Chapter Text
Now, I'm looking to the sky to save me
Looking for a sign of life
Looking for something to help me burn out bright
And I'm looking for a complication
Looking 'cause I'm tired of lyin'
Make my way back home when I learn to fly high
Enid slammed the door to their dorm room closed and took a deep breath. Her mind was in whirling in a panic. She could imagine her wolf pacing back and forth in agitation inside of her. Sliding down the barrier that separated her from the outside world, she leaned her head back on the dark wood desperate to keep herself from howling in frustration. How could she have been so stupid?!
A low growl escaped her as she closes her eyes, one of her fangs biting into her lip as she sees the scene in her head: the phone call with her mother before lunch which the after effects left her embarrassing herself in front of her friends; but that was not the worse part, this incident involved a Raven which is what led to this downward spiral. She was for certain that Wednesday was going to kill her…or worse…request a new roommate. This thought caused the wolf inside to wail in excruciating pain. Her hand flew to her chest as she felt that heartbreak, claws nearly piercing through the fabric of her school blazer. Just the mere thought of losing her mate in any form sent her reeling.
“Ok…ok Sinclair. Wolf-up; take a deep breath.” She muttered to herself as she tries to focus on her breathing. She shakily inhales and holds it for a few seconds before releasing it. She does this a few more times before she feels any calmer, “Ok…” she says to no one, thanking whatever higher power there was that Thing was not at Nevermore right now to see this, “Ok…I got this…spiraling for no reason…and talking to myself. God I am so screwed.”
Getting up from the door, certain that Wednesday was not going to come barging in at any moment, she places her bag on her bed before collapsing into it, staring at her roommate’s side of the room with longing. The wolf let out a whine, turning over to stare up at the fairy lights on the ceiling.
“Now that you’ve successfully wolfed out a few times, it is time to consider an appropriate mate.” Her mother’s words resonated in her mind as she recalls the phone call again. Why her mother felt the need to call her in the middle of the day to say this was beyond her.
Another growl escaped her as she covered her eyes. Mate?! She already had one! Not that she had let her mother know that fact for she had hung up as soon as that sentence was uttered. A whine escapes her as she rolls back over to her side, once more facing the dark side of the room; Enid feels her eyes water, she had not even realized Wednesday was her mate until recently.
She closed her eyes and squeezed one of her plushies for comfort and she remained like that until she had heard pounding footsteps nearby. Oh shit! She jumped up from the bed and backed away from the door to stand by the window, this was it…Wednesday was going to freak. She glances one more time, inhaling the scent of ink, and old books. What she would not give to see her future where she was happy and with Wednesday. Taking a deep breath, she waits for her impending doom when suddenly the floor gives out underneath her and she feels herself falling through the floor and into total blackness.
The door to the room slams open just as everything returns to normal, “Sinclair!” Wednesday yells out as she looks at the empty room not noticing that anything was out of place. She lets out a low growl of frustration and goes to the bathroom, “Enid!” she knocks on the door roughly, but not hearing a response, she opens the door and sees that it is also empty.
Her hands go on her hips and glares at the empty room. Glancing at the clock on her nightstand, she shakes her head, “I swear to Lucifer when I find that infuriating werewolf…” she lets the sentence trail off, as she makes her way to finish the rest of the day; once she sees Enid, she is going to give that blonde a piece of her mind.
-Moments earlier (28 years into the future)-
“Vega, are you sure this is a good idea?” A girl with long dark hair asks hesitantly. She feels tapping on her shoulder and looks at the severed hand as it signs something which she just gives a concerned expression in return.
The other girl in the room, who has dark hair with pink tips just gives a fanged smile, “Of course, I am sure Sora. When have I ever been wrong before?”
“Uh-”
“Don’t answer that!” She says automatically as she finishes drawing a circle on the wall in her room.
The severed hand slides off Sora’s shoulder and lands gracefully on the desk in the room and roughly taps, grabbing both girls’ attention. He starts to rapidly tap out a sentence and gives a look of strong disapproval as much as a hand could, “Relax Thing. I know but Mother is not home right now and…” she frowns now, “I just want to see Mom.” Then sobering up, she waves the hand off again, “Besides we have done this spell loads of times before. How hard can it be?”
“Vega, hold on; think about this for a moment.” Sora says as she stops her friend of turning around with the book in her hand, lowering it slightly, “I might only go to a normie school and all, but even I know this looks a little more complicated than you might think.” She motions to the open page, “Besides, if you want to see your mom that badly, then FaceTime her. Isn’t she the one who does the ‘modern’ form of communication?”
Vega frowns, “Yes, but she is somewhere on the reservation; she doesn’t always get the best service to start with, and when she is with the wolves, she doesn’t keep her phone on her.” Then she looks away from her friend’s sad gaze, “Also I might have said some things that I am not proud of. I just want to make sure she is ok.”
Sora sighed and stole a glance at Thing who gave as much of a resigned shrug as he could, “Alright, we’re here for support then.”
Vega gives them a smile and a nod, “Thank you. Now then…” She looks back at the book with a concentrated frown, “I think I have everything…” She clears her throat and looks at the circle. She places her hand in the middle and focuses on her mom, ideally though her mind wanders unintentionally as she thinks how her mom was when she was a teenager. What she would not give to see her, possibly get to know her…maybe, no she will not let that thought come to pass.
Sora and Thing watch closely when there is a sudden shake. They are momentarily startled when suddenly the lights in the room went out and a portal opens in the ceiling, “Uh Vega?” Sora calls out.
“Not now, I am focusing.”
“Vega!”
“Not now Sora.”
“VEGA!”
“WHAT?!” Vega turns to look at them with a glare, but then it morphs into the confusion as they point up at the ceiling. She looks up just as a body falls through and lands on top of her, “Ow! Jeeze.” She groans out under the weight of the person that came through.
“Oh man…what happened?” Vega freezes as she hears the person above her.
“Here let me…” Sora came over and once she takes in the new comer, her face momentarily pales, “Uh…”
“Thanks.” Vega carefully gets up once Sora pulls the girl to her feet. Regretfully, as soon as she sees the person, her thoughts start to spiral, Shit…shit…shit…oh this is not good. The girl takes in her surroundings, a hand running through her colorful highlighted blonde hair, “Uh…where am I exactly?” She then locks eyes with Vega, “You look familiar…”
Sora leans over to Vega and whispers, “Is that…?”
“Oh, I hope not…” Vega whispers urgently back before addressing the person she hopes to Selene…Diana…Lucifer; whatever deity is out there, that this is not who she thinks it is, “Uh…well I am Vega and this is my friend Sora…and…uh…you are in my room.”
“Oh well I guess I am sorry to literally drop in like this…it was not my fault though! In fact, I am not even sure what happened…” The girl responds, the last part mostly said to herself, “Anyway, my name is Enid Sinclar. Nice to meet you.” She says brightly with a smile. Seeing the stunned girls’ faces, her smile drops slightly. She focuses more Vega and sees some peculiar resemblances, “Hey are you related to a Wednesday Addams by chance?”
Vega pales and looks to Sora, who had discreetly moved to the desk to hide Thing, who had fainted as soon as he saw Enid. Her friend gave her a look that clearly stated that she was on her own, “Puer vita mea.” She swore out as she pinched the bridge of her nose, which reminded Enid of a very Wednesday like action, “Yeah about that…” Vega said as she debated her options, but decided that she was going to go for the truth, or as much of the truth as possible, “So you asked where you were…and well…yes you are in my room…”
“Yeah, I got that part…I like your décor; very…extraterrestrial and also slightly macabre.”
“Well, you are also…twenty-eight years into the future…” She turned away, not meeting the blonde in the eye. Sora had finished recovering Thing. He tapped away at the desk, which Enid just noticed, seeing her second favorite Addams; her brain malfunctioned as her mouth went dry.
Enid blinked, tearing her gaze away, almost choosing not to believe it, “Come again?”
“Wednesday Addams is my mother.” Vega finished with a wince, ignoring Thing’s warning. Her eyes were still closed, still not looking at the blonde.
“Look out!” Sora called as she rushed forward. Vega’s eyes flew open just as she saw her friend catch the past version of her mom fainting on the spot. Thing ran towards the bathroom and came back with a damp cloth as he placed it on the blonde’s head.
Vega knelt as she grabbed one of the pillows off her bed and gently moved her mom’s head off her friend’s lap, “I am going to grab the smelling salts and some hair dye.”
“For what?” Sora asks eyes wide in astonishment.
“Well, we cannot just keep her unconscious and we are going to need to hide her identity. No one can know she is here.”
“What are you talking about?! We need help to get her home.” Sora stated as she followed Vega out of the room, leaving Enid with Thing.
“We will get her home. I can fix this.” At her friend’s look, Vega said more urgently, “I can. I can fix this and get her home before anything gets messed up.”
“And what? You think your mother is not going to recognize her own spouse? The Wednesday Addams?! The independent detective consultant turned famous mystery author?!”
Vega bit her lip as she entered her parents’ room, “I know who my mother is thank you.”
“Ok just wanted to make sure we are on the same page.” Sora responds as she helps Vega gather some things, “You are going to take the fall for this right when she inevitably finds out?”
“You mean ‘if’.”
“No, I mean ‘when’. Like I said, your mother is Wednesday Addams.”
“Yeah…”
“She might have gone to Nevermore, but her reputation was felt in my pitiful normie school as well.”
“It’s not like you stopped me.” Vega said rolling her eyes as she looked at her mom’s makeup and gathered some rogue, “Therefore that makes you an accomplice.”
Sora rolled her eyes back as she found some hair dye, while Vega gathered some clothes from her mom’s side of the closet, “Was my hesitance in questioning your abilities not hint enough that what you were doing was a bad idea?”
“I plead the fifth.” Vega said after a few moments of thought, “Now that should be good enough…let’s go wake her and then we can figure out a plan from there.”
Once they were back in the room, Vega sent Thing to hide any obvious pictures of the small family with her parents together and to let her know when her mother was coming home. She then knelt and waved the salts under Enid’s nose and the girl quickly sat up with a gasp, “I’m awake!” She exclaimed looking around at her surroundings, “Nope still must be dreaming.”
“No, no you are not dreaming. Now quickly, we must get you changed and disguised before my mother gets home.” Vega explained.
Enid did not hear a word for a moment as she jumped out, startling both Vega and Sora, “Wait! Hold on! If this is not a dream, and I really am in the future! Then…” She ran to the window to see a bright and sunny afternoon sky; she stares out hopefully before immediately being saddened at the sight, “No flying cars?! What the fuck! I thought for sure we would have flying cars right now.”
Vega shared a look with Sora who just gave her a shrug, “Uhm…most people cannot drive normally, you would trust them to fly?” Vega asks in a deadpan.
Deflated for a moment at the lack of flying cars, she brightens as she registers Vega’s voice. Immediately she turns back around and gets into Vega’s now startled face, eyes bright and in wonder, “Wait! You said you are Wednesday’s daughter before?!”
Vega blinks in surprise at the closeness before looking away and biting her lip, “Yes…?” she said apprehensively.
“I cannot believe it! Wednesday had daughter?! Is she married?! To who?!”
“Enid…” Sora gently called out getting the young wolf’s attention, “It is very important we get you into a disguise and we do not have much time.”
“What? Why?”
Sora hesitated for a moment, “No one can know you are from the past. You know, time travel rules and all that…”
Enid deflated and wrung her hands together and allowed Sora to pull her into the bathroom, “Right…but that doesn’t stop Vega from answering my questions!” She said perking right up again.
“Actually, it does. There are certain rules…protocols for this kind of thing.” Vega stated as she brought in the clothes that she had gathered and a fake pair of glasses she had worn one Halloween years ago.
“Yeah ok…” Enid sat as Sora helped do her hair which she had been reassured that this was an easy-to-wash hair dye and would not mess with the colors that were already in her hair. Vega sat in front of her, helping with covering her scars…scars that her Wednesday was so proud of; that she had started to be comfortable with. There was a silence that settled over them before she eventually said, “You are right…I don’t want to upset the space time continuum.”
Vega felt a pool of guilt in her stomach, “I am sorry.”
“At least…” Enid managed out as a knot was formed in her stomach as she recalled the conversation with her own mother was fresh in her mind and the incident with her friends and her own Wednesday was playing slightly in her head, “can you maybe tell me if I am still her best friend? Please tell me I am your favorite aunt…”
Without even thinking, Vega answered, “No, that’s Yoko-” She heard a sniffle which made her pause. Looking at her now, she saw blue eyes begin to water. Oh shit! I made Mom cry! There were a few rules that were expected to be followed…and there was one major rule that was instituted for fear of death: No one…made Enid Sinclair cry. Rumor had it that the last time someone had made her cry, Vega had heard, a body had never been found.
Sora finished with Enid’s hair and quickly mentioned for the wolf to get changed while she pushed Vega out of the bathroom muttering an apology. Once they were out and the door was closed, she rounded on her friend, “What the hell was that?!”
“It was reactionary. I did not mean to make her cry.” Vega pleaded.
“How can someone like you be almost on genius level, but is also incredibly stupid?”
“I know…I know…please do not tell my mother. If she found out-”
The door to the bathroom opened just as Thing rushed into the room taping out that he saw a car pull up the driveway, “Wow…” Sora and Vega commented looking at Enid’s new look.
“How do I look?” She asks apprehensively.
“I think I see myself being a stylist.” Sora comments with approval.
“Not bad.” Vega says but then still notices that Enid’s eyes are a little watery still.
Thing aggressively starts tapping again to get their attention, but they hear a slamming of the door and, “VEGA! I am home!”
“Wednesday?” Enid breathed out as she crept towards the bedroom door.
“Wait.” Vega says stopping her suddenly. She moves around and opens the door herself to call back, “We’ll be there in a second!” Closing the door once more without waiting, she looks back towards Enid, “Ok, your name is Emma. You met us at Nevermore. Uhm…you are a Fur; and…” She looks at Sora for help.
“We ran into you while in town and we invited you to hang out for break.”
