Don't Stand So Close To Me

Summary:

The crusaders go on another trip not long after Cairo (1989)

Jotaro realises he longs to be close to Kakyoin, this is the possibility for him and Kakyoin to spend more time togheter.

The more Jotaro thinks, the more he notices every little of Kakyoin. All of Kakyoin is what Jotaro unmistakingly wants after weeks by his side, and by every action he does that makes his heart beat.

Notes:

English isnt my first language so i might phrase some things wrongly... The title is from the group The Police, put that because the lead singer is Kakyoin's favorite singer and i tought it'd fit.

(Edit: i apologise for my writing in the first chapters, the rest are so much better trust)

Chapter Text

The trip to Egypt had been on everyone's mind for months. Breezy nights in Pakistan and India, deserts nights, and car rides along the streets.

After the trip, everyone had gone back to their usual lives. Abdul continued to make his living as a fortune teller in Cairo at Khan el-Khalili, Polnareff came back to his hometown, in France, dragging along also Iggy with him. nevertheless his appreciation for his friends kept on going. He called them time to time just to hear how they were going, or to just pinpoint some random tought he had.

Jotaro , Kakyoin, and Joseph came back to Tokyo .

Jotaro and Kakyoin came back to school, after 3 months the exams came close, and then ended too, both graduating successfully.

Jotaro was now Kakyoin's one and only friend , as Kakyoin was Jotaro's too. They'd hang out in school, or go to eachother's houses time to time.

Throughout the house Jotaro heard a ringing noise. The phone was ringing. He rose up from his couch and stepped closer to the device

"Kujo residence, hello?" He put the phone to his hear and to the side of his cheek, stoic on finding out who was calling.

"Bonjour, mon ami! Its me, Polnareff, i've got some fresh news for you mon compagnon! Pack your bags and get ready to see the world again !" His voice echoed in the phone in a startling manner as Jotaro was trying to make sense of it as he had barely woken up.

"Hear me , mon vieux? You, moi, les amis, we find eachother again! Cannot wait !" He announced cheerfully, sounding like he occupied a joyful smile on his face.

Silence to Jotaro's side again.

"Oh mon Dieu ! Did that old fart Monsieur Joestar not tell you? We're going on yet another journey! This time i assure you we won't have to fight some stand users.. It will be only purposely for fun my friend!" He assured him

"Thanks for letting me know, Polnareff . I'll go ask the old man about it." He sounded painfully indifferent, as always, but Polnareff knew that beneath that was a good and big heart.

"Jotaro? Jota- Here's my sweet boy! Mama wanted to tell you that she loves you dearly!" Jotaro's mom came out of behind a wall and put on a joyful smile and grinned , making a peace sign.

"Mom, apparently that old fossil of grandpa planned another trip." He affirmed, holding the phone mid air and ignoring whatever useless information Polnareff was talking about. Maybe was it how many restaurants they'd go to, or how much hours he'd go singing songs in the car.

"Oh really ? Isnt that great?" She said , brightening her smile. She already knew this. And believed Jotaro knew that too.

He placed the phone on his hear again and gathered the force to discern what Polnareff was talking about.

"Are you here? Oh, Madame Holly! Pass her my regards Jotaro! Well anyways, i have some things to do, we see eachother soon! At the next time!" Still sounding excited, he hung up the call before waiting for Jotaro's response.

Jotaro shrugged and walked back again to the couch. That same day, Joseph was running errands somewhere, now that Jotaro knew about all the trip story he tought it'd make sense for him to go out more times , maybe to buy things for the journey.

As he was about to sit down the phone rang again. Couldnt be polnareff, who hang up just now, nor his grandpa, who was out. Could it be kakyoin? Jotaro set his toughts aside and walked to the phone. He picked it up. "Hi, Jotaro!" It was Kakyoin's voice, it was casual, like he usually heard it. "Kakyoin , hey."

"How are you feeling? Guess you know about the trip too now, huh ? Polnareff's been nagging me about it for days, feel's like he's already with us now" Kakyoin snorted a quiet laugh and smiled behind the phone for a bit.

Jotaro let out a smirk, glancing a look on the side of the device. "Yeah, i just found that out today, the old man didnt bother to tell me about it sooner"

"Ah i see, well, when you know more about it let me know, it gets lonely sometimes here." He sounded distant, but the comment made Jotaro's heart flutter in a way he didnt want to know about. Its true, usually they hung out some times a week togheter, at home or out, anywhere, but this time it had been a whole week of not seeing eachother.

"Sure. I will." He smiled lightly before hearing what sounded like heavy footsteps and some grunting.

"My grandpa's here, i'll call later, bye, Kakyoin" he looked up the phone. Its not that Joseph coming had to interrupt their call, but Jotaro interrupted it sooner, knowing his grandfather would demand help.

"All right, bye bye ,Jotaro" he said before hanging up.

"Jotaro, come here and help me with the groceries, will ya?" Joseph was holding like it seemed 4 bags filled with necessities or groceries. Jotaro wondered why he had to buy so much if he could purchase things on the trip, but assumed it was better than to hear him complain all day about the things he forgot and wished he had taken.

