Work Text:
This vile paradise after they left was a mess, jam was everywhere and they're so called bringer of happiness was to busy obsessing over her to care for any of the garden's residents, including himself. The once pristine gardens that was so lovingly cared for by Eternal Sugar was filled with her; there was berries were everywhere and the rivers were all filled with berry juice, all just to prepare this paradise for her return.
"How revolting" he thought, sat at the centre, the highest point of this paradise and the only place that wasn't flooded with jam, which he and the other sugar angels had to clean after her visit. Watching the once proud Eternal Sugar act all lovesick for her other half, it was almost like she couldn't see him which was probably for the better as she would put that illusion back on him.
"If it wasn't for the fact she would turn me to a sugar statue, I wouldn't be doing all this lousy work and if she didn't leave she would do it for me....." he muttered, his mind drifted off as an image of her glistening yellow icing, those glittering grey wings shined so brightly like stained glass popped into his head.
"Stupid butterfly, finally grew a backbone and spread those wings out of this paradise" he mumbled as he hugged his legs tighter to himself.
A familiar sickingly sweet voiced broke from his stupor, as Eternal Sugar, with her smile eye to eye approached him.
"Pavlova dearie what are you doing you should be preparing this garden for Hollyberry for when she returns!" she says clutching her arms over her chest. "What if she returned right at this moment we need this garden to be perfect for my sweet Hollyberry" she wasn't even looking at him as she says this, her eyes clouded by images of her other halfs shining armour.
He forces his face into a innocent smile as he speaks with a overly joyful voice "My apologies Eternal Sugar! I was just taking a small break but me and the sugar angels have made sure this garden is perfect for her. I'm sure that when she returns it'll fill her empty heart with your love and she'll never leave again!". He would rather not be turned into a statue, so that perhaps one day he'll get to see one more glimpse of her even if they were enemies.