Enid looked at the three of them, before she could formulate a response there was a knock on the door before it opened, “Vega? You and Sora should be getting ready; we need to be at the main house in…an hour?” Enid felt her heart jump into her throat as both Vega and Sora stood on either side of her as Wednesday came into the room. Familiar dark piercing eyes met her own, “Another friend from Nevermore?” She questions; her voice had matured with age, and her face had sharpened. As a hopeless romantic, Enid could not help but think that Wednesday aged beautifully; and oh, did she think that whoever had the keys to the reclusive goth’s heart had better be treating her right; the wolf part however wanted to tear that person apart and howl with rage and jealously.
The girl and wolf battled each other in Enid’s mind found herself too stunned to speak as she took in the appearance of her roommate/mate; thankfully Vega jumped in, “Yeah, mother this is Emma. She was in the area so we figured she can stay with us too…if that is alright?”
Wednesday placed her hands on her hips and looked the girl over once more. She frowned deeply as if she was looking for anything out of place; the girl in front of her looked nervous. If this was anyone else, she would take this as a sign of suspicion. However, what had her stumped was that this girl looked a little familiar. She could not stand to see this girl so nervous and uncomfortable around her. It reminded her too much of her amor; and that was something she could not stand. She wanted to question it, but seeing her daughter and friend smiling hopefully at her, she shakes her head and offers a small smile to try and alleviate the girl’s nerves, choosing instead to be merciful…at least for now, “That is fine. We have plenty of room.” She answers with a softness. Yup, it was official now: Enid.Wolf.exe had now stopped working.
“Thank you, mother; uhm…you were saying about the main house?”
Straightening while giving one last easy smile to the newcomer, she responds in her normal dry tone, “Yes, your grandparents are having a little family get-together at the main house. I believe I told you this though when you invited Sora over…”
“Oh, that is right…I remember. Uhm…any chance we can maybe skip?”
“Vega…” This was now delivered with a hint of warning and a more familiar glare that Enid was used to which seemed to reboot her internal system slightly, “I will be finishing up a report. It will take me an hour. You have until then to get yourselves together and ready to go. Did I make myself a little clearer for you?”
“Yes mother.” Vega responded automatically.
“Yes ma’am.” Sora answered in the same tone.
Wednesday smirked now and turned towards the door, “Excellent.” She then paused to look at Enid…or Emma briefly, “Welcome to our home Emma.” The door snapped shut making Vega and Sora let out a sigh in relief.
“That was close.” Vega said placing a hand over her chest.
“Yeah, well what do we do now?” Sora asks looking at the young Addams.
“We do this thing at my grandparents’, maybe try and get a look in the library to see if there is anything on time portals or something; and then we try to get Enid back home afterwards.” Vega turns to look at the young version of her mother, “Enid, are you alright?”
The two girls looked at the time traveler with concern. Her face was flushed in a deep shade of red, “Oh my gosh…ever after all these years she’s still so pretty.”
Sora looks concerned, “We are screwed.”
“No. No we are not screwed.” Vega states quickly as Thing opens a window and guides Enid towards it. He picks up Vega’s notebook and tries to fan the poor teen. They watch the scene, and a sinking feeling pools in her stomach, “Ok maybe partially screwed.”
“She smiled. Wednesday Addams smiled at me…and she seemed genuinely happy.” Enid spoke out unable to fathom her roommate and this woman were the same person, “Whoever your mother married is so lucky.”
Sora looked at her with pity, “Oh this is just sad…let’s just tell her.”
Vega was face palming herself at the teen’s lament immediately snapped back, “What?! No! We stick to the plan." The two look back at the severed hand and the hopeless lovesick teen, "Everything will be fine." Maybe.
Chapter 2
Summary:
Her parents, her mom in particular, never went into much detail about growing up with her pack; always opting to brush it off. However, her mother got particularly vindictive when the Sinclair side of the family would visit for holidays. More than once, Vega had caught her mother sharpening her favorite silver knife when those visits would tend to occur. When she used to ask why, the response had been, “It never hurts to be prepared, stella mea.”

Chapter Text
Learn To Fly
Enid sat in the back seat of Wednesday’s sleek black Jaguar XF with Sora and Thing trying to not think about what was going to happen. While they were preparing to leave, Vega had grilled her about her experiences related to the family; so, Enid had explained that just before their recent return to Nevermore, Wednesday had invited her to stay the last two weeks of break with her (the reasons stating that it was more practical for travel, and the second was to have a break away from her ‘grossly incompetent’ mother)- those two weeks had been her first time meeting the mysterious Addams Family.
“It was…a breath of fresh air.” Enid had explained with a jovial smile on her face to the two teens as she helped them gather a few things, but also being mindful that Wednesday could be lurking nearby, “For the first time…I had known true acceptance in a family without any strings.”
This had caused both Sora and Vega to look at each other in slight confusion, “What do you mean?” Sora bravely had asked.
Enid hesitated slightly before shrugging, “I guess you might already know this, but I was a late bloomer when I shifted. This led to some…issues with being accepted in the pack.” They had immediately dropped it after that, seeing that the young wolf had not wanted to devel any further at that instance.
Vega internally sighed as she discreetly looked at her young mother in the back seat with her best friend.
She would just eye the weapon uneasily and get her mom, in which case that almost always ended with the knife being locked away until the visit was over and with her mom responding, “You are not going to skin my mom, mi Cuervo.”
Then her eyes would witness the cringy display of affection from the darker of the two women, “Non est habitus.” However, once they part and her mom walks away, Vega would later witness another knife being hidden away somewhere on her mother’s person and a mischievous yet dark glint would play in her eyes as she mutters, “Unum horum dierum necesse est fieri.”
Vega holds back a sigh as she focuses her gaze outside the window as they make their way down the main road before turning onto what would be mistaken for an abandon side road. Her mother had tried to keep an easy conversation going between Enid and Sora about their time in Jericho and Nevermore respectively; Sora mainly handling the baulk of the talking while Thing occasionally signed a few things out. She could tell her mother was growing slightly suspicious and kept glancing over to Enid in the backseat when she would hesitate in responding, or when her tone would hitch but thankfully did not push too much, “Vega?” Trying to school her features, she faced her mother.
“Yeah?”
“Is something the matter?” Dark eyes kept on the road, and facial features remained schooled as always, but Vega could see a slight crack in her mother’s seeming calm and indifferent façade, “You’ve been quiet.”
She looked over at Sora and Enid, each looking at her questioningly. Thing even signed asking if she was okay, “No. Nothing is the matter. Why would something be wrong?”
Wednesday gave a glance at her before staring back at the road, taking another turn before coming to a stop and placing the car in park, “Vega, I know about the argument.” She says evenly, not looking at her, “She really did want to be here to see you. You understand right?”
Vega was on alert and the atmosphere in the car cooled dramatically. Her eyes snapped to Enid in the backseat for a split second before looking back at her mother, “Mother, can we not do this now please?”
Wednesday turned to look at her and then looked at the backseat, “Alright, but we are going to discuss this. Understood?”
“Yes fine. Whatever.” She said bitterly crossing her arms as a wave of guilt settled in her stomach. She could feel Enid’s concerned gaze at the back of her head, which made her feel worse.
Enid frowned as she stared at Vega. Throughout the trip, she noticed how the girl would watch her on occasion as Wednesday had tried to strike conversation with all of them. Thankfully Sora and Thing had her back as they mainly kept it going, with her adding input here and there about classes, remembering to not give too much detail or be overly specific about things that would corollate with the past too much. Thankfully nothing about her family was asked, so she managed to try and prepare herself for the second meeting of her roommate’s family…well she supposed in this case, her former roommate’s family. Internally, she could sense her wolf was supremely unhappy. It had taken one week for her wolf to feel relief that she was safe with a true pack, that she did not feel to have to fight to belong. The second week had been spent with seeing Wednesday as a proper mate; her human half had started to recognize the brooding goth as a mate once they returned to Nevermore.
Now though, after seeing the interaction that had just happened, the unhappiness grew. A protectiveness for the teen in the passenger seat. She opened her mouth to ask what was wrong, when she felt a light elbow to her shoulder. Sora just shook her head, and Thing signed out: later. Enid wanted to protest, but seeing Sora’s expression and catching Vega’s reflection in the window, she sighed and let it go as Wednesday got the car going again.
It was not before long that things started to look familiar as the car turned up a long and narrow driveway. Enid swallowed a lump in her throat as two tall iron gates proudly presented themselves. As the car made its way towards them, they opened on their own accord, proudly letting the car through. Just like on her first visit, Enid felt amazed at seeing the home- a Mansard style mansion. Her breath leaves her as the car finished making its approach as Wednesday pulled around to the entrance, “Welcome to the Addams Family home.” Wednesday says formally to them as she turns the ignition off and exits the car.
“Let’s do this.” Vega breathes out just low enough for Thing, Sora, and Enid to catch as she too leaves the safety of the vehicle.
Sora gives Enid a look as she takes Thing with her. Enid just stares at the ornate 19th century looming in front of her for a minute or two longer before nodding to herself, “You got this.” She says determined to make a good…second impression.
Vega approached her, “It will be ok. You will do fine.”
Wednesday approached the door and just like the first time, Enid saw her roll her shoulders and give them a bored yet slightly expressionless look, “There is nothing to fear from the family…so long as you do not do anything to harm us with intent.” Then staring at Enid with a familiar gaze of mischief and appraisal she adds, “You are welcome to try though.”
Enid felt herself shrink as the long dark-haired woman turned her back, the long single braid cascading down her back. The door bell rope was pulled and a shrill could be heard. The large ornate dark wooden door opened, “Lurch.” Wednesday greeted as Thing slipped passed them and into the house.
The butler groaned, and before he could wave them in, there was a dual chorus of, “Wednesday!” Followed by a booming male voice, “Nuestra madre víbora regresa.”
They watched as Wednesday was reluctantly engulfed into the arms of her parents. Enid’s eyes widened slightly seeing this development. Sure, the woman did not look pleased, but the softening of her eyes and a slight upturn of her lips suggested that she was more amused than annoyed…this was just unbelievable. Enid was honestly waiting for Wednesday to whip out a knife and start brandishing it. Eventually they pulled away and turned their attention to the teens, “Vega! Come nuestra estrella!” Vega was swiftly wrapped up in a hug from Gomez and Morticia.
“Greetings grandmother. Grandfather.” Enid stifled a laugh recognizing the familiar discomfort. She was starting to realize how much she resembled Wednesday in mannerisms. They let go and turned their attention to Sora who got much of the same greeting before turning their attention on her.
“Another friend of Vega’s?” Gomez asked with a smile.
“Yes…sir…” Enid managed out, “I’m Emma. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“Oh, how wonderful to meet you, dear!” He said joyfully, “Tricia! Look at her! So bright!”
Morticia smiled knowingly, “I can see that dear. Such brightness, almost like the sun.” She momentarily turns to Wednesday who was looking at them perplexed, “My dear, your brothers were asking for you in the parlor, as was young Briar.”
Wednesday raised a brow but looked at the teens and her parents before nodding and entering the mansion with her usual grace. The elder Addams matriarch turned to them and said to her husband, “Darling, you must show her the trains, don’t you think?”
The man started beaming once more, “Ah yes! It’s necessary for any guest in our home to see!” He pulled Enid close to him as he pulls her away from the two teens. She hesitant glances over her shoulder and sees their panic and Morticia’s calm and amused expression before focusing back on Gomez as he continued the same speech she had gotten when she first arrived, “I built the trains myself you see…”
“Maybe we should go with them grandmother.” Vega said aiming to follow them, “Come on Sora!”
“Freeze.” Morticia said with amusement causing both girls to stop, not yet looking at them and instead at the fading outlines of her husband and the light brunette. Once they disappeared to the other side of the mansion, she turned to them giving them a knowing smile, “A little over twenty years ago, my nuage d’orage sombre brought home a beautiful, vibrant, young werewolf.”
She started to walk towards the cemetery, which made Sora slightly uncomfortable, but having been here before with Vega, the Addams assured her that there was a barrier in place that prevented the spirits from appearing while she was on the grounds. The secret psychic had tried to assure them that she was alright, but they insisted that she be comfortable in their home and that the spirits understood and held no malice towards her, “We could all see the pain she had no right to hold. Such a…formidable loup vicieux, ta mère était…et elle est toujours mon étoile.”
They kept following the elder Addams as she seemed to glide across the area, her hand occasionally grazing along the stones of the ancestors. Soon, they came to the pets’ area of the cemetery. Both Vega and Sora looked at one another. Much like Wednesday, Vega had a gift for picking up languages- particularly Spanish and French. Latin was a little more challenging, but she did know some of the more common sayings. Sora understood some Spanish, and knew minimal French, however they understood what Morticia was not outwardly saying, “Did you really think I would not recognize my daughter-in-law?” They stopped in front of a scorpion shaped headstone. The stone itself was ebony in color; however, it glistened in the daylight, making the name prominent: Nero. A single black rose lay on the stone in remembrance, clearly frozen in time.
Now the woman looked at them waiting for a response, a raised brow as if daring them to challenge her words, “How did you know?” Sora was the one who bravely asked.
“Sora! She could have been bluffing.” Vega said although she doubted her words as soon as they were formed thoughts in her head.
“Oh, my dear, I saw this coming the moment that girl stepped foot on our property a little over twenty years ago.” Turning, the Dove faced the headstone, “Mind you, what I saw was brief. However, that did not matter to me. The only thing that really mattered was that I saw my daughter was happy. That is what all parents desire in their life is to know their children are happy and are at peace in their lives.” Delicate pale fingers traced the name on the stone, “A peace that I always wished for my daughter.” This was said silently, but Vega heard it crystal clear.
Sora looked at her friend and noticed the underlying guilt, “If you saw this, can you help us get her home?” Then asked as an afterthought, “And maybe keep this between us?”
Morticia chuckled lightly, “A secret this big always comes out eventually, however I have kept this to myself all these years, so I suppose I can continue to keep this. It will not be by my hand that what you did will come to light.”
“How do you know I had anything to-” Vega started to ask challengingly.