"I got this." Jotaro took 2 bags and carefully set them on the floor, there were some things to eat, and random "useful" items, this time they weren't in some kind of mortal rush.

"Hey old man. The trip. Tell me about that." He mentionned, still undoing the groceries.

"Oh." He froze and grimaced at Jotaro. "About that, yes, in 3 days we'll have a tour again. In Europe! Not surprisingly enough Polnareff proposed it. And, well, Abdul got along with it claiming that it'll be a good chance to visit plenty more cultures, you know how he is. Anyways, start packing some things before it'll get too late." He insisted on it and pointed his finger up , as to command him to start now.

Aside all of it Jotaro guessed he didnt have any choice, he didnt mind it, anyways. Going on an adventure again. His mind shifted to the desert stars, the different meals, the teas he and Kakyoin loved so much. It wasnt so bad after all, every man in the group was pleasant to stay with, and Kakyoin. Whom he'd know better and more than the rest.

He wondered about what Kakyoin had said earlier. Did he have to come see him more often? Was it just a playful remark? Unexpectedly Jotaro was the one asking to hang out more often. Kakyoin was the only person that understood him without him needing to make obvious what he was feeling. The reason he hadn't asked Kakyoin to go out that week was because he tought and tought about him, tought about him too much, and didnt know why.

But now , as they'd be on their voyage he wouldnt need to bother asking, it was better this way, unexpected.

After unpacking all of the groceries Jotaro did what he usually did every day. Reading some Shonen Jump comic, watching some documentaries about ships or airplanes, or just going for a smoke.

1 day went by, it was late in the afternoon, that day he didnt really feel like doing anything except laying in bed watching the cieling or going out for too much smokes. -- cigarettes, he had to get more for the trip.

This reminded him to pack, he didnt have anything better to do so why not?

Before packing up a random count of clothes he went to ask Joseph how many weeks they'd go on the trip.

"Mhm.. well i figure i havent really tought about that..." Joseph put his hand on his chin and scratched his head with the other. "Lets say 3 weeks? Maybe a month? You've got your whole school break now, wont kill if its much will it?" He cackled and Jotaro just went back to packing. He packed atleast enough clothes for a month , it being some tank tops, maybe some longer clothes if they'd go to Russia too, and got some comics with him.

At this time , Abdul and Polnareff as well as Iggy were already in Moscow, in Russia. As they're the closest one to go there. For the others this wouldve been their first step, The other 3 would first take the plane and get to abdul and Polnareff, and then they'd travel to the rest of the countries togheter.

Polnareff took out the heavy leather jacket he was wearing, despite it being the start of summer, the night was starting to set and it was lightly chilly around the area.

Abdul was unpacking some meal they bought earlier and Iggy was loudly chewing on some coffee chewing-gum.

Polnareff stared intensly at Iggy.

"He's never gonna stop is he?" He came closer to iggy in tip-toe but was suddenly stopped by a growl

"You stupid little dog.. tch" Polnareff gritted his theeth and gave him the finger , annoyed.

Abdul shrieked without looking at the both of them.

It was now late, almost midnight. Jotaro was laying on his back on the bed, his leg spaced and his arms beneath his head. After packing up his bag and eating dinner he figured he didnt have nothing to do except trying to sleep. After dinner he tought about calling kakyoin, he left his tought and when he picked it back up it was too late to. He wondered if Kakyoin missed him, or waited for his call, he told him it got lonely. Why didnt he call? During those past months Kakyoin had told him he hadnt had any friends during his life, he tought about how lonely it must've been, and how happy he must feel now that he has people to count on.

He fell asleep with that tought and felt like he had dreamed of it

The upcoming morning Jotaro woke up tired, around 9. His mom had already gladly prepared breakfast for everyone .

"Jotaro, you packed your suitcase right?" His grandpa insisted as he finished drinking the last bit of his coffe.

Jotaro grunted in affirmation and walked towards the landline phone.

Some seconds passed. "Hello? Jotaro is that you?" Kakyoin asked, Jotaro swallowed.

Jotaro muttered a single "mhm"

"Its already tomorrow right? I missed this, im sure it'll be great." His voice pleasant and soft

"Yeah. The old man said its gonna be atleast a 3 week travel. According to him probably more." The curve of his mouth slightly going up, he tought of silly it was that his grandpa didnt even plan it correctly.

"Oh yeah? Thats nice. We'd just better find good hotels. Hotels that have working toilets.. Polnareff might go insane if we dont" Kakyoin chuckled shortly before adding "Nevertheless the food was really great there, the Chai tea too, i remember about it well, i guess it was one of my favorite things about that country"

Jotaro's words slipped. He tightened the grip on the phone. "If you want i'll get you some one day, during the trip, or even after." He proposed it, halfly as a mumble or a suggestion. His breath shortened for a second in wait for Kakyoin's response

"That'd be great. Thank you. I'll make sure to share it with you Jotaro" it sounded heartly, it made Jotaro's expression soften, his eyebrows resting and his mouth slightly curve a bit. It was great to have someone to share things with.

"Sure. It'd be great Kakyoin." His voice dropping into a gentle tone and his smile still present.

Abruptly, some muffled sounds came out the other line of the phone.

