Chapter Text
Auradon. Auradon was one of the best places in the world for big and strong packs, such as the top famous ones, The Florian Pack, The Charming Pack, and the Snowy White Pack. Those three packs had been the top prosperity for years, and they still were after 4 generations. Chloe Charming, was blessed to be a part of the second most well known pack in history, and she had been grateful every day…Except for when she got bullied constantly for her only thing that sets her apart from the other wolves, her ability to transform and have heats.
Yes, she knew that it wasn’t that big of a deal to outsiders, but having those two traits is what actually makes you a healthy eligible member of the pack. Heats give you offspring, and being able to transform into a wolf is just a given. She didn’t even have simple ears and a tale yet. Just plain, stupid, human anatomy.
Today was the first day back to Auradon High, and she was extremely excited to try out for the Swords and Shields team, and then perhaps, maybe even Tourney if she was lucky. Her brother currently had the spot as the captain for both teams, though he was close to being down-graded with Lonnie. Chad used to be a bit sexist to women joining boy sports, but ever since his sister got into them, he became supportive, which encouraged many boys and girls to try sports that they would usually never do. But that was the only change that they would let slide, but they were still very strict on what happened, and how things happened, especially when it involves images, and how it would affect the pack, but for now, she was just worrying about what her first impression would be.
“Chloe, you’re going to be late!” Her father yelled from the outside of her bedroom door. “And you still need to eat breakfast.”
Chloe sighed, grabbing her swords and shields gear, before heading to the kitchen, where she instantly got hit in the face with a ball. By her brother.
“Sorry sis! Just practicing for Tourney. Are you sure you’re ready for that? You couldn’t catch that ball.”
“Chad, I got this! I’m ready! I have been training all my life! I’m ready to be accepted!”
Chad nods, before twitching his ears slightly. “You know you are going to have to put on some fake ears, and a fake tail. We can tell them you wolfed out over the summer.”
“Seriously? That's your plan on making me…normal?”
“Don’t take it so seriously Chloe, Father suggested it.”
Chloe knit her eyebrows, a bit taken aback. “Father suggested it? Why on earth would father suggest it?”
“You know why Chloe. It's our reputation. It has gone long enough. I don’t want to do this, but it has to be done.” Chad sighed, going over to the present that had been on the counter, and gave it to Chloe. “We got it personally customized to match your hair.”
“Of course you did.” Chloe grumbled, opening the present, finding the unsettling realistic ears and tail in the supposed ‘gift.’, and set them aside. “Is this like a clip- in thing?”
He nodded. “Yeah, but it's magical. Only you can take it off. Which you won’t be doing until you finally wolf out.”
Chloe wanted to argue, wanted to shout out loud that she was normal and didn’t have to change who she was for how other people wanted her to be, but of course, she couldn’t argue against family matters, and family reputation. That was just a straight up, no, so she just went along with it, applying the ears and tail onto herself, which made her extremely itchy, and made her want to honestly rip them off right then and there, but she stuck with it, and ate half of her food, before walking to school, with Chad. Here's to the start of Auradon Academy. Woohoo…
—--------
As soon as she walked in, she knew she was being eyed down by 40% of the girls and 60% of the guys. She knew that because she smelled a lot of male rut rage as she and her friends liked to call it. See, when wolves, (like herself) wolf out, they are officially, ‘Breedable’ which is unfortunately socially acceptable. You would wolf out, and then turn back into a normal wolf, with just the ears and the tail, and if you were an alpha, you’d be blessed with a- new adjustment to help breed, since that was what Alpha’s jobs were meant to do/ This job was for mainly males. If you got blessed with the ability to house the Alpha’s adjustment, you were an Omega, which was mostly by females. It was a pretty accomplished system, and the system worked! Well, unless you were born the opposite gender to the Alpha or Omega role. People in the kingdom did not like this, and they usually sent those who were different like that, to the Isle, and used the add on, that they were villains, which was true, but they had turned into villains from the constant shunning they got from the people of the kingdoms. In olden times, people even turned to burning them, claiming they were ‘A spawn from Tartarus, and Zeus would be happy if this goal was accomplished, and which, they would be sent to Elysium. Yeah…she didn’t understand her ancestors, or how they were the ‘founding fathers’ when she could think of 10 other people who could have been better at ruling.
Anyways, the point was, she felt like an open target, with predators just eyeing her down like she was an injured baby faun, just ready to collapse at any given moment.
As she made her way down the hall, her two best friends came to her, smiling widely.
“Hey Chlo! You didn’t text us that you wolfed out! What are you, Omega? I don’t see a bulge.” Anh commented. Anh was the…weird one of the bunch. She was a glowing label sign of outcast. Did everything to rebel, but the only thing she couldn’t get rebelled on was the roles. She got Omega, much to her dismay, which made her extremely mad, and lash out on the boys who were just asking her a simple geometry question, which they got answered pretty fast in the family jewels. Yeah, she wasn’t afraid of anyone, and that was probably her traits from her moms, Chief Raya of Heart, and Chief Namaari of Fang. They were hard on her as a girl, training her for the outside world, that is Auradon, the school where everyone goes to. It was required at least one year there, that law had been put there ever since the outcasts got let into the school. The villain kids, the female alphas, the male omegas, and hey, why not sprinkle some betas in there as well. The school was beginning to form and adapt. Slowly, and slowly, yet they couldn’t accept the fact that a 16 year old wolf couldn’t transform yet.