“You are my daughter’s daughter; and you are also your mom’s daughter. Wednesday was gifted in a lot of things-which for the most part you inherited; magic was not one of those things my little star.” She responded in amusement, “I can recall many an evening when Wednesday would tutor Enid in the kitchen over the school breaks to try and assist her in the classes which called for magical competence.”
Vega let out a huff of indignation as Sora hid a smirk, “I guess that did not go so well.” The psychic responded.
“It was never a dull moment over the breaks;” Seeing the look of needing the answer clarified, the elder continued, “The mansion was condemned quite a few times after those lessons, and in those instances, it placed us in a fruitful position to utilize some of the vacation homes for periods of time.” She smiled wistfully, “Such wonderful memories. Le chaos joyeux causé par cette charmante fille.”
Sora nudged the half-werewolf and gave her a look. Vega shifted her position and sighed, “Yes. I screwed up. I am not sure how I did it, but I did. I was…just trying to see mom. To see if she was alright…and when I said the spell or drew the window…whatever…she fell through and landed on top of me.” Then she relaxed and looked at her grandmother almost pleading, “Please help me get her home so she can be with mother and we can assure that the timeline hasn’t been screwed up so badly that I end up not existing.”
Cool pale hands caress her face, and she is looking into the dark eyes full of wisdom, “Fear not. Everything is as it should be. I may not have seen the sorrow that brought her here, or what made you do the spell to begin with; but I can say and mean that everything works out. Now assuming you cleaned the space you worked in, we should be able to set something up here and get her home. Did you remember to close the portal?”
“Yes, we cleaned everything before mother got home.” Vega looked at Sora for confirmation.
The psychic nodded, “Yes, we did.”
Clapping her hands, Morticia looked at the girls, “Wonderful. Now I assume you have Thing patrolling the library to see about a counter spell, yes?” the girls nodded, “Excellent. Now we go back up to the house and wait. I am sure he knows what he is looking for, but I have a feeling that once things are resolved it should work itself out. Come along.”
She goes to lead them back up to the house, when Vega suddenly says, “When what resolves?”
“Oh well whatever intention you and she had when the spell was initially cast of course.” The teens shared a look, and sensing the confusion, she looks back at them, “The intention of the spell you sought after. Surely you clearly communicated what you wanted or what your desire outcome was?”
Vega was about ready to respond with an: of course I did! But she stopped herself and really thought about it which led her the horrifying realization, “No…I didn’t…at least not consciously.”
“And there is but one of the many qualities you share with your mom.” Morticia confirms brightly, not seemingly worried about the predicament, “Well no matter, we shall find the correct spell and get her home safe and sound. Come along dears before my daughter sends the hell hounds for us.”
Vega sighs and follows her grandmother wondering how much harder this could possibly get; but as they near the house, she sees her mother standing outside on the porch with her arms crossed, staring directly at her. She mentally slaps herself while making a mental note to stop asking rhetorical questions.
Notes:
So, I based this chapter off the second part of the comic. As you can see I split the comic into two parts. I just felt like it would add some build up and explore things a little more. Here is the link to the comic. Once again, if you had not seen this comic, I 15/10 recommend you look at it and her other comics.

Chapter 3
Summary:
Vega could feel her own eyes water slightly, but she refused to let her tears fall as she turns to look away to hide her face. She could not imagine her parents not being together. A world like that surely could not exist, “You never did answer my question.” Enid said startling her out of that depressing spiral. Giving her a questioning look, the werewolf asks, “Are Wednesday and I still close here?”
Notes:

Hook me up a new revolution

Chapter Text
Learn To Fly
“Mother.” Wednesday greeted as she watched them approach the house for a moment before exiting the building.
“You did not have to wait for us.” Morticia replies gently with a soft yet almost knowing smile.
The girls remained silent and watched the two women for a moment before Vega was brave enough to speak up, “Where are Emma and Grandfather?”
Wednesday’s dark eyes look at her, “Backyard. Mother, would you mind taking Sora to them? I would like to talk to my daughter.”
Vega visibly gulped and looked to her grandmother and Sora for help. Morticia simply smiled and complied, leading Sora away. The teen watched them go for a moment before sending up a silent prayer to whatever deity existed that this would not be painful for her, “Vega?” Internally she cringed at the tone but nevertheless, turned and faced her mother, “Walk with me?”
Vega followed behind her. They took the path towards a greenhouse that was separate from the main mansion where Morticia kept the more carnivorous and other dangerous plants. This one out here was made in part for a certain someone else in the family, and more so for the less deadly variety of flora. Wednesday opened the door and allowed Vega to pass her, “If you are going to torture me, shouldn’t we have gone into grandmother’s greenhouse?”
“If I was going to torture you, I would have had something more creative in mind.” Wednesday responded lightly as she looked at the one side of the area that was more vibrant in color as well as healthy looking, “Perhaps introduced you to some fun toys that haven’t seen the light of day in decades in a secluded part of the family dungeon where no one would hear you scream.”
Vega nodded as she moved away from her mother, “Sounds delightful.” Even as she said it, she felt like it was not so much of an empty threat. She could only imagine what those ‘toys’ would be; then again, the need to imagine might become more of a reality if her mother ever found out what exactly she had done.
Wednesday looked at her with a raised brow. In this moment, she could see her wife coming through. Sure, people think all the time that her daughter took after her the most; but to her in most cases, she had taken after the bright sun in her life. Taking a deep breath, she says more seriously, “In actuality Vega, in this case I am more or less torturing myself here.” She chooses this moment to roam the area, gently touching the colorful flowers that had been cared for over the years by the gentle and delicate hands of her wife when they would frequent the mansion on the weekends when they were both together, not having the room in their current residence.
Vega looks at the dark woman with her own raised brow as she feels on a high alert, “What are you talking about?”
Wednesday kept her face expressionless as she avoids looking at her daughter, trying to contemplate the words she wishes to express. Her eyes roam over the delicate flowers and came across one that had not yet bloomed into its full potential. She allows her long fingers to ghost over the semi-closed flower and says after a long moment, “When you were in your first few months, your mom and I had hit a little bit of an emotional rough patch one evening.”
The semi-dark teen cocked her head in confusion, which the Raven noticed out of her peripheral vision. Internally she sighed wistfully at how much of an influence her wolf had on their daughter, “Really?”
“Oh yes; not by our own faults. Never will you hear me blame your mom for anything. Your…mangy slobbering cur of a grandma on the other hand…” This trailed off with a scathing tone and a razor-sharp glare to match, “well I will let her tell you more about that if she is so inclined. The point I am making is who do you normally go to for emotional or personal matters?”
“Mom…” Vega breathed out with defeat as she realized where this was headed.
“Exactly. When you need something physically handled or perhaps help with anything else that does not involve emotions?”
“You.”
Wednesday now turns to look at her, still expressionless; but when Vega looks at her, she does recognize a softness in her gaze, “See my own torture here?” Without waiting for a response, she says, “Here is how we are going to do this: I am going to talk to you about two things. You are going to listen. When I ask for a response, you give it. Do I make myself clear?”
Vega straightens her posture, her wolf on alert again at being addressed in such a fashion; although she cannot get a read if she is in trouble or going to be in trouble, “Yes mother.”
“Good. Now then, back in the car. I started to tell you that I knew about the argument; and no nothing specific was said. All I was told was that you had gotten upset that she could not be here this week to see you due to some work issues.” Wednesday moved away from the plants and approached her daughter. Despite nearing to be equal in height, the overwhelming presence that her mother was giving off, made Vega feel like a small child again, “By your attitude, and the way your mom was on the phone, I can hazard a guess that the phone call you had went rather poorly. Am I on the right path?”
Wednesday stepped away now to give the girl room to breathe and collect her own thoughts. Instead, she walked to the other side of the greenhouse to see how the plants were fairing. This side was often used in potions that were used for the family (and for certain home cooked recipes as well), “Yes, I reacted poorly to hearing the news; and I have been beating myself up ever since.”
“And yet in the two days you have been home, you have yet to call and express your remorse for your reaction?” Again, Wednesday did not look at her, her tone kept clipped and not expressing anything else other than intrigued.
Vega hesitated and risked glancing behind her, feeling her mother’s presence and inner wolf giving her a slight warning, “No, I have not. I…would rather do it in person rather than over the phone.”
The older goth can tell there was something holding her daughter back from saying anything more on the subject, her disposition as open as book when it came to emotions and thoughts. She waited patiently for the teen to say anything more, or explain what else has been going through her mind; but seeing that no more to the tale would be revealed now, she sighs, “Very well. I can tell you are remorseful and we will not bring it up again so long as you apologize and make the appropriate amends to your mom as soon as she gets back.” Wednesday then firmly added, “However I will ask of you for next time, consider really thinking about your words before you utilize them as weapons wielded in anger; especially against a member of this family. Otherwise, I will not be so forgiving. Do I make myself perfectly clear?”
Vega let herself relax for a moment as the words ring in her head, thankful for the mercy being shown to her, “Yes mother.”
“Excellent first matter dropped. Second matter, upon getting out of my car, I sensed something was amiss.” At this, Wednesday saw Vega stiffen in her peripheral; but pretending to not notice, she maneuvers once more around the greenhouse, inspecting each plant once more, before finally coming full circle to give Vega her full attention, “When I entered the house after alerting you I was home, I noticed that several of our family pictures were taken down and hidden in my office. Care to explain meis tenebris paulo stella?”
Vega let out a nervous laugh and tried to brush it off, “I am not sure…maybe Thing was trying something out? I couldn’t say exactly. Sora and I went out and that is how we met up with Emma. I guess we were just so excited to hang out that we failed to notice anything was amiss.”
Wednesday now allowed herself to smirk as she looked at the clear tells of the lie- the very same tales that Enid would use when she wanted to hide something from her. Like mom, like daughter; the Raven mused to herself, “Te daré una oportunidad más para decir la verdad.”
Vega weighed her options and came to a decision, one she hoped she would not regret, “Honest. I really do not know what happened.”
Wednesday’s dark eyes bore into the ones that resembled her own; she also a deep flash of teal appear as well before she saw it fade and her daughter look away in submission. She huffed and turned away towards the door holding it open for her daughter to exit, “Everyone is in the backyard by the lake.” She says simply, noticing Vega’s uncertainty about the sudden drop in the conversation. Wednesday waves her through the door to the freedom of the outside. Just as she exits, Wednesday make one last comment on the matter, “Memor esto huius temporis, occasionem prodiendi tibi dedi.”
Vega felt herself stiffen as she nodded, she could feel her mother’s eyes boring into her back as she was given a head start to the backyard; but what was worse? The warning tone that had been used, knowing that was the moment that she should have come forward, and yet she allowed the opportunity to slip by.
Approaching the backyard, she was greeted by the sight of chaos. Her young cousins were running around playing games with both Sora and Enid. She watched with a little smile as the tension from the greenhouse diminished slightly. She felt her mother’s dark presence approach behind her, just to walk past her with only a knowing glance, “Vega!” She had turned to see Sora approaching while Enid followed closely behind, “You alright?” The psychic asks.
“Oh yeah. Everything is fine. She suspects a little something but doesn’t know what, so I think we are good.” Vega waved her off, “Are you?” She asks looking at Enid quickly trying to gage the other girl’s demeanor.
“Yeah. Peachy.” Ok that was a lie, Vega thinks as she watches Enid laugh her off nervously and makes eerie similar movements that slightly mimic her own, “The train thing was just as intense as when I first saw it, and wow your family plays some dangerous games.”
“Yeah, they can be intense.” Sora agrees with a nervous smile, “But Thing did find a book that can maybe help us. He put it in the car so we can look at it when we get back to your house.”
“Okay cool. So, we should be good.” She says as one of her cousins approach them and begs them to come play.
The girls join in a chaotic game of freeze tag. Taking a moment of reprieve after having been tagged, Vega observes her mom. She can tell the young wolf is having fun and trying to enjoy herself; but she finds her heart breaking slightly. Wishing her own mom was here, she finds herself stepping away for a moment and soon, the other two join her once they are winded and red in the face from the exertion. There was a groan that came from behind them, making them jump for a moment. Turning they see it is just Lurch with a tray of glasses filled with lemonade.
Thanking the butler, they clink their glasses together. Taking a sip, they hear two male voices approaching, “Vega sure is making a lot of new friends recently.”
“Mm…you seem familiar though.” Came another voice as the girls turn to see Pugsly and Pubert Addams standing in front of them, “Do I know you?”
Not sure what to say in the moment, Vega and Sora pulled Enid away from them, “Nope! She’s never been to Jersey before! We are gonna go now!” Enid just smiles as she glances over her shoulder, Pubert looking at her with suspicion that was eerily like Wednesday’s and Pugley just waving with a smile as bright as his father’s. All she could think about was how fast they grow up.
It was not before long that the three girls are once again separated by the chaos as the afternoon wore on. Enid found herself becoming slightly melancholier the longer she endured the love and attention that the Addams family was giving her. It all started becoming too much for the extroverted werewolf that she found herself slipping away like a ghost and taking a path that Wednesday had shown her to the other side of the lake.
As she watches the family that she had hoped to adopt her, she could feel the tears starting to pool. Her heart was aching with longing and she could not help but feel that just seeing this…that being here, was her own personal realm of Hell. That Wednesday really did kill her and maybe she had somehow committed an unknown sin and this was her torture in the afterlife. What she could not understand though was, why? Why was she being tortured with this beautiful scene? Why was she made to feel like this? To know that she was to not be a part of this future made her want to scream in agony.
There is a sudden softness that overcomes her senses as she hears the crunching of grass approaching her from the side, “Are…are you okay?” She hears Vega ask her as she slowly continues her approach.
From Vega’s perspective, she had watched her mom wander off on her own. Sensing that the young teen wanted a breather from the chaos of the family, she had let her go. She had watched as she made her way to the other side of the lake. However, the more she had watched on, the more agitated her wolf had gotten. It was like it knew that her mom was hurting and it was begging her to go follow to help. Giving into her instincts after a good twenty minutes, she had slunk away and took the same route.
