you’ll believe it’s not, which I truly hope. I hope for you to think this is a story and not a biography. Perhaps satisfaction will resurrect you as well as that poor cat.

If you believe this is a story, here’s how it goes. You’ll find parents who are forced away from their children, and parents who force their children away. You’ll find children comforting each other through horrors. You’ll find siblings who help each other through pain, and you’ll find beauty in this tragedy. Perhaps the beauty will prevent your disgusted vomit and perhaps you’ll think of the beauty and not the tragedy when you lay awake at night.

Sincerely,
D.

PLEASE leave any critiques or comments, it helps me out a ton, but please be polite and remember that this isn't done, it's simply a sneak at the book.