"Looks like my parents are home, see you tomorrow ,JoJo" light and kind expression in his voice

"Yeah. See you" he hung up and kept the phone set up on the landline holder for a good time, and kept looking at it before letting it go and walking away from it.

Jotaro stayed pensive, his toughts immediately swiped away by yet another complain of his grandpa.

"Jotaro did you see my gloves? I could swear i left them on the table before breakfast." Without needing to use Star Platinum he glimpsed at pair of beige gloves on the floor.

"You knocked them on the floor gramps" He stated, sounding obvious. "Your age is starting to get to you i see" He smirked for a bit before hearing Joseph grunting in anger, using Hermit Purple to grab them and putting them on.

"Talk to me when youre my age will you, tch."Rolling his eyes, and without word he walked away.

Joseph stopped for a second before turning around and sighing. "Tomorrow, we have the plane at 7 sharp. Make sure to be up ready and prepared!" Seriousness in his voice as he gestured commands at Jotaro. Anyways jotaro never took too much time to get ready, he was always the first set and organised. Hypocrital for Joseph to say that.

He muttered a noise in agreement before spending the day as his usual, again.

5:30am sharp in the morning, Jotaro's alarm clock got off. He sat straight on his bed and rubbed his eyes before putting the cap on his nightstand on. He got up and went to the bathroom to brush his theeth, a bit of his hair and to wash his face, he changed into his usual uniform and made way to the living room where his mom and his grandpa already were.

"Good morning Jotaro sweetie, did you sleep well?" His mom asked. It would be rude to just ignore that as he wouldnt see her for almost a whole month.

"Yeah." His response short but efficient, it was enough to satisfy his mom.

"Ookayy!" She put on a large smile before going back to talking with Joseph.

Some minutes had passed and Joseph abruptly got up from his cross-sitting pose. " Jotaro! Lets go now. Kakyoin must be already waiting infront of the house. I asked him to get here this morning, he should be already here.

Jotaro glanced at him and hurried slowly towards the entrance of the residence with his hands in his pants pockets. He looked infront to see Kakyoin, standing there, with his bag full and prepared. He was looking to the side but interrupted himself when he saw Jotaro.

"Jotaro, hey" he waved at him and approached him.

"Hey, Kakyoin. How are you feeling?" He demanded, still looking at him intensly.

"Pretty tired. I woke up at 5, had to walk to your house too, worth it for today though." He whooped a slight smile in Jotaro's direction

"Yeah. Right. It is." He wanted to tell him how much more it would be worth it, how he'd make sure he had a good time. Before any more interactions occured Joseph hastily passed by them and stopped infront of the car.

"Hey Kakyoin, all set up?" He nicely asked, smiling at him while opening the car's door.

"Hello Mr.Joestar, yes, all ready"  Kakyoin walked towards the car and Jotaro followed too. Some while later Ms.Holly joined too.

Joseph and Holly were set up in the front, Joseph driving. Jotaro and Kakyoin sat up in the backseats. The drive wouldn't be that long. Jotaro was resting his fist on his cheek, glancing next to him, to Kakyoin, who was resting his head on the glass, pensive, looking out to the view. All of his features sharp, his longer bang being againsts his face and the window. He looked pretty, he looked the prettiest when he was at ease and comfortable. Joseph glanced at the rearview mirror in the middle and looked at Jotaro. Jotaro still looking side at Kakyoin.

"Tired already ?" Joseph huffed a smile and went back to focusing on the road. Jotaro just close his eyes and sighed softly. He turned his attention towards the view of his window and rested his eyes for a while.

Merely an half hour later they arrived at the airport. Having the luxury of it being a Speedwagon foundation personalized one they could content being there just some minutes before the passage. They all got out of the car.

"Jotaro, here's your kiss !" Holly approached him and stayed on her heels while getting to Jotaro's cheek and pressing a kiss. "Remember mama loves you! Bye bye !" She waved at him and the rest of the group walked towards the small plane. Kakyoin huffed slightly. He knew Jotaro loved his mom and the kisses she was giving him everytime before leaving somewhere. Jotaro didnt bother to look at Kakyoin who was gazing at him.

Arrived in the plane it was small but spaced, since they were the only people hospitalising it. Jotaro and Kakyoin sat down in 2 places, setting their luggages somewhere with the rest. While Joseph was having long and what it seemed boring conversations with the members of the organisation. Jotaro was frowning with his eyebrows and had his arms crossed, while Kakyoin was on the window side, as he liked to look at the view. He was sitting straight, with his arms on his lap, and examinated the interior of the plane from time to time.

"That wont disturb our trip, right?" Joseph dwelled on the countless times he had crashed a plane accidetally, the SWF members assured him that some rain would disturb the travelling. They were specialised , ready for any occurity, every type of stand. "If you insist , well, call me if anything happends. I'll be sitting just there." He pointed to where the seats are. And the 2 men gave him a righteous 'okay' sign.

"Kakyoin, Jotaro. Some storm is coming, we might take a while more. But its nothing that serious apparently." He wasnt that sure of himself, but assured the others.

Jotaro muttered a Yare yare daze and tugged on the brim of his hat. "Undeniably its always like that with you old man.. with your luck we might end on the Indian Ocean." Kakyoin hummed a short giggle and observated besides him, they werent even passing up the ocean, which made the comment even funnier to Kakyoin. Jotaro shared a smile and frowned his eyebrows the slightest.