Seeing her mom’s form though as she sat on the grass near the end of the lake, she knew it was a stupid question she had asked. She appeared small, her knees bent in as if she was trying to curl into herself, make herself disappear or to try and fit into the scene without taking up too much room. It unnerved her considering she was used to her mom being the brightest in the room at an Addams Family Gathering.
“I am fine. Just…taking it all in, I guess.” Her voice was soft, wistful as she watched the scene unfold in front of her. Wednesday was playing, and bonding with the faceless girl; she had found out that her name was Briar and she was Pugsley’s daughter and that Wednesday was her favorite in the family. It was a sight that she could have never imagined happening and she voiced that thought when she sensed Vega taking a seat next to her; almost hesitantly as if she had been unsure she was invited into her space, “I just can’t believe that this is gonna be Wednesday’s future, you know? I would have never have imagined her willingly spending time with family. Her own family.”
Vega looked at her younger mom with a slight head tilt in confusion before looking at her mother picking up her young cousin and swung her around before releasing the child who just continued to pull on her skirt to lead her somewhere, “Mother cares about…our family. Despite her outward appearance, she really does care deep down. Will do anything for them really. I am sure you know that.” Not getting a response, she continues slowly, “From my understanding, she was very guarded when she was younger…but-” Vega paused and thought about her words very carefully, fully aware that she had Enid’s full attention on her now, “when she met…her spouse…those guards slowly fell and she allowed herself to be comfortable enough to learn and show emotions more.”
Enid nodded and offered a soft, yet watery smile before looking away and finding Wednesday again in the family crowd. The two sat in silence, watching the scene before them. Vega looks away and starts to play with the grass next to her, “Grandmother knows that you are from the past.” She says carefully, looking to the side to gage Enid’s reaction, which surprisingly is not much, “She says that while we could possibly get you home; the main way would be to wait until the intention of the spell wears off.”
“Intention?” Enid questioned, still distracted by the goth that unknowingly held her heart captive as her wolf whined internally with longing to be next to her, “Sounds like a familiar concept; though to be honest, magic is not my forte.”
Vega huffed out a laugh to herself and allowed a smile to grace her lips as she paraphrased the first lesson she had learned with her mother, “It is the driving force behind any magical practice; in short terms it is less likely to be effective without something clear from the practitioner.”
Enid nodded as she listened to Vega. The wolf inside let out a long internal howl at the similarity of her introverted roommate, “So your portal thing brought me here. Was that your intention?”
“Physically? No. Unconsciously? Maybe.” Vega admitted feeling embarrassed at her failure, and feeling ashamed at how hurt the vibrant wolf looked, “Although I do have to wonder; the spell brought you to me, the you from the time in which you reside. If you do not mind the…intrusion…what happened when you were brough here?”
Enid was silent for a moment and Vega thought she was not going to get an answer; but softly Enid spoke up as she continued to watch Wednesday with a sense of longing, “I had gotten a phone call from my mom during the school day. It had never happened before, normally we talk every other weekend, so I thought it was an emergency. I answered.” She closed her eyes and shook her head, “She told me she had a meeting with the pack council and she had gotten permission to try to find me a suitable mate since I had finally wolfed out.”
“What?!” Vega breathed out never having heard this story before now. She felt her own wolf flare in righteous fury at this. Enid looked at her, eyes slightly wide in shock at this and Vega knew her eyes had briefly changed to a vibrant glowing teal color. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath to try and calm herself, “Sorry. You were saying?”
Enid slowly blinked at her, still pondering her reaction however she brushed it off, “Yeah. I did not even respond. I hung up the phone and went to lunch, trying to pretend everything was fine. Well, I had failed spectacularly.” She thought about how to explain how she felt in the moment before continuing, “Due to wolfing out so late, I am still trying to control my wolf and the additional instincts it brings. Seeing that my wolf just newly recognized Wednesday as my mate, she saw my mom’s words as a threat of being separated.”
Shame colored her face now, and Vega ignored the itch to reach out and comfort the girl next to her, “We were talking and joking around. It was something innocent that I would have brushed off normally; it should not have been a big deal.” Vega waited patiently as Enid leaned back and took a deep breath looking at the sky, “Eugene nudged Wednesday’s shoulder over something she had said, and I reacted badly.”
She leaned back forward and buried her head back in her arms, “I…well I guess my wolf…I do not fucking know anymore…but I manhandled Wednesday away from him and then pinned him down to the table. It was only for a minute, but once I realized what had happened, I ran back to the room to hide like a coward.”
Vega looked at her sadly, “It was an accident. You were running high on emotion. I am sure mother and your friends would have understood.”
Enid shook her head and looked back up at her, “I was scared. I never lost control like that. But between my mom’s words ringing in my head nonstop and seeing Wednesday’s face, I thought for sure she will kill me, or worse…kick me out of her life.” Taking a shaking breath and trying to hold back tears, she says, “Which got me thinking about the future, wanting to try to imagine her happy; maybe us being happy.” Then smiling bitterly, she says, “Well at least I know she is happy…”
There was a pleading look in her eyes, and Vega could see the reason why her mother always had a hard time saying no to the wolf. Although she supposes this is where she gets her own ‘puppy eyes’ from; and now she knows why it sucks to be on the receiving end of it, “Yes.” She answers, but then adds, “Unbearably so.” It was the closest she came into confirming who the young teen was to her.
It was like a weight was taken off Enid’s shoulders. She allowed some more tears to fall as she breathed out a sigh of relief, “That’s a relief. If I’m at least still in her life then that’s fine. Even if…” A mournful howl resonated in her. It is as if she could see her wolf hanging its head in mourning acceptance of its loss. However, Enid snapped herself out of her own depression as she remembered who it was, she was talking to, “I’m so sorry!” She covers her face trying to clean it without messing up her make up that they had applied earlier, “This must be so weird, finding out that your Auntie Enid was in love with your mom! I am really sorry…” then quieter and less panicked, she adds, “You probably wouldn’t wanna see the me you know anymore after this.”
Vega bites her lip in partial amusement at the embarrassment, but also sadness. She wishes she could tell Enid who she really was to her, but she did not want to risk messing up anything that could lead to her not existing; she weighs her options and decides that she could offer Enid some hope, “On the contrary; I looked forward to seeing you today. The you I know, I mean.”
At the tone, Enid looks at the teen waiting patiently. Much like how Wednesday would gather her thoughts, she could see the gears turning in Vega’s head as she contemplated her words. There was silence between them with the echoing laughter of the family in the slight distance before Vega spoke again, “You had been whining recently about not being able to see me because of Nevermore.”
“That’s so clingy…but that sounds just like me. Sorry about that.” Enid said trying to lighten the mood with a sheepish smile.
Vega shook her head, giving her own self-deprecating smile, “You were supposed to be here with us, however just before I left school to come home for the week break, you had said you were not going to be able to see me this week. Something had happened at work and they needed you. I got upset, and I said some hurtful things to you.” She shook her head again, “I just missed you as well after all and I was hoping to spend some time with you.”
Still not looking at Enid, she heaves a sigh and confesses, “Truth is, you’re here because of me. I suck at magic; in fact, there is a rule in the house that I am not supposed to do magic without mother around. I made the portal intending to see the you I know to make sure you are okay.”
“Why not just call me? Cell phones are still a thing, right?” Enid asked once more trying to lighten the mood; while also focusing on that at least she had an answer to how she possibly got here to begin with.
Vega now laughed, “Yeah, they are. Honestly, we are probably not as advanced in technology as you would hope in twenty years.” Sobering up though, Vega takes a deep breath and continues, “For the record Sora and Thing mentioned that I should have just called and talked to you before I did the spell. However, when you are working, you don’t always keep your phone on your person…but a greater part of it? I was a coward. The things I said? Well, I intended them to hurt. I am so sorry. I really did not mean it.”
She looks out across the lake, trying to take in the peace of it, “I guess when I made the portal and did the spell, I allowed my mind to wander a little bit and got to thinking about you being a teenager or something along those lines that would perhaps maybe allow me to hang out with you without adult responsibilities.” Then reluctantly, she adds, “I understand if you never forgive me; but even if you don’t, I am glad you’re here. Even if you’re not exactly what I expected.”
Enid was watching her closely, but she ended up huffing and smiling, “Hey Vega?” She calls out softly, making the girl look at her questioningly, “Wanna hug?”
She sees the hopeful smile and the bright eyes looking at her with forgiveness, and love. A flash of her mom comes to her giving her that same look. She feels her face warm up and she turns away and crosses her arms, “That’s completely unnecessary!” Although for her, the ball of guilt lessened significantly and a sense of peace and relief overcomes her as her own inner wolf relaxes and is not so on edge anymore.
Enid leans over, undeterred by the teen’s actions and pulls her into a sideways hug anyway. Unsurprisingly, the darker teen does not put up a fight, “Aw c’mon! Don’t be shy!” Then softly she says, “I understand being upset and saying things you don’t mean. I am sure I am beating myself up for letting you down and that hurts more than any words you could have said. I am sorry I am not here for you; but you know something that would help? Next time you see the me you know…just run up and give me a nice big hug. I’m sure I’d love it.”
Vega feels herself relaxing into the embrace as she thinks over Enid’s words. Perhaps maybe she will take this advice, because secretly she might just love it too.
Off in the distance, out of earshot, Wednesday looks up from playing with her niece as the girl runs off. She notices the embrace, “Well that is odd.” She says slowly, narrowing her dark eyes at her daughter and the semi-bright girl next to her.
“What’s odd Mrs. Addams?” Sora asks, having heard the Raven speak.
Wednesday tilts her head in the direction, “Vega does not usually let people get so close to her.”
Looking at the direction her friend’s mother is watching, Sora smiles brightly, “Aw! That’s so cute!”
Wednesday gives the girl a confused glance before looking back at the duo, “Are you not going to go over there?”
“And ruin the moment? No way!”
Struck momentarily speechless, Wednesday looks at the teens for a second before turning back to the teen that was with her. She breathes deeply and closes her eyes, before opening them again and looking back at the other psychic, “So you’re giving up? Just like that?”
Sora’s happy expression deflates before giving her friend’s mother a blank look, “Eh…what?”
“What?” Wednesday questioned back.
“What is it that you meant by that?” Sora questioned again.
Wednesday looks back at her before scoffing, “You know what? Forget it. This is why I am not in charge of emotional and personal problems in this damn family.” Sora watches with further confusion as the older woman storms away.
“I am so confused.” Sora says to no one in particular as she keeps wondering that that moment had been about.

BTW it is hinted that Sora and Vega would become more (Barbblaz calls the ship SkyWolf) and Wednesday is suspicious of Sora's intentions with Vega, referring to this comic here in particular:

Chapter 4
Summary:
The stories the teen would hear about her mother’s death stare was something of legend. Something she thought was an exaggeration at best; but now…oh she felt like her soul was leaving her body in this moment. This was it, this was how she was going to die.

Chapter Text
It takes quite a lot for something to shock Wednesday Friday Addams. Some would say it was damn near impossible; and on any normal occasion, they would be correct.
She prided herself on being in control of her emotions. Never really letting slip what she was thinking or feeling in any given situation. Never raising her voice, always keeping a disguised calm, and only eliciting just enough emotion to show what she was trying to convey. On one hand, she could count the number of times over the years that she ever truly lost her composure. Hell, they had to rework the Nevermore handbook section about mates/paramours to include the Addams family in that section. However, that was a story for another day; going back to the terms of emotional control; that, of course, all changed when she met her wife then-roommate at Nevermore.
Enid had the devastating habit of breaking down the barriers of her incredibly thick walls that she had built over the years since Nero’s passing. It was not easy though, even for the vibrant werewolf to be allowed in; even in the present sometimes Wednesday fell on old habits to keep things to herself when something became too difficult-but overall, steadily through the years, each little brick came apart and just for the close family were they allowed to see through her iron tight mask of indifference.
Yes, she took pride in being stoic and indifferent. Today though, the mask broke, “ENID?!” Her tone betraying her shock that she was sure that matched her face. Behind her, she could sense her family watching on, but she could not bring herself to care about them seeing her vulnerable like this. All she had eyes for was the sheepish teenage version of her wife in front of her.
Her heart clenched at the familiar nervous smile she was radiating, clutching the pair of glasses in her hand like it was a lifesaver, dripping wet from being dragged into the lake by Socrates-the giant octopus, her hair in its multi-colored glory that Wednesday had not seen in more than a few years now. Her face…her skin, all covered in scars- some from the damned Hyde, and others from her adventures being a formidable werewolf in her current early years. This version of her wife let out a nervous laugh which all but rebooted Wednesday’s brain, “Yeah…uhm…hi!” Even her voice was music to Wednesday’s ears; and yet she struggled to respond as she was trying to figure out what in the holy hell was going on and how this could have happened, “Really sorry for lying about who I really am…”
The dark Raven implored herself to say something. Anything to ease the young teen in front of her. However, she could not bring herself to find the words that were needed. Enid must have sensed this, because she quickly added, “Vega was worried about messing with the timeline and stuff, and that sounded pretty bad, so I-”
Another thing Wednesday had prided herself on, was never losing her temper to the younger children in the family-including her daughter. Early on, when they were discussing offspring, they had discussed their insecurities with being parents. For Wednesday- it was demonstrating that it was ok to be vulnerable as well as being emotionally available to the young child; while for Enid it was the worry of turning into her mother with placing pressure of the unrealistic expectations that had once drowned her in her own upbringing. Of course, now looking back, these were foolish fears to worry about, but it had always been in the back of their mind. Well, the Raven internally surmised, if her pride was being desecrated and going to Hell today, might as well make a thorough show out of it.
Turning slowly with murderous intent that she had not felt in years, her family parted like the Red Sea, exposing the half-wolf teen. She set her dark gaze on her offspring, who was cowardly hiding behind her friend, “What. Did. You. DO?”
Sora pushed Vega forward just to try to escape the Raven’s wrath, “It was an accident!” Came the frantic response.
Wednesday was fuming, “I gave you a chance to tell me the truth. I told you that I knew something else was wrong, and I gave you a choice. You clearly chose wrong, so I ask again, what did you do?”
