Three weeks after Pangi stumbles home, half-dead, things fall back into relative normalcy. They don't talk about it. They put a potted-plant over the blood-stain in their carpet, and they don't talk about it.
The two of them never intend to get into any trouble at all, really. They don't ever go looking for any these things, those aforementioned things just happen to find them.

Nudging his foot away, Lukey stared at their feet before glaring back at him. “Why do I even try?”, he spat. Pangi flinched back, his foot sliding from its position. Only slightly.
“...What?”
Running his hands through his hair, Lukey took a deep breath, his shoulders trembling before returning eye contact. Pangi felt scared. “I don’t know what we are! You don’t even want to tell me!”, Lukey was raising his voice. “I don’t know what you want me to do, Pangi. I really don’t.”
“I-”, Pangi couldn’t blink, the corners of Lukey’s eyes growing wet. He got a cold chill down his spine.
Lukey started laughing, coughing up snot before going back. It didn’t sound like his usual giggles, and it didn’t bring any feelings of happiness into him. “We are nothing,” Lukey was smiling, stray tears falling. “We’ve always been nothing, Pangi.”