5 hours passed. They were halfway to the trip when a loud thunder got heard by Kakyoin. Joseph had 1 eye open to control and the other closed, Jotaro was unconscious asleep and Kakyoin woke up because of the noise. Despite it being just noon, the sky was a dark shade of grey. Kakyoin looked besides him to see jotaro hunched back a bit and with his hat placed on his face as a cover. In between Kakyoin's legs was placed a small bag containing some food, a bento with just rice and some teriyaki chicken. He opened it slowly and carefully to not wake Jotaro who looked tired earlier. Unfortunately jotaro woke up.

"Mhm.. Kakyoin?" He put his hat in place and with half open eyes examinated Kakyoin and his food.

"Oh, sorry, did i wake you up ? I tried to be careful but guess i wasnt" his expression still light.

"No, you didnt, it was the thunder dont worry". Jotaro sounded honest.

"Thankfully"

"Did i sleep much ?" Jotaro's head was turned to face Kakyoin , who was getting ready to eat.

"5 whole hours.. i woke up barely 10 minutes before you. The rain is actually pleasant to fall asleep with." He noted, smiling whole heartedly. He wasnt wrong, Jotaro slept super comfortably in months . "Its 12 o'clock, did you bring something to eat Jotaro?" Kakyoin tilted his head slightly and waited for Jotaro's response.

He hummed in response, he crouched slightly on his seat and took a bag from underneath it. "My mom prepared me lunch this morning." He opened the bag and opened a container having some sushis, a miso soup and some pickled plums. Kakyoin leaned down on Jotaro's lap where the meal was sat and sniffed slightly.

"Looks tasty." Kakyoin cheerfully added with a smile.

Jotaro's body felt frozen in place and heated. Had he slept too much ?

"I've got some rice and some teriyaki, oh and a small bottle of tea." Kakyoin directed with his finger every food he had.

"Looks tasty too." Kakyoin turned around and got greeted with a smile by Jotaro. The moment painfully short as they'd both got to eat their meals.

After finishing their dinstinguished food they both sighed of tiredness.

"Jotaro you want some?" Kakyoin grabbed his tea and made sign for jotaro to grab.

"Sure. Thanks." He sipped moderately at what tasted to be green tea and gave the drink back to Kakyoin. Kakyoin sipped in return. Jotaro's attention still directed into kakyoin's side as Kakyoin was drinking.

After sipping he fairly gave Jotaro a satisfied smile and so on they drank it both and left 1/3 of it.

Kakyoin adjusted himself comfortably back a bit and closed his eyes. Jotaro crossed his arms again and closed his eyes too.

The silence was interrupted by a faint voice.

"JoJo, did you know russia is the biggest country in the world ? I heard Moscow is really pretty, there's plenty of buildings and the churches there are beautiful, curved and pointy at the end with beautiful colors." Kakyoin was looking straight, his expression normal but his lips slightly parted.

"Yeah. I heard about it. Guess its pretty" Jotaro squinted his eyes slightly.

Kakyoin continued. "I always wanted to go there. I like snow. Spring is my favorite season." He fiddled with his fingers while having a focused dreamy gaze.

"Why did you say spring if you were talking about snow?" Jotaro turned his head to see Kakyoin still unfazed.

"If winter didnt exist i wouldnt be looking forward to spring so much." Kakyoin turned his head towards Jotaro and their eyes met. Jotaro's lips parted, his expression serious and appreciative. Kakyoin, a smile on his face, his eyebrows resting. It felt like an eternity before the silence was broken by Jotaro's response .

Jotaro tugged on his hat. "I guess its true. Mine is autumn. Not so cold but not too heated, i like it." Jotaro liked the color of the autumn leaves and the slight chilly breeze travelling in the air. He liked drinking warm tea and wearing whatever clothes he wanted without dying of heat.

He hummed in agreement and turned back to looking straight. "I might take a nap again" Kakyoin announced and he placed himself comfortably again.

"Sure." Kakyoin fastly fell asleep and Jotaro got up, he decided to go to the bathroom, and to walk just to wake his legs up. Arrived to the bathroom he found a sink with a mirror, a WC and some towels. He looked in the mirror and got closer, he examined himself. Flushed face. He put a hand on his cheeck and another on the next. He was slightly red, he couldnt have gotten a fever out of a sudden did he? He splashed some cold water on his face and adjusted his hat before walking where his place was.

He contemplated the plane, the only row of barely 6 places, Kakyoin right to him, his grandpa in the places infront, the empty space around it, the hallway where the bathroom is and the pilots room at the end of the hall. The sounds of the rain fastly tapping the plane and the soft thunders time to time.

He looked to see what hour the clock was pointing at. Barely 13:20. Atleast more 5h to go again. Trying to sleep would be pointless, he already slept enough before. And being left with no other activities he grabbed a comic journal and started reading it.

Something about some Tiger Man that contained a lot of fighting scenes. He didnt particularly like simple fighting shows but this was enough to keep his attention on.

Forward one hour he glanced at his feet. Right in the middle of Kakyoin and him was a cup, the tea bottle from before , there was some left and Jotaro decided it wouldnt have bothered Kakyoin if he finished it.