“I opened a magic portal just to-”
A chilling darkness descended now as Wednesday’s gaze stayed locked on Vega, who tried to cower close to Sora, but the other teen kept pushing her back towards her mother. The stories the teen would hear about her mother’s death stare was something of legend. Something she thought was an exaggeration at best; but now…oh she felt like her soul was leaving her body in this moment. This was it, this was how she was going to die, “You know the rules! You are not supposed to do any kind of spell work without me being there! How could you be so reckless and irresponsible?!”
Thing, who was resting on Sora’s shoulder, tapped something which made Wednesday snap her gaze to the two innocent bystanders, “I will deal with you later.” She all but growled out, causing Sora to flinch back and nudge the severed appendage to be silent.
When she turned her attention back on Vega and ready to unleash a fury of words, she felt a calming presence step into her space with a gentle hand on her shoulder, “No, please do not be mad at her. It really was just an accident. Something about intention with the spell or whatever. I am not good at spell work either if you can remember.” Enid let out a nervous chuckle at this. Again, Wednesday felt her heart clench at her soothing tone and the unease it held. She was fighting every instinct to not bring the wolf into her arms, “We already found a way for me to get back.”
Well, that was something, Wednesday could not help but think with some sense of relief, “This was a bit of a mess, but in the end, I am glad I got sent here and saw you so happy, Wednesday.” Wait, no something was not right. She still was not looking directly at the vibrant teen fully, and yet she could see unshed tears forming. Why was she crying? Enid should not be crying, “I don’t know who you ended up marrying, but I hope you continue to be happy with whoever it may be.”
Oh. Oh no. This would not stand in the slightest. She turned sharply now; Vega being spared her wrath for the time being to face the young wolf who took a surprised step back. For as long as Wednesday had been her roommate, Enid never saw such a furious display of emotion. She felt all the air leave her lungs as the haunting dark eyes bore into hers. They held a dark hellfire of passion, and she honestly did not know what to do, but if her body was betraying her just by this stare, then the tone of voice she used made her body feel completely totaled, “You. Don’t. Know? ‘Whoever it may be?’ WHO ELSE WOULD IT BE BUT YOU?!”
For the second time that day, Enid.wolf.exe had stopped working as she continued to stare into the furious gaze of the older woman in front of her. In her mind’s eye, she could briefly see her roommate in a shadow of the woman, and that made her heart sing with joy and the inner wolf let out a howl of victory, and yet despite this small sliver of hope that she did not mishear the confession, she was almost afraid to believe it. She felt her mouth open as if to respond to the demanded question, but her words failed her. That did not matter though, because Vega stepped in and bravely pulled Wednesday back away from her, “Mother! What in the world are you doing?!”
Wednesday yanked her arm free and growled dangerously, “Rectifying a clear misunderstanding.”
“This is not the time for your passionate declarations of love, Mother! What if I cease to exist because of this?!”
“And you think convincing my wife that I am set to marry someone else will ensure you are born?!” Wednesday demanded her fury on full display, “Te has despedido de tus sentidos?”
“Well, no, but the thought was there…”
“You must have! I would not have done a fertility spell with just anyone or feel the guilt of watching them go through nine months agony otherwise.”
“Mother!” Vega yelled back scandalized at the thought.
The rest of the family was watching with some shock and amusement at the display. Enid on the other hand found her voice and tried to interrupt, “W-w-wait…! Hold up! Can we just…” Words were still a struggle to get out as Wednesday and Vega glared at one another, “Can we talk about this for a quick second?”
The two ignored her as they continued to glare at one another. When it looked like Wednesday was about to say something, she was suddenly interrupted by a boisterous voice, “There you all are!” And suddenly another woman ran over and grabbed both Wednesday and Vega in a hug. Enid felt her mouth go dry at this clear violation of Wednesday’s personal space, “My girls! Oh, I missed you so much!”
Vega was mercifully let go as she had continued to be under the deadly gaze of the psychic, but getting over her shock, she asks, “Mom?! I thought you couldn’t get here until next week…”
Wait…mom? Enid thought to herself as her brain now once more rebooted itself just as she saw this incredibly short haired woman wrap her arms once more around Wednesday and pulled her in close. Wednesday kept her expressionless mask on, but Enid could see just enough affection to allow it to happen, “We got everything done earlier than expected, so I rushed to get to my beautiful wife and daughter.” She answered as she ended the conversation with a large kiss to Wednesday’s cheek. Oh shit…Enid thought as she felt her face warm exponentially. Nope, so much for a working brain. It was now completely fired as she observed the scene.
Then, the other woman’s eyes realized that there was a new person in the vicinity and she turned to greet her, “You didn’t tell me you were bringing someone other than Sora though! Is this a new friend you-” Finally Enid got a good look and saw more than realization on her older self’s face, “OH! So, this was supposed to happen today.”
“I’m sorry what?” Wednesday growled out low not entirely sure who to be angry at anymore.
“Mom?” Vega questioned in shock.
Enid watched as her adult-self scratched the back of her head nervously, and tried to look away from the shocked stare of the two family members, “Yeah about today…I felt that there was something funky that was supposed to happen, I just did not know what.” She then risked looking at the older goth with a nervous smile, “Babe? Are you alright?”
Wednesday had her eyes closed and the bridge of her nose pinched as she tried to take a deep breath to calm herself back down, “Mother? Do you and father still have the rack in the dungeon?”
With a secretive smile, the older Addams matriarch responded, “Yes dear. Why do you ask?”
Wednesday glared at her wife and walked past her without looking at her again, “Pugsley? Care to relive old times for a few minutes?”
“Uh do I have a choice?” He asks hesitantly as the kids are looking at him.
“Oh! Tia, can you show me how to work the rack?” Briar asks eagerly to following her now that the shouting was over with.
Wednesday now allows an evil smirk to grace her lips and looks at her brother, “Ask your father, but I am sure he would be glad to continue the tradition of torture in our family.” She notices as Pugsley resigned and started to make his way to the house followed by his excited younger daughter.
“Wens?” Her wife called over pitifully. She paused on her approach through the threshold, “I love you.” This was said apprehensively.
Wednesday sighed and looked over her shoulder to see her daughter off to the side, but still close to the vibrant haired teen that was her former roommate with Sora and Thing slowly approaching for support, “Sangre de mi sangre y hueso de mi hueso; mi vida es tuya al igual que mi corazón.” She eventually responds with a quiet reverence, “I will meet you in our old room in ten minutes.” Without waiting for a reply, knowing that one was not needed, she enters the manor.
Enid exchanged looks with Sora, Vega, and Thing; unsure if she should say anything or not. Vega took a breath and approached her mom, “Mom?”
The older woman sighed and rubbed the back of her neck to face the teens and the rest of the family, “Everything will be fine; however, since this has been roughly two decades for me, I am going to need a reminder of everything; let’s go have a little heart to heart and figure this out.” She guided the teens into the house, offering a small reassuring smile to her younger self.
Enid, for her part, felt a lump forming in her throat as she followed the others throughout the manor, towards Wednesday’s old room she had realized. She did make a move to pinch herself, which again signified that this was indeed not a dream. So much happened in such a short amount of time, and glancing out of the corner of her eye at her future self she does not know what to think anymore; but even not understanding Spanish all that well, she understood that heart was mentioned.
“We had…a system of sorts implemented years ago for what to do when we would get into a disagreement.” Enid looks at the older wolf now, showing that she is listening as they enter the room. The door is closed as the teens sit on the bed and the wolf pulls up a chair, “It is not often anymore,” she quickly assures, “but we are not perfect, no relationship is. If we do find ourselves in a disagreement and needing space- we always say ‘I love you’ to one another, even in anger. Then the next rule is that we always come back to one another no matter if the issue is resolved or not. Thirdly, we never go to bed angry or without some kind of compromise on the matter. Finally, we always end the day with another ‘I love you’.”
Enid nods, “So, we are married then. Truly?”
There is a sad smile that is given in return, “I cannot and will not tell you too much about our lives; but yes; we are. What Wednesday said before heading downstairs to the dungeon was part of our vows.” Then, to give the young wolf time to process, she turns to her daughter, “So, just give me the overview on how this happened.”
“Shouldn’t we just wait for mother?” Vega asks, not wanting to tell the same story multiple times.
“I am just spit balling here, but from my viewpoint…present company excluded…it seems like your mother already has had a trying day.” There was a sudden scream that could be heard as their heads looked toward the door with apprehension, “Case in point. So, I would rather avoid any more torture if I can.”
Another scream was heard, making the teens wince with sympathy, “Eh don’t worry about Pugsley, he is sturdy enough…now then, unless you want to be on the receiving end of the infamous Wednesday Addams temper, just calmly tell me what happened. Vega you start.”
As young Enid listened to the tale once more, she thought on her future self's words about Wednesday. It did make her wonder what her roommate was doing right now and how she was handling her absence, which was in fact a silly thought. After all, they were not even together yet, so Wednesday was probably just writing her novel or focusing on her cello...or even planning something frightening as retribution for her outburst in the lunchroom. Yeah, that was probably it because there was no way her current roommate was this passionate about her as she is in the future...right?
28 years into the Past
Location: Nevermore
For over two hundred years, Nevermore Academy had a proud reputation for accepting Outcasts of all kinds into it’s walls for the soul mission of providing a haven for the students to learn and grow. Recently, it had survived an attack from an undead pilgrim and a genocidal lunatic. Now though; a much darker scourge settles over the school. With each passing hour of the final classes of the day, the creatures that resided in the school could feel a massive weight bearing down on them. It was suffocating and predatory all at once.
Much like how the Red Sea parted for Moses, a sea of students parted the halls for the predator that marched through them with purpose. The once expressionless dark teenager, now wearing a murderous expression. The students (and some of the faculty) held their breath as she entered the spaces. Wednesday though paid them no mind, her focus heading towards the dorm room of Ophelia Hall.
She all but kicked down the door to be greeted once more to an empty space, the sunny werewolf no where to be seen. She clenched her fists and tossed her bag on her bed and stormed to her closet to change out of her uniform and into her more casual wear that would be suitable for what she had planned before turning to her trunk and unload a hoard of weapons. She inspected each of them before choosing a few knives- including a special silver knife, a mirror, a few grenades that contained Belladonna in a gaseous state.
As she was packing up her chosen arsenal, she heard an annoying ringtone and saw on Enid’s nightstand the wolf’s phone. Wednesday had found it in between the break in classes when she had come back to the room to see if the wolf had returned. When she did not see the vibrant girl, she had called the infernal device to hear her own special ring tone and found the phone in the discarded pink bag that had laid on the bed.
Of course, this infuriated the goth more than ever. Going over to the device, she seethes at the contact-the matriarch of the Sinclair pack, Esther. She allowed it to go to voicemail as she grabs her bag and slams the door shut behind her, making the other students in the hallway jump out of her way, avoiding direct eye contact with the seer, not that this bothers her in anyway. In fact, she allows herself to feel slightly proud of this development.
After all, it was high time to remind people who she was; and she knew who to start with.

Chapter Text
By the time Enid is done telling her side of the story; there is a light knock on the bedroom door before it opens, revealing Wednesday with a medium sized tray with a few small bowls filled with an assortment of snacks and a few empty glasses; but behind her was Lurch with another tray with different kinds of beverages, “Thank you Lurch, that will be all. Tell the rest of the family we will be down soon.”
Lurch just nodded and groaned out a response before leaving the mini family to their meeting, “Hey babe.” Enid watched as her adult-self got up and helped Wednesday get settled with the snacks, “How was torturing Pugsley?”
“Disappointing. Apparently, it helped assist him with a back issue he had no idea he had. Something popped as we were stretching him out and he had been relieved. Brair though is most adequate and picked up on the concept well, so I guess it was not an overall loss.” She then gave her wife a glare, “However, do not try and deflect the issue. I am still rather cross with you.”
Wednesday finished with setting up the snacks and gave each teen a glass as the older wolf poured them a drink that they requested. She was about to pour Wednesday’s glass when the raven stopped her and instead pulled out a wine bottle and gave herself a hefty amount, “Mother?” Vega bravely calls out questioningly as they look between the glass and the goth.
“I am definitely cross with you.” Taking a deep breath, she takes a deep sip and lets the burn hit the back of her throat before settling down next to the wolf and gives them each a sharp look before giving a softer one to the young vibrant wolf, “I am ready to hear the cliff notes version. Vega?”
“I used the same spell you always use to spy on mom when she is gone for long periods of time.” She says quickly.
This made both Enids and Wednesday cough out their drinks, “You spy on me?!” They both ask at the same time but then looked at each other before glancing at the raven who looked away, cheeks dusting with a slight tint of red.
“It is not spying. It is observing.” She says still not looking at them, “I just make sure you are safe.” She then composes herself and glares at her daughter, “Which clearly, I need to lock the spell books away when you are home. How could you have messed the spell up this badly?”
Vega wrung her hands together and avoided eye contact, “Still trying to figure that out; but I did not mean to. I just wanted to see if mom was ok after our argument.”
“Which we already discussed…twice…and it is fine. We resolved the issue, all is forgiven. Lessons are learned. No punishment necessary.” Enid stated looking at her wife with a plea in her teal gaze asking for clemency for their daughter.
This did not soften Wednesday at all though, “No punishment? Have you taken leave of your senses as well? We do not have many rules in the house and she broke a big one.” She looks at the teens, “You have put yourselves in danger. What if instead of bringing her here;” she motioned to teen Enid, “you went there? Or better yet, what if all four of you ended up in a completely different time? Then what? You would be trapped in the past or wherever you would have ended up and we would be going out of our mind with worry not knowing what happened.”
Wednesday got up and crossed her arms, going towards her large window to look out onto the Addams grounds, “So forgive me love, but some kind of punishment needs to happen; not to mention she lied to me when I directly offered her to tell me the truth.”
Sora squeezed Vega’s hand, seeing that the half-wolf was looking down in submission and guilt at this, “You’re right.” Vega responds as she squeezes Sora’s hand backs before anyone can say anything to her defense, “I deserve it. I knew better, but I did it anyway. You gave me a chance and I blew it.”
