The corruption is returning

Summary:

Chapter 1: This Can’t Be Real
Lukey hadn’t seen Pangi in a while, busy in his lab trying to cure the spreading corruption. When Aimsey dragged him to Pangi’s house, Lukey was horrified. The place was nearly gone—twisted, black vines, rotting wood, and thick darkness.

Pangi stood there like everything was normal.“Pangi… how are you?” Lukey asked gently.
“I’m fine,” Pangi said, hiding behind his armor.“No, you’re not,” Lukey said. “Come with me. You can’t stay here.”

Chapter 1: This can’t be real

Chapter Text

Lukey hasn't seen Pangi or anyone for that matter. He has locked himself in the lab to work on Pangi’s cure. While he is running back and forth trying to find his vials he hears a familiar voice. “ Lukey, where are you !?” Lukey turns around and sees Aimsey running around desperately trying to find them. “ Yeah, I'm by the potion room, what's up?” Lukey says, looking a bit worried in Aimsey's direction. “ You- you need to help Pangi he- he’s not okay” Aimsey spoke in a worried and stressed voice. “Hey calm down what's going on?” lukey asks calmly but scared for what Aimsey will say next. Aimsey knows there isn’t time to explain so they take Lukey arms and pull him forward “ no time to explain just follow me, it’s about Pangi.” Lukey being now really worried follow Aimsey to Pangi’s base, he is wondering what could have possibly happened I mean he hasn’t seen Pangi or his house for more then a week now, but Pangi said that he was fine and that the skulk around his house would make sure that the corruption didn’t get worse.

Lukey and Aimsey are almost over the cathedral and then Lukey sees it. Pangi’s house and it has gotten so much worse. They land and right before they enter Aimsey says that she won’t be entering with them and before Lukey could ask why they fly off. Lukey pauses for a moment looking at Pangi’s house which is covered in crying-obsidian. There is more crying-obsidian than wood at this point, he steps forward and knocks into Pangi’s door which is by his relief this wood. “ Come in,” Pangi yells.

He opened the door with a smile. It truly and fully dropped beyond faking when he saw the inside.Pangi moved gracefully through his house looking through his storage. He doesn’t seem to mind the corruption or sees it as an inconvenience as he had learned to disregard its presence.“heyy, lukey what’s up?” Pangi’s voice is cheery but burdened. “This- this isn’t good” his voice softens with worry and love towers Pangi who stops in his tracks and looks at Lukey. “Yeah, it's been growing but I'll be fine.” he awkwardly brushes it off like it's nothing,”but enough about that, how are you?”

Lukey stood at the bottom of the staircase, eyes trailing up the gnarled, twisting growth that once used to be a clean path to the attic. The corruption had eaten away most of the upper floor, leaving only a warped, narrow crawlspace into what used to be a storage room.

“Have you even been up there recently?” he asked, already moving, hand gripping the edge of a jagged plank to pull himself up.
The air got heavier as he climbed, thick with a strange, pulsing warmth. Then he saw it.
A massive, corrupted attic. Purple tendrils curled into the walls, spikes jutting from the ceiling like broken bones. There was no way through. No room left.
“Pangi… what the hell is this?”

A voice floated up from below. “It’s not that bad. You’re being dramatic.”
Lukey stared at the corruption. Not that bad? He forced himself to breathe, to push down the scream that threatened to break out.“You can’t live here,” he said, climbing back down. “This place isn’t safe anymore.”Pangi was already walking away, brushing dust off his shoulder like nothing had happened.“You’re overreacting,” he called back. “It’s just a little… weird up there. That’s all.”Lukey followed, faster now. “Weird? You think that is weird?” He gestured behind him, eyes wide. “That thing’s growing, Pangi. It’s spreading.”

Pangi stopped in the middle of the ruined living room. The floor creaked under their feet—softer than it had been a minute ago.“I’ve been managing it. I’m used to it, and it’s kind of pretty, you now..”“No one should have to get used to something like that and it’s- never mind.”Pangi didn’t answer. He looked around, just briefly. Maybe for the first time, he really saw the corruption creeping into everything—the walls, the light, even the air.
“This is my home,” he said quietly.Lukey stepped forward, softer now. “No. It was. Now it’s something else. You know it.”For a long moment, Pangi said nothing. His usual deflecting grin was gone.Lukey hated how blunt he’d been. But he also knew there was no room for comfort in a place that was rotting from the inside out.

“You can stay with me at the lab if you want, it would also make it easier to make sure you’re okay and that the corruption doesn’t get worse then it already is.” Pangi is unsure but wouldn't mind spending a bit more time with Lukey quietly says“Yeah, i guess” Lukey notices this, without thinking he reaches he is not sure why he did it but it just feeld right at the moment.” Let's go” Pangi takes his hand “Yeah, lets go” and they fly together into the sunset towards the lab.