A short breath came out of Kakyoin's nose as he tilted his head left until putting his cheek on Jotaro's shoulder, and his head almost underneath Jotaro's chin. What? What was he doing ? Was he asleep? Jotaro tried his best to not move a single muscle in his body and kept the empty bottle in his hands firmly before Star platinum grabbed it and put it somewhere on the floor again. Kakyoin had fallen asleep on Jotaro's shoulder and he didnt want to disturb his friend next to him. Kakyoin seemed pretty tired, Jotaro remarked the purple dark hue under Kakyoin's eyes and decided it was enough to tell him to not bother him any more. He kept his breathing as faint as he could and just kept his gaze infront of him, looking at the seat just before him. His throat burning and his heart pumping slightly. He couldnt be that much stressed to wake Kakyoin up, so why was he so nervous?

He gritted his theeth and swallowed. He didnt want to disturb Kakyoin's peace. He glanced slightly to the right and was greeted by red hair. It was silent. Too silent in the plane, he could hear his grandpa's snoring but most importantly Kakyoin's chest rising and falling down slowly and lightly repetitively. Jotaro lowered his head a bit only to feel Kakyoin's hair the slightest. It felt warm. Both Jotaro's body and Kakyoin's hair. He peered at Kakyoin's hands posed politely on his own lap. Their elbows touching and their arms alongside togheter. Jotaro decided he didnt want to put up with too much of it anymore and just closed his eyes.

It wasnt that big of a deal, his friend was just tired and accidentally put his head on him. Not that serious, not in the slightest. He put up all of his force to not move. Maybe he could use Star Platinum to move kakyoin a bit without waking him up, maybe that'd ease the embarassement Jotaro had at that moment. Or maybe was it just useless ? Kakyoin was asleep, he still wasnt aware of it, but the moment he'd wake up he'd be maybe wondering why Jotaro didnt move him away. Without thinking more he just close his eyes and breathed out a sigh. He tried to not think about it, maybe Kakyoin would slip back to his original position.

Almost an hour passed when he heard a thump, was Kakyoin awake? He felt kakyoin still motionless on him. But his granpa , Joseph, got up from his seat and grunted while stretching himself, Joseph entered the pilot's cabin to ask them where they were and how much time was left. Joseph came to see Kakyoin and Jotaro still in an umcofortable position.

"Looks like he got comfortable there" Joseph added an usual useless comment, Jotaro opened one eye and sighed at him, muttering something under his voice.

"Just kidding, Jotaro, dont need to keep your nonchalant act on me and Kakyoin here." Jotaro wasnt nonchalant for some super reason, he just tought others could be able to figure him out , and if they didnt he wouldnt give a shit about it.

"He's sleeping." Joseph let out a confused noise.

"He's sleeping." Jotaro repeated again. "Dont wake him up old man"

Joseph started lowering his voice. "All right all right..."

Kakyoin sighed softly , still asleep, he shifted into a more straighten up position and got his head away from jotaro, but his left arm and hand were now resting on jotaro's lap, elongated. He furrowed his eyebrows and parted his lips slightly, showing his theeth slightly gritting. They now had 2 hours left on the trip.

He looked down on his lap and examinated Kakyoin's arm. His hand half in a fist, and the rest of his arm straight. Jotaro was holding himself with his arms so moving wasnt an option, he could accidentally wake up Kakyoin. But now that their position wasnt that all uncomfortable Kakyoin would just wake up and automatically move his hand, and he wouldnt notice anything, not even know he ever placed himself on Jotaro.

Slow breaths and Jotaro had found a way to hold on another one of his comics without bothering Kakyoin. Jotaro's elbow touched Kakyoin's arm but aslong as he didnt move much Kakyoin wouldnt notice.

"Jotaro you want a coffee? You should take one" Joseph suggested. He was holding 2 cups. "I'll leave it here , if you change idea" he set one cup on little table who was sticked to the wall and sat down on his own seat to see the weather.

"Its even worse now" Jotaro noticed the weather too and went back to reading.

The temperature dropped slightly and the rain got louder. Their destination grew closer and closer.

Suddenly a whine was heard from Kakyoin, he opened his eyes abrutly, squinting. "Hey. Did i sleep too much?" Kakyoin turned around to ask.

"Like 2 hours or so. We still have a couple hours left. Around 2" Jotaro replied to Kakyoin's worry and glanced at the clock. Kakyoin had his head in his right hand and the other still rested on Jotaro's lap. It didnt take long for Kakyoin to notice the akward place his hand was in.

He hastily removed it and placed it on his own knee. "Im sorry, i didnt see that, i didnt want to-" He looked somewhat embarassed.

"Its okay, its nothing." Jotaro looked unfazed, the comic that he was holding was now in his lap and his arms were crossed. He was looking to the left. After a second of await he looked at Kakyoin, who was looking down, his face partially covered in sweat.

Kakyoin glanced next to him and gave Jotaro a smile, to signal him he had acknowledged his response , before going back to look at the inside of the plane. Jotaro smiled shortly before doing the same too.