Wednesday pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. Turning back around, she sees a pleading look in her wife’s face and her former roommate’s face. The double puppy eyed look was like shoving a steak through her heart, “Quare me relinquit diabolus?” She mutters out looking up at the ceiling hoping for some kind of sign. She then sighs again and states, “I propose you are grounded for two months. At Nevermore, you are not allowed to visit Jericho with your friends; you are to stay to the confines of the school. I will tell Barclay of this and she will ensure you follow your sentencing. When you come home at the next holiday break, you must clean and organize the potions lab, as well as take inventory, sharpen, and organize the armory.”
Vega perked up at this. Of course, the next two months are going to suck at not being able to hang out with her friends, and cleaning the armory was going to be like hard labor, but in all honesty, she was expecting a lot worse, “Of course mother.”
“Hold on, Wednes can we discuss this?” The older wolf asked hesitantly.
“Yeah, I mean this spell technically took two so I am at least partially involved.” The younger wolf responded in agreement.
“Also, if I may Mrs. Addams,” Sora said speaking up a little more apprehensively, “it’s not like I did any better than stopping her from doing this.” Thing also tapped out his involvement as well.
Wednesday, for her part, stood her ground, and was about to respond when Vega spoke up, “No it is ok. This was my idea, and this is on me. I will take the wrap and whatever is handed out to me.” At this she looks at her mother, making direct eye contact.
Wednesday acknowledges the look with one of her own. It is not as angry as before, however there is a lingering glare of disappointment, “Estoy orgulloso de que seas dueño de tus errores;” she says gently before finishing with, “sin embargo, pasará mucho tiempo antes de que recuperes mi confianza.”
Vega looks crestfallen at this last part but manages out, “I will do whatever I can to earn your trust back mother.”
“See that you do. For now, I will keep my books locked in my office until such a time that occurs. As for Sora,” she looks at the teen next to her daughter, secretly pleased to see that the psychic is still showing her support and courage, “You are not our child, therefore there is not much-”
“Wait! Are you going to tell my mom about this?”
Enid saw the slight conflict in her wife’s dark eyes about this. She went over to her and gently reached out to take her hand, “We really do not have to; I mean it’s not like they got hurt.”
Wednesday shook her head and retracted her hand, wanting a little personal space for now. She although conceded to the point, “I suppose not, but-”
“If I am still allowed, can I come back on the next break?” Vega and the adults looked at her in surprise, “I can help Vega with whatever is needed. After all, like I said, I could have been more convincing. Please?”
Wednesday frowned in thought; although she did respect the fact that the girl was willing to take partial blame for this transgression. Relenting, she says, “Alright. However, if any more incidents like this occur, then I am afraid I will have to tell your mom and there will be serious repercussions. Understood?”
“Crystal!” Vega and Sora let out a sigh of relief.
“Now Thing.” The hand made a shiver at the tone, “You betrayed me. You swore your loyalties to me all those years ago and yet here we are…” The hand coward at the tone and tried to tap out an apology, “Oh no, you are nowhere near sorry yet. Your punishment? No hand lotion, and no manicures for two months.”
“Wait a minute! Does this mean he cannot give them or receive them?!” The older wolf exclaimed as she got into Wednesday’s space once more in a panic.
Wednesday just gave an evil smirk, “Both.”
Young and old wolves gasped out, “NO!”
Thing gave an exclamation of horror at this, “For those two months, you are sentenced to hard labor. Maybe you will think twice before you go behind my back again.”
“Wait this is punishing me! You know he is the only one I trust with my delicate nails; and look! I just broke one at work this week! See?!”
Wednesday looked her wife with the same smirk, “Two for the price of one. Who would have thought?”
“You’re evil.” The wolf growled dangerously showing her claws now.
“And you kept this a secret for over twenty years as I am kind of remembering this incident now;” Wednesday now turns to give Enid her full attention. Once more her eyes are blazing with a hellfire the younger wolf had no idea the goth possessed. In fact, the only thing this could have been even remotely familiar was if there was a tape divider between the two, “Because of your disappearance, I nearly razed Nevermore to the ground looking for you, I tortured your older brother, and nearly stole a jet to fly to bloody San Fransico with full intent on committing the most heinous crime against your mother! All because I was worried sick about you.” Wednesday fired off slapping the clawed hand away from her face.
The teens looked at the goth in shock at her statement; “You did what?” young Enid asked softly, daring to approach as she got in between the two adults in the room to face her older roommate.
The adults jumped away from each other as if remembering she was here with them. Wednesday looked at the younger wolf, her eyes were starting to fill with tears again and this tore at her heart, but she shook her head, “I am sorry; I am not going to repeat myself. I will leave that to the me you know…”
Enid looked crestfallen at this and she started shaking, tears spilling from her eyes, “But you do…did care about me back then?”
This immediately broke Wednesday as she looks at her wife to the younger version in front of her. It was a silent communication confirming what she had suspected, “Oh mi pequeño lobo.” She sighs out softly in a rare form of affection that is only ever reserved her family, especially for her wolf. Looking away slightly, she says, “Again, I cannot and will not speak for the me you know. However, I did mean when I said that the mark you left on me was indelible.”
“I just do not understand how things had gotten so messed up.” She whispers out, then louder she adds, “Even just being here and sort of knowing things…I still wonder if this is real.” She looks down and away from the older goth to stare at the floorboards in the room, “That this can really happen, that you would still want me in your life after all.”
Wednesday frowns and looks at her wife and the other teens. They each give her a sad look in return. She looks away from them momentarily, and almost like a bolt of electricity much like her uncle possesses hits her. Although she does not give anything away, her posture straightens and she clasps her hands in front of her, a posture her wife is familiar with, “Why don’t you all go back outside? I can take care of this.” Wednesday says, the words are meant as a suggestion, but the tone left no room for compromise.
“Are you sure? I mean I really do not remember much of this happening.” Her wife says pulling the goth to the side and whispering in her ear as she clearly ignored the suggestion and the tone, “And this is me, I can help too.”
“I know that the passage of time might have dulled your memory of this; and really I am counting on that.” Wednesday responds possibly thinking of a plan to keep the timeline in check, “In any case, it sounds like she is here because of an issue with past me.” Then in a darker tone, “And your mother.”
“You are not allowed to kill my mom babe.” Enid says with an eye roll. Then seeing that her wife was now looking at the past version of herself with hopefulness, she adds, “Mini-me is not going to let you do it either. You and I both know it, so get that suggestion out of that beautifully morbid head of yours.”
Wednesday deflated, “One of these days you will let me at least do something to her as vengeance for all the years of hell she had given you.”
Enid just smiles, “Keep telling yourself that.” Then looking at the teens, she ushers them out of the room, “Come on guys. Let us give these two some privacy.” Before she leaves, she looks at Wednesday with adoration, “I love you.”
“And I you.” Before she leaves, Wednesday gives her a quick kiss and then she is alone with her roommate who is just looking at her red in the face, “What?”
“Nothing. Nothing at all.”
Wednesday just smirks as she takes the seat directly across from the teen. She refills both their glasses with their respective drinks before offering one of the snack bowls to her, “Even after all these years, you are still a terrible liar. Vega is not much better though; she managed to inherit your lack of discretionary skills.”
Enid looks at the older version of her roommate before taking a small handful of chips, adding them to her plate, “I guess I do not go into an acting career then.”
“No; although what you have accomplished, I dare say, is a lot more rewarding than pretending to be something you are not.” Dark eyes soften as Enid looks at her, almost with shock at the reverent tone that followed. Wednesday took a smaller sip of her glass before the soften look vanishes slightly, “You do not have to explain anything. I think I have concluded based on the evidence that was observed and presented, this had something to do with that wretched flea infested mongrel of a disgrace matriarch of your family.”
Enid smiled sadly and nodded as she in turn takes a swig from her glass, before placing it on the desk coaster, “Yes. She gave me some news, I did not take it well, my wolf was acting up from it; and I reacted poorly to something involving you and-”
“Eugene.” Wednesday finished, “As you heard me say, I do have a vague recollection of the events that transpired.” Enid’s face went red again before she shook her head and covered her face. Wednesday felt her heart drop at the sight. Leaning over slightly, she reached out to one of the hands that was covering her face and gently grabbed it before slowly pulling away, “Non unquam habebis faciem tuam a me cela.”
She heard Enid sniffle a little bit, but allowed her hands to drop, never letting go of Wednesday’s, “I’m sorry Wednesday. I do not understand-”
“You do not have to, yet. Although to be honest, you manage to pick up on Spanish more so than the other languages I speak to you.” The inner wolf howls joyfully as she sees Wednesday smirk in amusement, “Keeps things entertaining for me honestly.”
“Rude.” Enid states but manages to smile a bit more brightly, which made Wednesday satisfied.
“What I do not understand though, is why did you run?” The goth asked as she needed to get down to business.
The inner wolf paused in its joyful howling and instead lets out a whimper, which is echoed by the teen. Wednesday watches in sympathy as the smile falls, she squeezes the hand that is still held as a sign of grounding and support. Enid sighs, “I was embarrassed, ashamed, and scared.” She let out a breath and squeezed her hand back before gathering the courage to face the older goth, “I did not want to lose you. I thought I blew my chance at being with you after that incident and I thought you would not want me in your life anymore after what I did.”
Wednesday nodded and was going to pull her hand away, but felt the hold tighten around it. She looks at Enid and sees the fear in her eyes, which makes her heart ache, “Oh mon chéri soleil,” she says gently in what Enid recognizes as French, “I am not leaving you.” She readjusts her hold and notices how Enid relaxes once more, “I cannot reveal much, but I can tell you that yes I was angry at first; but then when you went missing without that infernal phone of yours, I was more worried than anything else.” She allowed that to sink in and watched as the wolf’s posture relaxes some more and sees the comprehension dawn on the teen, “So, did being here and now having these revelations help with your worries?”
Enid looks at her and sees a softness that she is still slightly unfamiliar with, but thinking it over she still feels hesitant, but nods, “Yes, I believe so.”
Wednesday of course picks up on it, “What are you holding back?”
Enid pulls away this time, and Wednesday lets her. She watches as she fiddles with her hands, a nervous habit that has not yet been broken, “Vega is a good kid, but she takes after you in a lot of ways…I guess…am I…we…” She takes a deep breath and looks at Wednesday, “I don’t seem like her…but-”
“No.” Wednesday states firmly, “You are nothing like her. Vega and I do share some interests yes; but you are her emotional anchor. You never have her do anything she does not want to do. Your love for her does not come with conditions.”
Enid sighs with relief, “Good. That’s good.” She then bites her lip with one of her canines and gives Wednesday another look.
Wednesday sighs as she stands up, “One last thing I can tell you, then I believe it is time for you to say good bye to the family. She has shifted; did so at a young age. Afterwards, it has become a mini family tradition to go out on the full moon and play around. It has become one of the things I personally enjoy doing with you two.”
Enid stands up now as well…euphoric. She hears screams of the children playing and the laughing of others and goes over to the window. She finds her future-self running with the younger kids and the two teens, who all seemed happy and carefree. Slowly, she feels the welcomed calming dark presence beside her, “So this is really my future. Our future.”
Wednesday thinks for a moment as she stares outside to where her family is playing, “It can be yes.”
“Can be?”
Keeping her expression neutral, the raven answers, “Despite my mother’s positive visions and my darker ones; the future is not always set in stone. If this is what you want, then you must make the right decisions.”
Out of the corner of her eye, Wednesday sees Enid frown in contemplation at this statement. She lets the wolf think it over for a minute before continuing, “I can tell you it is not always going to be rainbows and sunshine with us. We are not perfect as you saw. Mistakes will be made. Occasionally we still headbutt from time to time; even sometimes going so far to using words as weapons; but at the end of the day, we work.” A ghost of a smile forms on her lips as Enid looks at her now. Wednesday meets her gaze still giving her that smile, “We shouldn’t, but we do…almost like a…what was it?”
Enid looked away, but gave a soft smile as she rewatched the scene outside, “Like some sort of weird, friendship anomaly.” She turns back towards the raven, “Any chance I can get a hug before we head back down? Or is that still not our thing?” The last question was said a little jokingly; after all she had just witnessed some PDA that she knew her past roommate would knife her for if she ever tried something like that.
Wednesday silently scoffed to herself at the puppy dog eyes she was getting and not for the first time, curses her linage. However, she also knows that this is the time to enact her suspected plan. She opens her arms, and watches as the young wolf lights up and is immediately engulfed in the hug, “Thank you.” Enid whispers as she squeezes her.
“You’re welcome.” Wednesday responds in kind, “Accipe benedictionem hanc lupum meum; lente memoria tua huius temporis labatur, sed memores doni spei quod haec experientia attulit.”
Enid felt a shiver of warmth envelope her as Wednesday finished her sentence. She pulls away slowly and looks at her friend, “What did all that mean?”
“Nothing you need not worry about. Just a protection spell to ensure you return to your appropriate timeline. Now come along. Time to say your good byes.”
They had back downstairs and back outside. Wednesday watches as Enid runs towards the kids with a bounce in her step. As she stands there admiring the scene, she feels a warm presence come up next to her. A scared hand encloses around her own calloused one, “I guess whatever you said worked?” Her wolf spoke in her ear.
“I do not know. You tell me.” Came the dry response.
The older wolf smiled brightly and nuzzled close to her raven’s space, “I am sorry I never told you. Please forgive me?”
The raven notices the eyes being given, but she does not give in right away; instead allowing a small smirk to grace her lips, “I do not know. Such transgressions are not so easily forgiven after all.” She hears a whimper, “I might be able to consider it though…”
Now a groan, “Wednesday-”
“I will settle for some light psychological torture. No scars, no blood, just some psychological and maybe emotional damage.” Surprising her wife, Wednesday expertly spins them around so that Enid is fully trapped in her arms. She smirks at the surprise look on her face before dipping her expertly, now giving her a look she knew she would win her this compromise. Leaning in, she whispers in her ear, “You can even have the final approval on the extent and type of torment.”