“Why are you looking?” Asked Aziz, her other way out of the ordinary friend, who was really chill most of the time, mainly spending his time skipping classes, or playing on the R.O.A.R fencing team. He got held back, and he was trying his hardest to have a better year, especially with his parents, Jasmine and Aladdin on his back 24/7. But people don’t just switch up in the blink of an eye. It's a long, hard process, and Aziz knew that. He would just hope he brought his A game this year.
“Because I’m gay, I do shit like that man.” Anh replied easily, getting an eye roll from Aziz.
“I am too, and you don’t see me staring at crotches!”
“Not females. But I sure catch you staring at some boys-”
“Can both of you shut up!” Chloe yelled, putting her hands on her ears. “I-I haven’t yet. These are fake- I’m just…forced to wear them. Do not tell anybody.”
They both stare at her for a full 2 minutes, before giving their same old smirks.
“Girl, you know we would never, plus, we already knew. Intense smells. Aziz can smell anything, he's the best.”
“Say that again.”
“No fucking way asshole. You already got a big head from summer break!”
Aziz rolled his eyes. “Just because King Charming invited me to be Chloe’s suitor, doesn’t mean I got a big head.”
“Wait, he offered that?” Chloe asked, a bit shocked by the revelation.
“You didn’t know? I would have thought your parents would have told you. Oh well, it doesn’t matter because I turned it down. I’m too gay for the straight life.”
“But wait, he seriously didn’t tell you?” Anh asked, having a glare start to form on her face as the conversation progressed.
“No, not at all. Just gave me these stupid ears and tail, well actually, he had Chad give me them, as well as hormone spray.”
“That's ridiculous. I swear I’m going to have a word with him.”
“No you won’t.” Chloe said, pushing past the hooligans, who just continued to follow her.
“No, she won’t. But I will.” Aziz insisted. Skipping through the hallways with his friends.
“Neither of you will do anything okay! Honestly I-” Suddenly, the intercom comes on, interrupting Chloe’s initial sentence.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are now under a lockdown. There has been a Vampire spotted on campus. I repeat, we are under lockdown, there has been a vampire spotted on campus. Please all students find a Vampire-Safe room!
Well, that was a turn of events. Chloe only got back to her senses when she felt hard shoulders pushing against her. She looked around and students were rushing around, Anh and Aziz long gone. They probably thought Chloe was with them. Chloe tried to catch up with the crowd, but she had been standing too long. She had long lost them. Great.
Chloe sighed, making her way to the bathroom in a hurry. The Vampire-Safe room was probably locked, and they wouldn’t open it for anyone. Her safest bet was just to hide in the bathroom, until it was announced safe.
After a while, she heard footsteps…stepping into the bathroom where she was. It sounded like loud heels, almost like they were stomping. Chloe held her breath, not wanting to be caught by this…person who could be a vampire, or even a teacher who could scold her…but she did have a lot of curiosity, which didn’t go well. Ever. “Hello…?”
The person stopped in their tracks, before they let out a laugh. An oddly hypnotizing laugh. “Looks like someone got left behind.”
“A-are you a vampire?” She asked hesitantly, hearing the steps come closer to her stall.
“Wouldn’t you like to know? If I was, would you stay in that stall, standing on the toilet?”
“I- i…yeah? Vampires drink people dry of their blood!”
The person stayed quiet for a few, before sighing. “That is an assumption with the people here. That vampires just want to kill people. At this point, we should, since that is what they already assume of us.”
“So you are a vampire?!” Chloe shrieked.
“Chill out, gods, you sound like a little puppy.”
At that, Chloe growled out loud, that specific comment getting to her, which made her hop off the toilet, and open the stall, which she instantly regretted when she came face to face with a red haired girl who had a big smirk on her face.
“Well, hello there. Nice to see the face that I am talking to.” The red head said.
“A-are you going to bite me? Because- if you try anything…I got my swords- I’ll punch you- you won’t have a chance!”
The girl scoffed. “First, if I even wanted to, I could bite you extremely fast, faster than a blink of an eye, and inject you with a poison. But we don’t do that for fun. And second, I’m immortal… puppy. ”
Chloe lunged, drawing her sword, slashing the girl on the face, but that's all she could get in, before she felt a bite on her neck. Oh gods, she was done for. She thought, but before she could think of what to do, 3 cops came bursting in the door, with anti-vampire suits, as well as garlic spray.
“Take your teeth off her, and put your hands up in the air!” One of the female cops ordered.
In an instant, Chloe felt Red’s teeth rip off her skin, but not before she licked it up, and then she backed away, but she didn’t look like she was alarmed. “Society is always the same.” She muttered, before being dragged away by two of the police officers, while the other tried to comfort Chloe, but Chloe was completely out of it, just blinking, before she went unconscious.