Kakyoin yawned and Jotaro returned the action, he was growing tired too, after all he had slept less . He put down the comic , making it rest on his lap and shifted his head slightly to the right towards Kakyoin. He hugged himself with his arms as to make his position more comfortable and began closing his eyes. Next to him Kakyoin was looking out the boring monochrome view, just dark and darker clouds shifting between another, infront, Joseph was searching things in his bag and checking other things. He gave his hearing attention back to Kakyoin's breathing, and his often occuring hums. Time to time he felt a gaze on him, that was none other than Kakyoin.

His mind shifted unconcious and his body heavy. His chest falling up and down slightly at every breath. Conciousness came back up.

"Guess who's awake now" It was Joseph talking, tilting his head back to the space between his seats to look at Jotaro.

"You've rested a good 2 hours, just like me" Kakyoin's voice kind and near.

"30 minutes or so and we'll be here, finally" Joseph started complaining at how boring it was to sit there for a whole day and do nothing fun. His hands gesturing randomly and his voice changing tone every word.

"Hang in there, Mr.Joestar, we'll be there soon, im sure there's lots of fun places there, first we'll have some rest for the night." Kakyoin tried to cheer up the mood and planted a keen smile. "If i remember correctly Polnareff and Abdul are in some hotel not far from the airport. After getting down we wont have to go much far."

Jotaro made a noise of agreement and nodded slightly.

"Yeah yeah , i just cant wait until this plane trip is over." Still with a complained tone in his voice.

Before the last 5 minutes Kakyoin and Jotaro spent some time talking about whatever food they'd eat, and sometimes shifted to talking about what Jotaro was reading, Kakyoin stayed close, his attention fully on Jotaro's book, and Jotaro's attention parting between the story and Kakyoin. some short chuckles sometimes interrupted the heavy silence and were responded by noises of agreement by Jotaro.

[ 17:46 ] The plane was starting to land and every one of the men grabbed their own things before walking down. Joseph in front while Kakyoin and Jotaro walked side by side, now it was time to get a cab and get to the hotel. After finding one they finally arrived to the hotel. Not bad looking but the outside weather making it look dark.

"I'll just have to do a check-in quickly and get our rooms , then we'll proceed to greet Abdul and Polnareff." Joseph entered the building and the other 2 followed. He hoped the lady at the counter could speak English.

"Hello, i would like to book 3 rooms please." Joseph asked , putting his hands on the counter.

A woman replied in english with a fair slavic accent. "I apologise but.. there's only 2 rooms left. Im really sorry, we're filled recently." Joseph tought for a while and grunted. He was interrupted.

"That'd be great. Thank you. Gramps, Kakyoin and i are staying togheter." It didnt sound like a suggestion. He was sure of it. Kakyoin hummed in agreement and sneered slightly.

Kakyoin and Jotaro made way to the entrance of the room. There was a long hallway that didnt make place to show the room , they left their bags at the side of the wall and got out of the room to join the others.

"Finally here, i feel like ive slept for an eternity on that plane" Kakyoin commented and let out a hitched laugh.

"Mhm, yea finally here" Jotaro followed.

Arrived infront of the room they knocked .

"This must be their room if i remember well. Mr.Joestar must be already there." Kakyoin's voice sure as he was knocking. The door opened.

"Bonsoir Jotaro! Bonsoir, Kakyoin! How are you feeling ? I guess that long trip had you tired, no worries now in my presence you'll both wake up" Wake up was the right word. Polnareff screamed that like they hadn't seen eachother in years. Polnareff got closer and held them both into a close embrace, squishing them both togheter and himself.

"Missed you too, you hyperactive frenchie.." Jotaro muttered , one cheek on Polnareff and one hand tugging on the end of his cap.

The statement made Kakyoin laugh in the slightest, he watched next to him to see Kakyoin gleeming at him. He loved that smile and those lightly squinted eyes in amusement.

"Lets not await more, come here you two!" Polnareff added and lead them in a room after a narrow hallway, the lightning slightly  yellow, some round table with some chairs, a window just infront of them, and next some others doors containing sleeping rooms. Next to the chairs stood Joseph and Abdul, happily conversing.

"Better late than never with you two huh ?" Joseph pointed at them and huffled dramatically.

"Hello, Mr Abdul" both Kakyoin and Jotaro greeted Abdul and shook his hand with an half hug. Iggy was sleeping soundly on some nearby couch pushed to the wall.

Kakyoin examinated the surroundings while Jotaro replied to Abdul's question about the plane travel. Jotaro was trying to not think about the embarassing memory of Kakyoin hunched on his shoulder and chest, his hair tickling his face, his arm on his lap.

Jotaro grunted in affirmation. "Wasnt too tiring, Kakyoin and i slept a bit so it wasnt that much." Jotaro gestured, his hand straight.

Abdul greeted him a heartly smile. "Thats great to know, now i wont have to be the only bearing with Polnareff's nonsense. He jokes and winked at Jotaro, still smirking.

"Im hungry." Polnareff complained, sitting on the couch stretching his arms and legs.

"We ate barely an hour ago, wait until tonight." Abdul objected, closing his eyes in disbelief. For this day they'd eat for eachother and then go sleep.

"It was nice seeing you both again" Kakyoin waved before leaving the room with Jotaro and smiled again. Joseph left with them too and returned to his own room.