Enid’s eyes went wide as she watches Wednesday pull back, the smile still on her face, “Well I suppose as long as no one else gets hit in the crossfire…it is our turn to host Thanksgiving…”
“Maravillosa idea mi lobo encantadora y tortuosa.” Wednesday praised as she initiated a kiss.
This was broken though by a loud ‘awe’. They broke a part to see Sora and Enid grinning like idiots. The little kids were all giggling, and Vega just looked a little mortified. The adults though all wore shit-eating grins at their display with Gomez even clapping his approval. Wednesday half-heartedly scowled, while Enid just grinned in embarrassment and scratched the back of her neck, “Ok, ok guys. We have to get mini-me home now. Go on and finish up the game.”
“Tia Wednes! You’re on my team!” Brair says and she runs over and grabs her skirt to pull her away. Wednesday rolls her eyes and goes to follow her without question.
Sora and the young wolf chase after them, while Vega sits out and goes over to her mom, “You are done playing?” She asks.
“For now. Those kids are exhausting.” Vega responds, but then she sighs out, “I truly am sorry. I should have just called you instead of being a coward. You and mother raised me better than that.”
Enid looks at her daughter with a little frown, “Water under the bridge. Really. I was more hurt that I was letting you down than anything.”
Vega smiled sadly as she looks at her best friend and the teen wolf running with the kids, “Mini-you said roughly the same thing.”
Enid smiled thoughtfully as she watches her teen self. The game looks like it had concluded and she watches as her teen self goes around to say goodbye, “It’s been a few decades since this happened to me, so like I said earlier, my memory is not as clear as I would have liked…”
Vega looks at her now perplexed, but waited patiently as her mom gather’s her thoughts, “But I do remember being incredibly nervous and scared. You are a smart kid,” she side-eyes her daughter with a gentle smile, “even without your mother’s hellbent intent on committing murder or I suppose even without Mini-me telling you about what happened between her and your grandma; I’m sure you can tell what it was like for me to grow up with her.”
“Honestly, I think I am more inclined to agree with mother now that I kind of know what happened to you; at least at this point in your life. No one should take you away from us, or make you feel like that.” Vega stated with a glare.
Enid just smiled brightly and wrapped an arm around her daughter and pulled her in for a sideways hug. Vega huffed in mock annoyance, but obviously allowed the contact, “The point I am trying to make is that I was never confident that I could ever be a good mother with a childhood like I had; but then I’d look at you,”
Vega pulls away slightly so she could see her mom better; and at first is startled but the unshed tears that are in her eyes. She starts to panic slightly, wondering if her mother is watching them, but then the panic subsides as she notices that her mom is smiling brightly as she finishes with, “and see how beautiful and wonderful you turn out to be and think ‘I must have done something right to have a daughter this cool.’ And right then I knew I’d miss you every day until the day I get to hold you again.”
Wednesday walks back over to them with a graceful stride. She tilts her head slightly with concern noticing her wife’s watery eyes, but the bright smile on her wife alleviates some of the concern, however noticing her daughter’s contemplative yet downcast look raises it slightly again. Before she can ask anything, the young teen bounds over and surprises Vega by grasping her hands and forcing her to face the young vibrant wolf, “This was a wild and crazy ride, but despite all the confusion and misunderstandings…”
“Yes, I am really sorry about that.” Vega says shyly wondering how much more apologizing she will be doing.
“It still feels kinda sad to say goodbye.” The wolf says as if there were no interruptions, “I’m really happy I got to meet you a little earlier than I would have. If circumstances were different, I really feel like we could have been best friends.”
Vega’s gaze softens as she looks at the teen version of her mom. Somehow, she knows that if things had been different, they would have been definite friends, “I’m glad I got to meet you early as well.” She manages out with a soft smile and squeezes her hands back.
The teen gives a familiar fanged smile before turning to her adult roommate and adult-self, “I just want to say thank you so much for this, and for…well everything.”
“Sure thing! Despite everything, it was good to reminisce.” The adult wolf cheers with a smile.
The teen grins back before sheepishly looking at Wednesday, while trying her best to give her some puppy eyes to go with it, “Any chance I could get a kiss from my future wife before I go?”
Wednesday rolls her eyes and gives her a deadpanned stare, “I am forty-four years old.”
“Just the cheek then?”
“I worry for you.” Came the retort.
In the meantime, Vega and Sora watch with some amusement, especially at the adult wolf who is watching as if she remembers this somehow. Although they become intrigued as Wednesday’s neutral expression turns contemplative, “Though, now that I think about more…instead when you get back…” She leans closer to whisper into the teen’s ear, making sure her mouth is covered so that no one has a chance to read her lips or hear what the plan was.
Enid’s eyes go wide with alarm as Wednesday finishes her sentence, “WHAT?! No way can I do that! Who knows what’ll happen?!”
“I do. And it’ll get me to shut up, trust me.” She says crossing her arms rather begrudgingly with some red dusting her cheeks.
“Oh, is this about that?” The vibrant adult asks with a smile as she places a hand on Wednesday’s shoulder, “You should totally do it. Don’t worry.”
Still hesitant, Enid looks at the two unsure if this was really the right way to go. Sure, this Wednesday here was more tolerant of her space being invaded; but her roommate back home? That was another story. Besides, she was not even sure how her Wednesday really felt about her still. She could feel her wolf pacing inside of her nervously, until she felt a pair of arms around her middle, “What? Still can’t trust yourself?” She feels the nerves settle as she feels Vega press closer to her, “You and mother are sill the most peculiar pair I’ve ever seen. You were my first introduction to love of all forms, and I wager yours is the strongest for it is the strangest.”
Enid turns to smile at her future daughter, as Vega slings an arm over her shoulder as she finishes with a laugh, “So you better not chicken out on us. Otherwise, you won’t get to meet me again in a few years.”
“Yeah, thanks.” Enid says with a laugh, feeling more hopeful and confident. She suddenly feels a strange pull, and looks at her future family with alarm.
“Are you ready?” Wednesday asks stepping forward, hands clasped in front.
“I…yes. I am.” Enid states knowing what she is asking.
“I am going to say a spell to help make sure you get home.” The wolf feels her pulse quicken at the sight, “Vega? I need your hand since you were originally apart of this.” The girl joins her mother and together they hold hands as Wednesday recites, “Omnia tempus, et locus est omnia : redde mota, Per tempus et spatium.”
There was a sharp pull and a familiar feeling of falling as everything Enid knew went dark.
Notes:
Ok while here the comic of the final part of the story; I am actually going to wrap it up in the next chapter which will technically be the final part of the story. I am thinking about doing a little epilogue, but unsure yet (it is a strong possibility because I literally thought of it while working through this chapter).
For now, though here is the link and thank you all for sticking with me:

Chapter 6
Summary:
When it appeared, Wednesday was not saying anything right away Enid took a chance, “Say something?” her voice was small and tentative.
Wednesday paused in her pacing. Her eyes were narrowed; there was a dark aura that could be felt radiating from her. Enid got up then, but she did not approach right away, “What do you expect me to say?”
“Anything.” That I did not experience a dream, that you care for me just as I care for you.

Chapter Text
She felt the wind get knocked out of her, as she landed with a startled yelp and groan. Surprisingly (and thankfully) her bed cushioned her fall. She quickly patted herself down and laughed. Looking around the room, she breathed a sigh of relief and fell back into her covers, “I am home.” She says to the empty room allowing the peace to fill her before she shot up and remembered, “I am home. Wednesday…” She perks up and immediately sees that her roommate’s side is in disorder.
Cocking her head, she is about to go over to it when she hears her phone go off. Hesitant, she takes a look sees that it was her mother calling her once again. She lets out a growl and declines the call before doing something she rarely does, turns the device off, “Fuck off for now.” She says to it as she goes over to Wednesday’s side of the room to get a closer look at the trunk.
Just as she notices some weapons missing, she hears pounding of steps approaching the door and muffled voices. Slowly, she makes her way back to her side just as she hears Wednesday’s voice, “Unless you want to end up like that pathetic cur or better yet, eviscerated and your entrails fed to my pets at my manor, I suggest you all disperse and get the hell out of my sight. NOW!”
Suddenly all confidence vanished as the door flew open and Enid managed to see the crowd that had been trailing the goth quickly leave the area. Wednesday enters the room with tunnel vision, muttering to herself as she approaches the crystal ball on her desk, “Their time is up. When I get to San Fransico, that mangey mutt is going to wish she had never been born. I am going to pluck her fangs out one by one, tear out her claws, make a throw rug out of her pelt, and mount her head on my wall.”
Enid had been watching, face red as she stands in her corner just waiting for Wednesday to notice her; when it does not appear that the normally preceptive raven even registers that she is not as alone as she thought, the wolf lets out a little cough. The sound must have startled her slightly as a knife went whizzing by her head and landed the wall right by her ear, “Whoa! Hey it is just me!” Enid said with her hands up in a surrender like fashion.
“Enid.” Wednesday breathed out as she crossed the room in two quick strides.
“Heh…howdy roomie…” Enid responded rather breathless as Wednesday, the epitome of personal space, gets into hers. In fact, she is so close, Enid could count the freckles on her face. The contrast is striking as a mere flash of her older counterpart could be seen under the surface, which makes Enid ever more hopeful.
A hand reaches out to her, and Enid swallows a lump in her throat as her the inner wolf pants excitedly as she reaches out to take the calloused, yet deadly, hand into her own. An inner howl rages gleefully as Wednesday caresses her hand in her other one, stopping just at her wrist and her dark eyes roam over her, taking her in, “Are you alright?” the goth breathes out the question softly.
“Yeah. I am fine. Never better in fact.” Enid responds in kind offering a soft smile, not realizing that Wednesday started moving them away from the corner, discreetly plucking the knife from the wall, and guiding a now walking backwards werewolf towards the colorful bed.
“You are not harmed in anyway?”
“Nope. Not a scratch on me.”
“No bumps or bruises?”
“None.”
“Concussion maybe?”
Enid thought for a moment, “No.”
Wednesday nodded and hummed with thought before taking her hand away from Enid’s, not missing the whine that was given as a response. She raised an eyebrow at this, but lifted her finger and instructed, “Follow my finger please.” Blue eyes follow the finger back and forth a few times. Satisfied with the exam, Wednesday places her hands behind her back and states, “Well, I am satisfied that at least for this, you appear to be fine. Heartrate was elevated but perhaps that was on me for throwing a knife at your head.”
“No shit.” Enid stated, “That would have startled anyone; but you took my pulse?”
Ignoring the comment, Wednesday continued, “So if I may then, considering you to do not appear to be distressed or injured; then I just have one thing to ask of you.”
Enid laughed nervously, “Uh yeah. Sure; but can I say something first?” Wednesday stood there, staring down the werewolf eyes narrowed in a severe glare. Enid met it head on, but was immediately put into submission when Wednesday’s arms came back around and crossed in front of her. Despite being a little taller than the goth, she sure did feel small and the confidence she experienced upon her return vanished, “Are you hungry? Let’s get some food and we can-”
“Sit. Down. Now.” Wednesday ordered, allowing a bit of her anger that she had been experiencing to come out. Enid let out a little yelp and sat on the bed, “Where were you?”
“No where. I needed to go for a walk and there was a family thing-” Enid stated trying to keep her tone casual and not give anything away.
It did not work, “Lie. No one saw you leave this dorm room after you took off from the cafeteria. So let me ask again; where in the world have you been?”
Enid was starting to sweat a little under the intense gaze. She saw the raven’s hand twitch to go to her side, knowing there was a knife hidden there, “Really. There was a family emergency-”
“You lie! Your younger brothers were in Jericho and your elder brother did not see you since this afternoon; and your mother had been badgering him since around that time after your failed ‘conversation’ with her.”
Enid’s heart sank as she heard that, “Wait, you spoke with Collin?”
“I needed information about where you could have been. After he claimed to not know your whereabouts, I deduced that your previous distress was related to that disgrace of a parental unit you call mother. So I proceeded to interrogate him on what her weaknesses are. He provided the necessary intel under duress of course, but he was not very cooperative otherwise.” Wednesday explained off handedly much to Enid’s surprise, “Do no try to change the subject however.”
“Did you just admit that you tortured my brother?” Enid asks unable to focus on anything else as she recalled the older raven admitting to such a deed…and amongst other things.
“Yes! Yes, I tortured your brother! I followed you almost immediately after that spectacle in the cafeteria, but you were not here. I came back after every single class and yet you were nowhere to be found in this wretched place! I called that infernal soul sucking device that you insist on being attached to, and come to find out that it was here in your bag!” Wednesday got out as she loomed over her like Death.
Enid’s heart hammered in her chest as she stared up at the dark teen. She could see the hellfire that was raging in her furious gaze, “Did he-?”
Wednesday took a slight step back, taking this moment to reel herself in, “No. He did not give me the details of why your mother was hounding you, nor what the conversation she had with him was about.”
Enid breathed out a sigh of relief. Wednesday tucked that away in the back of her mind for the time being, “Oh that is good. Uhm…yeah that was not a good phone call.”
Wednesday took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of her nose, clearly frustrated that the wolf was not giving her the answer she so desired, “Honestly Enid, you worried me to near death. And that is NOT how I wanted to go!”
It did not matter that adult Wednesday had told her almost the same thing. It did not matter that she experienced the day in the future surrounded by who would be her family. All that mattered was the here and now for the werewolf. Those words, that confirmation, Enid smiled sheepishly as she stared into the dark eyes of her mate, “You were worried about me?” She asks wanting to hear the admission again from the raven.
Once more, Wednesday was in her face and it almost appeared as dark flames were emitting from her eyes as she seemed to stare right into Enid’s soul, “Of course I was you imbecile!”
Enid lets out a nervous laugh, and before Wednesday could question it, she takes her hands and cups either side of the goth’s face, “Hey Wednesday?” A rare moment of surprise crosses the twin braided girl and before she knows it, Enid’s lips are on hers. Wens.Raven.exe malfunctions as all thoughts and feelings froze in her mind. She feels Enid pull her into her lap and soon she gives into the kiss and starts to kiss back as she feels the wolf’s hands go from her face, down to her shoulders before resting on the collar of her shirt; while her own hands rest on the wolf’s shoulders.