" Polnareff isnt so wrong , we should eat too." Kakyoin remarked. It was past 6 , usually they didnt eat that early but to go sleep earlier they had to eat before too. He talked again. "Do you wanna go grab something in your grandpa's food bag?"

Jotaro tought for a short while. "What do you think if we go eat somewhere ? Not far, there's a little restaurant in the hotel, just, for meals , not something big." He suggested. Either option was okay for him.

"Well, if you want to i dont see why not" Kakyoin turned around to peek a smile at Jotaro, in which Jotaro returned slightly.

They walked in some hall, there was the reception counter, and a hallway in the right, a sign on the wall read 'food court" in both english and cyrilic.

Arrived , there were multiple rectangle tables. Some in multiple pairs and some singular. They settled for one in an angle, the wall side had a couch, in which Kakyoin decided to place himself it, while Jotaro choosed the chair seat.

Kakyoin looked down on the table, 1 menu. He grabbed it, reading for some time before giving it to Jotaro. Usual foods, it was a hotel after all. When the waiter came , Jotaro settled for a simple cheeseburger with fries and Kakyoin for a chicken burger with fries too. They bot got a coke.

The food settled on the table. They thanked the server.

"Looks good. Lets eat" kakyoin announced, taking the first bite of his sandwich. Jotaro did the same too.

After a couple of bites Jotaro interrupted the silence around them. "This is far from being like Kalkutta." Kakyoin agreed. "We just came so im sure there could be more surprises awaiting us. He remarked playfully .

"Still better here, as soon as we stepped up the boat in India we could barely walk." Jotaro said. He tought about India, talking with Kakyoin on a dinner table. He tought about a phone call, telling Kakyoin he'd bring him his adored Chai tea.

Kakyoin chuckled shortly before taking a sip of his coca cola. This was better than being home, staying lonely or playing videogames. He stayed pensive, grabbing his fries one by one, his eyes lingering on his food.

Jotaro studied Kakyoin's expression. He seemed down. Maybe he was just tired because of the plane ride, nonetheless he was satisfied of having asked Kakyoin to eat there. He got to talk with him, and to eat somewhat tasty food .

"Kakyoin. Something's wrong?" He regretted asking. The reason was surely obvious or stupid.

Kakyoin looked up from his dinner to look at Jotaro, still chewing. "Yeah, just, a bit tired." He turned down Jotaro's worries with a pleasant smile. Jotaro just nodding.

After finishing they payed the bill and walked back to their room, it was now after 7. They came to look at their room. Jotaro looked around the room, Kakyoin settled up on a bed and Jotaro was to do the same when he noticed there was only one singular bed. He checked around the room to see if like Abdul and Polnareff there were extra rooms. Nothing.

"What's wrong Jotaro?" Kakyoin turned around to look at Jotaro, frowing with his hands in his pockets.

Jotaro muttered a Yare yare daze before tugging low on his hat , enough to hide his eyes. "There's uh, just one bed" the silence following his words was loud and obnoxious. Kakyoin didnt know what to say, his eyebrows rising slightly and his eyes following Jotaro.

"I'll sleep on the floor, dont bother moving." Jotaro assured him. What would be worse? Sleeping on the cold hard floor, or staying in what seemed to be merely a one person bed , squished to Kakyoin?

A slight knock on the door was heard, followed by someone opening the door. It was Polnareff.

"Ready to sleep les enfants?" Dry and cold silence.

"Did someone die in here or, whats the matter with you two?" Polnareff glanced at Jotaro, still tugging nervously on his hat. Kakyoin decided to speak up. "Well , there's only one bed so Jotaro was thinking of sleeping on the floor." It seemed like it amused Kakyoin. Maybe because Jotaro was making a big deal out of nothing.

"Youre not serious are you Jotaro? Mon ami! Back in my day in the french campagne we'd stay all in a single bed, avec les compagnons, we'd stay all squished up, thats the fun here! Thats what makes it more exciting!"

Exciting. That was the case to say, jotaro wasn't that much annoyed about it, if it was the same to Kakyoin he wouldnt care less, but what if Kakyoin didnt want to? Jotaro would keep a big part of the bed.

He looked to see kakyoin indifferent, laughing, even, to whatever story Polnareff was talking about again. Kakyoin wasnt super fond of the idea too, sleeping with Jotaro? He wasnt used to any sort of proximal contact, and prefered to keep his to himself. But he and Jotaro were close, they were friends, it wasnt that much of a problem.

"You picky teens, im just saying, Jotaro, i dont think the floor is that comfortable to sleep in." He tried to convience him for whatever reason.

"I'll just put a pillow." He looked dead serious. It was ridiculous.

"You do you, dont come to me next morning complaining about your back hurting. " Polnareff rolled his eyes and walked out of  Jotaro's and Kakyoin's room.

Jotaro walked into the bathroom and brushed his theeth and splashed his face. Polnareff just made it so complicated. Jotaro opened the bathroom door and let Kakyoin in. Kakyoin was in the bathroom changing his clothes to his pyjama, he brushed his hair while Jotaro contenplated the floor, nervously. He sat criss cross on the floor and put his fist on his cheek. Kakyoin got out and made his way in the bed, settling himself on the edge, if Jotaro ever decided to give in. Kakyoin closed his eyes and positioned himself on the side, turned to Jotaro.