The need for air comes all too soon for either them, and slowly they pull apart; Enid wearing a mischievous grin, and Wednesday’s face tinged with red in embarrassment. While the inner wolf is running zoomies with happiness, she does not comment on the blush, but instead says, “Now we can totally keep on kissing if you want, but you are going to have to let this go since I am obviously fine.” She is not sure if the raven will go for it, but she bravely finishes with, “So either get off my back, or get off my lap. Deal?”
Wednesday does not say anything for a moment, but she manages to make eye contact with the wolf. She considers for a moment before slowly sliding off the wolf’s lap, which she can hear a disappointed whine that had followed the movement. Instead of standing though, she sits beside her and hesitantly reaches for the scared hand. She notices how tense her roommate was and in a methodical manner, runs her thumb over the knuckles to try and offer some comfort, “I will concede to the first part. If this is something you wish to remain a secret, then fine. I believe we have come a long way in our…relationship…that I can respect secrets that you wish to keep. However, I do ask of one thing from you in regards to this, then I will drop this matter of your whereabouts.”
Enid looked at her now, head tilted to the side like a confused puppy, “Ok…”
Wednesday took a deep breath and said seriously, “When you do wish to eventually tell me, let it be the truth. We can respect each other to have secrets, but not for lies. I will not tolerate it. In return, I will promise you the same.”
“Deal.” Enid stated moving in to kiss Wednesday again eyes closed awaiting to bask in the feeling. The raven though gave a smirk and put her other hand up. Enid’s lips met Wednesday’s hand and the wolf opened her eyes in confusion, “Hey. I thought we were done.”
“Ay mi lobo tonto; Aún no hemos terminado, me temo.” Wednesday purred out, her lips threatening to offer the wolf a smile.
Enid swallowed the lump that formed in her throat. She was going to enroll in some language classes over the next break, “Come again?”
“I said the matter of your whereabouts was closed. Not the events prior to it. That I cannot drop, especially since you harmed a person that I view as a younger brother figure.” Wednesday stated her eyes narrowing and smirk falling.
Enid nodded, accepting the statement, “Fair. Alright, I will tell you.” Honestly, after having told this story already, she would have thought it would be easy; however, it was anything but. Knowing that the words were said out loud in this moment would make the situation more real. She took a deep breath to take the plunge.
Wednesday sat there as Enid explained the situation that had led up to this moment, including how her wolf reacted to staying with her family. The soothing patterns that she had been making on the back of the colorful hand ceased. She felt her temper reignite then, getting up she paced the room in front of the vibrant girl. Enid kept talking, watching the raven closely as her story ended.
Wednesday could see the apprehension in Enid’s stance; she tried to remember that this anger was not directed at the young wolf. She tried to reel it back again, but just thinking about Ester Sinclair made it extraordinarily difficult, “I am not upset with you.” She managed to bite out, “The same, however, cannot be said of your mother.” She turns to the crystal ball on her desk and went over to it, ready to place her hand on it.
Enid saw this and strode over and grabbed the hand just before it touched it shimmering surface, “Wait, what are you doing?”
“What I intended to do when I entered this dwelling. I am calling my parents and having them send Lurch with the family jet.”
“You have a family jet?” Enid asked astounded, but then she shook her head, “Of course you would; but why do you need it?”
Wednesday meets Enid’s eye and snarls out dangerously, “To pay that wretched cur a visit. I fully intend on making her wish she had never been born.” Enid’s eyes widened slightly, her heart beating rapidly again, “Her transgressions against you have gone on long enough and it is time for her to experience the pain she has caused you. An eye for an eye as it were.”
“Ok hold on. I appreciate that, more than you know; but you cannot kill my mom.”
“I am not going to kill her…yet. Death in this case would be too merciful. I am not feeling very merciful. I am feeling ruthless. I am going to make her suffer first to make her wish for the embrace of death.”
Oh my god, I should not be feeling turned on by this, Enid felt her body heat up and could feel the inner wolf preen at Wednesday’s sense of justice. Of course, the slightly feral side of her would be all for this; however, the human part knew this was not the way to go, “No, please babe; leave her alone.”
“Babe? I am not an infant.”
“No, it is a pet name. I mean if I am allowed to call you that and if we are moving forward with…” Enid motioned to the space between them. She sighed then, “Can we just finish discussing this instead? I will apologize to Eugene, and I am sorry for what I did to you. Manhandling you that way, and for making you worry.”
Wednesday looks at her and must have seen something in her eyes. She forced herself to relax and allowed Enid to guide her back to the colorful bed. They sat back down and took in the silence for a minute, “So your wolf sees me as your mate.” Wednesday stated returning to the revelation at hand.
“Yes.” Wednesday nodded at the response. Enid eyed her, “If it is too much, I will be fine with staying friends.” Despite the future she experienced, she wanted to be sure this is what the raven wants. After all there was no telling when they had gotten together like that.
Dark lips twitched in a small smile; Enid felt her breath hitch at seeing a small dimple. Wednesday shook her head, “What about you? What do you want Enid?”
“I…I don’t…understand.”
Facing the werewolf fully, Wednesday grabbed both hands and looked at her, “You heard what that woman wants from you all your life, you heard what your wolf wants, basically you heard from almost everyone what they want from you; what is it that you want for yourself?”
It was not sure who started to lean in again, but Enid rested her forehead against Wednesday’s. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of ink, old books, and something more from the goth, “I want to kiss you again.” She breathed out.
“Come desideri, mia cara.” Wednesday muttered. The second kiss was gentler and not as long; but that did not diminish the longing between them.
Enid pulled away this time, “I do not want you to feel pressured.”
“Nonsense. I,” Wednesday uncharacteristically hesitated, “might have started to feel this way towards you when you started to feel comfortable in my family home over the break. When you first admitted to enjoying my family.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Admittedly I knew you started corrupting my heart after you left the dorm for those few days.” Enid looked guilty at that, but Wednesday was having none of that as she lifted a hand to her lips to kiss the back of her knuckle, “Do not feel guilt for what was my own fault. As I was saying, the feeling solidified when I left you to fight the Hyde. I would not what to do if something had happened that night. Seeing you walking towards me after that moment was as if experiencing fresh air for the first time; but seeing you in my home overbreak, feeling comfortable enough to howl in our halls, trying to learn fencing from my father and my mother, learning to waltz with me in our ballroom that one evening.”
Wednesday closed her eyes recalling the memories as she kept talking, Enid’s face becoming redder and heart hammering away threatening to burst from her chest, “You further enchanted me, dare I say if I did not know better, I would think you had some siren in you.” She opened her eyes to meet Enid’s blue, “I am willing to give this a chance, but I do want you to know that with me, you are safe; and if, or when, the time comes, you will have my name and my family, my clan, and if necessary, the protection of my body as well.”
Enid laughed nervously and gave an awkward smile, “Well hopefully it will not come to that, but that did sound like a marriage proposal.”
“When I propose to you, you will know it.” Wednesday vowed, “The main point was that no harm will come to you whether it be physical, mental, or emotional. I will strive to ensure your happiness.”
Enid smiled gently at this, “I will too. So, are we girlfriends now?”
Wednesday rolled her eyes and huffed, “If you wish to call us that, I have no objection.”
“Can I call you ‘babe’?”
“Do not push your luck. Now I believe you said you were hungry, yes?” Wednesday inquired.
Enid got up and pulled Wednesday to her feet, “Honestly, I was a little nervous about this so I was trying to distract you, but yes I can use a little something.”
Wednesday opened the door, “Bene lets 'adepto aliquid manducare mi.” She guided Enid through out to the hallway and locked the door behind them, the people in the hallway jumped at her presence but then was in awe as they saw Enid was with her and they were holding hands.
Enid groaned, “Can you take a break using multiple languages with me?”
Wednesday smirked devilishly, “Pourquoi? Je m'amuse trop.”
“You are the absolute worse!”
“And yet you decided to be with me.”
The atmosphere in Nevermore changed. The oppressive darkness that had descended was slowly lifting as it made way for a brightness like the sun. The raven and the wolf made their way towards the cafeteria continuing their banter and conversation. Many of the students and faculty alike observed the duo, filled with relief as they could suddenly breathe again as if knowing there was a bright future was ahead.

Chapter Text
There was a familiar black hearse that pulled out to the main road, “Where are you taking us my love?” Gomez asked from behind the wheel. It was not often he drove anymore, not since employing Lurch a good number of years ago, but Morticia was rather insistent that they could leave Lurch home and that they were more than capable of taking care of themselves.
“I told you mon cher, it is a surprise.” She purrs out to him posture composed and eyes facing forward but shining with knowing brightness.
“Oh French. You know what it does to me, mi amor.” Gomez sighs out helplessly as he tries to take her hand and kiss all the way up her arm.
There was cacophony of horns that were blown as the hearse swerved in the road, “My dear, please pay attention to the road so we do not cause a crash.” Morticia scolded lightly as she pulled her arm back to make her husband focus on driving.
“If I must.” He states disappointed as he waves apologetically to the other drivers. There is a comfortable silence that follows for a moment, “Have you heard from our escorpión mortal? Did things work out with nuestra vibrante joven hombre lobo?” This was asked more brightly as he focused on the road, only to glimpse at his wife briefly.
Morticia smiled secretly, “I have heard from our daughter and things seemed to have worked out well between the two.” She stares out the window, “She of course did not allude to much, but a mother knows.”
Gomez laughs joyfully, “Es una maravillosa noticia, querida! We must insist on her coming to stay with us next school break!”
“And so, we shall. Turn left up here.” Morticia instructed in just enough time to give her joyful husband to get ready to make the turn.
He does so as he continues to beam brightly; regaling the dove with all the plans he had that can help Enid bond with the family over break. He even started to reminisce of the early days of their own courtship which Morticia smiled back and allowed him to bask in the memories, even allowing herself to bask in his warmth.
Internally she sighs, knowing things had not been easy for them despite their dark daughter thinking otherwise. They had their challenges sure, but she would not trade their love for anything in the world. Finally, they make their approach into a small secluded neighborhood, “Here dear. Pull into this driveway.” She says pointing to a house.
Gomez pauses in his own monologue and gives her a curious look but does as he is instructed. The house they pull into is a modest raised ranch style home. The front yard was severely overgrown and there was a ‘For Sale’ sign in the front. He turns the car off as he parks it in the driveway at his wife’s instruction and gets out. Walking to the other side, he helps her out of the car and together they stand by the hearse looking at the house, “What do you think?” Morticia asks lightly as she stares at the dark exterior in wonder.
Gomez is perplexed as he stares between her and the house. Over the years, he had gotten used being asked for opinions on things he had no idea about, “Quaint.” He responds and steps away slightly to look at the neighborhood they were in, “Quiet. Also, the neighborhood appears to be a little odd, the other houses…appear colorful.” He notices that one of the curtains at a neighboring house move as if someone had been standing and watching them, “Are we moving my dear?”
“Come, let us walk around.” She announces as she seems to glide towards the house.
Gomez just smiles as he holds out his arm for her to grab and together, they walk around the property. The inside is in a poor state, due to being left untouched; but somehow, he could sense the secret warmth of potential in it. Discreetly though, he watches her as her eyes light up subtly. They come to a large wooded backyard. Of course, not as large as the manor, but large enough for a small family that could enjoy its peace and small amount of solitude, “I had a vision on the first day she came to visit.” Morticia finally says as they take a seat on a bench on the back patio.
“Oh?”
Morticia nodded sagely, “She radiates so much light. I saw this house briefly, filled with light and warmth. Peace. Dare I say, happiness.” She looks at her husband and gives him a smile, “I did not know where they were, but that did not matter. It was not until a few days ago that I was looking through a magazine Pugsley had brought home that I saw this listing.”
“I am glad you showed me. It is not far from us either. We could buy it and give it to them when the time is right.” Gomez said softly, knowing where his wife was leading as he reaches out as a silent request to hold her hand. Morticia smiles softly and gently places her hand in his. He brings her hand to his lips to place a gentle kiss on the knuckles, “Nuestra familia pronto crecerá, mi amor. ¿Crees que estamos listos?” He gets up off the bench and gently pulls her to her feet. Soon they are doing an improv waltz around the backyard.
“Ma chérie, ne sommes-nous pas toujours prêts à tout?” She returns to him as he seemingly glides them around.
“Oh, French again for me? My love, you have me spoiled.” Gomez sighs longingly as he does not hesitate to show his strong affections and devotion to her.
Morticia allows it this time, as she catches another glimpse of the house as he spins her around. She had seen an older version of the vibrant werewolf that ensnared her daughter’s cold heart, she saw her daughter’s calming darkness give silent strength in return as well as the strong devotion that could rival her father; and she had seen something else as well…a beautifully perfect balance of the two strong young women- a young teenager.
There were other glimpses as well that she had gotten over the course of Enid’s visit. It had been years since she had gotten so many visions in a row that it waivered her normal silent composure; but one vision stood out amongst the rest: a small family gathering. Two older werewolves- male and female, dining with her daughter’s future family. It appeared to be autumn of the occurrence, and while she had not seen what had led up to it, but the shrieking echoes of the older female was something that had been resonating within her as she had run out of this very house. Seeing something unsettling is not normal for a dove of her nature- having only the ability to see positive outcomes, but that was just it- the positivity of the vision was seeing Enid, Wednesday, and the young teen watching from the large picture window with bright smiles on their faces as the male stood by them with silent amusement.
“Shall we go speak with the realtor then?” Gomez asked softly as he observed his wife’s demeanor.
They paused in their dance, having waltzed to the front of the house while she had been reflecting. She stares at it a moment longer, as if willing the image, she had to be seen once more in the window, “Yes, let us depart and help them set up a bright future.” They got into the hearse and pulled out of the driveway, leaving the house behind them but knowing that it would not be long before it would be echoing with laughter in it’s walls.
Notes:
Whelp this is truly the end.
I hope I did Morticia and Gomez a little justice; but here you go.I am going to be working on what I hope to be a small sequel to this, focusing on them building their relationship.
Thank you again for giving this story a chance as I dip my feet into this fandom. TTFN!