"Night, Jotaro" Kakyoin said, his eyes still closed.

"Yeah. Night, Kakyoin."  He replied , hastily.

Some minutes passed and jotaro was still on the floor, his head rilled with guilt of being this stupid, did he make Kakyoin more comfortable, avoiding the situation ? Or did he make him feel worse, making him wonder why Jotaro insisted on staying on the floor ?

He slowly got up from the floor and Kakyoin felt the bed shift slightly. He smirked. "No tiles then ?" His voice playful

Jotaro's mouth curved upwards. "Asshole." Kakyoin snorted and let Jotaro place himself better. They were both facing eachother.

"Night Kakyoin." This time Jotaro sounded satisfied.

"Night, Jotaro" Kakyoin replied. A bit behind Kakyoin was a window, the room was dark, filled with the moon's lighting, behind Kakyoin.

15 minutes passed and Jotaro was sure Kakyoin was asleep. It wasnt that bad after all. Merely 20cm separated them. Suddenly Jotaro felt heath in his mouth. He stayed during this time with his eyes closed, or zoned out watching Kakyoin. His toughts changed suddenly. He tought of caressing Kakyoin, running his fingers down his face.  nuzzling his face into his hair. Smelling him. He wasnt thinking straight. His toughts wandered in shame and his heart beated in embarassement. Had he lost his mind? What was he even thinking about. He wasnt gay, nor did he like Kakyoin.

He wasnt interested in women in the way relationships weren't much important for him. But nor was he interested in men, too.

He gazed at Kakyoin's face. Slight breathing, eyes closed peacefully, mouth parting and tightening at every breath. What was he thinking, pointing Kakyoin with his gaze? Sure he was pretty, elegantly tall for someone who was merely 178cm. Polite but confident in his every move ,and concentrated gaze at every simple action he did.

Kakyoin's lighter skin was glowing in the moonlight, his longer bang laying on the matress. Jotaro moved a bit closer, Kakyoin was only a breath away from him. So beautiful and painfully real. Jotaro's hands, before , resting next of his own chest were now placed next to Kakyoin's bang. He gently slid a finger on the lenght of the hair and huffled softly. He came closer even more, now barely some cms away from Kakyoin. He was sure that if one of them accidentally move they'd knock foreheads. Jotaro knocked off his hat with Star Platinum so he could stay close to Kakyoin with no risk. He closed his eyes firmly and could still feel Kakyoin's heat.

Before falling asleep he tought of pressing gentle kisses on Kakyoin. His hair, his cheek, or his forehead. An idea so tempting, Kakyoin being just some centimeters away from him. Unconsciousness made its way and soon enough he slipped into a deep sleep.

There was a grunt, it was Kakyoin. The room was still dark, it seemed to be late in the night. It took him a second before realising Jotaro was glued to him, his head into his shoulder, this time, Jotaro's hair was the one grazing Kakyoin. Jotaro's hands were gripping gently at Kakyoin's clothes. Their knees bumping into eachothers's legs.

Was it this that Jotaro feared? Getting into a yet another embarassing situation? Kakyoin was half too tired and half too petrified to even move. The touch was pleasant , Kakyoin never had anyone hugging him besides his parents . He tought hugging his friends was normal, but this was too much, Jotaro was fully cuddled on him and it felt much too intimate to be considered as simple friendship. Kakyoin didnt like jotaro from what he knew.

Thinking about it would make it much worse. Waking up Jotaro in the middle of the night for this would be even more. He stayed motionless and squinted his eyes closed. He stayed with his eyes closed thinking about nothing for minutes and still no sign of falling asleep. He leaned barely into the touch and fell back asleep.

The room was greeted by flashes of light, it was 7:00 and Jotaro opened his eyes to see what he had feared the most. He was hunched into Kakyoin, gripping him. Kakyoin slightly placed higher than him on the bed, his hands tugging legerly on Jotaro's hair. Heat burned from his face nonetheless him keeping his usual expression. Breathing from his nose trembling, Jotaro tried to shift away to go in the bathroom. His tries unefficients Kakyoin woke up.

"Mghm.." He let out a whimper before yawning.

"Jota-?.." Right, it was even worse now. And Jotaro was awake, looking at him.

"Good morning Kakyoin." Jotaro tried to sound as casual as he could while pushing himself gently from Kakyoin.

Kakyoin wanted to apologise , but making their situation even clearer would just ruin it more. Instead, Jotaro was the one who started. "Im sorry, i didnt want to, you know, ac-"

"Its fine. Its okay" Kakyoin stopped him before making it worse. The room was filled with tension as they both rose from the bed.

"Kakyoin, you wanna grab breakfast?" Jotaro walked towards Kakyoin and suggested. Atleast they'd find something to break the embarassement .

"Yeah. Why not" he agreed and they both changed into their usual clothes to go down to eat. All of this was starting to get weird. Jotaro getting nervous over sleeping with Kakyoin, admiring him, wishing he could trace his hands everywhere on Kakyoin, it looked all so wrong but felt horribly right.
